    Hello,
    I upgraded my machine to Win7 x64 Pro about 3 weeks ago. My HW is an Asus mobo, Intel Q9450 w/8GB RAM. The boot drives are two Raptors configured as RAID01. All the drivers are the latest available from Intel, Asus and 3rd party vendors. My WEI is 5.9, limited by the disk transfer rates, otherwise 7.1 and 7.2 on the other indexes.
    I've been receiving these errors at boot;

    Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
    As suggested above I assume this is a microsoft issue?  It has been discussed here and other forums for quite some time.  I never have seen a fix?  I wish when we received errors of this nature microsoft would tell us what they were.  How is this related to superfetch?  What is superfetch?  Why would superfetch have changed?
    BY THE WAY....  Superfetch is on(started) is on automatic and logs on as local system.  So this is not the cause of my issue.  Also what is readyboot?  Does the average computer really know what these programs/services or unique microsoft words/terms are?

  • Get report on ingress and egress ipsec traffic size per session

    Hi,
    I am looking for advice on how to best get the ingress and egress byte counts per VPN session.   I have a netflow appliance which gives me aggregated data, but I am looking for the best way to get byte size in and out per session.  I am using VPN on a Cisco IOS router (2811).
    Thanks.

    by the way there is simultaneously no B2B credits deficit on the corresponding fc port and no drops on it observed.

  • How to set a maximum download size per connection in the ASA?

    Hi, I would like to avoid big downloads so I want to set a maximum download file size. How can I set the limit MB allowed per connection in the ASA?
    Thanks

    Hello Andrew,
    I got your question, but I think we might be confused here, I did not specify something after the timeout but when you configure it you will see you have the same options
    Here is the configuration options on 8.2.5
    ciscoasa(config-pmap-c)# set connection timeout ?
    mpf-policy-map-class mode commands/options:
      dcd          Configure dead-connection-detection retry interval.
      embryonic    Configure absolute time after which an embryonic TCP connection
                   will be closed, default is 0:00:30.
      half-closed  Configure idle time after which a TCP half-closed connection
                   will be freed, default is 0:10:00
      idle         Configure idle time after which a connection state will be
                   closed.
    Now on an ASA running 8.4.4(9)
    WPLG-ASA-1(config-pmap-c)# set connection timeout ?
    mpf-policy-map-class mode commands/options:
      dcd          Configure dead-connection-detection retry interval.
      embryonic    Configure absolute time after which an embryonic TCP connection
                   will be closed, default is 0:00:30.
      half-closed  Configure idle time after which a TCP half-closed connection
                   will be freed, default is 0:10:00
      idle         Configure idle time after which a connection state will be
                   closed.
    So as you can see same options, no change at all
    Hope that I could help

  • Limit message size per recipient domain

    Is there a feature to set maximum message size per recipient domain (incoming emails) in the roadmap maybe?

    While you cannot do it by 'domains' for maximum message size limitations, you can limit the connection mail hosts.
    IE: domain1.com may use the connecting mail host of mail.domain1.com
    domain2.com may use the connection mail host of mx.domain2.com
    Then you can create new sendergroups for the respective domains mail servers to match, and with the sendergroup you will need to create a new mail flow policy with the size limits you would like to impose.
    Once this is done, simply add the mail.domain1.com into the respective sendergroup and it will impose this limitation.
    Key points to note:
    Size limits should account for MIME inflation.
    IE: 10mb limitation you want to implement should be 14MB on the mail flow policy to account for MIME inflation.
    Alternatively, if you would like to do it 'by domain'
    SImply increase your mail flow policy for the sendergroup that these domains normally match (under default it would normally be UNKNOWNLIST) and have it at 14MB (to allow for 10MB emails)
    Then run a message filter (so it gets actioned at the start)
    FilterDomain1:
    if (mail-from =="@domain1.com") AND (body-size > 5M)
    drop();
    Etc. to impose the limits this way.
    Note:
    Body size refers to the size of the message, including both headers and attachments. The body-size rule selects those messages where the body size compares as directed to a given number.

  • Sga size limits

    Hi all,
    Is there a metalink note or oracle list of the SGA size limits on the different platforms and 32/64bit?

    Not sure that there is such documents on My Oracle Support. However TECH: Unix Semaphores and Shared Memory Explained (Doc ID 15566.1) explains how Oracle is using Unix/Linux shared memory segments.
    Generally speaking I would say that maximum sga size is not an Oracle limit but an OS limit: on Unix it depends on SHMxxx kernel parameters and on Windows I don't know as Oracle architecture is quite different from Unix (a single but multithreaded process using "normal" memory).

    I would like to be able to size images by kilobytes instead of pixels--is this possible?  I use I-Contact which requires a maximum of 70kb per image.  For best quality I want to make the images as close to 70 as possible.  Currently I choose a size of 300 pixels on the shortest side but sometimes this gives me an image of slightly greater than 70kb and sometimes the image is just 30-40kb.  Is there a way to be more precise in reaching but not exceeding 70 kb?

  • Per Session Maximum Message Limit

    I have a front-end messaging server that would need to feed the messages to an Anti Spam System before these messages could be further relayed to their respective destinations/back-end messaging server.
    The Anti Spam System has a certain limit in number of messages it could receive/process per session. So, I would like to set a per session limit in the number of messages my front-end messaging server can send to the Anti Spam System in order not to have long queue at the front-end messaging server due to the receiving/processing limit set in the Anti Spam System.
    The exact version of my messaging server here is iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.21. Please advise on how could I achieve this objective of mine.

    Could you please explain the below sentence as stated in SUN documentation? =========================================
    If the option accepts an integer value, a base may be specified using notation of the form b%v, where b is the base expressed in base 10 and vb. =========================================
    For example, if I would like to set "ATTEMPT_TRANSACTIONS_PER_SESSION" to 15 messages, how do I set it based on the above highlighted sentence from SUN documentation?

  • Need to Increase SGA Size

    EBS : 12.1.3
    My Database Server RAM size is 128 gb
    Currently my Parameters are
    SGA_Target = 2g
    SGA_max = 2g
    Shared_pool_size = 600m

    net.core.rmem_max = 4194304
    net.core.wmem_default = 262144

    As My project manager is asking to increase the SGA Size as i have 128gb RAM of server.
    Maximum how much i can increase the SGA Size
    It is PRODUCTION Server... Now it's running with out any issue... but so much RAM is there y can't we use....?

    As per the Note
    Maximum SHMMAX values for Linux x86 and x86-64 [ID 567506.1]
    =======================================================================
    QUESTION 2
    ===========
    What is the maximum value of SHMMAX for a 64-bit (x86-64) Linux system?
    ANSWER 2
    ===========
    Oracle Global Customer Support officially recommends a " maximum" for SHMMAX of "1/2 of physical RAM".
    The maximum size of a shared memory segment is limited by the size of the available user address space. On 64-bit systems, this is a theoretical 2^64bytes. So the "theoretical limit" for SHMMAX is the amount of physical RAM that you have. However, to actually attempt to use such a value could potentially lead to a situation where no system memory is available for anything else. Therefore a more realistic "physical limit" for SHMMAX would probably be "physical RAM - 2Gb".
    In an Oracle RDBMS application, this "physical limit" still leaves inadequate system memory for other necessary functions. Therefore, the common "Oracle maximum" for SHMMAX that you will often see is "1/2 of physical RAM". Many Oracle customers chose a higher fraction, at their discretion.
    Occasionally, Customers may erroneously think that that setting the SHMMAX as recommended in this NOTE limits the total SGA. That is not true. Setting the SHMMAX as recommended only causes a few more “shared memory segments” to be used for whatever total SGA that you subsequently configure in Oracle. For additional detail, please see Document 15566.1, "SGA, SHMMAX, Semaphores and Shared Memory Explained"
    ==========================================================================
    Our server RAM is 128 gb.... as per the note 1/2 of the physical RAM we can assign for SHMMAX parameter... (apprx 60gb)
    How can i understood this answer for my configuration......
    Please advice...

  • Oracle 8.1.7.4 32 bit and SGA size

    hi gurus,
    OS : solaris 5.8 64 bit
    Oracle: 8.1.7.4 32 bit
    i have seen documents saying that maximum SGA allocation possible is only 1.75 GB due to 32 bit application limitation.
    is there a way in which we can allocate > 1.75 GB for the SGA granules?
    any option like /AWE in windows?
    thanks,
    charles

    OS : solaris 5.8 64 bit
    Oracle: 8.1.7.4 32 bitAs far as i know mixing 32-bit database and 64-bit operating system is not supported - as 8i is.
    Anyway with a 32-bit database you are basically limited to 2 GB per process. You can use "indirect_data_buffer" which will
    enable you to increase your database block buffers > 2 GB....

  • Important conceptual question about Application Module, Maximum Pool Size

    Hello everyone,
    We have a critical question about the Application Module default settings (taking the DB connections from a DataSource)
    I know that on the Web it is generally suggested that each request must end with either a commit or rollback when executing PL/SQL blocks "directly" on the DB without the framework BC/ViewObject/Entity service intervention.
    Now, for some reasons, we started to develop our applications with thinking that each Web Session would reference exactly one DB session (opened by any instance taken from the AM pool) for the whole duration of the session, so that the changes made by each Web session to its DB session would never interfere with the changes made by "other" Web Sessions to "other" DB sessions .
    In other words, because of that convincement we often implemented sort of "transactions" that open and close (with either commit or rollback) each DB session not in/after a single HTTP request, but during many HTTP Requests.
    As a concrete example think of this scenario:
    1. the user presses the "Insert" button. An HTTP request is fired. The action listener is executed and ends up with inserting rows in a table via a PL SQL block (not via the ViewObjects API).
    2. no commit or rollback after the above PL/SQL block is done yet.
    3. finally the user presses a "Commit" or "Rollback" button, firing the call to the appropriate AM methos.
    Those three requests consist of what I called "transaction".
    From the documentation it's clear that there is no guarantee that the couple AM istance + DB session is the same during all the requests.
    This means that, during step 2, it's possible that another user might reference the same "pending" AM/DbSession for his needs and "steal" somehow the work done via PL/SQL after step 1. (This happens because sessions taken by the pool are always rolled back by default.)
    Now my question is:
    Suppose we set the "Maximum Pool Size" parameter to very a great number (always inferior to the maximum number of concurrent users):
    Is there any guarantee that all the requests will be isolated in that case?
    I hope the problem is clear.
    Let me know if you want more details.

    Thanks for the answers.
    If I am right, from all your answers about resource avaiability, this means that even supposing the framework is able to always give us the same AM instance back from the AM pool (by following the session-affinity criterias), there is, however, no "connection affinity" with the connections from the DataSource. This means that the "same AM instance" might take the "a new DB connection", if necessary, from the connection pool of the DataSource. If that happens, that could give us the same problems as taking "a new AM instance" (that is, not following session-affinity) from the beginning, since each time an a new connection is taken (either via a new AM instance or via the same AM instance plus a new DB connection), the corresponding DB session is rolle back by default, clearing all the pending transactions we might have performed before with direct PL/SQL calls bypassing the AM services during the life cycle of our application, so that the new HTTP request will have a clean DB session to start to work with.
