  • Start LabVIEW in evaluation mode

    Hello All,
I am building an NI Dev Suite unattended/silent install which includes LabVIEW 2013, TestStand 2013, Switch Exec, some reuse libraries etc.
The installer works fine. After an automatic restart, I need to apply a configuration (automatically) using VI Package Manager and this requires LabVIEW to be working without prompts for licences etc.
Anyone know of a way to start LabVIEW in evaluation mode by default. Any ini tokens / registry entries may be?
I also need the same thing to happen with TestStand as I need to install some configuration to TestStand too.
All of the software will then be licensed by the user afterwards. I would like to avoid building two installers if I can help it.
    thanks in advance.

  • Labview Evaluation Software overlay

Hi, I migrated my test software environment from LabView2009 and TestStand4.2.1 to LabView2011 and TestStand2010. Test software is then installed on the target machines where is licensed only TestStand RunTime, while LabView adapters is configured to use RunTime Engine, then no license is required.
The test sequences call some VIs and display the front panel requiring operator actions. After the migration of new versions the front panel has overlay the notice: Labview Evaluation Software (see attachement). This is very noisy!
Is there any way to remove this overlay? Exept licensing Labview of course.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Create installer without labview

    Hi,
Is it possible to create an installer without LabVIEW? I am supporting Windows 2000 through 7 and the versions of NI software varies with each OS, specifically when dealing with oscilloscopes running Windows due to VISA conflicts.
The two main problems I have with creating installers with LabVIEW (Application Builder):
    1) Windows 2000 requires the Product Framework before 2.8.0. This makes it impossible for installers to run on Windows 2000 that require product installation newer than 2.8.0 which is basically every installation for Windows 7.
    2) As far as I am aware, the required software has to be installed on a local machine first before creating an installer. Then you navigate to the Additional Installers section when creating an installer to add to the installation. The location path will point to the orignal CD drive or location it was installed from on the local drive. I don't see why this required. Why can the installer be created directly from the extracted files without it being installed on machine?
    Thanks

Wow guys, thanks for two blatent insults. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all.
    A little further explaination:
Supporting and maintaining Windows 2000 in 2014, I agree, is cumbersome. However, you have to realize these oscilloscopes that run Windows 2000 in 2014 still cost upwards of $8,000 to replace and the operating system cannot be upgraded. Why do they still cost so much? Because they are very useful tools. And new ones cost $20,000 to $30,000. I don't think that this effort is "los[ing] [the company's] ability to make a profit".
For those of you that are interested in the orignal question posted here is my solution.
I used SFX Builder (http://sourceforge.net/projects/s-zipsfxbuilder/) to bundle NI's software into a single executeable file. Heres the steps:
    1) Download all necessary NI software
    2) Download SFX Builder
    3) Download 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/)
    1) Extract all NI software into a single folder and use 7-zip to compress into a .7z archive
    2) Open SFX Builder and add the .7z archive to the File tab
    3) You can easily set the path of extraction to anywhere on the computer, the temp (%temp%) is the most useful
    4) On the Tasks tab click the add/plus button and select Run Program, then enter the path where the extraction happened, here is an example
    5) Easy peasy!

  • Online Labview evaluation: opening my files

    Hi,
it seems that I can not open previous version Labview files (6 ver) in either online evaluation Labview Express 7 (it seems it gives me just remote directories) or downloaded version (it says that files are not signed). I don't recall that I had to do the signing before and of course my previos files are not signed.
Can you advise me what to do to see my previous files?
    Thanks,
    Gordana

    Hello Gordana,
The online evaluation version of LabVIEW is housed on remote servers and is not capable of opening files from a local machine.
The issue with the downloaded version of LabVIEW giving an unsigned message is probably due to it being installed in LabVIEW player mode. In LabVIEW player mode only specific, signed demonstration VIs can be opened. You can turn it into an evaluation version by reinstalling it and choose eval mode.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Regards,

Have you tried re-installing the Real-Time module (both on the target and the PC)?
    Have you verified it's activated?
Have you tried re-installing the evaluation license files? http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2068/lang/en
In other words, what have you tried?

  • Is LabVIEW in evaluation mode more slowly?

    Hello,
I tried my LabVIEW 8.2 program on a PC with LabVIEW in evaluation mode. I was surprised how slowly the program was. After activation from LabVIEW the program runs much quicker. I will often install LabVIEW by customers in evaluation mode during the implementation phase.
So it's important for me to know if LabVIEW is in evaluation mode noticeable more slowly than after activation.
    Thanks for answers

  • Is it possible to download the LV code to pda in LabVIEW evaluation version?

Is it possible to download the LabVIEW code to pda in LabVIEW evaluation version?
    For example:
I want to select New » Targets and Devices from the shortcut menu to open the Add Targets and Devices dialog box as shown in the below Figures.
Is it possible to do the same in evaluation version of LabVIEW 8.0

    Prasada,
In order to target a PDA device, you will need to have the PDA module installed. Fortunately we do have evaluation software also available for the LabVIEW PDA Module 8.2. Once this has been installed, you should be able to target your PDA device. Please post back if you experience any trouble. Thanks,

  • Does labVIEW evaluation software have relay swtiches?

hey. my question is very simple. basically i'm trying to model a control system using labview evaluation software that i downloaded onto my laptop (windows xp). i know there is a simple SPST switch that is included, but i need a SPDT and DPDT (although the latter is not as important). am i just missing their location in labview? or is there anywhere to obtain these items?

What is the control system you are trying to model?
Here is a link to some the eval version of some products (Control Design and Simulation, System Identification, PID control and more)
    https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/us/evaltlktcds/content.xhtml
Also, you can build your own control based on xcontrols. Use the SPST to create your won SPDT and DPDT and post it online!

  • Labview evaluation software download area

Apologies if it has been posted before.
Here is a link to where you can download Labview evaluation and associated toolkits etc.

The evaluation download is fully functional. Did you install any of the device drivers? You don't mention the hardware you want to use to make a voltage measurement. For example, to use an NI DAQ board, you will need DAQmx from the device drivers. Installing this and some of the other drivers will give you functions on the LabVIEW palette as well as additional example VIs.

  • Upgraded to SP1 and now in evaluation mode

Hi, I bought the student edition of LabVIEW 2010 some months ago. I'm developing an application, and when I went to the message boards for help I noticed SP1 was available. I followed the links and downloaded and installed it. Now most my main program and the application builder are in evaluation mode instead of registered as the student edition.
I spoke to a very unhelpful person at the phone number provided by the application who pointed out that I don't have phone support and directed me here. (Why the program provides a phone number to a person without a phone contract is beyond me.) Anyway, she also mention that I wasn't supposed to have service pack updates. So now I need to either get back to the regular student edition, or get new codes or something. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hi Zealousky,
Have you tried to activate your student version again after you downloaded SP1?  You can do this by going into license manager and highlighting the "student version" under LabVIEW and clicking the "Activate" button.  The professional version has more features than the student version, so the license may have been defaulted for the 30 day trial as a way for you to try out new features, but you should be able to activate your full license any time.

  • How can I get Measurement Studio out of Evaluation Mode in Windows XP

I have a licensed Measurement Studio version 7.1.  for Visual Studio 6.   I have been using this no problem on a Windows 2000 computer.   I installed this on my WindowsXP computer and it installs all the VB libraries put not the C++ libraries.  I message pops up stating that I need Service Pack3 for WindowsXP.    First of all, I don't think service pack 3 for Windows XP exists yet.  Luckily, I have been able to still use all my DataSocket components.  I believe Datasockets are part of Measurement Stuidio.   I notice that CWgraph has evaluation mode on the graph and I get a popup message in VB6 stating I'm using Measurement Studio in evaluation mode.

    Hello,
The service pack in question is not for Windows XP.  The Measurement Studio installer required the VC++ 6 service pack 3 or higher.  I know that Microsoft has a service pack 6 for Visual C++ 6, and this is what you should install to get the C++ libraries on your machine.
There is a tool on the CD that is in the ActiveXLicenseFixer folder that you can run to fix up the license.  If you have a valid license on the machine it will correct any licenseing issues.
