MBAM 2.0 Agents with MBAM 2.5 Servers

Hi All,
Does anyone know whether MBAM 2.0 agents will continue to work with MBAM 2.5 infrastructure?
We are in the process of planning an upgrade to 2.5 for the infrastructure but I cannot find anything that states whether there is an absolute requirement to, best practice to or no need to upgrade the client agents at the same time.
We would plan to upgrade them eventually, but via device rebuild/refresh rather than a mass deployment if possible.
Our existing agents are running on Windows 7 and the infrastructure upgrade is to allow for support of Windows 8.1 so the key question is whether we need to refresh all of the agents on the Windows 7 devices or can leave them as they are for now.
Many Thanks in advance

MBAM 2.0 agent will communicate with upgrades MBAM 2.5 web service endpoints. The only limitation with not upgrading the MBAM 2.0 agent is "you will not be able to leverage the enhancement that comes with MBAM 2.5". MBAM 2.0 agent will use all
of the settings defined only for mBAM 2.0.
For e.g. :- There comes a GPO to define grace period to postpone encryption with MBAM 2.5. You will not be able to leverage this setting with MBAM 2.0 agent although you define the settings in GPO. Same is for FIPS support also.
If you want to leverage this setting you need to upgrade the agent to MBAM 2.5.
If you are not concerned with the enhancements that comes with MBAM 2.5 and can work with the settings defined with MBAM 2.0 before upgrade, you will not faced any issues with MBAM 2.0 agent.

  • Agents with Personal DNs in UCCX

    Looking for some general guidance and feedback:
    While I prefer agents with a single DN, I frequently end up with clients that have 2 DNs (Agent/Personal) assigned to their legacy phones. Tearing them away from this frame of mind when they migrate to Cisco UC can be difficult. I'm looking for a best approach in maintaining both DNs while avoiding agent state and reporting issues.

    Hi Brian,
    Being unsure of the CCX version, I'm sharing the link for release notes of CCX 8.5 version. I would highly recommend you going by the book here. Reading the release notes talks about scenarios which are supported and the ones which are not. Refer to sections like Supported/Unsupported Actions for agent phones and more, you'd find details which need to be kept in mind:
    http://tools.cisco.com/squish/FF1E1
    Keeping a personal extension on the phone is not a problem mostly but there have been few issues in specific scenarios. For example, the Release notes will tell you this;
    "End points not supported in hunt groups — Do not assign agent phones, CTI ports, or route points that are used by Unified CCX to hunt groups."
    This means you cannot assign the personal or the ACD extension assigned to a hunt group on CM, it can cause issues with agent getting in reserved and more.

    Thank you.
    Bill Wagman

    It's ok to have 11g agent and 12c agents up and running simultaneously and we do it all the time during migration from one to the other since they have to run on different ports (12c checks this at install ONLY IF the 11g agent it up and running when the 12c agent is being pushed out to the host).
    Also, if EMDIAG is the only place you see 1830 port being reported, it may be becuase its doing a search for any agents currently installed on the server. So if you still have both the 11g agent and 12c agent installed, this should not be an issue that it it reporting that URL/port with 1830 for the 11g agent. Since you can't upgrade 11g agents to 12c, (its required to do a new install of 12c agent) you have to do a complete uninstall of the 11g agent first from the OEM 11g gui console, then at the inventory level where the inital 11g agent was installed, than you may still need to manually remove that 11g directory if your runInstaller did not remove it once its "uninstalled".

  • Gpg-agent with systemd

    Hey!
    I am a novice Arch user and I am having problems with the latest gpg distribution when used with systemd and ssh-support. Currently, I am using i3 with lightdm, and I am using systemd to start gpg-agent with ssh support. Specifically, I have the following gpg-agent.service file in my ${HOME}/.config/systemd/user/ directory:
    [Unit]
    Description=gpg-agent Daemon with SSH Support
    [Service]
    Type=forking
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/gpg-agent --quiet --daemon --enable-ssh-support
    Restart=on-success
    [Install]
    WantedBy=default.target
    which is expected to restart when exited properly and/or due to a signal. When I enable and start the service with systemctl --user prefix, it works as it is supposed to be. I have the following gpg-agent.conf file:
    default-cache-ttl 600
    default-cache-ttl-ssh 3600
    max-cache-ttl 7200
    max-cache-ttl-ssh 7200
    enforce-passphrase-constraints
    min-passphrase-len 10
    min-passphrase-nonalpha 4
    max-passphrase-days 180
    pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-curses
    and the following excerpt in my .zshrc:
    # GPG configuration
    # Check for the gpg-agent socket, and set SSH_AUTH_SOCK and GPG_TTY
    # environment variables accordingly:
    if [[ -S "${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh" ]]; then
    export GPG_TTY=$(tty)
    if [[ ${SSH_AUTH_SOCK} != "${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh" ]]; then
    export SSH_AUTH_SOCK="${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh"
    fi
    fi
    The problem is, everything is working properly except for one thing: "When I want to ssh to my server, I get an 'Agent admitted failure to sign using the key' error." I mean, the environment variables seem to be fine when I fire up a zsh session (terminal emulator) and/or everything seems ok when I issue systemctl --user status gpg-agent, but I cannot ssh to my server using my gpg-key. However, when I stop the systemd unit and just issue eval $(gpg-agent --quiet --daemon --enable-ssh-support) in a new terminal emulator, ssh works fine. In both of the aforementioned versions, when I issue gpg --clearsign some_file.txt command, I am asked in the terminal emulator for my password (I suppose in the so called curses pinentry program).
    I thank you in advance for your time, and appreciate any suggestions. Best,

    You might need to make a script to start it. Like "/usr/local/bin/gpg-agent-daemon.zsh"
    then in that file have:
    #!/usr/bin/zsh
    gpg-agent --quiet --daemon --enable-ssh-support --write-env-file "${HOME}/.gpg-agent-info"
    And do chmod +x
    And in your gpg-agent.service file:
    [Service]
    Type=forking
    ExecStart=gpg-agent-daemon.zsh
    <...>
    And then in $ZDOTDIR/.zprofile
    # GPG configuration
    # Check for the gpg-agent socket, and set SSH_AUTH_SOCK and GPG_TTY
    # environment variables accordingly:
    if [[ -S "${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh" ]]; then
    export GPG_TTY=$(tty)
    export GPG_TTY
    if [[ ${SSH_AUTH_SOCK} != "${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh" ]]; then
    export SSH_AUTH_SOCK="${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh"
    fi
    if [ -f "${HOME}/.gpg-agent-info" ]; then
    . "${HOME}/.gpg-agent-info"
    export GPG_AGENT_INFO
    fi

  • Wait for an agent with best skill and loop after that.

    I want to solve the following situation:
    I have three skills (A, B, C) with different skill levels for each agent. C is the "everything else topic" . The caller selects the toppic which is equivalent to the skills. Of course I want the call to be forwarded to the best skilled agent.
    Let's assume the calles selects topic A and all Agents with Skilllevel > 5 for  A are currently talking. I want to hold the caller for 30 seconds to wait for one of these Agents. After 30 seconds I would like to forward the call to the agent with the highest skill level A.
    And of course I want to avoid the caller to wait the 30 seconds if no Agent with skilllevel > 5 is on duty.
    Currently I have one CSQ for each topic and I expect a skillevel > 5 for the agents serving this CSQ.
    At first I put the call in the CSQ for A and play a prompt with 30 seconds MOH, if no agent becomes available I put the call in the CSQ for C and loop the caller there. But now the best agent for C get's the call.
    I appreciate any hints on that.
    Christian

    Don't queue in C unless there are at minimum X ready agents.  You can define X as 1 to start, then play with the number to see how it affects wait times and dequeues.
    select resource (csq_a)     connected          end     queued          label loop          ready_in_c = get reporting stats(csq_c, ready resources)          if (ready_in_c >= 1)               true                    /* at least one person idle and ready in C                    select resource(csq_c)                         connected                              end                         queued                              /* oops! we just missed them. */                              /* if ready_in_c was > 1, this dequeue step will not execute */                              /* instead, the script jumps to the select resource step for csq_c */                              /* and tries the next agent automatically.  only when there are no */                              /* idle and ready agents do we dequeue the caller, so that an agent */                              /* servicing csq_a can take the call */                              dequeue(csq_c)               false                    /* no one available in C */               play prompt(you are important to us)               call hold               delay 30               call unhold               goto loop

  • How to config AM agent with websphere app server which binded http server??

    Hi, thanks for your concern.
    I am configuing AM policy agent with websphere 6.0 application server , the difference to the normal situation is : the IBM application server is binding with IBM http server so the server can deal with request from the port 80. It puzzled me much what shall I do when I installing the agent, the following are the questions:
    1. Enter the Instance Config Directory: -- shall i use the config folder for "server1" or "webserver1"?
    2. Enter the Server Instance name. -- shall i use the "server1" or "webserver1"?
    3. Enter the preferred port number on which the application server provides its services: -- shall i use "80"(web server) or "9080"(app server) ,
    4. Enter the preferred port number on which the application server provides its services: -- yes i should fill "/agentapp" here, but when i deploy this application, the web module should be "webserver1" or "server1"?
    And yet I only need SSO here , what is the easiest way to configue them well? I do not want to obey the contents from DOC, at fact it makes my websphere crashed ... I think maybe I can use "filter" for application only after I installed the agent, is that right? but it make me crazy that, websphere told me it can not find the class javax.servlet.Filter ... I copied one for it ,but it still can not work. I think maybe I make wrong configuration before .
    Is the document "Sun Java SystemAccess Manager PolicyAgent 2.2 Guide for IBM WebSphereApplication Server 6.0" only for stand alone application server?
    Any help will be most appriciated! thank you!

    If you are trying to install j2ee Agent 2.2 then the below answers may be helpful. i am not sure what webserver1 is ?
    Remeber all config for j2ee agent is for the app server.
    1. Enter the Instance Config Directory: -- shall i use the config folder for "server1" or "webserver1"? You should be using the 1 which your app server is using. The server.xml will be modified for the corresponding server instance.
    2. Enter the Server Instance name. -- shall i use the "server1" or "webserver1"? depends on above config
    3. Enter the preferred port number on which the application server provides its services: -- shall i use "80"(web server) or "9080"(app server) , for j2ee agent ot should be 9080
    4. Enter the preferred port number on which the application server provides its services: -- yes i should fill "/agentapp" here, but when i deploy this application, the web module should be "webserver1" or "server1"?it should be ur app server port.
    And yet I only need SSO here , what is the easiest way to configue them well? try sso_only mode
    I do not want to obey the contents from DOC, at fact it makes my websphere crashed ... I think maybe I can use "filter" for application only after I installed the agent, is that right? without the agent filter in the web.xml the agent wont intercept any traffic.
    but it make me crazy that, websphere told me it can not find the class javax.servlet.Filter ... I copied one for it ,but it still can not work. I think maybe I make wrong configuration before .
    Is the document "Sun Java SystemAccess Manager PolicyAgent 2.2 Guide for IBM WebSphereApplication Server 6.0" only for stand alone application server?
    Follow the SUN Docs strictly and it should work fine.

  • UCCX - Alert Agent with Team Info on Incoming Call

    If an agent is a member of multiple teams is it possible for the agent to be alerted with incoming calls which team the call belongs to? If so, how is this possible?

    I think you are confusing your terms.
    A Team is a group of Agents with one or more supervisors.
    An Application is the glue for one or more Triggers and a single Script.
    It sounds like you are talking about a Contact Service Queue (CSQ).  If so, then yes, an Agent can support more than one CSQ.  In this case, you will find the CSQ name in CAD automatically.

    I installed my Storage manager 3.0.x today and i have 3 servers with shares.
    All servers have FSRM installed. The 2 servers that didnt run the engine has agent installed.
    I tried a test policy today and it randomizes accounts on all three servers, Moves and that stuff works like a charm.
    But! Qoutas only work on the same server that runs the engine. In FSRM i can monitor and see qoutas. But on the other 2 agent servers there isnt a qouta set. Nor connfigured.
    Help?

    It was a firewall problem. Once i took care of that it works!

  • SAP CRM with multiple MS Exchange Servers

    Hi all,
    I would like to use a SAP CRM 7.0 system with multiple MS Exchange servers. It is possible to forward emails from these Exchange servers to the SAP WAS via SMTP, so that SAP ERMS functionalities can be used to process the emails?
    Thank you,
    Till

    The answer is yes.  You need to just setup the exchange servers to route the e-mail to the inbound SMTP port setup on the CRM WAS server.  You will then configure the inbound e-mail address on the WAS to map to the ERMS service.
    CRM does not care how the message got sent to it, it just needs to be dropped off at that location.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • DNS forwarder with 2 real DNS servers, querying them simultaneously

    DNS forwarder with >2 real DNS servers, querying them simultaneously and ignoring "server can't find" errors
    Hi. When I connect to VPN, my normal DNS isnt queried, and DNS given by VPN answers: "server can't find"
    An extract from 'man resolv.conf'
    If there are multiple servers, the resolver library queries them in the  order  listed.
    I need another logic. All servers should be queried at the same time, and the soonest positive reply should be used.
    The algorithm  used  is to try a name server, and if the query times out, try the next, until out of name servers, then repeat trying all  the  name  servers  until  a  maximum number of etries are made.
    So, if I get "server can't find" error, the next DNS server not queried. I want the DNS forwarder to ignore such answers and wait for replies from other servers.
    What software can do this? Maybe dnsmasq? I plan to add 'nameserver 127.0.0.1' to the top of my resolv.conf and configure my scripts to add other nameservers below.

    All servers should be queried at the same time
    --all-servers
    dnsmasq: ignoring nameserver 127.0.0.1 - local interface
    good.
    How to tell dnsmasq to completely disable dhcp? List all interfaces like this?
    no-dhcp-interface=eth0
    no-dhcp-interface=tun0
    no-dhcp-interface=vboxnet0
    no-dhcp-interface=wlan0

  • Agents for database and application servers

    hi all,
    I have to go to a client site this week to install Gagents onto some database servers, some will be RAC and some application servers. it is on AIX. are there different agents for database and applications? In a RAC cluster do I need an agent per node?
    rgds
    alan

    When installing agents in a cluster (read - RAC), during the installation, on one of the screens, you will have the option of picking up all the nodes in the cluster. Else, if you are using a push or agent deploy method, you just have to pass the correct flag (can't remember) and then list all the nodes in the cluster.
    To your other questions, you do not need different agents for database, and app servers etc. The only time you would need different agents is when you are installing on different platforms.
