MBA Hardware Failure--How Long to Get FedEx Return Label?

This is the first time I've ever had to return an Apple product.
Two days ago, the hardware failed on my 13" MBA. It was 4 days old at that time. After the hardware failure was confirmed by the tech people at Apple, I was told (by Sales Support) that a FedEx shipping lable would be emailed to me so that I could return it for a full refund. At that time, I was told that the label would be sent within 24 hours. It's now almost 48 hours and I haven't received the shipping label. I called Sales Support yesterday at the 30-hour point and was told that I would be receiving it "any time now."
Question: How long is normal in a case like this. I'm sitting on $1,300 of worthless hardware. If I call Sales Support again this afternoon, is there some other person I can ask to talk to if they can't help?

Finally got the FedEx shipping label. I'm really disappointed because for the four days I had my Air, it was totally outstanding. I'll probably wait a month or so and re-order. There are enough reports in this forum about hardware problems (not booting any more, clickings sounds, etc) that I'm going to wait.
Everything was fine with mine until day four. I had just downloaded the lastest HP print drivers from the Apple Web site. My network throughput that morning was really slow on what is normally a very fast wireless and wired network. Then, while installing the new print drivers, the computer display gave me about 2 seconds of horizontal, colorful lines across the display and then the system froze. I booted immediately into single user mode to run fsck. The computer froze midway through the boot and I never got to the root> prompt. I've never had a Mac freeze during a single user boot.
I then tired booting from an external hard drive clone of my boot volume. I got the spinning gear for about 10 seconds and then the system shut off.
Later, I booted from the USB thumb drive supplied with the system and tried to reinstall the operating system. I tried Disk Utility first, but it said the drive could not be repaired. It froze about 5 minutes into reinstalling the operating system with garbled video right before the freeze. The system would never boot from the internal SSD. I sent it back today for a full refund.
It was so nice while it worked...

Hi, I have tried to restore settings on my Iphone due to problems I was having with the phone cutting out when talking on the phone, now Iphone shows Sim Failure, how can I get back to using my phone? Please help, its a business phone.

    Hi jclarke64,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.
See the steps in this article for help with restoring from a backup:

  • Apple hardware test - how long?

I have tried to run the Apple hardware test with my iBook G4. The reason for this test is that my ethernet port has stopped working.
I have tried all online tips I can find with no result. The only things I haven´t tried is the hardware test and a complete reinstall of the OS X
(in case the ethernet problem is software related)
The hardware test works great until the test of the logic board. 33 seconds after pushing the start button, the fan speeds up for a second or two
and then slows down and stops. The progress bar stops and there are no sounds from the ibook.
It looks like the test have frozen, although it could be working veeeery slowly.
After 37 hours I was feed up so I pushed the stop button. No reaction.
Other two - button combinations doesn´t work. The only thing that stops the test is holding down the power button.
The iBook boots nicely from the hard disc and from the installation CD.
    So my question is:
How long should the hardware test normally take?
    Any other ideas?
    Timmy

The Apple Hardware Test does not actually check the Ethernet port directly. It will, however, check the logic board that the Ethernet port is build-in to. Usually the longest part of the test is RAM. If you're not even getting as far as the RAM tests, then there could be something wrong with your hardware that the AHT can't overcome. But, in any case, it should never take more than an about an hour to run.
Perhaps it's time to consider getting an AirPort card for the iBook and using wireless Internet at home?

  • Envy dv6 notebook - Hard drive failure - How do I get windows 8 reloaded on my Notebook

Hard drive failed in the notebook / laptop. How do I get windows 8 back on the new drive? Hp told me they will not send or sell me recovery disks. WHat kind of crap is that?
    Help!

Once one is out of warranty HP is not obligated to send recocovery media for free. Owners have a responsibility to create the recovery media shortly after removing their notebook during the inital product setup.
You can purhase the recovery media from HP here.
The BIOS does hold the product code for Windows 8, so that is a non issue.

  • How long to get money back for returned phone?

I returned my online order and waiting for my credit back/order cancelled. How long does this take?

Hey Bandit390! Return refunds can sometimes take up to 60 days from the point of receipt, but I've seen them come a lot sooner!

  • How long to get a fault fixed?

There appears to be some damage to our line outside as when I recently did a few speed tests the download and upload speeds are extremely slow varying between 0.1 and 0.2mB, I rang the support line a week last sunday to say so, they did a test and confirmed that there was a fault and the next day I had a phone message to say that the fault had been reported to the maintenance people. However, for almost a week after that I heard nothing and there was no difference in performance so I contacted support again, who took my mobile number and said that they would contact me very soon, as yet they haven't, was just wondering how long these things generally take to fix? Many thanks

Anything from 1 day upwards.  If it's a simple wire gone adrift at the exchange, somebody may plug it back in the next day.  If it's a cable in a collapsed duct under a busy main road, then by the time they have got permits from the council and organised the contractors to dig up the road, then that could be weeks or months.
Usually, minor faults are fixed in a few days.

  • How do I get the returned cursor from a stored procedure to an asp.

Sorry if this topic has been answered before but I am new to Oracle and ASP. I have been asked to create some stored procedures and access the results from the ASP. I will be passing one variable in and could be getting upto 200 rows returned.
I have no trouble with the stored procedure but have no clue how to retrieve the data returned by it.

Assuming that the stored procedure has a single argument, an OUT cursor, you should be able to do
    SQLExecDirect
    {call <stored_proc>() }
    SQLFetch
    SQLGetData
We'll handle all the 'magic' underneath.

  • HT2500 How do I get a return receipt with Mail?

I want to be sure that someone reads the e-mail I am sending.  In my old system (Windows Outlook) I was able to check a box to get a return receipt.  I've looked all over Mail, including the help system, and can find no instructions on this.  I can't imagine this important feature has been omitted from the program, but I cannot find it anywhere!
    Terrible fail, Apple help!
Anyone out there know how to do this?  Thanks for the help!
    Best Regards,
    Jim

    Austin,
Thanks for the info.  I was vainly hoping Apple actually had the feature in the program.  Sadly, this looks like a fail all the way 'round.  I know a return receipt doesn't guarantee anything, but it at least gives me some level of knowing someone got the message.  Sadly, Apple simply doesn't support the feature.
    Fail, Apple.  Fail!

  • How do I get the return value from an executable?

I'm running an external executable from dbms_scheduler but how do I get the exit code from the program run or any screen output?

    Hi,
In the additional_info column of schedulerjob_run_details there should be something like
job of type EXECUTABLE failed with exit code: Operation not permitted
"Operation not permitted" is the error code (as translated by the errors header file for that platform).
In releases 10.2 and up there may also be a line in the additional_info
    STANDARD_ERROR="Error text here"
This gives the standard error messages output by the application. There is no way to get the standard output of the application.
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • HT2486 How to print the same return label on Avery labels

I am trying to print the same return label on an Avery 5160 and cannot. It only shows one label, not 30 of the same.
Was on the phone with Apple support but we could not make it work either.
    Anyone knows?
    Thanks

    REDP,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .
    I hope this helps.

  • How long to get a response for a case?

I submitted a case on 6/10/13 and still yet to have my case looked at.  I started a chat after 4 days and the agent pointed me to the exact place I went to start the case I was asking about. He then told me to wait 2 days.  Its been 7 days or 5 business days.  When I submitted the case it stated a 2 day wait time.  I tried to call today (day 7) and the voice prompt said expect a 11 minute wait time.  I waited for 33 minutes before hanging up.  Is this normal for customer support?

I submitted a case on 6-7-13 and have now called five times. Adobe's clearly out-of-the-US customer service simply does not respond to you unless you call them. And yes, you must be on hold for a long time.
Simply put, Adobe's customer service is shameful and abysmal. We are a large educational institution and cannot under any circumstances be charged sales tax on our Creative Cloud subscription. Despite repeated phone calls, it is apparently beyond the ability of Adobe's customer service team to deal with this seemingly easy task. We are trying to give Adobe money and they will not take it. We submitted our tax exempt form to them on 6-7 and still nothing. Just awful.

  • NAS200 RAID 1 - disk failure - how do i get to good disk?

it appears that the top drive of my NAS200 has failed
it was setup as RAID 1 mirror
i can't access the bottom drive
what do i have to do to get to my data?

You may need to connect the drives directly to a Linux PC. The drives are using a Linux- based file system so they won't be readable on a windows PC. If you don't have a Linux, you could try the DiskInternals Linux Reader. This will give you read only access to your files using windows explorer to view and select. You can also look into their data recovery software in case the files on your HD have been corrupted.
