Maximum number of wired guest clients ??

Does anybody knows which is the maximum number of simultaneous wired guest clients on a 5508? And in a 2112 controller?
Wired clients count as wireless clients??
What about anchoring limitations, what is the effect of wired guest clients on the anchor controller?

2100 series WLC do not support Wired Guest Access.. 5500 wlc supports.. and i guess 5508 WLC can support max 150 simultaneous logins..
Lemme know if this naswered ur question and please dont forget to rate the usefull posts!!

  • [WORKAROUNDED] Maximum number of clients reached

    Hello,
I have got some problems with X11. From time to time when I try to run some app I get following error:
"QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Maximum number of clients reachedkate: cannot connect to X server :0.0"
This particular error concerns trying to run "kate" application.
When I try to check out how many applications there are running so far I get:
    > xlsclients
Maximum number of clients reachedxlsclients:  unable to open display ":0.0"
Anyone knows that problem and can tell what is wrong? How to fix it?
The only method I know that is working for this problem is to restart X11, but it is not a solution for me.
I noticed that this problem occurs especially often when I run "chromium" web browser.

I temporarily workarounded the problem by changing MAXCLIENTS variable in xorg-server sources from 256 to 512. So far so good.

  • Maximum number of clients reached

    Hi all,
I have Arch running on my laptop since a year, recently i started to have a very annoying problem, with few just few X client sometimes i can't open any X program, for example mousepad from the terminal will show:
    Maximum number of clients reached
    (mousepad:21270): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0
    while
    xlsclients | wc -l
shows 24 clients? the maximum should be 255!
The only one thing that might be related which i did recently was to install compiz and enabling desktop effects, but i removed them completely including the user configuration files that are left, after that i started to see the problem occasionally.
    Any hint?

    Any updates on this?
After a recent update, when I tried to launch chromium (or google-chrome) via terminal I got a parse error for the file "/usr/share/hwdata/pci.ids"
After I re-installed some related programs
    pacman -S usbutils pciutils hwids
I was able to run chromium again, but now I get this max clients error.
Here is the output of xlsclients
    $ xlsclients
Maximum number of clients reachedxlsclients: unable to open display ":0.0"
How can I go about debugging this?
EDIT: The bug is with VLC. When VLC is closed, everything works as expected.

  • Maximum number of clients per Extreme?

Forgetting about bandwidth usage, what is the maximum number of clients (Macbook, iPad/iPhone,) that connect to an AirPort Extreme at the same time?

I think you may be asking about WDS, which would kill the performance of the network.
If you need to connect 120 wireless devices (you don't tell us if computers will connect using wireless or ethernet), the only practical setup would be to connect each of the 3 AirPort Extremes together using ethernet cabling.
I would urge you to work with an IT professional to make sure that the system will do what you want. The AirPort Extreme is designed for home use. It can work in a situation such as yours, but your IT pro will have other suggestions. You would do well to listen to him.

  • Maximum number of client that possible to running OSD at the same time?

How maximum number of client that possible to perform OS deployment from SCCM 2012 R2 at the same time?
    Regards, Bar Waelah

It depends on your infrastructure and design.
My DP servers got mirrored mechanical disks and a Gbit nic. We like to run about 10 clients every 2 hours from them. That is enough time to apply our custom image, apply any extra appps and patches.
Since we got one of those servers on about 100 locations it means that in the best case I can deploy about 1000 systems every two hours.
That's my technical limit BUT that's not the real limit.
More important is how many users with newly installed systems can your organization handle. There will always be some machines that fails and needs to be fixed (how many non productive users can you have at the same time?). Some users will call hellpdesk
regardless of instructions, onscreen information, user training and so on. How many calls can your helpdesk handle? There will be requests for extra apps, changed screen resolution, left handed mice settings and so on, maybe printer configs? Same thing here
    - how many of these cases can your support handle?
Those are the "soft" limiting factors and so far (been doing this for about 15 years now) the "soft" limits have always been lower than the technical limit

  • Maximum number of wireless clients on a WRT54GS

I have an WRT54GS Wireless Router and want to know what is the maximum number of wireless clients that can associate to it.

Guys...by theory each access point can only accomodate 32 wireless clients. And of course it will still be on degraded performance as it can only give out ample throughput for  few.

  • How to change maximum number of client of wifi connection in cmd mode

I have a problem with my pc, that shows maximum number of client that can be connected via wifi is 4.So I want to change that. Please help...

    Hi,
It would make more sense that most routers are limited by their hardware, and will experience performance
degradation as number of devices increase. The maximum number of wireless users you can connect through your
WiFi router differs from brand to brand.
Thus I would like to suggest you contact your router's support for help.

  • Lync 2013 client - maximum number of tabs

I couldn't find what would be the maximum number of open tabbed conversations? It seems that after 25-30 conversations new tabs can't be opened and no error will come up.

    Hi,
I just opened 50+ and couldn't be bothered to continue - so I doubt what you're experiencing is a limitation of the Lync platform itself. Do you hit the same hard limit on a different machine as the same or different user account?
    Kind regards

  • Maximum number of clients on Airport Extreme base with WPA?

    http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/specs.html
In footnote number 9 Apple tells us: "Use of Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) reduces the maximum number of network users."
The normal (with WEP?) maximum of users should be 50 on a Extreme base. But how much is it reduced with WPA? Why does Apple not tell a concrete number?
I am disappointed about such useless information in technical specs. Also disappointed that Apple is putting such an important information into a footnote with small and grey letters ....
Does anyone have more concrete information?
    Thanks for answer and regards
    Joerg

I do not see any more concrete info other than what you just read. It should be said, however, that if you were intent on having 50 people connected to a single base station, WPA or not, those users are going to have a poor internet experience. Think about connecting to the internet with the old-style 1200 baud connections.
WPA uses more overhead than WEP, and way more than an unprotected network. If you are going to be having more than 10-20 people use a network for anything more than sporadic email and web usage, you would be better off employing multiple wireless networks to distribute the load, or eliminating encryption in favor of other forms of authentication.

  • [Q] Maximum Number of Concurrent Connections to 1142 LAP

We are having random issues of users not being able to connect to our wireless network consistently. The users will have successfully accessed the network previously but then will have difficulty associating to the network. After a period of time, the association appears successful again. My first thoughts were that there was a restriction on the number of clients that could associate to a given AP at any one time.
This is the equipment we have:
1x Cisco Wireless Control Server (WCS) 6.0.181.0
    4x Cisco 5508 Wireless LAN Controllers 6.0.196.0
60x Aironet 1142N Lightweight Access Points (LAP)
Is there a hard or recommended maximum number of clients per LAP? If so, where is this defined? From what I have read on these forums, Cisco apparently recommends about 25 clients per AP but I can not find any official documentation to support this.
When I go to WCS Home > General > Top APs by Client Count, the top AP reports 20 clients. However, if I click on the AP Name and go to the Current Associated Clients tab, it is only listing 8 clients - why is this?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    1.  What error messages do the clients get when they are having association/authentication issues?
There is no error message on the client, it simply fails to connect instantly. On an Android phone, you see it constantly trying to connect, failing and trying to reconnect. After many attempts (at least 10) it may connect successfully. This appears to me that it may be related to aggressive load balancing - here is what I think may be happening:
Client tries to connect to nearest LAP
Nearest LAP has to many clients on associated (as detemrined by the RRM Thresholds > Max Clients setting) and so refuses the connection (and sends a code 17 response)
Client attempts to connect to the next nearest LAP which is also too busy. It too rejects the connection.
Client attempts to connect to the third nearest LAP which is also too busy. It too rejects the connection.
And so on until it comes back to the first nearest LAP
This LAP, which still has too many associated clients, rejects the connection for a second time (its RRM Thresholds > Min Failed Clients is set to 3)
the clients tries the other APs and is also rejected as they are all set to reject connections for 3 times.
Client goes round all the APs for a third time. still getting rejected.
It then attempts a 4th connection to the nearest LAP and is allowed to associated as it is beyong the 3-attempt threshold for rejected connections.
This is my understanding of Aggressive Load balancing and would seem to match the observed behaviour of the clients but I would like to know if this is correct and how I can verify that in the logs?
This goes back to my first question, what is the max recommended number of clients for a 1142N LAP? Furthermore, is there any supporting documentation for this recommendation? Also, if I increase the RRM threshold Max clients to more than its default of 12, will the LAP accept more connections before rejecting them?
I would also like an answer to my second question in the original post.
    2.  Are you using ACS/RADIUS/TACACS?
We are using 802.1X with ACS for our corporate users on the corporate SSID but the behaviour described above is seen on guest clients that just use web passthrough (i am not sure if it is also on corporate clients, I have not seen any reports to that effect yet).

  • ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (25) exceeded ... uh?

    Hello,
I'm trying to run a distributed simulation (13 programs x host,
16 hosts) that uses oracle (normally in an HP) against oracle on
    linux.
I can't start all the programs, after about 20 clients (+-) no
other program will come up, and if i try to log to oracle with
    sqlplus i get:
    ERROR:
ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (25) exceeded
Is this a static limit imposed in the version oracle is
    distributing for testing purposes?
Also, i notice that one server process is started for each client
program. So the distributed version doesn't support multithreaded
servers? Or may be i configured it wrong?

  • Maximum number of users allowed by airport extreme 5th Gen.

I've created a roaming ethernet with wifi extension using seven AEBS.  Does any one know what is the maximum users allowed ( wired and wireless ) ?  I've been told the total number is 50 ( wired and wireless ) and I also remember reading somewhere stating that the total user allowed is 200 ( 50 wireless and 150 wired ).

    OK, thanks for the info.
So, you have 6 AEBS devices in Bridge Mode and the "main" AEBS must supply DHCP services for the entire network.
Normally, the AEBS will supply a total of about 200 IP addresses (199 actually) to connected clients. But, you could increase this up to 250 or so. The 6 other AEBS devices each get an IP address, so you are down to 193 possible IP address assignments for the entire network.
Each of the AEBS devices on you rnetwork can handle up to 50 wireless clients. Each of these clents gets an IP address from the "main" AEBS.
If you spread things out evenly with the same number of wireless clients connecting to each of the 7 AEBS devices, each AEBS could handle about 27 wireless clients.
If you changed the "main" AEBS to be able to issue up to 250 IP addresses, then you could have about 34 wireless clients connected per AEBS.
You could have a "mix" of wired and wireless clients connecting, but the total number of connections on the entire network could not exceed 193 (or about 243 if you increase the DHCP settings on the "main" AEBS).

Try posting your software, its version, and the type of connectivity you're using for oracle.
Older versions of Crystal used a proprietary Oracle ODBC driver that came with Crystal, but you should SWITCH away from using ODBC anyway, not sure why you elected to use it, it's slower and more problematic.
You'll see Oracle Server listed as a data source, that is generally the best connectivity to use.
Also, what version of Oracle is it, and what Oracle client are you using?
You might need your Oracle dbas assistance here.
Anyway, the error is not a Crystal error, it's being raised by the ODBC driver, and Oracle used to have a maximum of 1024 colums I think it was...been a while...

  • "Out of the box" or "out of my mind"? (Wired Guest from 4.1 to 5.X)

As we all know and love, the 1000 Series Access Points are no longer supported past 4.2. And I haven't quite heard the fate of the 1510 Mesh AP's either. However, I hate for this to prevent me from going to 5.X when the time comes right. Since I use Anchoring for Guest Access, and you are not supposed to anchor between 4.1 and 5.x I've come up with a "plan".
I'll leave all my 1000 Series and Mesh AP's on a 4.1 Mesh Controller and instead of anchoring the GUEST SSIDs to my DMZ Controller, I'm going to dump the WLAN to a Layer2 VLAN. On another controller at 5.x, I'm going to pick up this VLAN as a "Wired Guest". And then, I'm going to Anchor this to my DMZ Controller just like I do my Wireless Guest SSIDs.
In theory, any "Guest" users on the Mesh controller will dump on to the Wire in a VLAN that isn't routed, be picked up on the 5.x controller, be anchored to the DMZ controller, and dumped in to the DMZ like all other Wireless Guest Users.
I was waiting for 5.2 before I did it, but what do you think?

I'm trying to get asimilar solution working: I have some autonomous AP350s which I'm not allowed to get rid of, and am trying to bring guest traffic from those APs in through my controller system as wired guests.
Haven't gotten it working yet - clients are not receiving DHCP offers (although the offers are making it back to the controller from the DHCP server). Will post resolution if/when I have one.
