Maybe a problem with Z77A-GD55

Hello,
I think I may have a some kind of a problem with my motherboard. After an upgrade I installed windows 7 64bit and took a brief look, ran some test and one thing stood out, that one temperature sensor always shows more than 60 degrees(TMPIN1), is it normal? I haven't installed any MSI utilities and haven't looked what bios version I have. If it is necessary I can post it when i get back home.

hansip87, to relieve any anxiety, recommend to submit a ticket to MSI Tech Support and ask them if PCH is a sensored reading. My guess is it is bogus. I have a Z68 that reads -24C for TMPIN1 for an example. The PCH can also be checked and confirmed by using an IR thermal device.

Impossible boot with Z77A-GD55

Hello.
First of all,my english is very BAD,so i'm sorry for errors.
I have a PC with a Z77A-GD55 Motherboard.It worked great for 2 months,but now i can't boot my PC.
When i try to boot it,the case fans and the CPU fan spin,but after 10 seconds the boot process stop and 2-3 seconds later it restarts.I can't access windows and the Bios too.
Where is the problem?I was thinking to update my BIOS but i don't know how to do it without entering windows or the bios.
Please help me!

Take machine apart and try barebone as you already did (only PSU and Motherboard with Ram,CPU and CPU Cooler) outside of case on a non conductive surface (e.g. wood).

Boot problems with Z77A-G45

As the motherboard was sold as Ivy Bridge ready, I'd like soe way of confirming this as most likely cause before paying for some fix.

I am using MSI H77MA-G43 (BIOS v1.5), and a set of DDR3-1600 4GB RAM x 2.
When i am using both 2 pcs of RAM, i am facing the same problem:

When I use 1 pc of DDR3-1600 4GB RAM, it works again.
I just wonder if there is some RAM compatibility problem with MSI motherboard...I have tried below 2 sets of RAM:
AMD DDR3-1600 4GB x 2 (1.5V) (AE38G1609U2K-U)
Kingston HYPER-X DDR3-1600 4GB x 2 (1.65V) (KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX)

Please supply your full system spec.
Your RAM is 1,65V overvolted DDR3-1600.
Only add one module as per the instructions. Then do a full CMOS clear with power cord removed. >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
Afterwards go into the BIOS and set that memory to 1333, (ensure that XMP is disabled for now). Set the DRAM voltage to 1,5V. Retest and advise.

Problems with Z68a-gd55 g3 and msi 660 gtx oc ed.

Bought the 660gtx card last week and have been pulling my hair since.. been getting the no post problem with the new card as some other ppl here I see.
from what I gather it's a bios update which is making the combo of these cards to work properly the msi liveupdate took me up to n.70 and that didn't help after reading a couple of posts here i found out about the beta updates for my bios.
Beeing a bit new when it comes to flashing I thought I'd make myself sure at what update to use.
In another post the tip was using .n88 is it still the best to use?

yes it's sandy bridge however I seem to do something wrong with the bios update. using the MSI Forum HQ USB Flashing Tool and ran it got the .n88 on there set the bios to boot from it, got a press any key to boot from usb key then it shoot directly to win logo and starts windows.
Running the usb flashing tool program again and it says I got the BIOS Version: VN.8B8 (aka Version: V23.8B8) and a restart later it reverts back to BIOS Version: VN.7 (aka Version: V23.7)
First time I shut down windows after it started and did a clearcmos.
I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong.
Might as well post my system while I'm at it.

almost forgot second time I tried I updates as before and didn't do a clearcmos just turned off the computer plugged the 660 gtx in and started this time I got 2 beeps from mainboard then nothing. then silence for a while then two beeps again until I turned off the computer put my old 250 gts back in and the bois had reverted back to VN.7 again.
without the update and the 660 gtx the update fans running hd runs a bit then nothing btw.

Iphone 4s siri and notifications issue? Maybe a problem with one of my processors??

Okay, so let me try to lay this out. Bottom line is, I am pretty sure it's an issue with something in my phone, but it isn't consistant enough to show to someone at the apple store, I've already tried haha.
So it's a relativly new phone, I got it late June of this year, 32 GB black (if those matter for anything) 4s. Before we continue, YES, I am exiting all my apps fully, quite often (nearly every hour or two). And I restart my phone every 3 or 4 days, I sync it with i-tunes pretty regularly, etc.
Some of the issues I'm having
1. Notifications
     When I get notifications (almost always texts, and I think I may have figgured this one out but it's ****** if I'm right) and I swipe THE NOTIFICATION in my lock screen, to open the message thread or call someone back, it will swipe, but it's like I only swipe it halfway, even when it show it being swiped all the way, and it just flys back to the left and doesn't react (doesn't go to the message). i'll swipe a few times and sometimes it will finally work. As it's gone on (for 2 months or so now) it's gotten so that it drops the message halfway throgh, even though I'm sure I didn't let go of the screen. I thought maybe my touch overlay there might be going bad or somehting but it happens all over the screen (top, middle, bottom, etc) when the notification is in a different location because of how many notifications i have.
     It doesn't seem to be related to the amount of notifications I have, or how long I've had them, or battery life, etc.
     It does seem to happen most with my girlfriends texts, I'd imagine the only corolation here is either that she texts me more often so just overall I do it more often to her, or that our text thread is really long. But it still happens even with short threads, or when there are no previous messages from that person. Just an idea.
2. Siri.
     I'll give siri a command. Very simple commands, and very complex alike, she (well i changed it to he, but it happens on both) won't react. "Call Laura" and the little circle orbiting the microphone will just spin. and spin. and spin. No "I didn't catch that" or "calling laura" or "calling craig". Just spinning. I hit the home button, try again, same story. Close all my apps. Same story. It used to be that I could re-start my phone and that would help, but even that doesn't work probably 80% of the time anymore.
Both of these problems happened in both IOS 5 and 6... So I'm lead to believe it's some sort of hardware problem. The reason I'm guessing processor is simply because I feel like my phone is not a LOT slower than other 4s', but noticably slower, It doesn't just react, it takes a second.
Also, this happened for the first time today, but with my Iphone luck i feel like it might happen again, I had something opened and needed to get to my home screen, so obviously I pushed the home button, nothing happened instantly, so I waited a second or so, nothing still so I pushed home again and the popup for open apps came up. So OBVIOUSLY it registered my first home button push, if it counded the second as a second push, but I am sure I waited long enough for it to have gone home after the first push. I pushed home for a third time, the menu went away and my home screen came up. No other crazy stuff going on.
and finaly, the reason I was prompted to finaly ask this. Back to the notification thing, I had a text (not my girlfriend so like i said, this happens with all texts). Swiped the notification over, phone shuts off. Not imedatly, it shows the apple surounded by black. then it turned itsself back on.
I love apple products, simply because they are simple and work. Androids always seem to slow down, they freeze up with age, etc. But this is very un-apple product-like. And I'm sure there's some fix for it.

Problems with built-in camera. maybe just problems with photo booth?

My camera works fine in video chat, like with skype, but in photo booth the effects don't work properly. The menus of effects are scrambled and instead of the squares of previewed effects that you select from, I only see warped images and text. When I select an effect, the camera is either zoomed in oddly, or the picture frame is shifted over halfway over to the left to the point where I can't see part of the image. The rest of the screen is either green or black when the latter happens.
I have re-installed the newest version of photo booth several times, but this problem keeps coming up-- it was like this when I first got it. I have also tried to find the file where the preferences are kept, but it doesn't seem to exist.

I just figured out that problems I was having with iSight were because of a widget I had downloaded ... it's basically a 'mirror' widget ... it would play in the background ... and was disabling the iSight camera (message like 'you can't use PhotoBooth because you have another application open etc) ... doesn't sound like this is your problem but just for reference in case anybody else is having problems and has that widget you have to lose the widget to be able to use iSight.

Network problems with 990XA-GD55

I have recently changed to BT Infinity broadband and when it works I get 30meg down and 5 up.There seems to be something wrong with the onboard network as during the day it will drop back to 2meg up and down. I then do a rollback of the network driver and it kicks into life again. I have used an old PCI card and it does the same thing Yesterday I did a live update and it installed a new network driver that would not work at all so rolled back to the old one today. My laptop works fine, solid a a rock, hard wired or wifi, so it must be something in the motherboard. Any suggestions?

Check with your new broadband about possible service problems. It's works fine..you change ISP and it no longer does. I would start there.

Problem with Z77A-G43 After bios updating

Hi guys
I purchased my main a week ago, the bus of my rams are 1600 but main detect it 1333. So i updated my bios of 2.7 to 2.10 with live update 5, after the updating progress finished my pc restarted, it doest give any picture and after 20 sec reastart again and again!
I shorted the jumper, i brought out the battery but it didn't have any result. Please tell me a solution. And forgave me for my poor english. My pc:

Core i5 3570k
Sapphire 7790 dualX

RAM defaulting to DDR3 1333 is common as the SPD profile of the chips is set for that. For 1600, either manual setting is required or X.M.P. can be tried if the modules have X.M.P. profile.
Live Update bricked your board. Solution is to take the mainboard to a shop with an SPI flash programming device, or obtain RMA for an MSI Service Center, or contact your reseller for instruction.

Problem with z77a-g45 and gtx660tf

Hi everyone! I've just purchased a gtx660 tf and it works fine on windows. The problem is that everything before loading the os is not fullscreen but smaller than the monitor. The mainboard splash screen almost all the time is full screen but non always. I've tried to boot gparted live and it's always not fullscreen, same as grub bootloader. The monitor is connected by hdmi and i suppose it's not a driver problem since it happens before the os, but there must be an option to set in the mainboard's bios but don't know which one.
Can someone please help me?

Problem with T400 and external monitor (1920x1200 resolution)

ThinkPad T400 2767-C99* (graphics is: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 256MB / X4500MHD (Switchable Graphics)), OS is WinXP
I just installed the newest video driver from the lenovo page (which also installs "ATI catalyst")
Externale Monitor:
I just bought a Samsung SyncMaster 2443FW, 24" TFT monitor with maximum resolution 1920x1200
Problem:
Monitor works great with my newer T400s and my old Acer laptop. However, with my T400 (described above), I can't make the monitor use the 1920x1200 resolution. However, all the other resolutions look ugly so I need it to work with 1920x120
- If i change the resolution by rightclicking on the Windows XP desktop (and then properties=>settings) and set the screen resolution there to 1920x1200, then my monitor only used a lower resoltion (1440x900) and I get a scrolling effect as I move my pointer across the screen
- if I use ATI catalyst software to set the resolution, I can only chose smaller resolutions (it does no go up to 1920x1200)
Questions
Is that a hardware (maybe the graphic card does not support 1920x1200) or a software problem (maybe some problem with the driver) or just a matter of setting?
What can I do?
Help would be very much appreaciated!

there are plenty of instances where the official driver have glitches... just look around the forum to find instances of which.... while official drivers maybe better in most instances, there are always the odd case where it doesn't work as well as it should. If they perfectly out of box, then there would never need to be multiple revisions and updates.

Problem with column selection in GUI_DOWLOAD

Hi everyone !
I want to save data from an internal table to a DAT file using GUI_DOWLOAD. In this internal table, there are 2 colums that won't be downloaded so I call the FM this way :
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
         EXPORTING
              FILENAME                = L_FILE
              FILETYPE                = 'DAT'
              COL_SELECT              = 'X'
              COL_SELECT_MASK          = V_COLSELECT
         TABLES
              DATA_TAB                = TAB_OUT
              FIELDNAMES              = TAB_FIELDNAMES.
V_COLSELECT contains an 'X' for each column I need to be downloaded and a space for the 2 other columns.
In the result file, the columns that I didn't select don't appear BUT there are 2 columns with no header and filled with zeros at the right edge of the file. I don't know where these 2 columns come from. Maybe a problem with fieldnames but I'm not sure (in TAB_OUT, all columns are present but in TAB_FIELDNAMES there are only headers for the selected columns).
If anybody have an idea, please just tell me.

Try to keep fields same in TAB_FIELDNAMES and TAB_OUT. because anyway you are using COL_SELECT_MASK.
I think you are using COL_SELECT_MASK properly ie
if you have 6 field in the TAB_OUT out of that you need to donwload 1,3,6 then your
COL_SELECT_MASK will be X X X

Macintosh Quadra 840AV, problem with startup

I got a brand new (old) Macintosh Quadra 840AV computer from my friend. I acquired it with powermac 8100 mainboard on deck, and then it started good, I had a signal on monitor and system started up. When I put an original 840AV mainboard it doesn't start. Why? I equipped 840AV mainboard with a new 3,6V battery. Maybe a problem with a RAM?

Solved. I put a video RAM instead of standard RAM. :>

EmbedFonts problem with AS2

I am having a problem using embedded fonts within my movie and no matter what i try I cannot get it to work. I have a font embedded which is set to be exported for actionscript and exported in the first frame. It has an identifier of myfontid. The following code works fine and displays a text box using Arial:

I have been toying with this for ages now and read everything I can about it but am still having problems. It works when I use similar code within an empty flv
file just not within my main movie. This is being run within an onLoadComplete method for after the image that it sits on finishes loading, i suspect there must be some issue with this but i can't see what it is given it works without embedded fonts.

This is driving me nuts When i copy the embed code across into a blank flv file (with the embedded font) and replace target with this then it works perfectly but it will not work no matter what i do within my main swf. The exact code i'm using is:

I just don't even know what to try anymore, i would think there's maybe a problem with running it all within an onloadcomplete statement or something like that however it works perfectly when i use standard non embedded fonts. Also when i debug the movie i can see the textfield newText and it has the correct variable and is has embedFonts set to true but still nothing shows up.
Any other suggestions would be massively appreciated as i really don't know what to try any more....
