Maximum number of local users on a Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator

Hi,
Do you know if there is a specific maximum number of local users that can be created on a Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator? If possible, we would like to know the number for the different models.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Harry

Hi Harry,
Please see table 13-1 for that information, and read Authentication Server Limits paragraph

  • How to get Maximum Number of Concurrent users for last few days?

    Hi,
How I can get maximum number of concurrent users which were logged in to the system (ECC 5.0) I mean I want to check the hostory for last few weeks. Is there any way to get the same? I know that I can get Cumulative number of users in st03 under Expert mode but that is the number of users logged into the system during the day. Is there any place where SAP maintians the High Watermark of Number of concurrent users reached in the system?
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Pravin

Sorry I really missed that I have posted a question here on sdn. I wanted to know this for planning the system hardware requirements. Activities like PM ( Performance Management ) happens once a year and during that activity we see heavy user loan on the system so if I have the exact stats of 1 or 2 years data I can size the system better next time. Fortunately last 2 years PM was very smooth for us. In that look for the improvement because each time we had little extra Harware. By doing the exact analysis we can save a Cost of ownership...
I was looking for R/3 users. I could see the number in st07 but I want to know the exact number at particular time.. I believe that st07 stores only for few days.
    Thanks

  • How to find out maximum number of login users?

    Hi all,
Is there anyway to find out what is the maximum number of login users since a database is started? Maybe I should ask, what's the largest number of sessions has been opened in a busy time of a database since it is started?
I know v$session is my target. But how can I find out hte HWM of opened sesions?
    Thanks.

Thanks Serch-NET. That's what I'm doing today. I should be a little more specific. I'm looking for a script that lends itself to automation. A script that can determine all the databases on a given server, find their background dump dest., grep all alert logs and return the highest of the HWM's. This is all scripting I could do myself, but being a follower of the Lazy DBA, I was hoping someone else had done it. :-)
    Thanks again.

  • Maximum Number of portal users

    Hi,
Can anyone help with what is the maximum number of portal users there can be. Our company portal is Internet facing and we have a lot of external users with portal accounts. Is there a limit on the number of such people allowed? Thanks for any help.
    Lakshmi.

    Hi Lakshmi,
You might want to refer to this thread.

  • Maximum number of contemporary users

    Hi Everybody,
in my company we're planning for a new "Portal & Wireless" installation, and we need to know how many contemporary users can be served by the system. We have a three-tier architecture, with two different servers for the middle-tier (IBM x342, with 2 intel Pentium III 1400 MHz processors and 2GBs Ram memory)load-balanced by a Radware machine, and with the infrastructure (DB, SSO & OID) installed on a 4 Ultra Spark 400 MHz processors system (4GBs Ram). Does someone know any sort of algorithm to get the maximum number of contemporary user? Otherwise, which way can I estimate that value? Do you know any 'enlightening' document about this issue?
    Thanx!

There is no easy answer to this question. You may find this document interesting.
How your hardware performs will vary widely based upon what you run on it.
Estimating anything can be a complex and error-prone process, that's why it's an 'estimation' not a 'calculation'.
Primarily there are three approaches to sizing a portal implementation, these can be identified as:
    Algorithm or Calculation based
An algorithm or process that accepts inputs from the customer (e.g. user count, page count, hits, latency, doc size etc) and attempts to deliver a processing requirement is probably the most commonly accepted tool for delivering sizing estimations.
Unfortunately this approach is also the most inaccurate.
When considering a logical n-tier enterprise class portal implementation the number of variables involved in delivering a calculation that even approaches a realistic sizing response would require input values numbering in excess of one hundred, and calculations so complex and sensitive that providing an input value plus or minus 1% of the correct value would result in wildly inaccurate results.
The other approach to calculation based solutions would be to simplify the calculation to the point where it was simple to understand and simple to use. Unfortunately the sizing results delivered from this approach would also be wildly inaccurate.
    Size-by-Example based
A size-by-example (SBE) approach requires a set of known samples that may be used as data-points along the thermometer of system size. The more examples available for SBE the more accurate the intended implementation will be. Asking a customer how many users they will have, what those usage patterns are likely to be and what type of content they intend to deploy on the portal are all questions that they should be able to answer. Asking them the likely cache-hit-ratio for a portlet is probably something they won't be able to answer unless you're asking the right people. Normally in a pre-sales situation the customer will not know the answers to questions like that. Those are the types of questions that would be required for the algorithm approach.
Oracle has the ability to deliver targeted SBE sizing solutions for our prospective portal customers through reference implementation documents that outline both our internal deployments and customer's external deployments.
By using these real world examples both customers and Oracle can be assured that the configurations being proposed have been implemented before and will provide the performance and functionality unique to the proposed implementation.
    Proof of Concept based
A proof of concept (POC) or pilot based approach offers the most accurate sizing data of all three approaches.
A POC allows the customer to do the following :
    Test their portal implementation design
    Test their chosen hardware platform
    Test their caching strategy
    Simulate projected load
    Validate design assumptions
    Validate Oracle9iAS Portal
Provide iterative feedback for their implementation team
Adjust or validate the implementation decisions made prior to the POC
There is, however, two downsides to a POC based approach, namely time and money.
Running a POC requires the customer to have manpower, hardware and the time available to implement the solution, validate the solution, iterate changes and re-test and finally analyze the POC findings.
A POC is always the best and recommended approach for any sizing exercise, it will deliver results that are accurate for the unique implementation of the specific customer, and that are as close to deploying the real live solution as possible but without the capital outlay on hardware and project resources.
    Hope this helps

  • Maximum Number of Concurrent User Sessions Limit?

Please can you tell me if there is a limit for the maximum number of concurrent users sessions that can access the Portal? If so, where is the setting and how do I change it?
By the way, I am not experiencing any issues; I am asking purely for information purposes
    Thanks.

There used to be under one of the services in service configuration.  I thought it was under portal runtime, but I can´t see it now.  It mentioned it in the TZTEP1 course, but I haven´t got it with me.
Having said that, I don´t know if it worked!

  • Maximum number of concurrent users in RDC

    Hi
Can anyone tell me what is the maximum number of concurrent users
that can view reports running under RDC component ?
    thanks

The RDC is limited to three concurrent processes. Only reason I was after the craxdrt.dll v.s. craxddrt.dll is that craxddrt requires extra licensing. Anyhow, the article [Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Component Licensing Explained|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/804acc00-8364-2b10-b995-de99ca43c403&overridelayout=true] has more detailed information. I understand you are using CR 10 and the doc title is CR XI r2, but as far as the RDC the licensing details remain the same between the two versions.

  • Maximum number of concurrent users

What is the maximum number of concurrent users any single given Airport can handle? I believe it is ten...
    Thank you!

If the AirPort is configured to create a wireless network, the AirPort Express can handle up to 10 users. The AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule will handle up to 50.

  • Preventing mac osx users from using cisco vpn

    Hi,
I have setup ASA to act as our vpn server with radius as my authentication server. Users use the cisco vpn client utility to vpn in which has the .pcf file. This .pcf file has the group password, name and so on. Some users went online and found websites to decrypt the group password and have used that on their local macs to vpn in.
That irritates me and i want to know how i can prevent them from logging on. Are there any ways to block by os type within ASA?
    Please help!!
    thanks

thanks i set it up to get 2 syslog messages: 713120 and 713904.
    <165>Feb 09 2012 06:48:56: %ASA-5-713120: Group = vpnaccess-xyz123, Username = xyzcompany\jdoe, IP = 10.10.10.10, PHASE 2 COMPLETED (msgid=xxxxxx).
Which is good, now i know who is connected to my vpn and i get an alert, but i also want to know they type of OS they are using. When i do a lookup of syslog message id: 713904, that is suppose to give me the OS type (ex: winnt mac ox and so on), but i am not getting that.
Any reason why i dont get an alert from message id 713904, but i get one from 713120.
    thanks

  • Will Nortel's Contivity VPN Client work with Cisco's VPN 3000 concentrator?

Hi, need help. We have VPN 3000 concentrator and a number of VPN clients (these are using Cisco VPN client).
We have one user that wants to use Nortel's Contivity VPN Client. Will this work with the Cisco COncentrator 3000?

Tricky question - in theory yes, if the nortel client follows all the ISPEC RFC's.
I did try to get the cisco VPN client working on a Nortel Contivity once - did not get it working - but did'nt have that much time to test and get it working.
My advise - Configure, TEST DEBUG TEST DEBUG!

  • Can't Ciscoworks LMS 4.2.2 back up the configuration of Cisco VPN 3000 concerntrator?

    Hi All,
In VPN 3000 concerntrator, I've enabled tftp, telnet, snmp. I've also successfully added the concerntrator into Ciscoworks LMS 4.2.2. All the ports are verified open to Ciscoworks. No question mark shows next to this device in the device management of LMS. However, when I run configuration Achive Job, I always get the following failed message. Can anybody tell me how to to back up the configuration of Cisco VPN 3000 concerntrator in Ciscoworks LMS 4.2.2? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but apparently not. Please see the supported devices table (here).
That table states, among other things:
The following features are not supported:
    Network Topology Layer 2 Services
    Fault Management
Configuration Deploy Protocols: HTTPS, TELNET, SSH, SCP, TFTP, RCP
Configuration Fetch Protocols: HTTPS, TELNET, SSH, SCP, TFTP, RCP

  • Maximum number of CCM user

    Hello,
Does anybody can point me the link or webpage regarding to the maximum of users that I can configure in CCM?
I'd like to follow datasheet like if my server is 7845 then I can have approximately 7500 users. But I'm not quite sure this is a proper estimation.
    Thank you very much.
    Chinnawoot

The 7,500 figured mentioned for the 7845 refers more to the supported number of phones than users. This is a rough estimation and any large deployment should be planned using the appropriate capacity planning tools.
CUCM uses a server clustering design with the typical maximum number of phones per cluster being 30,000 although Cisco have deployed "mega-clusters" for some customers that exceed this number. Clusters can also be linked together and newer versions of CUCM support cross-cluster extension mobility so the limits are fairly elastic.
The best place to understand CUCM is at the SRND design guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/7x/callpros.html
I am sure that if you have a requirement for 5 million users your local Cisco office would love to talk to you .

  • Maximum number of concurrent users that can connect to a SQL DB

I see various SQL DB plan S0, S1, S2 and P1, P2 and P3.  Each one of them talk about DTU's but never talk about the max number of concurrent users.  Where can I find that number and is it configurable by the end user?

It is the maximum connection that is most important. Best practice is not to have users holding on to their connection for long period of time. Maximum user connection in SQL is 32767, resource permitting. Not sure for Azure SQL. If you follow best
practice, you are not supposed to hit this limit cause other limits will be hit first.

  • What is the maximum number of PVC's supported by Cisco BPX 8620 and 8680 chassis with BCC-4V 128MB DRAM and 4 MB BRAM?

We are working on a capacity planning project for one of our customers and we need an estimate on the maximum number of PVCs supported in the following situations:
    a)Cisco BPX 8620 and 8680 chassis with BCC-4V 128MB DRAM and 4 MB BRAM ?
b)Maximum number of PVC's supported by each of the following STM-1 cards:
    - model BXM-155-4D and 4DX ?
    - model BXM-155-8D and 8DX ?

a)It depends upon software level. b) 16,000 per card, With release 9.3:
60K Connections Support on BXM-E—Provides the ability to support a maximum of 60K per card for VSI applications for the BPX 8600, for example, PNNI or MPLS, used on enhanced BXM-E cards.

  • How do you set maximum number of concurrent users to OBIEE

In a training session for the end users - only 4 users could connect - after this others could not connect - got NQS Error:100118 Access for the connection is refused

As I don't see any configuration tag to specify concurrent users.
Try this, go to connection pool (within RPD) and set the maximum number of connections, this does correspond to number of concurrent connections to database but not concurrent users.
    mark posts promptly.
