MBP 2012 Battery not charging While playing Games like Maxpayne 3

The charger runs normally, how it should when im just browsing around online and stuff. But when I'm gaming, for instance on Max Payne 3. It would go green,  ive got yesterday my new MBP non Retina (i7 2.66, Anti Glare, 750GB@7200,8GB RAM,15" NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB,
I installed Bootcamp- win7 64-bit Ultimate, i hve same problem when i play Maxpayne 3, and also for crisis2 , but it went on green only when i quit game its charging back to orange, and i notice while in game my battery didn't charge,
i called apple they said same like go to apple store, and GPU heat is also 80 with iSATAPP , but even though it goes that heat noting happen i played almost 2 hrs, today i will again will play more time , and i will update windows updates hope will do any thing.. will post here soon...i think not only new MBP has this problem
i have still 14 days to return this. MBP.. can also return at westfield.
not sure abt retina / i dont like it coz less custom not worthy for money,,,
Thanks,

Some of the heavy gamers do feel the Windows machines are better suited since they can go to the high-end video/graphics support.  But, as you say, that is a big extra expense.  If you are not into that kind of high-end gaming the Mac is fine, the 2011 MBP is a great machine.  I've been using this one since it came out and it is rock solid.
But I don't put a heavy load on it in the gaming area.  I run FORTRAN scientific codes which are heavy loads on the CPU, but not the GPU so there is not that added electrical demand.
An external graphics card does not seem like a real need to me, especially since you would probably then be looking at another monitor, also.  If you are not having any system issues beyond the 60 w charger being undersized, why mess around more than you have to?
Just my two cents

  • Macbook pro 15'' 2011 will not charge while playing games under win7 64

During the game (under high load ex. crysis2), the charging LED changes from orange to green and the computer does not charge,
even the battery drains slowly. If battery charge is 100%, in about 50 minutes after the start of the game, the battery charge drops to 94% and
when I quit the game the charging LED changes from green to orange... What's the deal?  (Sorry for my english, i'm italian ).

I've just bought a 17" MBP and I'm having the same issue, but in OSX and Linux just the same.  In one incident, my battery was running low so I plugged it in, but it still died about 10 minutes later because it continued to draw more power than the Magsafe plug could provide.  Needless to say, there was quite a bit of filesystem corruption from the sudden power loss.  That this is a common issue to 2011 MBPs does not magically make it "acceptable", especially when the fix consists of providing a more powerful charger.
For a $2500 laptop this is absolutely ridiculous.  If the thing draws 100w under peak usage, make a damned charger that provides 120w.  In the worst case, it will keep the computer running without unduly stressing the battery.  In the best case, it will charge the battery much faster.

  • HT1688 My iPhone 4s battery got drained while playing games, and now it won't open even if im charging. what can i do?.

My phone's battery got drained while playing games and now it wont open if i connect it to my charger,?.what can i do? my phone was given to me as a gift from the a relative in the US and im from the Philippines. How can i fix it? Do i need to bring it to any apple center to have it replaced? or is there a quick fix to this problem?...

Keep iPhone on Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still OFF, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can sometimes take about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons while on charger.

  • MBP battery will not charge when playing games.

I have a late 2011 15-inch MacBook Pro and have had upgraded 16GB RAM for two years.
An avid Sims 3 player, I have 6 expansion packs and play regularly. I have never had a problem with playing on my MBP.
I had to get a new charger in December and got an Apple certified 60W MagSafe charger for $40 (has serial number, designed in CA, assembled in China, Apple logo, everything). I purchased another one for my Sims-playing roommate as well.
Ever since I've had a new charger my MBP immediately stops charging when I load up the game, and from there the battery life depletes despite staying green. I know that The Sims 3 draws a lot of power, but I have never had a problem with charging while playing. My roommate has an older MBP, even more expansion packs for Sims 3, and yet the same charger that I got for her works fine while playing.
Is it my charger, battery, hardware, or what that is not allowing me to play?
    Thanks!

  • MacBook Pro 2012 Battery Not Charging

I have this 1-year old MacBook Pro 13" 2012 model. It was working fine till one day, it decided to die, just like that. Now it shows "Battery Not Chaging, Condition: Replace Now". What do i do? It has done only 200 charge cycles. Resetting SMC/PRAM does not do anything, except that the fans run louder.
What do I do now? Is there any fix (SMC Firmware Upgrade) or do I take it to a Service Center ? I want to avoid paying unnecessary money.

Yes.  Take it to an Apple store genius bar and have them check the MBP. The evaluation will be free.  If a new battery is required (which the 'Replace Now' indicates), then you should have one installed.  Though unlikely, there may be another issue that may not require replacement.
    Ciao.

  • Battery Not Charging While Computer Is On

I have a Presario cq50z-100. The wire on the AC adapter was ripped open broken wires were exposed. I never put the broken charger in the laptop. Two weeks ago I bought a new charger and have been having a lot of problems. The charger is certified to work with my computer, has the same connector, and the same voltage. It can power the computer, but while the computer is on it wont charge. The battery icon reads plugged in and charging, but there is a red x over it, it doesn't actually charge, and the battery LED on the computer flashes. However while the computer is off the LED stays lit and the battery charges. I've already updated the drivers and messed with power options I could find.

I see you are having an issue charging the battery and are getting an error message about the smart adapter.  If you are getting  the error ""The smart AC adapter connected will power your computer, but potentially at a reduced performance level." there seems to be an issue with it. That is most likely the reason for it not charging the battery while awake, as it is affecting the performance.

  • Iphone 6 plus heats up while playing games like Asphalt 8 and GT racing 2

When ever i try to play games on my iphone 6 plus 16 GB the back of the cover heats up immediately. I had updated the OS to 8.1.3 and resoted it from itunes as per the advisor suggestion from Apple but no solution till now. Can any one let me know if they are facing the same issues with their phone. Is hardware issue ? Pl help

As pointed out its because the processor is being used hard which in turn generates heat. Any computer will do the same thing. Do you have a case on the phone? If so remove it. The heat can dissipate quicker. There's nothing wrong with the phone or software.

  • Does iPod charge while playing games?

    G'day,
Given the amount of battery drain caused by games, I played Texas Hold 'Em with the iPod plugged in. Unfortunately, the battery was still quite low after about 30 minutes.
Should the battery drain have been minimal while the iPod was plugged in or is it behaving correctly? It's an 80g iPod which was purchased at the beginning of December.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Doug

it was low cos even though it was charging, the game was going, so it was sort of going down sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly.

  • Battery not charging while connected to computer.

I just bought the iPhone and when the battery is very low, it won't charge on my computer and it won't even open up iTunes automatically when I connect it. The batter icon doesn't show as well. It does charge when I connect it to the wall outlet and it will charge on my computer if it is about 1/3 or more full. I connect it to my computer and wait to see if anything happens, but it doesn't. I tried turning it off, and resetting it, but still nothing.

I've been having a similar issue for several months now. There are several other threads here dealing with this topic and I've tried all the solutions suggested. All work some of the time. None work all the time. These include:
    • changing charging device (ie, using wall charger instead of USB port, or vice versa)
    • power cycling the phone
    • doing a reset on the phone
The issue is intermittent and occurs regardless of the charging device in use, and does not appear to be an overheating issue, as it can happen even if the phone has been out of use for a while.
Apple has twice replaced my phone (thank God for AppleCare), but the problem has persisted. Right now, the only thing the Apple technicians can suggest is that I wait for tomorrow's OS upgrade and keep my fingers crossed.
Given that (for me, at least) the issue dates back to the approximate time of the last OS upgrade (to 3.1.3), I'm sure hoping that will take care of it.
Tonight for example, I spent two hours on the phone, while it was plugged into the computer. The phone was draining the whole time (as I discovered when the call was over). It then took me 20 minutes of fiddling with the various "fixes" to get it charging again. I'm pretty tired of this.

  • Battery not charging when plugged in

I have a Pavillion g6-1d11dx laptop and I have two problems (and I don’t know if they are related). First, I have been having trouble with the battery not charging while it is plugged in to the AC outlet. The battery icon in the systray currently says “40% available (plugged in, not charging)” and the percentage has been consistently going down over many weeks. Most recently, when I unplug it from the AC it no longer goes to battery reserve, it just loses power entirely (and when I plug it back in and turn on the power I get the “system was not shut down properly…” message).
Second, and I don’t know if this is related, but for several weeks the fan has been running, seemingly non-stop, especially overnight. I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I have a scheduled nightly (1 am) definitions update and full scan that usually takes about 2 to 2-1/2 hours. But my wife says no matter when she gets up in the middle of the night, the fan is always running, and the unit has been very hot. My wife has been concerned about a fire (though it's not a model listed in the recall). I downloaded a BIOS update from the HP website hoping that would help. The fan seems to have been running less, but hasn’t stopped entirely.
I wanted to see if I could detect any problems with the battery, so I went through all the suggested troubleshooting protocols listed on the HP website, but ran into a hitch when I tried to use the HP Support Assistant utility on the laptop. When it opens, the Support Assistant displays "An error occurred" (instead of "Support Assistant") in the window's title bar and the system variables ([Product Name], [Serial Number] and [Product Number]) listed in the Support Assistant status bar all say "Loading...", but never do load. When I go to the Maintain mode to check the battery status, it says "No pending action", and, as suggested on the HP website, I click the Refresh button (then, in the pop-up window that appears, I choose the “Check all updates, but install only important updates automatically” radio button, then click OK). But while the result page displays “Pass” on the checks for “Connect to HP servers” and “Preparing the action list”, it displays “Fail” on the checks for “Downloading updates”, “Gathering information” and “Analyzing your system”. Oddly, when I run the system check from te HP website, it DOES auto-detect my system info (Serial Number: 5CG21919LT; Product Number: B7S84UA).
I tried to open the HP Connection Manager utility, but I get the HPConnectionManager.exe fails to load ("Cannot load assembly: CaslShared, Version=3.5.1.1, Culture=neutral,  PublicKeyToken=9c6f83d5b7f3d097. The application will now exit.").
Can someone tell me how to properly connect to HP to allow the utilities to do their diagnoses? And/or why my battery isn’t charging and I can’t get a system diagnostic?

I should note that this unit is pretty new: purchased in august 2012.

  • What would cause the original I Pad shut itself off while playing games or online? it is not a battery issue or time issue. When I turn it back on it goes to were I was  when I was online ,but have to start games over.

The original iPad has a slow processor and only 256 MB of memory so it often runs into low-memory failures.
Double click the home button and dismiss all of the recents - I do that weekly.
Then reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider - I also do that weekly.
Both seem to help to reduce the low-memory faults that occur.

  • Is it a good to have your iPhone charging while you game on it or not?

Because the battery drains pretty fast playing games (especially 3D ones). Or should this be avoided?

Charging the battery anytime is ok. It will not overcharge. Draining the battery once a month is good to excersize it and recalibrate the meter.
Normally I charge mine while asleep, but if it gets low before bedtime I plug it in for a charge.

  • Battery not charging and MBP not waking up from sleep

I've got both of these issues happening. Sounds like I just have to wait it out on the sleep issue until a point at which Apple will issue a fix. The battery not charging is becoming especially frustrating though. I've had the computer for about a month and it just started a few days ago. I've checked the battery to see if it qualifies for replacement and it has the correct model number but the s/n has a different last for digits. I've unplugged/removed battery/held down the power button and no change, the battery still does not charge. Seeing as the MBP will run with the power cable inserted and the battery removed, I'm assuming that the cable's ok, the light has rarely come on at all lately -- no green or amber. Any advice here? I'm getting pretty frustrated with this thing.

I met the same issue, the difference is while i touch the track pad or move mouse or hit keyboard, the screen responds rapidly and then back to black. tap the keyboard, it beeps... I can do nothing except "command+control+power" to restart or long press power to power off it.
I found it only happens after I installed 10.8.2, it works well before 10.8.2 update.
    any help please?
