May  EP(MSS, ESS)  use only a single universal system alias?

I notice that SAP tends to use different aliases such as SAP_ITS_XSS, SAP_ITS_MSS, SAP_ECC_TrainingManagment, etc
for different iViews.
Is that possible to use only a single  universal alias for all purposes?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Linda,
Yes, It is possible. If you think that your backend data coming from only one backend system, then you can create you custom system Landscape and but you need to manually assign system onject in all ivews(System parameter in Iview object) in ESS business content in portal content.
It is better to create SAP_ITS_XSS, SAP_ITS_MSS, SAP_ECC_TrainingManagment in system landscape if you are one or multiple backend system, then you don't need to manually update system object in iviews.
Hope it helps

Arun

    Hi Sudeesh,
I am fetching data for PO details, GR details along with condition types of PO.
All data is collected in ALV OUTPUT itab, after this I am trying to assign the values of VAT from another itab in ALV OUTPUT LOOP using READ TABLE with reference to PO-PO_ITEM-CONDITION_TYPE.
Now, when the alv loop is getting executed and in that I am fetching data for VAT using READ statement, the program is assigning VAT to all records of output alv with comparison of PO-PO_ITEM-CONDITION_TYPE.
    see:
    LOOP AT it_alv ASSIGNING <fs-alv>.
         READ TABLE it_vat ASSIGNING <fs-vat>

  • Login to multiple SAP systems using pwd of single SAP system

    Hi All,
We have 3 different SAP servers, with sids: ECD, BWD, HRD.
for each user, a user with the same username is created in all three systems.
the user does not want to maintain 3 different passwords, instead only single password to be used in all systems. i.e. when he changes the password in system ECD, the changed password should work in other systems BWD and HRD as well.
if we were using SAP EP, we checked the possiblity of username based SSO and having portal login using only on system ECD.
but we are not using the portal, and all the users will access 3 sap systems using SAPGUI.
is there any way, where one system's password will work to login to other systems.
    thanks in advance,
    Madhu_1980

    Hi Tim,
You're right about the fixed client for the MYSAPSSO2-ticket-issuing system. In the case for Java, the "client" is specified inthe UME parameter login.ticket_client. And the trusting ABAP system will have to add the Java system + "client" into its ACL (in addition to the certificate). This "client" will only play a role in that "trust" relationship.
As for launching the actual transaction via SSO, this is how it works.
SAPGUI transaction will be launched by a thing called Portal transaction iview. That iview will have a parameter called the System Object. The System Object will determine which ABAP system-client it will connect and logon on to. So if you want to logon to multiple clients, then create one System Object for each of the system-client combination, and then create transaction iviews to each of the corresponding system object. The iviews will be presented to the user which then allows the user to launch the transaction iview (specificy SAPGUI link in the iview property)

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 - AME export back to using only a single core

I've had this problem before (as have others) and it seemed to go away for a while.  It's back.  Basically the problem is that exports from PP CC 2014 take much longer when sent through AME than if they are done within PP itself.  The time problem is the result of AME only using one CPU for the export whereas export within PP uses all 8 (in my case).  I've tried all the hints I could find (turn off parking in the registry and make sure the "performance" power option is selected) but nothing works now.  Basically I have to avoid AME totally.  It doesn't matter what type of output format I've chosen or what effects I have.
My system is an up to date Windows 7 system with 16GB and a CUDA-compatible NVIDIA graphics card.  Plenty of hard drives, etc.
I believe this problems been around for quite a while.  I don't know what made it come back for me unless it was some recent Adobe or Microsoft patch.

I've a similar system, and renders/exports of any kind never use more than 29% of CPU. Getting frustrated. Got my builder coming to take a peek.

  • Can you create apps after 1st May 2015 using Adobe DPS single edition?

Can you create apps after 1st May 2015 using Adobe DPS single edition?
I currently have SE via creatieve cloud - one of the only reasons we switched to CC was for the DPS SE.
Does anyone know if this capability will just be 'switched off' at midnight 1st May 2015?? There are huge costs for going the enterprise route but with no date in sight for Publish to be launched I am not sure I can wait for this, or should I???

Adobe states: Please note that the Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition, service will be available for use until May 1, 2015, but beyond that date the service will no longer be available.
So essentially my licence will expire on 1st May - Adobe's note just mentions 'service' -  even though part of CC and I will not be able to maintain my app or create any more IPA's after 1st May. I can't beleive there is nothing to switch over to other than paying thousands of pounds for enterprise??
Just all so vauge, feels like a plug is going to be pulled and thats it??? Maybe I am missing something?

  • Is it possible to translate MSS/ESS WDJ content without using NWDS?

Hi there, is it possible to translate MSS/ESS WDJ content without using NWDS? CTRL+Right Click allows only to hide the text element, portal content translation doesn't allow to translate Web Dynpro Java content.

    Hi,
Using CtrlRight click you can modify the names, hide the text . on the ESS/MSS ivew's preview  and cTrlright cllick.
then you will get options to hide, change the text . etc.
For deploying, changing  the WDJ files you need NWDS. without NWDS it's not possible

Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, isn't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen.  Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document.  Any ideas?

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

  • How to query on a single row form using only one page

Hi APEX experts, I am just a beginner in apex and I face several problems on development. Despite that the forum helps me a lot and your answers to other people are valuable , I have stacked into something. Could you please someone tell me : if there is a way to define a single row form page based on table in which I could query and update without using a tabular page (to call the single row form). I want only to use only one page. Does APEX has this functionality? Thank you very much?

I haven't tried it, but I am going to guess that yes it's possible (or if I were going to do this, this is what I'd try and I suspect it will work).
If you take a moment and step back and look at what the wizard does when building a "form on a table with report", all it does is build two pages with page 1 (report overview with drill-down Edit button or link usually) calling page 2 (form) and setting the PK field on the page 2 form with an automated row fetch process and built-in DML processes. It's not that hard.
Page 2 really doesn't care what the calling page was in order to query a single row; it just cares that ANY caller sets the primary key value for the ARF process to fetch a row. So I would just make page 2 call itself. This is what I'd do (and you might have to fine-tune little things that I might not have forseen but I think this will work).
For the sake of example, let's say our table is PARTS and in it is a PART_ID, PART_NUMBER, PART_DESCRIPTION, PART_COST, etc. Assume PART_ID is the primary key and sequentially assigned by the DB in a trigger and is functionally meaningless to the user and is for PK purposes only. Let's assume PART_NUMBER is a unique key (although not the PK) by which the user will "know" a unique row (since the PK of PART_ID is more internal and not meaningful to the user). Assume PART_DESCRIPTION, PART_COST, etc. are just attributes.
    1. Use the wizard and build a "form on a table with report". This is just to get the handy dandy ARF process and DML processes, validations, etc. all generated for you. Let's assume the report page is Page 1 and the form is Page 2.
    2. When done, delete the report page entirely (so delete page 1).
    3. Edit the form page (page 2) and change any branch references from the nonexistent page 1 to now be page 2.
Now here's the part where something has to set the internal P2_PART_ID field when page 2 is run. So why not set it from itself from something the user will uniquely enter?
    4. Create a P2_PART_NUMBER_FETCH item (text item is fine or if you want a LOV or whatever that's good too....whatever works. For clarity, you might even want to create a separate "search" or "query" region separate and above your existing form region to set this field apart visually so users know it's a search field. Source for this field should be "only when current value in session state is null".
    5. Created some sort of "GO" button to go along with the P2_PART_NUMBER_FETCH field.
    6. Make sure none of your existing post-submit processes fire when GO is pressed (edit all of the computations and validations and processes and ensure that they have conditions such that they do not fire when the submit value is "GO", so like a PL/SQL expression and set to v('REQUEST')<> 'GO').
    7. Add a new validation to your page that only fires when GO is pressed. Have it validate only when GO is pressed. Have it validate that P2_PART_NUMBER_FETCH is not null.
    8. Add a new PL/SQL process to your post-submit processing that only fires when GO is pressed. Have it look up to the database based on P2_PART_NUMBER_FETCH and get the PART_ID that corresponds to the part number the user entered and set the part number, something like this (even better for style and reusability if you embed this in a DB package function and call it):
    SELECT part_id
    INTO :P2_PART_ID
    FROM PARTS
    WHERE PART_NUMBER = :P2_PART_NUMBER_FETCH;
    9. Not sure if the branches that were generated will suffice for this (might need to add a new one...review what you have and see) but the bottom line is that the page should branch to itself (page 2) and not clear the cache.
    10. When the page repaints, since :P2_PART_ID is now populated in session state (again, page 2 should not care how it got populated...only should care that it did get populated by anything (including itself)), the automated row fetch (ARF) should fire and query up the row from the database for editing.

  • Using settings to spool only a single header line

I'm trying to create an output file using spool that has a single header line showing the column names -- I've figured out how to suppress them using page size or heading, but I have not found any documentation yet on how to display only a single heading in my output. Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thank you.

    Hi
The results of your query should be sent to a file which you can use later.
The command that you must include in your script is:
    spool <path>/<filename>
    spool off
For each record to appear on a single line, you should use the command:
    set linesize <length of line>
    hope this helps!

  • How can I get the language of the user logged on using only DI API?

    Hello,
how can I get the language of the user logged on using only DI API,
    without invoking the UI?
Can I read the value from some table using sql?
I could write to file the first user's connection to the language code in SAP and then use it from external program, but I do not like this solution ...
    I know only this possibility:
            '_SboCy ==> SAPbobsCOM.Company
            '_SboCys ==> SAPbobsCOM.CompanyService
            '_SboApp ==> SAPbouiCOM.Application
CodLng Dim As String = ""
            Dim lng As SAPbobsCOM.UserLanguages _SboCy.GetBusinessObject = (BoObjectTypes.oUserLanguages)
            If lng.GetByKey (_SboApp.Language) Then
                codLng = lng.LanguageShortName
                'Etc. ..
            End If
            lng = Nothing
    Thanks

    Hi Enrico,
The language settings are held on the user's Windows profile and not in the database. In SBO 2007A onwards there is an XML file that is created by the SBO client (previous versions stored the information in the registry). The file is called b1-current-user.xml and you'll find it in the temporary application data under the user's profile (by default this will be C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One for Windows XP). This XML file contains a node that looks like the following:
    <leaf kind="single" name="Language" type="String">
         <value>8</value>
    </leaf>
where the value is the language id that should correspond to the same setting in the DI API. If your application will always run on a workstation where the SBO client is installed then you could read this XML file. Of course, this file may not exist for a particular Windows user if they have never opened the SBO client so you'd need to have a default setting.
If you application will be installed on a workstation which doesn't have an SBO client installed on it then there is no way to tell what default language to use and you'll need to build this logic in to your own application (eg have a screen where the user can choose their preferred langauge and then store this as a config file in a similar way to how the SBO client works).
    Kind Regards,

  • Is it better to use ASM if my DB uses only one disk ?

    Hello
I am planning to install a NEW database 11g R1 on a new windows server.
I am running a 9.2 DB and will export its data to the freshly installed 11gR1.
I ma wondering if i have to use the ASM feature ?
The dabatase files are small : 52 Gb, and it will keep on one disk.
I have understood that the main benefit of using ASM in automatic multi disk storage.
Does it worth to use it on my small DB ?
Thank you for your kind answers.
    Christian

If you want to learn ASM then using it with a single disk system and just creating the diskgroups to not use Oracle redundancy is an option. Also one of the things ASM is designed to provide is async IO, that is, easy managment of raw partitions. Depending on your platform ASM may be desirable from this point of view.
Also does a one disk set-up today mean only a one disk set-up tomorrow? It is possible to migrate a database to a new disk server via ASM while the database is running. You create a mirror, allow it to populate, and then remove the original disk. The database data files are now on a new disk storage unit.
But ASM is by no means required or necessary. You just want to consider all the options it provides and the headaches it brings to determine which set of values: use or not, is right for your situation.

  • Portal role in MSS/ESS

can we use the new MSS/ESS without the Portal? the new MSS/ESS are based on WebDynpro, and WebDynpro applications run as stand-alone J2EE applications.
    thanks in advance

The new MSS/ESS based on web dynpro is tightly integrated with Enterprise Portal and utilizes a lot of functionality from portal. So while it may be theoretically possible to access some parts without portal, but for production use one is better off with going the integrated with portal route.

  • MSS/ESS in Europe

Do you know that Bosnia and Azerbaijan have country MSS/ESS portal screens as part of the offering?

    HI,
Check it out by following infomration
    Country-Specific Services
    Use
In this IMG activity, you define country-specific services. When an employee starts a service, the system determines the employee's country grouping and checks if there is a country-specific service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
If there is a country-specific service definition, the system uses this definition.
If there is no country-specific service definition, the system uses the general service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views. If the general service definition does not contain a resource object, the system does not display the service (see example 2).
This enables you to define country-specific variations of services for certain countries while using a general service definition for all other countries.
    Activities
    Examples
    Example 1
Your company has employees in seven different countries:
    Germany (01)
    Austria (02)
    Switzerland (03)
    Canada (07)
    USA (10)
(Number in brackets = country grouping)
The service for displaying a salary statement is the same for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For Canada and the USA, you need services with additional content.
You define a general service for displaying the salary statement in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
You define two additional services for the country groupings 07 and 10 in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
When an employee from Germany, Austria or Switzerland starts the service for displaying salary statements, the system uses the service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
When an employee from Canada or the USA starts the service for displaying salary statements, the system uses the service definition in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views.
    Example 2
Your company has employees in two different countries:
    Germany (01)
    Switzerland (03)
(Number in brackets = country grouping)
There is a service that is only relevant for employees from Switzerland.
You define a general service without a resource object in the V_T7XSSSERSRV and V_T7XSSSERSRVC views.
You define a country-specific service with a resource object for country grouping 03 in the V_T7XSSSERSRVCG and V_T7XSSSERSRVCGC views
This service is only displayed for employees in Switzerland.

I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.
