You need to reset the external image editor in iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to the right version. I assume there's an Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 folder in your Applications folder. This screenshot is for PSE 10 but would be the same for 12:

My ipod is using an old email account for icloud the email no longer excists so i cant log in, what do i do?

i am trying to reset my brothers ipod touch to factory settings and to delete all of the data so that we can sell the ipod, but we were originally using an old apple id account that now no longer exists, our email was with a company (optus) that we were using but we are not with optus anymore so that email no longer exists, we are now using gmail for our new apple id and there have been no troubles logging in with our new apple id, although we are trying to log into icloud on the ipod touch so that we can turn off 'find my ipod' so that we can restore the ipod, but its asking for the old apple id password which does not exist anymore, the email also does not exist so i cant reset the password or anything, what do i do? please help i have tried many things but nothing seems to work

If the original registration was Mac and QT 7, then it should still be good. However, you are not supposed to be using it on two different platforms/applications at the same time. If the old computer is no longer in use and/or the the Pro registration has been removied, then you sould be okay.

Old Photoshop Album Tags used in Lightroom?

I have a very old but often used Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 product with about 8,000 photos tagged. I also have a very old version of PhotoShop CS I use.
I am trying to avoid going back and setting tags (again) for that many photos. If I upgrade and get Lightroom - will it read the "tags" associated with the photos that I set using Adobe Photoshop Album (and allow me to stop using that old product)?

Not completely certain about PSE2, but I successfully imported from PSE3 and that worked OK. I believe there's a couple of ways you can do this. Firstly if you write the tags out to the original image files first (I seem to recall an option in PSE3 to explicitly do this) and then just import the image files, the tags should be recognized. Alternatively I think you can actually import the PSE catalog, in which case the tags will be directly picked from there instead (or as well!).
Suggest you just download the free 30 day trial of LR and experiment a little before committing your $$$ (or GBP, EUR, etc.). I had a few gliches, but it basically worked in the end.

I just made the laptop jump away from towers and am a little shocked by how much difference a smaller scratch disk makes. Can I use my old tower as a scratch disk to help out my new Macbook Pro?

Hm. It sounds like you know what you are talking about, and apparently I don't. I was just going to plug in a firewire cable to both and hoped that magically scratch disk would appear as an option for my tower.
Cant I somehow boot the tower as using as a hardrive only? Or applesharing or something else?

You should deactivate them on the old machine if you no longer intend to use them there. Serial numbers are version specific so yours will only work with version 10.

If I understand correctly holders of licenses of older versions than CS2 are entitled to install and use Photoshop CS2.
Maybe you could read up on that and, in case you want to pursue that option, make sure your OS and Photoshop CS2 »play nice«.

Sure, we could tell you to get PS CS6 Extended and have all the options (which you may never use), but jsut as well PSE or Fireworks could suffice....
