MBP Battery shows 1:35 after calibration - How to improve?
My MacBookPro battery was giving me about 35 minutes of use unplugged, so I found the "Calibration" instrux. I ran a movie continuously looping until the computer shut down. I left it off overnight, then charged it completely the next day.
When I next unplugged it, it at first showed 1:35, but it actually shut down after just 37 minutes.
I've searched for recall info, but have found nothing -- can anyone contribute info about this?
Thankx -- Bill
Contact AppleCare. Your battery is prematurely failing. Apple spec is 80% health for 300 cycles. You are at 31% health after 120 cycles (assuming you have a 15"; it's worse if you have a 17"). Apple extended the battery warranty to two years for all Core Duo machines (you don't state in your profile if you have a core duo or a core 2 duo, but many C2D batteries have been replaced under this program as well.
The link is below, have it handy when you talk to Apple as some techs are unaware of the program. There is a recall for specific serial numbers they may mention, which you likely do not qualify for, but the link below is a different program.

My ipod touch battery shows up empty after being charged
Hi, I have had my Ipod touch generation four for a few months and I have noticed in the past week that the battery doesnt show up charged after being fully charged it just displays empty. When I go into an app or a game the battery shows up green and fully charged. So far I have done a full restore and it didnt change the battery at all. The only thing that I had changed in the past week was I downloaded an album onto my computer then put it into my ipod and downloaded a game. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
Have you tried a reset?

IPod mini battery shows empty even after it charged for hours, but works?
i'm new to this, i borrowed someone's iPod mini and when battery ran out i put it to charge to my new macbook, charged for a few hours, lightning bolt showed all the while even if sometimes the indicator showed full and other times it showed that it was charging. now that i've disconnected it, it shows empty but it still works, can anyone help?
I read here http://www.vsa.cape.com/~danh/ipod.htm that this could happen, that the battery indicator could start showing full after 20 minutes... should i start panicking or not?

I have purchased tv shows and waited for what seemed like hours for download but cannot seem to find out how to watch them. I keep being prompted to download again and again??
If you keep being prompted to download again and again, this sounds like the shows were not downloaded.
Movies and TV Shows (after being downloaded) are available in the Videos app. -
How can I improve the performance of my MBP battery?
Hi, I've had my MBP 2.2GHz for about 2 months and a half now. I use the iStat Pro widget, and it says I've cycled the battery 94 times and the health is down to 92%.
I've looked up how to optimize the performance and realized I've misused my battery excessively. I use the WI-Fi 95% of the time. I mainly use it for school. This is what a day in use usualy is:
Charging all night, about an hour of use without power source, half an hour of use connected to the power source, about an hour of use without power source, 40 minutes with power source, and then asleep until I get home and use it usually connected to a power source unless not in my desk.
I still don't quite get what exactly the cycles mean, but I'll be calibrating the battery soon.
The question is: How could I optimize the performance to my battery and what habits will make it last longer? Is there any way I could recover the health of it? I plan on buying a new battery soon.Welcome to the Forums!
Actually, you are already using your battery in an optimal manner. Li-based batteries need to be used frequently and 'lightly' (i.e. not fully discharged too often) for best longevity. 92% health after 94 cycles is good (Apple specification is 80% health for 300 cycles).
You should properly calibrate your battery every 2 months or so:

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
After the update to Lightroom 5.7, the profile of my lenses have disappeared in the camera calibration, how can I import them again because I gave you mine Extra gespeicher. I'm working on a PC.
Can we see a screenshot that includes the filename you're viewing with its extension and the camera Make list?
What is almost always the case when someone says they are missing most of their lens profiles is that their current image is not a raw file. It doesn't matter whether you shoot raw, it matters what the current images is. Maybe it is an exported JPG or a Edit-In-whatever result file that's a TIF or PSD or JPG.
Here are examples of the screenshot that I'm asking for:
Raw files show 24 items in the Make list:
While non-raw files have only 9 items + None in the Make list: -
hey please help!
i was using my ipad it was under 10% but no under 4% it turned off then i pluged the charger in and flashed on then showed apple sign after i turned it on. now its going back and forth from the apple sign and battery symbol ive changed chargers its made no differnce its been like 3 hours ive tried to do that reset thing holding lock button and home button for 10 seconds at the same time. WHAT DO I DO?Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. I was trying to make a new screen recording using quicktimeplay, but when I watched the video after recording it all I could hear was me talking while the video was showing on the screen. How do I turn off that recording and turn the right one on? thanks
Hi j2399123,
It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.
For the QuickTime recording options, check out "Recording with QuickTime Player" in
Mac Basics: QuickTime Player creates, plays, edits, and shares video and audio files
I have iphone 5; my battery life decreased dramatically after updating to ios 6.1.2. How do I delete and go back to previous iso?
Downgrading the iOS isn't supported and wouldn't help even if you could. There have been reports of decreased battery life after every update since iOS 1.0.1.
There are lots of things that can be done including reinstalling push email accounts. basic phone reset (pressing both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears), and restoring the phone with and without a backup. -
I am using iPhone 5 and tried to Erase All Contents and Settings but it is just showing an apple sign on the screen and nothing is happening now for about 3 days now. All it does is eat up my battery and still show apple sign after charging! Help!!!!
Hi DaVince Vince,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). If you are seeing an Apple Logo screen and your iPhone does not appear to be starting correctly, you may find the following articles helpful:
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it - Apple Support
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
My Ipod nano touch is not charging, not showing in my PC or laptop. Last I saw an apple icon and low battery signal. There after the screen is black and no power not taking AC or PC charge. What Can I do?
If the Reset didn't work, you'll need to do a Restore.
From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finished, you will be asked if you wish the contents of iTunes to be copied to the iPad. -
