mbp 13"facebook video won't work. The window comes up but it won't let me allow it, it does nothing. Do I need a add in flash player or something?

When starting ff in safe mode, some times i have video and sometimes i don't.
It is just like starting ff in ordinary mode - sometimes there is a problem with video and sometimes not.
However, the video problem occurs more times than when it goes ok.
I unticked the hardware acceleration box but it made no difference.
Also I have played around with all the add -ons and (only 4) extensions ,disabling and enabling them, to no effect.
The odd thing is that this video problem is not always consistent
- sometimes it occurs and sometimes it doesn't..
I have webroot anti-virus and it tells me that my laptop is clean.
There is no Video problem in chrome and IE.
.....A few times in the past, this problem occurred but things came right by themselves.
I have been a fan of ff for many years.

Ok i Have windows vista beta 2 and most of my itunes work fine but videos won't show up, even when i bought one it dident show up, and that is really weird because everything works fine on my laptop with itunes and windows vista beta 2.Why won't it work? if someone can help me that would be great

Embedded video won't work on windows machine....

A friend has asked me to post video on a webpage so I initially put the m4v video on a "movie" page in iweb, published the video. While it plays fine on my mac, it won't work when accessed via a pc. So my next thought was to publish the video to Blip Tv and then embed the code for the flash converted video into iweb. I did this using the insert html snippet function in iWeb. Again, it works fine from my mac but won't load when using a pc. Here's an example:

I did the flash video version using Blip TV which I guess is similar to you tube. Once completed, the site offers the code needed to embed the video into a website-- which is what I did and initially, the video wouldn't play in the Internet Explorer environment. Once I downloaded the latest flash player, it worked however it would be nice if there was a way to include the code for the appropriate flash player with the video -- is that possible? Can you self host flash video on a .mac/me account? Thanks for your help.

Anyone have a fix for Facebook video chat not working in Mavericks?

I have seen many people having the problem of video chat not working in Facbook since upgrading to Mavericks. The good news is the camera icon has reappeared, but it still is not working.

If it is in Messages it will need to be Messages to Messages.
i.e. a Mac Buddy also using iChat or Messages to do Jabber Video chats in the app.
This means it will not connect to someone using a Jabber app that can do Video or the web Page login and using "chat" from there.
I believe the Web Browser method with Facebook's own end to end connection use Flash.
You may need to update a version of Flash if your have it or install it if you do not.
FaceTime would not connect to the Jabber connections that Facebook is running.
FaceTime is it's own service and does not connect to others.
Messages and FaceTime are run on different servers and you can in fact run different IDs in each.
(this can causes issues when your Invoke a FaceTime Video Chat from Messages which presumes the Contact is using the same ID).

IChat video won't work !! HELP!!!

my girlfriend and I both recently bought mac laptops and hope to have some video conferencing on the go, being that i'm moving away. I already have a mini DV camera, and it works fine with the video conferencing....but she has a logitech one and it won't work with ichat....is there something taht needs to be installed or will it just not work for some reason??

Flash videos won't work on Linux Mint 16

Hi! I have an issue. I'm using Mint 16 and Firefox 28. Mathworks' instructions videos won't play saying "Unable to connect to server. Please try using a different browser or try again later. Click here to learn more. Error Code: VE_FMS_CONNECT_FAILED".
Their troubleshooting information did not quite help. Any suggestions? Video does work in Google Chrome.

Try disable the hardware acceleration:
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

My iPod Video won't work with videos!

my ipod video (that i got for christmas) won't work with videos, tv shows, etc. with movies, it says it is loading for about 10 seconds and then it goes back to the menu. same with tv shows, but is completely black screen. help! i don't know what is going on and i really need my ipod to play videos.

ZEN xFi2 video won't work

I am puzzled: I loaded a movie file into my ZEN xfi2 with Creative Centrale. After 20 hours or so of Centrale chewing on the video to process it, it won't play in the ZEN. It shows up in my xfi2 as 'player does not support this format' But?it (a .wmf file) plays perfectly well from the Centrale player, and it plays fine from Windows Media Player after I copied it back to my dri've. It appears to be exactly like my other movies on the player and on my computer.
So, what went wrong? I hate having my gear locked up for 20 hours and then not have the movie play back for no clear reason. Anybody?

The original file was an .mpg MPEG4 file deri'ved from a digitization using the Pinnacle 'Dazzle!' digitizer and AVS Video Editor. I sampled VHS output and stored it as the default file in mpeg4 format from the AVS software. The resulting mpg file played in all software I have, so it appeared to be standard and functional. Having previously had trouble with Centrale and mpeg4 files, I then translated the mpg file to a Windows Media Player .wmv file with?AVS Video Converter software. This resulting file also plays normally in all players on my system. From the Windows filesystem tooltip on the .wmv file it shows a bitrate of 942kbps, a screen size of 920x080 and a size of about 50 megs. I used Creative Centrale to put the file on the ZEN xfi-2 by dragging and dropping this .wmv file. Centrale proceeded to process for a day and a half, and stored the file on my xfi-2. The movie, when?selected in the xfi-2 player won't work, and says the format is not recognized. I have 2 other movies on the player that I have no problems with that I processed similarly at an earlier time. That's about all. But maybe something went haywire at the end, because when I came back to look at Centrale after it finished, it showed an error that 'the semaphore' had timed out. I tested the .wmv from the ZEN by copying back to my computer's desktop. That file plays without problem, so I assume everything went ok.

Which kind of account are you using?
If you are using a business account (for example [email protected]) you must set POP account info properly, filling all the blank fields (name, email address, description, password, Host Name, user's name, SMTP). Just one field blanked causes error in sending/receiving.
If you are using a default account (iCloud, Yahoo!, Hotmail...), fill all the blank fields (Name, Email account, Password, Description) and sign in.
If not works, delete the account and sign in again

How come my video won't work?...after I downloaded Os x mountain lion?

I Downloaded the Os x Mountain lion and now my video does not work when I make a video call on Skype. Please help.

This one is easy. The shortcut is for the old iTunes, that is why it won't work.
I assume you are using Windows.
If so, go to the bottom left of your screen and click the start button. Go up to programs and hold your cursor over it. A list of all your programs should pop up to the right. Move the curso over to iTunes. There should be an "about iTunes" and an iTunes logo there. Right click on the iTunes logo and click create shortcut (you can also just drag it out to your desktop). That will give you a desktop shortcut for your new version.

I have recently updated my Apple TV (gen 2) and now Airplay video won't work. I can hear the audio, but no video. I have unplugged, replugged, restarted. Help! This problem is all post-upgrade.

My apple tv which has always worked beautifully is not picking up airplay from my ipad. It is picking up the audio, and it will certainly do that "mirroring" thing where you watch a grainy computer screen on your tv, but it won't work the way it used to. Any help? I have plugged and unplugged, reset and restarted everthing to no avail. Icons are available, I see the apple tv option on all devices but it just won't do it's thing. Help!

Sometimes a simple power cycle of your your wireless network can resolve some AirPlay issues. I would also recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.

So what happens if you go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General? Are you able to go there at all? If you are able to go there, can you unlock the preferences using the lock in the lower left and your login name and password?
If you are able to do this, can you change the "Allow applications downloaded from:" to Anywhere?

Videos won't work on my ipod... Tried different converters and restoring it

I've restored my ipod to factory settings a hundred times and i've tried different video converters like xillisoft and videora and they all work but when I play the video it will work for a minute or so then it will stop for a few seconds. Usually when the video resumes there is no sound. If i fast forward then rewind back to same spot it usally fixes the problem but it will just happen again every 45 seconds or so. What the heck is wrong with my ipod.

Three new Macs ... iChat video won't work over WAN

Hi,
We just bought two iMacs and a MBP, all running Leopard. We can iChat when in the same house on the same wireless network, but when we go back to our homes, it doesn't work. Below is the error. We can use Skype video no problem. iChat text works works fine. We've reinstalled iChat, matched or unmatched the font, reduced the bandwidth in iChat, etc. We haven't altered the router settings. Hope someone has a suggestion. Thanks.

We do agree that there is a good possibility that the log that was posted is from a Bonjour (ie; local) iChat session.
The 192.168.1.x subnet is part of an address block assigned by the authorized addressing body as Private addresses. They should not be advertised on the public Internet and are NOT routeable across the public Internet. Also, when you mention other logs in these discussions, aren't most of the logs and/or discussions here of scenarios when something does not work ?? Can you refer to a known, good, working iChat video-chat log going across a WAN/Internet (not a local LAN or Bonjour) that shows both the To: and From: IP addresses as 192.168.x.x ? The bottom line is if the actual transmitted SIP:invite packet (not some possibly inaccurate Log message) has a 192.168.1.x address as the destination IP, I do not think it will work. Some of the Logs that iChat provides do some processing or filtering such that I am not sure that it is an actual packet capture/decode.
Again, I am certainly open to learning something, but my understanding is if the packet put onto the wire is destined to be routed across the Internet to another user behind a NAT router, a destination IP (or a To: address) of 192.168.1.x will not work.
The process when going across the Internet , as I understand, is very simple;
- login to OSCAR server on "typical" port 5190
- after OSCAR authentication, login to BOS server, get Buddy List, "self info" such as publicly visible IP address, etc...
- initiate Chat request to a Buddy (example userB)
- send Chat request message to BOS server requesting Chat with userB, still on port 5190. Chat request includes data indicating the userA public IP address and public SIP signaling port number. UserA may have obtained this info via communication with the SNATMAP server, where it sends a message fom a private (ie; 192.168.x.x.) source IP address and private source port number to the SNATMAP server, which then sends back a message telling the userA what IP and Port were actually received...in other words, the publicly visible IP and port that the NAT router translated the private ones to. Typically the private ones would be 5060, 16384-16403..but others are possible.
- BOS server relays Chat request to userB, including "rendez vous" data which has userA IP address and SIP signalling port number.
- UserB may send back a message via the BOS server to the userA indicating its public IP and public SIP signaling port number as well.
- One end can now initiate the SIP:invite message with the Destination IP and port# equal to the PUBLIC IP/port that was sent in the Chat request
- The public port# should be open since the userA/B would have sent messages to the SNATMAP server so as the "open" the port on the NAT router.
- The SIP:invite message will have an SDP section that will indicate which port numbers to use for Audio, Video, Audio Contol, ad Video Control. Again, these should be the "publicly" visible (ie; Internet side of the NAT router) ports as learned via SNATMAP (or other methods such as UPnP..). The internal values for these ports are typically 16384,16385,16386,16387 for Tiger and 16402 for Leopard. The publicly visible values depend on the specific NAT router and how it translates internal address/port numbers.
- Once each end receives the SIP:invite and SIP:ok with the SDP session parameters, they will negotiate audio, video, etc..parameters..and if they agree, it should work.
The key n all of this is to get the correct SIP signaling port number, and then the correct SDP session attributes which include the A/V and A/V control (ie; RTP, RTCP) port numbers. And, finally these must be public, Internet routeable addresses in order to work across the Internet.
