May 2007 Screenshots
Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots! You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:
$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png
Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies. You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:
http://my.site.com/thumb-screenie.png
This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:
http://dtw.jiwe.org/share/screenies/thumb-screenie.png
· If you do not have your own upload space you can upload to http://art.archlinux.org and link your shot here (with text) for discussion
· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:
http://img247.echo.cx/img247/7290/20050 … 7fv.th.png
You should use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post here
· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.
· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.
· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.

Emerald theme: Transience
Icons: SnowIsh
Wallpaper: edge by *ether
DE: XFCE
Applications: Beryl, Sonata & Terminal
PS: Can someone tell me where to find this nice info-script? I've been searching for it for a moment but without success.

Apple states that (of the MBP lines) it has to be from Mid/Late 2007 or later. yours seems to be right on the line.
Apple says
If you are running Lion, you can find out if your current Mac qualifies by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choosing About This Mac, then clicking More Info.
you must also have the latest version of Snow Leapord or Lion -

If you happen to use Archlinux PPC, you can get engage from this repo:

otherwise you'll probably need to build it from the AUR.

What editor is that at the bottom, and how did you make its statusbar look like that?
Hey!! It's emacs and I'm using this sick plugin.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing. I'm a vim user, but am going to start working through Practical Common Lisp pretty soon so I might give emacs and that plugin a try! -

Evil never looked so good. It's a netbook. DWM, statuscolors patch, urxvt. I made the wallpaper with gimp (thanks to duckshaft for the idea from last month's hilarious post). I added the icons by modifying the terminus bold 14 font. I think the bold fonts look nice in the status bar. I got the icons from bohoomil and synorgy (Tamsyn2). I believe bohoomil got them from Lokaltog. I use a status script for displaying system info with help from jasonwryan, Procyon, seiichiro0185, and others. Everything is in my configs. You'll need to change your terminal font to this to view the glyphs and to paste them and then you can change back to your normal terminal font afterwards. I didn't rename the font, I just copied it back to /usr/share/fonts/local after I edited it. It's the ter-114b.pcf.gz font. You can get instructions here, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=92895. The icons look a little small but it still looks ok I think.

Message Edited by michaels on 20-Sep-2008 03:25 PMThe issue of firmware on operator-variant models is a common sore point on these boards.
Unfortunately, Nokia's hands are tied. The operators have to approve new versions of the software before they can be applied to any phone sold to them by Nokia as their own variant.
You will probably find that the operators' customer service staff are trained only to give advice on network services, if you want answers on issues other than that you need to locate the operator's head office and pester them. If you are a contract customer, that address should appear on your bill. -
Hi, everyone,
I'm developing a plug-in for inDesign CS2 4.0.2. This plug-in is running on the client side. It requires such a functionality as sending an http request to the server side. Then the server side will response to this request by making an action to SPS portal site and return the result through web service.
Could anyone like to tell me what is the right way for me to implement above functionality. Any suggestion is appreciation.
You may contact me by any mean of the following:

Thanks a lot for your help. Could you please give me some advices on how to code independent of platform. I need my program run both on windows and macintosh. I suppose there's a way to finish my above task using cross platform soap related c++ classes. Is it right?
Looking forward to your response.

Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots! You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:
$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png
Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies. You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:
· If you do not have your own upload space you can upload to http://art.archlinux.org and link your shot here (with text) for discussion
· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:

You should use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post here
· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.
· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.ToastedToad wrote:

Maximum RAM for latest Macbook Model? (May 2007)
According to Apple the maximum RAM supported is 2GB. However as you can see on https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/MemoryBenchmark/AppleMacBook/ the Macbook can take up to 4GB!
Does anybody know the real hardware limit of the Macbook?It only uses 3 gb but if you use 4 gb you have balanced RAM for best graphics speed.
In the article you linked to it states this also.

How do you add more memory to a macbook circa 2007
how do you add memory to a macbook mid-2007?
>If you have a Mid 2007 MacBook, that can use up to 3GB RAM.
Since that model can use an odd number RAM capacity upgrade, with
a total of 3GB between two memory slot locations, you could put one
piece of RAM of 1-GB in a slot, and in the other, a 2-GB RAM chip...
Maximum Memory: 3.0 GB (Actual) 2.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots: 2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
•MacBook: How to remove or install memory
>If you have a Late 2007 MacBook, that can use up to 6GB RAM:
Maximum Memory: 6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots: 2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
Recommendations have been to check the spec and model computer
against the on-site parts suggestions for the computer model identifier
at OWC macsales.com, or check into Crucial.com for specific match
based on their information. OWC tends to be an easier way if you know
the MacBook model identifier, and if yours actually is the Mid-2007 vs
another different one. The Late-2007 can use up to 6GB RAM.
•The identifiers for Mid-2007 MacBook 13-inch:
Introduced May 2007
Discontinued November 2007
Model Identifier MacBook2,1
Model Number A1181
EMC 2139
Order Number MB061LL/A (White), MB062LL/A (White), MB063LL/A (Black)
•The identifiers for Late-2007 MacBook 13-inch:
Introduced November 2007
Discontinued February 2008
Model Identifier MacBook3,1
Model Number A1181
EMC 2200
Order Number MB061LL/B (White), MB062LL/B (White), MB063LL/B (Black)
{as you may notice, some identification numbers are recycled; for confusion sake}
Hopefully this helps somewhat.
Good luck & happy computing!
