***EDIT : I forgot to say that it was if you actually have already tried everything out (I mean all the fixes on the forum, the new drivers, change PCI slots, reinstalled windows+X-Fi etc... and nothing helps to solve your problem. This solution is obviously not a "first thing to do" )***
Fisrt, this topic is just some experience of mine (thanx to a german guy), nothing to do with a "real fix". And I wanted to say that I was pretty decei'ved by Creative, posted here no answers, asked for custumer help, got a ticket twice and no anwsers what so ever ...
Here was my problem :
-Crackle.
-No sound at all at windows start.
-Some sound but just shot down during a game session or watching some video/music etc...
-Nice blue critical errors involving some ha20x2k.sys file.
-sound freezs (same sequence of sound comming back during a few secounds).
-Sound card wouldn't install properly, 27% then 87% of the install and blue screen.
Guess I had nearly all the bugs existing hum :/
I've been dealing with this for ages now ( week which is ages for a computer problem, especially that I know some things about computers and never spent one freaking week to solve a problem).
So I read a thread on that topic relating to a german one about electromagnetic issues. Well some motherboards, graphics cards or power supply well whatever is working with electricity generates electromagnetic waves. And it seems that the Creatives audio cards are pretty sensible to these kinds of waves, like all electronic material not well protected !

The guys wants to put foil in his system, using cardboard to separate from graphic card. Well this is the solution, though maybe a bit hazardous regarding the foil in some electronic sysmtem though it's not the best conductor ever you may damage your computer.
I've wrapped up the sound blaster x-fi fatality with an anti-electrostatic blaster (every card is normally protected with some when you buy it, mother boards, graphic cards etc...) and just fixed it in my tower. And as if nothing ever happened I got my sound back. I'm now listenning to music and it's all fine.
Obviously I got the sound card to work half an hour ago, so I think we nead to try it at least for a few hours but regarding aal the problems I had before I really think I fixed it.
So, I appologize for the English if it's not quite that good, hope it's understandable, I'm French and I need to practice so if some moderator would come across some big mistakes feel free correcting them

Well I bought a new PSU, a Seasonic S2II-430 because I just asked everywhere and though the Corsair one was good, this one was quoted as very good. So well, anyway it's the same thing, cost me 73. and it's very nice.
But still, the problem remains ...
Well, plz isn't there someone out there who could tell what's wrong ? I get sound (sometimes) at windows start. And I can hopefully listen to some music for 5 to 0 minutes and the sounds just cuts off. I got a few sound bugs activating CMSS.
I used all the drivers, always the same thing. What am I suppose to do now ?
My motherboard is a 965P-DS3 form Gigabyte and it supposed to work correctly with X Fi I read somewhere where they tested X Fi with different hardware.
The sound card isn't working properly ? Or is it the motherboard or something else ?
I already tried everything written in this forum, all drivers are up to date (MB, Xp etc...), changed PCI slots, onboard sound disabled, what is the next step ?Message Edited by -Smurf- on 0-25-20070:22 PM

Mail has stopped refreshing as it should. When I click the get new mail envelope, there used to be a sound after around five seconds if there were no new notifications. When I try that now the program just hangs. When I look at 'Force Quit', which incidentally I have to open another app or Finder window in order to access because Mail freezes totally, including the Apple menu, it says that Mail isn't responding. The Mac won't shut down sometimes because Mail won't quit. If I manage to open a mail and then go to another inbox, the whole thing is liable to hang. Using Apple help just before Christmas I cleared out the old cache that M.Lion left behind and now there isn't a cache for Mail.
We are on Tiscali Broadband through a multi-port router and usually getting around 11Mb download speeds. My mail addresses are either tiscali.co.uk or gmail. It will not successfully send group mails either, despite the upgrade before Christmas. I never had a problem with M.L. and Mail. From looking at the Forums it seems I am not alone here. I also have a windows pc and an iPhone and they both access my mail addresses without any problem.

Refactored the common logic for AMF0 and AMF3 back into AbstractAmfInput. Resolving class aliases, creating and registering a property proxy and instantiating the appropriate class are now handled in the superclass. The resolved className and the proxy are 'returned' to the subclasses via a holder array created in the subclasses and sent as a parameter.

In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason. At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident. Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed. Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees). Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!! Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

Proper Fix for Windows 7 Desktop Gadgets not Displaying Correctly

This is not a question, this is an answer to a common problem with an easy solution.
DO NOT delete the registry subkey "Zones" the proper method to restore your gadgets is much simpler.
Here is the proper fix:
Right-Click Taskbar > Task Manager
Right-Click sidebar.exe > End Process
Start > Run (Windows Key + R)
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\
Delete the Settings.ini file in this folder.
(If you do not have extensions showing it will just read "Settings" in the [Name] column with "Configuration settings" in the [Type] column)
Right-Click Desktop > Gadgets
Place your gadgets on your desktop.

There is some great information, however it doesn't include the fix I mentioned. That's the whole reason I mentioned it. Referring to the KB does nothing, instead of providing autonomous replies try reading the title and content.

3. In het Configuratiescherm, onder Software, verwijder alle Creative programma's.
4. Steek de installatie cd in de cd rom speler, (klik het automatisch openende schermpje weg) en ga naar Deze Computer. Hier klikt u met de rechtermuis op de cd-rom dri've, en kiest u voor Verkennen. Dubbelklik nu op de map Audio, dubbelklik dan op de map Driver, en vervolgens op het bestandje CTZAP.exe (of SETUP.exe, van de 2 bestanden is aanwezig) 5. in het menu kiest u voor uninstall WDM driver en dan sluit u de PC af.
6. Plaats de kaart opnieuw in de PC. Het is beste om een PCI slot zo ver mogelijk van de grafische kaart te gebruiken.
7. na de reboot gaat u weer de installatie cd af en installeer de cd (negeer de windows installatie boodschap, deze kunt u gewoon afsluiten.

I am using a DB adapter to run a stored procedure for a simple Select Query with a table as my out parameter.This creates an XSD when the partner link is created.The elementFormDefault=qualified is by default formed in the xsd.When i change it to unQualified it returns me compilation error.

ADSI does not return proper code for Password Expired

We are trying to modify a vendor supplied system to get it to authenticate using our LDAPs. The vendor app is a hybrid IIS ASP/ASP.NET application so it seems necessary to use ADSI for authentication. We have had the solution working for more than a year, but now we want to expire passwords in our LDAP.
We have been testing with both Netscape Gateway LDAP engine 4.13 and/or Sun One Directory Server Version 5.2. At the moment, the problem I am facing is that I get the same error code from ADSI whether the attempted password is bad or the user DN and password are good but the account has expired. In other words, I cannot differentiate between an expired password and bad typing during the login attempt.
In either case [bad password or password expired], I get, -2147023570 Automation error Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. I can log in successfully with an unexpired UID/password using the code so it looks like I have no code error. I have tried several times to make sure I am typing everything OK. My results are consistent.
I have found example code on the web that suggests I should be seeing the "error -2147016672 (1 from NDS) - password expired".
Could there be some sort of Netscape or Sun One LDAP configuration parameter that prevents sending the password expired error code/message?
Any other ideas what might be wrong?
We've tested using VB, VBScript [directly] and VBScript in ASP. Always the same results.

Did you check SAP notes? Maybe the OS creates the file in DIR_HOME directory when the path is invalid. Could you check in AL11? You may also add "MESSAGE msg" to the "OPEN DATASET", maybe you'll get more information.

Not getting proper result for TIMESTAMP

Your problem is almost definately how you retreive the timestamp from the ResultSet and then display it, not in the way the query returns it.

RE: : "AEC-6880 BIOS not install" error - fixed for me.

To anyone receiving the POST error : "AEC-6880 BIOS not install" on a 645Max2, my problem was a dead Maxtor Plus9 disk.
Both disks in the mirror array were brand new 80GB parts, within three days i was getting the BIOS not installed error instead of the Acard utility telling me one of the disks was bad. Pretty major ehh?!!
I removed the dead disk and managed rescue the data from the working disk, so don't reformat them before you've checked that both disks are good!
Hope someone out there finds that useful.

I tried to authorize my Computer and eBookreader with a new Adobe-ID, but it says I've done used this ID too often, even though it was brandnew! Can't copy my just-purchased eBook because "Copying is not allowed".
I hold my thumbs for you that Adobe solves this Problem fast enough. Other ways I'll sell my eBookreader and buy the Kindle-Reader from Amazon and say GOOD BYE to Adobe!

Mail is not showing proper dates for messages

Hi,
I just set up Mail and it imported over 9000 emails from my IMAP account. It has the correct "date received" for about the last 20 emails I received, but after that ALL 9000 or so messages have an identical time stamp: 21 March 2009 1:26 p.m..
Completely random?
The real dates show up fine in webmail and in Thunderbird using IMAP.
What the heck?!
Any advice?

Nope.
Usually crappy support expected for proprietary software... it's all compiled and secret so who know what the heck is happening.
I should say the only reason I use Mail.app is because of its global inbox for IMAP accounts feature.

New fix for Podcasts app

After a long period of bad problems with Podcasts app, I finally got it right.
This is a fix so simple to do that most people will do it wright first time. There is no need to call your Mac Geek friend to help you.
This fix solves all problems you have with this app, even the one that is eating up your data plan in iOS6.
This fix also works with all iOS devices on iOS 5 or iOS 6.
You must have an Macintosh computer with the latest iTunes installed in order to this fix works right. (I guess).
Here is the fix:
1) Connect your device to your Mac and make the backup ofr your device. After the backup is done, disconnect your device.
2) If you have Sync Podcasts enabled in iTunes, unenable it and hit the Sync button on the lower left side on iTunes. iTunes will not send any Podcast to your device.
3) Now, it is important to have in the iTunes (Mac) all subscriptions your devices have. If you don't have, it is the right time to do it. Subscribe to exactly same shows. We will use it again later, don't skip this step.
4) Open in your device the Podcasts app and and unsubscribe all your subscriptions.
5) Press Edit in the Podcasts app. In your iPad it is located at the upper right hand side and in your iPhone it scroll up all your show icons and the Edit button is located at the second bar from top to botton. Press the X and delete all your subscriptions.
6) Kill Music and Podcasts apps. Hit the Home button 2 times and press the X icon on the upper left side.
7) Go to iTunes in your Mac and open the list of App you have and delete the PodCasts app in the list and delete the Podcasts app in your devices.
8) Now, connect your device again and wait it sync.
9) In iTunes (Mac) click in your device on the left side of the window, and select Podcasts index on the top of the window. Click on Podcasts. Enable Sync Podcasts. Enable Automatically include all unplayed and episodes of all podcasts.
10) Press the Sync on the lower right side.
11) In your Device open the Music app, you will see Podcasts returned to work in the Music app.
12) Now you can listen to your podcasts and it keeps sync of what your are listening.
Deleting the Podcasts app was the only way to make it work right.

This also does not restore the ability to add podcasts to music playlists - a function that I used on a daily basis to mix spoken word audio. (Podcasts, audiobooks, MP3s) I often listen to these playlists outdoors in a cold climate and cannot unbundle myself to switch between apps. Thanks Apple, for making things more difficult!
I'm getting tired of ripping all my podcasts into AAC or MP3 in order to accomplish an operation that used to be effortless and if there is not an official fix for this by the time I receive my bonus in February, it is going toward an Android phone! (I've already purchased an S3 for my wife for Christmas to compare.)

Has a fix for the audiobook problem on ipod classic been released yet?

My fiance just gave me an ipod classic 160g for valentines day. I turned it on and uploaded my large collection of audiobooks just to find out that it throws them all into a pool of chapters. Is this something I am doing wrong or has apple still not published a fix for this? A bit of searching shows that several users have faced the same frustration.

Check some of the audiobooks in your iTunes Library. Use File/Get Info/Info. Are the basic fields completed, such as the Track Number and total tracks, the Disc Number and total number of discs. Without that information, the iPod will have difficulty in sorting them into the correct order.

Fix for hp laser jet CM1312nfi MFP printer and OS X 10.10.2

My HP CM1312nfi MFP laser jet printer, with the latest driver 1.5.0, will only print with my iMac OS X 10.10.2, I cannot scan at all, even with image capture the scanner does not work or show up. My wife's Mac Book is running 10.9.5 and printer driver 1.4.1, she can scan with hp scan but only with the flat bed scan not the tray feeder. I can't find a download for the older driver to try that.
Very frustrating to have a perfectly good HP MFP printer that seems to no longer be supported by the manufacturer!!! The printer is working fine with the PCs in the house.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

Thank you for your answer.
I'm aware of the download you pointed out, but my question was different.
I asked why the new version provided to Apple from HP (and from Apple to the customers) won't work as intended anymore. Until few days ago, all I had to do was plugging in the USB cable and my Mac would install all the required software, without all the additional packages I would not like to have.
I wanted to contact Apple but the software is made by HP, so I thought HP should know about compatibility issues. I know this is a community board but I wouldn't know how to get in touch with the Mac software makers.
If the issue won't be risolved I might just try and install the package from this website, but that would not be a fix for a problem recently introduced and that I thought I'd point out.
