MB pro Airport utililty cannot recongnize my AX in remote base mode
I set up my AX as remote base of a existent wirless d link network, it worked for 2 days and now it is no more recognized from my macbook, is there an recent update trouble? Can u help me please?
I'm having the same problem after updating (my pb) to 10.5. and my airport express to the recent firmware.
I tried several types of resets. Afterwards, I can reconfigure the box - set everything up. AE is available afterwards for a minute or so but disappears then. This is so strange. It worked fine for two years or so.

Unfortunately, Apple dropped support of the older (8+ years) AirPort routers in OS X 10.9.4 and AirPort Utility 6.3.2.
It will take a 5.x version of AirPort Utility to be able to administer the older AirPort, which means that you will need.....or be able to borrow for 10-15 minutes......a Mac running Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or a PC with AirPort Utility installed to setup the older AirPort. -
My Airport Extreme cannot be discovered by my macbook pro. Need help.
New, out of the box, the AirPort Extreme is broadcasting a wireless signal with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx.
If you want to configure the AirPort Extreme using wireless, you must log on to this network first from your Mac.
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen, click Join Other Network, click Show Networks, select the Apple Network xxxxxx and log on. No password is required. Then open AirPort Utility.

If you have a spare Ethernet cable handy, connect it from your Mac to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme to establish a direct connection. Then open AirPort Utility. -
HT1178 my airport utility cannot find my Time Capsule
My time capsule is connected to my mac pro but in trying to set it up my Airport Utility cannot find it.
Connected by ethernet?
Airport turned off?
No other connections .. do it in complete isolation.
Do factory reset. That will not harm the backups at all. But it will get the TC functional if that is possible.
If you have issues.. please give us info on the ethernet setup in the computer.. it should be set to dhcp and get IP from the TC.. 10.0.1.2 -

My HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw cannot scan or copy. Screen on the printer just show calibrating only
Bsically an't scan or copy, the printer is just showing a message on the display of "calibrating".
Thank you for helpHi @Ern88 , I can help you with not being able to scan or copy. The printer is showing that it is stuck calibrating.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Try to make a copy again.

The planned dates of production or release of Windows 8.1 drivers are speculation about the drivers.

Hello Macbook Pro Musicians--I cannot read sheet music from my 13" macbook or from an IPad. The print is too small for these aging eyes! So I need to get a large monitor to attach to the Macbook. I want the monitor to be connected wirelessly or using a blue tooth. This will eliminate alot of potential mishaps

As you can see in my profile section, my MBP is older by 5 years, 2GB RAM and with regards to question 1 (Q1), has no problems with having all those programs open at the same time with the possible exception of Photoshop since I use Gimp instead. With twice the RAM and much overall much better specs, Photoshop shouldn't be an issue. But you listed some other activities that might need that additional RAM. But the advise most give is to not get it from Apple but from a third party.
Q5 - I always get Apple Care. Only had to use it once but it paid for itself that one time.
Sorry, can't help you much with the questions you really want answered since I won't have a new MBP until (hopefully) next week but for Q4, I believe it depends on the peripheral. My current monitors are too old to allow them to be hooked up in a chain. Supposedly, if the monitors do have the ports, you could via the MBP Thunderbolt port. The speeds are also dependent upon the peripheral. If the external hard drive is using a USB 2 port, you are limited by that speed (480 Mb/s). If it has a Thunderbolt port, then from what I understand, we, my friend, are in for some great times because I believe your RAM will have the ability to access data as fast as it can take it at 10Gb/s (and if will need those kinds of speeds, the 8GB of RAM may be the way to go). The Thunderbolt demos on YouTube where they are accessing four video files from a Raid drive, then sending them back out via Final Cut Pro to a monitor are amazing. I'll probably never push this machine to anywhere near it's limits but I can't wait to see what others do.

I have photoshop cc and a mac book pro. I cannot access my photos from photoshop. I can go to iPhoto and click edit to edit them in photoshop, but photoshop won't open them. I want to do a collage, so I need to get to more than one photo.

Once you have successfully done that you can go ahead and choose Erase and Sync when you plug your iPod in.

Seriously? Is there not any way to view and read DRM-protected books downloaded on iTunes on my MacBook Pro? I cannot believe that there is not any way around this! I seem to constantly get confounded by what seems to be the most amazingly unbelievable conundrums with Apple despite having been a champion of the company for years and years. This relates to tethering on iPhone, external Apple hard drives only being usable with MacBook Air, and now this! If anyone is aware of a hack or way around this I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!

I had Airport Utilities in my Mac Book 2009 with OsX 10.9.2 , I can online with My Airport Extreme A 1408 via Wifi. But Airport Utilities cannot configure Airport Base Station. And I don't see the update . I used my Ipad Air to update newest firmware my Airport Extreme . It's done. From Ipad I can see the informations as following : IP Adress , Lan IP Adress 10.0.1.1 , version 7.6.4.....,...Model Airport Extreme 802.11n (5th Generation) ....in full details. But not in my Mac Book. Please Help. Thanks.
LoilevanI had this problem a couple of days ago. Near as I can figure, the drive drops off line periodically. Many people are having this issue. On your Mac, go to finder and see if the MyCloud shows up. Mine didn't last time I had a problem. I ended up unplugging the drive, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, and then plugged it back in. I also disconnected the ethernet cable(not sure if this was necessary). After a few minutes, it showed up in finder. I use Time Machine and Time Machine editor to perform backups daily. I know it's dropped off line if my Mac hasn't backed up in the last couple of days. If it's currently online, and was just unavailable when the Time Machine attempted a backup, I just let it go.
I have the Airport Extreme base station as well. I have been unsuccessful in port frowarding with this thing. I always have a Relay Connection on the Settings-General-Cloud access portion of the My Cloud dashboard. It seems to work fine, and overcoming this issue has dropped to the bottom of my To Do list. As long as Remote Access is on, and it shows connected(Relay or otherwise), you should be good to go. It evidently isn't optimal, but then again neither are my technical abilities.
Hope this helps. I am an average user with average(at best) computer abilities. This is just my average experience. P.S. Moving the drive while it's operating is bad...Mmmkay!

I have a username and password for the network, but when I try to go through the Connection Assistant and put in my password, it says its the wrong password.

I get the following error message when I connect a usb ethernet adapter to my new MacBook Pro: Unsupported - You cannot use an Apple USB Modem with this computer. I live where we only have dial-up and the Apple Store said this is what I need. In addition, when I connect the phone to the connecter it falls out, it will not click in.
Why are you using a usb ethernet adaptor? Just plug the modem into the usb port.
