What is the maximum number of authorization object in an authority object ?

An authorization object comprises up to 10 authorization fields.

You can get your authorization reset for Digital Editions and your Reader by opening Web case with Adobe as they do not support Adobe Digital Editions on Phone line.
In order to create Web case you need to do following.
1) Go to : http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions
2) Click on "Submit a web case"

Now if you are facing problem like whenever you open Digital Editions or Connect Reader it is asking to authorize then do folowing

Maximum number of authorizations - how to de-authorize?

I have been legally purchasing songs on iTunes for many years and on more than 5 computers. Many of those computers were at studios where I worked and are now at the bottom of landfills. I have two laptops, one of which states that it can't play certain songs I purchased years ago becuase "the maximum number of computers authorized" was reached. The number being 5.
How do I deactivate a computer that is at the bottom of a landfill? And thus be able to play or transfer the 100's of songs on my old laptop that Apple says I can't play, even though I legally purchased them?
Newer laptop is:
Macbook Pro
OS 10.6.8
iTunes 10.6.3
Older laptop is:
Powerbook G4
OS 10.5.4
iTunes 8.x

For computers: You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.
It is also possible to have mistakenly authorized a computer more than once. To fix that:
Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose "Deauthorize This Computer…"
Enter your account name and password.
Click OK. A message appears reading "This computer has been successfully deauthorized."
Click OK.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 above. If you see the same message reading: "This computer has been successfully deauthorized," then your computer was using multiple authorizations.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 above until you see a message reading "This computer was not authorized. To authorize this computer, play a song or video you have purchased using this account."

What's the maximum number of view criteria that a view object can contain?

We are making extensive use of view criteria in our view objects, mainly for LOV purposes. Is there a figure on the maximum amount of view criteria a view object can contain.

Authorization field value

Hi Experts,
Basis team has created one authorization object and created one authorization field for warehouse number. They will assign value to that field.
My question is:
Is there any table to get the authorization field value for that object? or How could I get the value for this authorization field value?
Because I should use that value in my select statement.
Any possible solution will be gratefully accepted.

Hi Arindam,
You shall get the warehouse number using SELECT query from it's master or transaction table and pass it to the AUTHORITY-CHECK statement.
Example:
SELECT SINGLE pernr
        INTO   l_pernr
        FROM   pa0105
        WHERE uname EQ sy-uname AND
               usrty EQ '0001'   AND
               begda LE sy-datum AND
               endda GE sy-datum.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'ZAUTH_HRT' ID 'PERNR' FIELD l_pernr.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
   MESSAGE 'No authorization' TYPE 'E'.
ELSE.
   MESSAGE 'Congrats! You are authorized' TYPE 'I'.
ENDIF.
Hence, it will automatically check the values in l_pernr with the values in Authorization field.
You can check the values passed to authorization field using the T.code - PFCG

Cost Component Structure (OKTZ) Issue - Max number of cost fields reached

Hello.
I'm having this issue in OKTZ when adding new cost component in an exisiting cost component structure. it says "maximum number of cost fields reached (40)".
not sure what to do with this.

Hi Andrew,
When yo create the Cost Components in the Cost Component Structure, inside each Cost Component, there will be properties relating to whether the Cost in that Cost Component is Fixed / Variable, relevant to Inventory Valuation or not etc.
To view these options...Go to OKTZ, select the line of your Cost Component Structure, double click on "Cost Component with Attributes" in the left side navigation. Now, you will be able to see the list Cost Components on right hand side. If you double click on any Cost Component, you will see the properties of that Cost Component.
There, you can see ther radio buttons "Variable Costs" and "Fixed and Variable Costs".
Now, in Standard SAP, you will be able to create a maximum 40 Cost Components. The behaviour of the system goes like this.... If one Cost Component is only "Variable Cost", it will take the space of one Cost Component out of the maximum 40. If one Cost Component is of "Fixed and Variable Costs", then it will take the space of two Cost Components out of the maximum 40. That means, if all of your Cost Components are "Fixed and Variable", then you will be able to create only 20 Cost Components.

Structure of the Cost Components in a Cost Component Split
The cost components are listed in a cost component structure that can contain up to 40 cost components (cost fields).
You can create up to 40 cost components that contain variable costs.
For cost components that contain full costs, the system creates a second cost field for the fixed costs. This means that you can create no more than 20 cost components that are full costs.

I remember that in 4.6 it's something like 56.
There's also a maximum, in the number of characterisitcs that you can use in COPA?

Symptom
The technical limits for data structure of an operating concern could constrain further extension for large applications.
The current limits are set as follows:
50 characteristics
120 value fields
249 fields in table
1948 bytes of table width
Other terms

Reason and Prerequisites
This was due to historical as well as performance reasons, because of database and system limitations in past.
Solution
As of basis 6.20 package 25 was extended the limit of database table length to 4030 characters. According that, the limits for CO-PA data structure are adapted as well.
By applying of the attached source code correction the limits are extended as follows:
50 characteristics
200 value fields
749 fields in table
4030 bytes of table width
Caution:
The correction can be applied also in ERP release 4.70, but only under the condition, that basis release 6.20, support package 25 or higher is applied.

What do you mean by maximum number of id? Do you mean the maximum number of devices that can be authorized? If you are exceeding that number, you must deauthorize devices to add additional or new devices.

ORA-00020 maximum number of processes (string) exceeded
Cause: All process state objects are in use.
Action: Increase the value of the PROCESSES initialization parameter.
Another alternative approach may be to configure your Connection pool and/or your ApplicationModule pool to optimize the use of
database connections and/or restrict the number of database connections used by the application. For example, if your application
has declared many root ApplicationModules (i.e. more than one ApplicationModule pool is in use) then it may help to enable the
jbo.doconnectionpooling switch so that each ApplicationModule instance in the pools does not maintain a dedicated database
connection while not in use. Another alternative if you are using the BC4J connection pool (not a JDBC datasource) may be to
restrict the number of connections the pool can create to < 150 with the jbo.maxpoolsize switch. However, please note that this
may have an impact on throughput.

Is it possible to give multiple values to the field of the Authority object.
For example
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'M_MATE_WRK'
ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '03'
ID 'WERKS' FIELD : '0002', '1030', 2700'.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
WRITE : 'No authorization'.
ENDIF.

it is possible to give authority for more than on field.
program an AUTHORITY-CHECK.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT <authorization object>
   ID <authority field 1> FIELD <field value 1>.
   ID <authority field 2> FIELD <field value 2>.
   ID <authority-field n> FIELD <field value n>.
The OBJECT parameter specifies the authorization object.
The ID parameter specifies an authorization field (in the authorization object).
The FIELD parameter specifies a value for the authorization field.
The authorization object and its fields have to be suitable for the transaction. In most cases you will be able to use the existing authorization objects to protect your data. But new developments may require that you define new authorization objects and fields.

Maximum number of field values for an Authorization object

Hello Experts,
What is the maximum number of field values can be put into the role, Is there any restriction for number of values in any authorization field?
I have put 326 values for field OBJTYPE in authorization object S_DEVELOP but not able to generate the role it is showing error.
I know I can split the values in two or more instance but wanted to know if there any other way out for this (without creating more instances)

If the values for OBJTYPE are not uniquely the same, then the system will not merge them - so nothing will be lost.
Here is another trick for you: Choose one of the transactions in the role (or create a "symbolic" one for it") where you want to have the OBJTYPE proposed automatically from. Now maintain one or two of them in SU24 and then download it to your PC. Now from the F4 value range of the OBJTYPE, add all of those values you want via copy&paste into the file and then upload into SU24 again. A read old / merge new in PFCG will then swing all the values in for you.
Single values are always better, as you do not know what else is hidden in the range or might be added in future. It is however common to see FROM / TO ranging around values such as DEBUG and FUGR although all aspects of S_DEVELOP are dangerous - even in display mode.

What is the maximum number of fields in oracle 9 ?

My question might be very simple, but i tried to find the answer on the website of oracle and on this forum but with no success.
How many fields can i put in a single oracle file ? Can i compare the fields to a column in a spreadsheet ? If so, i want to know the maximum number of columns possible in an oracle database (if i take the exemple of microsoft access, i have a limitation of 255).

One should really make the difference between db_name and instance_name: if instance_name default value is db_name it can be different
(even on a non RAC database).
For example with Oracle 10.2.0.4 you can create a database named DB78 with instance_name=DB12345678:

FML Field Table - maximum number of fields?

in our Tuxedo-environment we are using the "FML Field Table" (text file) to define fields and FLDIDs to access and manipulate fields in a fielded buffer.
My questions are:
o is there a maximum number of fields one can define in the field table?
o is it ok that this file grows very big if every application-relevant field is to be put into this table? (in our company we have services up to 80 fields...)
o is it better practice to define universal FML fields (such as CHAR_01, CHAR_02, NUMBER_01...) to avoid that every service-field has its own field-defínition?

1. FML/FML32 really have a maximum number.
# For FML: between 1 and 8191, inclusive
# For FML32: between 1 and 33,554,431, inclusive
But you should pay attention that some fields are reserved by Tuxedo, you can get the reference at http://edocs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux100/fml/fml04.html
2. It depends on how you use FML routines. Some routines, such as Fldid which map the name to the numeric identifier, sure it needs a little cpu cycle for the searching if you defined hundreds thousands of fields. But for most APIs, such as add/change/update/delete, the API only requires the numeric C macro definition, so there is no performance issue. A number of 80 fields is adequate absolutely. You should not worry about that in a very long future.
3. From my personal point of view, I think it is a good habit to define the fields universally in Tuxedo applications. You will feel more administration benefit if you want to extend Tuxedo to Java by JOLT, to web services by SALT etc.

I read on one of the forums that there is no hard number to maximum number of fields. However, I received this message: "You have reached the limit on the number of items allowed in a FormsCentral form. You may delete or modify existing items."

Splitting forms does not help my cause. It is a governement form which requires a lot of information in it. If the information can not be filled in one form, I am affraid that this product is not suitable for our organisation. Is there a way that I can seek a refund?
