MBA connected to iPhone4 Personal Hotspot, but safari and other apps don't have internet connect
My new MBA is connected to my iPhone4 (show 1 connection), but when using Safari and other Apps, it always time out or display error message "no internet connect". Please assist. Thank you.
Do you have a program such as "Little Snitch" installed? If so, are its settings allowing the applications to connect?

Usually, we have an edge device for internet connection and LAN connection, like a router. So I suppose gateway is not working properly.
For further troubleshooting, please provide your network topology. DNS, gateway settings. Test if you can ping DC when the issue occur. -
Brand new iPad mini 32GB LTE (Verizon) purchased on 1/7/13 is constantly crashing while on Safari and other apps. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do besides restoring it and rebooting it as I have already done so. Should i exchange it at the apple store for a new one? Any suggestions? Im still under the 14 day return policy.
Returning it is a way to go, obviously. Unless that's quick and convenient enough for you, you may try resetting it to factory settings first under Settings -> General -> Reset.
A new setup and sync (not restoring, to avoid the cause of the problem coming over again) might fix it once and forever. -
Hello, my iPod touch is not working right. It says its connected but if I select App Store, safari and other apps that require wifi pops out a note saying either"error loading" or "cannot connect to iTunes Store" and would exit the app automatically. Please help.

Videos on my iPad are running 2x. I have restored every way possible but still no change. The videos are noticeably faster in Safari and other apps like my Fox News app. Sometimes I can change the speed back to normal by "scrubbing" the video, but that is inconsistent. First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes." -

Safari and other apps are very slow
I am frustrated because I have goodled and tried everything. Safari and other apps on my MacBook Pro are loading very slowly. This was not the case about a month ago. I purchased this Macbook in October 2014 and it should not be as slow as it is. What can I do? I have changed a few settings and made some adjustments and the performance is still the same. Help.
When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Crashing my safari and other apps frequently

I am facing the the same problems for months, My safari and other apps are crashing frequently and sometimes my phone is also hanged. Its very hard to work. sometimes touch is too slow and work after few seconds, what should I do for these? could you please tell me.

You could see if the following help. Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could see if turning off iCloud and multitasking gestures on the iPad help -
Links from within Firefox windows open new tab, but links within Mail, MSWord, and other apps attempt to open another copy of Firefox, and I get the "Close Firefox: A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." This just started happening less than a week ago. I don't know when FF updated to version 22.0.
My problem seems to be fixed--I cannot reproduce it now, though it had been consistently happening for the past 3-4 days. The suggestions above do not seem to apply in any case: I do not want to open another instance of Firefox but simply to connect with the one that is already running; and I do not seem to have a .parentlock file.
If the problem returns, I'll be back. Meanwhile, thanks for the suggestions. -
I recently purchased an iPhone 5c and for some unknown reason I can't connect to my wireless router's network at home. I've tried establishing a seperate IP address, manually adding the iPhone device, and even spent an hour with Centurylink's IT support and they couldn't figure it out. They said it was an iPhone error. I had an iPhone 3 about 1 1/2 years ago that had the same problem. I ended up getting rid of the phone because I couldn't solve this problem before. I thought a newer phone would not have the same problem.
My phone shows that I'm connected to my home internet, but when I open up network information for my home internet there is no IP Address listed. Safari and my other apps also state that I'm not connected to the internet. I'm ready to sell my phone back and go to an Android since I didn't have trouble connecting with it before. We also have a Macbook and iPad that both connect to the internet just fine. Cant log into iMessage on myI ipad air and get the message " please check your internet connection and try again" and my internet is on and I can connect to it in other applications.
1. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
2. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
3. Restart iPad
4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo -
I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts. From what I understand these message should automatically send to me as texts instead of iMessages but since the update it's not functioning properly. Please help. I've tried turning iMessage off and I still don't receive the messages until after I reconnect to wifi.
I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7
