Maximum volume size?

SunFriends,
How can I discover (or calculate, whatever) the maximum voume size for a volume created under Solaris 9 9/02?
Tx all for any help,
Nick

Roger
I don't know if this values are valid for Solaris 9 9/02 version. Here, we tried to make a 1Tb volume 2 days ago, and it happens, but we couldn't format it. So, we make a minor volume (+- 500Gb), and format comand could go on.
Any idea? Maybe we're doing something wrong in creation of the 1Tb vol...
Thanks for helping
Nick

  • Sun T3B T3+ maximum volume size (over two TeraBytes)?

I have a T3+ array that I have upgraded with 400GB FATA drives. When I did it I had firmware release 3.1.6.
The downside was that I could include only a max of 6 drives in a RAID 5, because going over 2TB (2.45TB with 7 disks) the volume so created was reported with the correct size, but then when I tried to slice it, the array was seeing only up to 184GB available for slicing. The same happened when making available the whole volume (slicing disabled) to attached hosts: only 184GB were seen.
I gather that this is because of the SCSI 2TB limit.
Now I have upgraded to firmware 3.2.6. In the meantime I have used the available space, therefore a backup required to destroy the volumes and try again with a greater than 6 (400GB) disks RAID 5 would take a long time.
Before getting the tapes out, I thought it worth asking if this limit has been overcome with this new firmware (at least to create a sliceable >2TB volume). I have seen that this new firmware includes also 300GB drives firmware updates, therefore I assume that if these drive sizes are supported, a 9 x 300 RAID 5 would be well over 2TB.

    Many thanks for your replies.
I have now looked at the SCSI CDB specifications and changing the CDB from 12 bytes to 16 bytes to support greater than 2TB volumes should be quite easy, having the firmware source code.
I am afraid the only support I get is through www.sun.com and forums.
I may disagree on the 2TB limit being an improvement rather than a bug. If the array supports 300GB drives, it cannot have a 9 or 8 drives RAID 5 volume, with 300GB drives a RAID 5 volume becomes limited to 7 drives, hence I consider it a bug.
Who can we contact to lobby for this update, or at least, for Sun to release the firmware source of this EOL product?
I reckon that opening the source should be a kind of standard for 'old' (if 6 years is old enough) products, in order to give owners the choice to support their hardware themselves thus relieving Sun from the support burden (costs).

  • Maximum disk size?

That's the maximum disk size or volume size supported? Thanks for any insights.

The maximum volume size, and file size, in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, is close to 8 EB (exabyte, or 10**18 bytes). The actual number is 2**63 - 2**31.

  • Volume exceeds maximum file size

    Hi,
I am trying to compress a FC7 file using Compressor. I want to compress as a ProRes and as .264 file. I have an error each time: it says: "volume exceeds maximum file size". I don't understand where it come from. I have got space on my disk. I don't have any other applications opened.
I have a MacBook Pro with dual core 2,6GH RAM.
    Thanks for your help

I have the same problem, except I'm exporting a single recording about 2 hrs 40 mins anywhere between 192-320 is fine (All I've done is trim another mp3 file down - imported originally at 3hrs 30 mins 470mb 320 kbps), it shouldn't exceed 2GB it should be way under that. Even if i try to export at 64kbps it doesnt let me.
I used to do this all the time in Garageband, I don't understand the problem. I've looked at my prefernces and menu options and I can't see a way to tackle it.
    Can someone please advise?

  • Maximum disk size for azure site recovery

    Hi everyone,
I am looking into Azure Site Recovery, and I can't seem to find the maximum disk size I would be able to replicate into Azure.  I have read some articles saying that 1TB is the maximum size, and some people have said that it is 64TB!! I have a File
Server that I would like to protect which is 4TB in size, and if the limit is 1TB I think it is very limiting...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

    Hello Robert,
The current size limits for a VM replicating to Azure are :
For an OS VHD (the vhd that has the OS Installation) : 127 GB
For a Data VHD  (<1 TB)
Is the size of your file server running on a single 4 TB volume?
    Anoop KV
    Hi Anoop,
Our File Server is currently running on a single 4TB volume.  Do I have any options with regards to replicating this VM to Azure using Site Recovery?
    Many thanks.

  • Maximum package size for data packages was exceeded and Process terminated

    Hello Guru,
When i am execute the process chain i got this message Maximum package size for data packages was exceeded and Process terminated, any body help to me in this case how can i proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh.

    Hi,
When the load is not getiing processed due to huge volume of data, or more number of records per data packet, Please try the below option.
    1) Reduce the IDOC size to 8000 and number of data packets per IDOC as 10. This can be done in info package settings.
    2) Run the load only to PSA.
    3) Once the load is succesfull , then push the data to targets.
In this way you can overcome this issue.
You can also try RSCUSTV* where * is an integer to change data load settings.
Change Datapackage size for extraction, use Transaction RSCUSTV6.
Change Datapackage size when upload from an R/3 system, set this value in R/3 Customizing (SBIW -> General settings -> Control parameters for data transfer).
IN R/3, T-Code SBIW --> Genaral settings --> Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer (source system specific)
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • Maximum folder size in 10.5.2?

What is the maximum folder size now in 10.5.2?
For around 10 years I've been using numerous partitions to organize my files and for easy backup, but I know that quite a while ago (years) the maximum folder size was dramatically increased (2GB > ?).
Has anyone had problems with these larger folders?
My files are extremely important (clients' files) so safety and stability are more important to me than anything else (i.e. the simplicity of fewer partitions perhaps).
Of course I could simply do a search for specs regarding this on Apple's website, but it would not indicate as to just how stable such huge folders have been for everyone.
Thanks for any info on this.

    I went to
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HierarchicalFileSystem
And I did carefully read the Apple white paper but still no where do I see a maximum folder size for within a volume
So I can only assume there is no maximum... that is... that you can actually have literally all of your files and folders in a volume within one folder even if it takes up 90% of the volume's/partition's space.
I originally posted this because rather than reformatting a couple of my hard drives... I was considering moving a couple of the partitions contents (each with around 40 GB of important files) to a larger partition and place each partition's contents in to individual folders. In-other-words... moving two 40 GB partitions to two separate folders within another 100 GB + partition. Thereby freeing up two 40 GB partitions without having to reformat my drives.
Anyone see a problem with that?

    Please help!!
I have tested my Application Client Project in WSAD on my pc and it works fine.

Don't know why, but the "maximum heap size: 267380736 bytes" value is just slightly less than 256*1024*1024, wheras the reported initial size is equal to that.
Try setting the initial value to 255MB.

  • How to change font size, maximum column size in the result screen ?

    hi All
That's great when using SQL Dev.
But I also have a trouble that how to change font size, maximum column size in the result screen ?
My users think that font in result screen is shown very small, and whenever the data in each colum is long then it's not shown full data in column, they must double click for extend the size. Have the option to default the max size for showing full data in each column ? I try but still not to do that .
Appreciate for anyone to help us.
    Thanks all.
    Sigmasvn

You can't change the font for the results screen yet, however you will be able to select an auto-fit option for selected columns, so if some columns have slitghtly wider text you'll be able to set the column widths to handle these wider columns.
Also, there s the option of switching the layout of a record in the grid.

  • How do I reduce the maximum volume on an iPhone app?

My sons love watching movies on Netflix and while I don't mind, my youngest tends to push the volume up to the highest volume.
Is there a way to reduce the maximum volume on an iPhone?  You can reduce the maximum volume on the music under Settings -> Music -> Volume limit but that doesn't affect apps in any way.

If the app doesn't include a volume setting for the app, the volume for the app depends on the iPhone volume setting at the time.

  • IOS 7 updates have lowered my bluetooth maximum volume. Is there a fix for this?

I am using an iPhone 4 and since the IOS 7 update (and the following update 7.0.2) I have noticed that my maximum volume level on my bluetooth earpiece is far too low. I have checked the audio levels and set to maximum on both the iPhone and the Samsung earpiece. I have turned on and off sound check, and tried both turning off and using different EQ settigs in the phones music settings. I have also used a hard and soft shut down of the phone after changing settings with no solution.
I work in a loud environment and listen to audiobooks while I work. I had no problem in the past hearing, until the next morning after I updated to IOS 7. I have used wired earplugs and the volume level is fine, just the bluetooth seems effected. Unfortunately the wired earphones do not allow me the freedom I need to perform my job.
Is there another setting or fix that I am missing, or is this just a condition produced by the update and hopefully will be rectified by anouther update in the future?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Are there any upcoming fixes/iupdates either to the software or usb cord that will fix this?
Are there any upcoming fixes/updates to the software of your Honda Accord that will fix this?  Everything works fine except when the car is put into the equation?

  • What is an idea of maximum file size for a film in Captivate?

    Hi there,
I'm creating an elearning course in Captivate 7, and it is being published as HTML5. This means the films I've imported are being converted to MP4s, and they are around 10-20mb in size once they've converted. They seem very slow to load on some computers - do you think the file size is too big? Or could it be another issue? Does anyone have a recommendation for maximum file size for films? They are 572 x 322px and around 1-2 mins in length.
    Thanks in advance

Probably better guidelines that dictates 'size' of a vi are:
typically no more than 1 video screen in size
    is it legible
and is it's function and operation clear.
I have seen examples of '1 vi does it all' that were many screens wide and tall, totally a flustercuck, and nearly 1 MB in size.
Globals and local variables (except for LV2 style) are typcially shunned for they can create a host of problems (race conditions, indeterminant data).
Use connector pane to wire controls and indicators to. Then use wires between vi's to transfer data. I tend to use clusters to hold shared data.

  • Maximum file-size for HR EIC emails

    Hi folks
We currently use EIC in ERP, and have an issue with sending large emails/attachments as the maximum file-size appears to be only 2MB. This is set in the IMG activity Employee Interaction Center (EIC) -> Interaction Center Web-Client -> Communication Channels ->E-Mail -> Define E-Mail Profiles, the attachment maximum size is set to a maximum of 2,147,483 bytes.
I have tried searching for anyone else having a similar problem, but haven't found anything. I would imagine many customers would have EIC users in a Shared Services environment sending attachments over 2 meg; so before we log a call with SAP, has anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it?
    Thanks very much.
    James

The maximum value is 2,147,483 bytes, which is what the config is set to. This seems pretty low, especially in this day and age.

  • Maximum font size for auto-sized form text

You need to let the user select a maximum font size for automatically sized text. If most of your fields are set at 10pt type, but you have one field for which you want the text to resize automatically, it looks stupid if that cell contains a small amount of text that’s set at 16pt or whatever. If you could set the maximum font size to 10pt for that field, then the text would be consistent with the text in the other fields unless there is so much text that it needs to scale down.

    Can anyone please advise?
    Cheers
