May I go back to 4.1 please ?

Question

I'm sure 4.2 is full of goodies. But......
I'm W7 x64 with an SSD + 8Gb of RAM. It runs like a dog, no worse, a hippo climbing El Capitan. slow.slow.slow.
On 4.1 I could set it as the default program, I could open files using Lighroom 4.1 ( + before) as a Windows option.
This has dissappeared. I cannot right click an image & open it with Lightroom...no matter what I do.
I apologise I'm not intetested in the fixes.
I just want something that worked as 4.1 did.
Please point me in the direction of  ' how to go back to ...'

If you want to import files into Lightroom as a default do this:
1 . Open a directory on your computer with the type of file
2. Right-click on the file and select Edit in
3. If Lightroom doesn't show choose browse and then select Lightroom.exe from the directory in which it is installed
    (Usually C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2)
Note that this association wont let you "EDIT" but will display the Lightroom Import dialog to import the file into the library where you can then import into your catalog.
You cannot edit files directly in Lightroom.
