MBAM 2.5 - Antimalware exceptions

Does anyone have a list of files & processes to exclude from scanning?
A FEP/SCEP template file would be even better if anyone has one ;)
cheers
Dave

Hi,Depending on your setup of MBAM you have one monitoring server = IIS and one DB server where you have the SQL DB so the IIS and SQL Server templates will contain all the exclusions you need.

  • MBAM web site configuration failure

I've set up MBAM 2.5 on my ConfigMgr 2012 server. Its integrated with Configuration Manager and created the two data bases on the same box with Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL 2012 with reporting services. (I've configured a working OSD windows 7 task
sequence that uses MBAM to encrypt and store the recovery key.)
Now I'm trying to install the two web sites on a second windows 2012 server that is also acting as a deployment point with pxe server.
I can connect to my reporting server with a browser from the local server without being prompted for credentials. The MBAM reports are configured and visible. I'm using the same service account for SCCM reporting services and web service application
pool domain account. I've been working this for several days and am running out of ideas.
Next I'm going to set up a new 2012 test server to act as the MBAM web server only. Maybe that will simplify things and I don't have to worry about breaking my Distribution Point. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    I finally found the problem.
I had the reporting services url wrong.
http://sccmserver/Reports (this connects successfully but is wrong.)
The wizard would say the path was wrong so I changed it by drilling further into the report server.
    By selecting the Bitlocker folder.
Then the wizard stopped  showing the red error wrong path but it turns out it was still the wrong path.
A bit misleading. I noticed on my SCCM server in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager under Report manager URL,
http://sccmserver/ReportServer  Typed this in and finished the wizard for the first time.  :)

  • Need help removing MBAM 2.5 SCCM integration from SCCM 2012!!

    Hi there,
I upgraded the infrastructure from MBAM 2.0 SP1 to MBAM 2.5. We have three server infrastructure. Everything is working fine except the computers wont show up under MBAM computer collection.
I am trying to remove MBAM 2.5 SCCM integration feature from my SCCM 2012 and reinstall it. When I try to uninstall it, it fails and says " setup failed to update MBAM. Fix the issue and run setup again.
For more information, review the setup log file.

You are using Java import syntax. You should use @page directive in JSP pages. Refer to: http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/syntax/2.0/syntaxref2010.html
[The line "org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /result.jsp(1,4) Invalid directive"
in the stack trace tells you that there is no @import directive]

Sorry for late response. I fixed the issue by installing the correct version of ASP .NET 4 from
    here.
If .NET Framework 4.5 is already installed, also run aspnet_regiis -i from C:\windows\microsoft.net\Framework\v4.0.30319

  • MBAM Enterprise Compliance Report not updating

I've had MBAM going for a day or to, i can see computers in the computer compliance report if I type the test computers in; however, i dont see any computers under the
Enterprise Compliance Report.  Is there a refresh cycle for this report and a way to get it to go quicker?  I am not seeing any computers yet and figured i should see them by now and am not sure where to look for issues for this part only.
    Thank you for any help

I had to uninstall and reinstall MBAM and now everything works except the enterprise compliance report and when I try to run the
clearcache job in SQL I get an error . There are no steps defined in the clearcache job , its just empty
How can I fix this clearcache job?
    thx
I have the same problem. Could anyone show us the steps so we can recreate it?
    Update on the problem,
I found another forum post about the same problem and how to recreate it, But I couldnt get it to work. Please try it and see if it works for you.

  • MBAM 2.5 SSRS SSL Error

    Greetings,
I am in the process of building MBAM 2.5 and have encountered a critical stopping point when setting up the Reports feature for SSRS.  The following specifics relate to my infrastructure:
    - MBAM 2.5 Standalone on Windows 2012 R2 Standard
    - SQL 2012 SP1 Enterprise (default instance) on a 2 node cluster using Windows 2012 R2 Standard
    - Third party wildcard SSL server certificate installed on both Windows servers
    - SSRS is installed in native mode using the default instance
    - SSRS web service URL is bound to the certificate on port 443 and port 80 is disabled
The issue appears during the installation of the MBAM Reports feature.  I receive confirmation that all prerequisites have been met but after inputting the configuration information on the next screen, the following error appears:
"Unable to connect to the Reporting Services web service.  Error message: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."
The event viewer logs 2 event ID 800 errors:

I have verified the certificate using Internet Explorer and visiting the SSRS URI.  Each certificate in the chain comes back as OK so I'm unsure why the error reports "the remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure".
Any guidance on resolving this error would be greatly appreciated so that I can proceed with this project.  Thanks,

    Hi Mark,
I ended up finding an answer (and should have posted it here).  The steps on
this page were what got the problem resolved.  I'm fuzzy on why the "strong wildcard" (+) character worked with some resources and not others, but changing the ssl binding to the actual fqdn helped for me.
Pay special attention to michael12345's response at the bottom of the page.  Once I did the following
    2. Delete the reservations with:
     netsh http delete urlacl url=https://+:443/ReportServer/
     netsh http delete urlacl url=https://+:443/Reports/
    3. Create new ones with:
netsh http add urlacl url=https://mydomain.com:443/ReportServer user=MYSERVER\MyAccout
netsh http add urlacl url=https://mydomain.com:443/Reports user=MYSERVER\MyAccout
Here is an additional resource regarding the strong wildcard character.
    Good luck!

  • Sccm 2012 multiple language reports from mbam integration

I installed mbam on my sccm 2012 primary server and all went well with one exception.  The reports have multiple languages.  In the reports folder that houses the mbam reports, there are multiple folders for the four mbam reports, so I have about
10 different languages for my 4 reports.  I only want english.  I would think that like any other sccm report I can just delete the others I won't use, but am concerned since this is a component of mbam and it might be expecting those reports
as "placeholders" for that data.  Can I just delete the folders for the unneeded languages?  Additionally I am getting an error when launching the reports when the window for the report opens it has at the bottom of the report:  ERROR:
the mbam policy view does not exist.  I am assuming this is because not all the components have been installed in the mbam environment as of yet.  We are upgrading from mbam 1.0 and I am doing the sccm integration piece.  I realize the monitoring
server needs to be installed, the policy template also needs to go somewhere as well, so  suspect this is expected behaviour with only the sccm integration piece involved so far.  THanks!

It's more of housekeeping issue.  I am going to have to delete that folder anyway as right now I am connected to a test database and will need to uninstall mbam and reinstall it when they are ready to point to a different database after testing is
    complete.

  • MBAM 2.5 FIPS Compliance Windows 7 SP1

The only reference I can find with regards to FIPS and Windows 7 with MBAM is in the planning guide which says
Supporting BitLocker Protectors -  Numerical password - applied automatically as part of volume encryption and does not need to be configured except in FIPS mode on Windows 7
So, if I want to use MBAM in a FIPS compliant mode do I just need to enable the use of numerical password?  Or do I also need to make sure that the storage of recovery information is then disabled?
    Thanks

For Win7, you would enable FIPS via GPO before encrypting, and then make sure you set up a DRA for recovery.

    Ours is SSRS 2012.
URL http://yourserver.fqdn.com:/ReportServer will not work, needs the path to the ConfigMgr reports after ReportServer

The URL http://server.fqdn.com/ReportServer is correct. I believe the reason for the error is you have to provide permission to the MBAM service accounts within the SSRS panel found at
http://server.fqdn.com/Reports. There are two places where you can add security and permissions from within SSRS reports URL (Site Settings).
One way you can tell you are going to have an issue before even beginning the MBAM configuration wizard is to enter the
http://server.fqdn.com/ReportServer URL in IE from the MBAM server. If you are prompted for credentials the installation wizard will certainly fail. So, you need to verify that the service account you used in
the SSRS configuration has admin rights on the MBAM server, and hat the MBAM service account that you are using have admin access to the SSRS server.
I think it is clear the issues most of us in this tread are having are permissions based... it is just figuring out where that permissions issue is that is the problem.
See points 5 and 6 of this KB, if you can't hit the SSRS URLs from MBAM server's IE - you're going to get a failure.

EDIT, WE HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE!
In this MBAM 2.5 server configuration guide we inadvertently added a setting that was meant for SINGLE SERVER configuration, while we are using a MULTIPLE SERVER configuration. Link - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn645331.aspx
    We added
    2. Add <RSWindowsNegotiate/> to the rsreportserver.config file as follows:
Which broke the app. We went back and removed <RSWindowsNegotiate/> from rsreportserver.config and it worked without issue.

  • MBAM 2.5 - no TPM - options?

Hello.  So we have MBAM 2.5 (upgraded from 2.0 over the past week), and now we also have our first UEFI computers without TPMs.  We would like to enable USB keys as a protector for these devices, but unless I'm missing something it does not seem
    to be an option.
I was also considering the password method, but even though the release notes indicate that the password method is now FIPS compliant, the GPO (updated with 2.5 ADMX) indicates that it is *not* FIPS compliant.
Under "Configure use of password for operating system drives" it states:
Note: Passwords cannot be used if FIPS-compliance is enabled. The "System cryptography: Use FIPS-compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing" policy setting in Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security
Options specifies whether FIPS-compliance is enabled.
It is enabled in our environment, so does that mean we can not use the password protection, or was the description just not updated?
Our ideal method right now would be to encrypt the OS drive and store the key on a USB drive, in addition to MBAM storing a recovery key.  A second best solution would be FIPS compliant password protection.  Are either/both of these possible?
    Thanks,
    -Nick

    Thanks for the reply!
I still have a question regarding USB protectors though.  When I check the supported protector methods for OS volumes I see:
    Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
    TPM + PIN
TPM + USB key – supported only when the operating system volume is encrypted before MBAM is installed
TPM + PIN + USB key - supported only when the operating system volume is encrypted before MBAM is installed
Password - supported only for Windows To Go devices, fixed data drives, and Windows 8 devices that do not have a TPM
Numerical password - applied automatically as part of volume encryption and does not need to be configured except in FIPS mode on Windows 7
    Data recovery agent (DRA)
So out of those, all seem to be out except for Numerical password and DRA.  None of these options state just USB or USB + password.  How would I enable encryption of the OS Drive with just a USB key?  I've found only a little bit of information
on DRA, and it mentions certificates.  Is that required to configure the USB protector? Which certificate do I need to use?  How would I recover a volume protected with USB if the user loses their USB key?
I've read this article on configuring DRAs but it is pretty confusing and seems to be written for Windows 7/2008r2:

  • MBAM 2.5 InvalidKeyID Fault

    Hello,
I have implemented MBAM 2.5 on my customers site and currently in testing phase. I am getting an error when trying to recover a Recovery Key from the Recovery Key ID.
I have a 3 server topology with SCCM integrated features, a database server and a Administration and Monitoring Server.
2 client are encrypted and I can see the data in the RecoveryAndHardwareCore.Keys table in the MBAM recovery and Hardware Database
When using the MBAM Self Service website I attempt to put in my recovery ID and state reason for Recovery Key (lost Pin etc)
The recovery time takes about 1 minute before returning the message "Invalid Key ID"
I have tested the recovery key this by writing the Recovery Key direct from the sql table in to the recovery screen which worked successfully and allowed me to boot.
so my issue is getting the recovery key from the self service screen.
I have done a bit of research and found the following data in the log: C:\Inetpub\Microsoft BitLocker Management Solution\Logs\Self Service website\Trace2014-07-29_10-59-54.svclog and I receive the following error
Please can anyone help with why I am getting the recovery key and why I am getting "Failed to recover key, InvalidKeyId"
    Thanks

Hey Lancecr - I'm having the same issue (installed without a certificate until we get that resolved).
No custom host name for the web server. Delegation has been set up on the app pool credentials.
Also, I checked the security logs on the SQL server, and I can see the service account for the app pool logging in successfully at the same time the error is generated. A few steps before the error occurs, I also see this error:
       at System.Web.HttpApplication.PipelineStepManager.ResumeSteps(Exception error)
I also see several IIS-Configuration warnings for
Unable to find schema for config section system.serviceModel/bindings (or /client, /behaviors, etc) This section will be ignored.
There is also an error in the ISS-Configuration log (Event ID 10, user is the app pool account) - An error has occurred: Unrecognized element 'providerOption'
This is all I've been able to come up with so far, but I figured I would send it off and see if you had any thoughts or other places I could look.
    Thanks!

You need to be member of the either Advanced Helpdesk group or Helpdesk group. It is not required to be the member of both the groups because both groups has different access to MBAM services  -->Make me correct if I am wrong :)
Rather in MBAM 2.5, you need to be a member of the MBAM Advanced Helpdesk group and
MBAM Report Users groups. As far as I am concerned, Dekac is not able to access information from the database. Dekac could you please confirm that you can access the reports from the MBAM console with the same user credentials.
Also could you please post the screenshot of the pop-up.
