MBP having trouble starting up
I have not idea what is going on, I havent installed anything and I havent done anything to it that should warrant any problems.
I am very new to MBP and I have noiticed it is taking longer and longer to boot up. Now this morning it took three times before it would boot up. It started made the start up noise then the little spinning circle came on and then went to blue screen and then made the noise again and then did that all again and then started but not after I had to hold down the power button for a few moments. Is this a common problem? Its only 1 1/2 months old...
Thank you
1. How much free space on your hard drive?
2. How many files are cluttering your desktop?
3. Have you booted from your OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utilities?

I am having trouble starting Indesign with the folio builder panel
Every time I start indesign and change my tools to the DPS tool set the folio builder pannel flickers and then disappears and then indesign shuts down.
I had some success deleting the preferences files but need a long term fix. Any thoughts?Well yes, of course you are having trouble using MobileMe because MobileMe no longer exists and has not existed for the last 2 years at least.
MobileMe has been replaced by iCloud, so you will never be able to use MobileMe because it does not exist.
Also, I would suggest that you look more closely before you post, because you have posted this in an iPhone forum and this question has nothing to do with iPhones. You would get more help if you posted in the correct forum. -

Hi:
I am having problem starting the J2EE Server.
I have looked through this page where lots of people had similar problem:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=468079
but the solutions provided there could not solve my problem...
My problem, specifically, is that when I try to start the sever, I get:
com.sun.enterprise.admin.servermgmt.DomainException: ...
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
I am using Windows XP Professional on IBM ThinkPad X30.
Does anyone have some idea how to solve the problem?
Thanx!bsankararao,
Thanks for the quick response. I am currently using the latest IE6.0 XPXP2 version and yes I doe have a successful start of the domain1 process. Here is the startup log for verification:

Having trouble starting up.
G4 dual 800 - OSX 10.4.5
Basically when I try to start up I get to the point where the desktop usually appears, but I only see the Spotlight Icon inthe top left corner of the screen, and a spinning Beach ball and the rest of the screen is just blue (usual desktop background color).
I've booted into Unix Safe Mode, and did a fsck -y -f, and then rebooted, but still having the same problem. Spotlighticon and spinning Beachball is as far as I can get.
What next?Try using Disk Utility to repair your startup disk (hard drive) as shown in Dr.Smokes Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption. The Disk Utility on the disk is more robust then fsck. The most improved version is in 10.4.5. If you have a clone of your system on an external, run DU from there to repair your main drive. You can also do it from another Mac using Target Disk Mode. Apple recommends using DU over fsck when running Tiger.
Cheers!

Safari having trouble starting
For some reason, a couple of days ago, when I would open my Safari the program would launch but it then freezes up the whole system while it starts up. It just loops with the rainbow wheel for about 30 to 45 second then it finally starts up and then it works fine. I've tried starting it from both the dock and from the applications folder-- both with the same effect. I have other browsers installed (such as firefox) and those work just fine with no problems? Anyone have some tips?
Hi Jon
there are several other possibilities, but I'd next try Safari from another user account :
If you don't already have another User Account - it's simple to create one:
Open System Preferences (if you can't find this, look in the Applications Folder)
Click on Accounts
Click the Padlock icon at the lower left & enter an Admin Password
Now click the + button just above the padlock
Enter a name for the new account - like "Test"
You can leave the password field blank if you wish
Leave the "allow user to administer this computer" box UN-Checked
Click "Create Account"
Now you have another Account to test Safari in -
Log Out from your normal Account via the Apple menu at top-left of your screen
Log in to the Test Account that you created
Does the problem still show up in the Test Account ? -
Having trouble starting up garageband
Everytime I try to start up garageband it shows this intializing status window. Then it quits and then when I try to reopen it, the window shows up again and then I have to force quit. What should I do? I've tried reinstalling it from the install disk for OS X and it does the same thing.

Having trouble starting Acrobat XI
I just installed Acrobat with a trail licence. But nothing shows up when I start the program. I went in to Task Manager and I found that the process immediately closes itself after starting.
I would like to provide the error log if I could find it. I am running Windows 7Hi khorozman,
Please try the steps below :
> Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-adminis trator-account-on-windows-vista/ )
> Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-servic es-windows.html )
> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and login to the enabled Administrator account an check Acrobat's performance. -
HELP first time mac user, having trouble starting the computer
it worked yesterday, but i couldnt find iphoto so i put in a disc i think it was the leopard disc and now the computer is taking ages to do anything and says cannot install because i am missing version 4? or something like that and asks me to restart my startup disc, but when i do that it just repeats the process over again what do i dooooooo?????????????
Backup cowboy (or cowgirl). Let's start at the beginning, first what iMac do you have and what version of OS X are you using. You can easily tell by clicking the Apple icon in upper left of this screen, then click About this Mac.
Chances are iPhoto is still on your computer, it may have gotten removed from your Dock but that can easily be put back. In Finder navigate to Applications - iPhoto and drag iPhoto back onto your dock.
After you have done that remove the disc you put in, there is probably an eject button on your keyboard that looks like a triangle with a line under it. Good chance it's above the delete key.
Let us know how you're doing now.

What do i have to do . i already have the serial code and stuff.
As Manish said, perhaps some more info would help. You could always try some of these suggestions to re-initialize the licensing system and see if it works.

Kernel Panic & Trouble starting up.
So my MBP has been crashing. I'll just browse the web and the screen will go black. It is a kernel panic, but also been having trouble starting up after the panic. It will freeze, show wavy lines, etc. I'll include pictures of the start up screens. Sometimes it takes me 4 or 5 boot ups until it starts up.

Ciao. -
I bought my power mac about 5 years ago. Last year I started having trouble starting up when the machine was cold. I put a heater on the unit for about 30 minutes in the morning and then it would start up ok. Through the summer and once the weather got warmer there was no problem.
Now with the start of fall and cold nights, I seem to be having the same problem.
I am concerned that the system drive has five years of usage and am thinking of swapping it out. Any other thoughts???Clone it weekly or twice a month.
Rotate and replace recycle drives
Backup your data even more - daily and weekly sets
In 5 yrs drives have more than doubled in performance, and other than in last month the price per GB (and MB/sec) has dropped.
SSDs are now pppular system boot drives, 10K drives have improved, 2TB $150-200 for media data and backup
Clone your system twice and if it has trouble swap it out and test/zero the drive.
Last year? you don't run on a bad tire or a system having trouble except to pull the drive/tire and put on spare.
There are procedures for repairing a sytem and drives, and then you get into "Why" and troubleshooting causes if necessary. -
Trouble starting Managed Server
I'm having trouble starting a managed server.
I have 'myomain' running on 7001, and attempt to start 'examples' on 7006
as a managed server pointing to 7001 as the admin server.
I've modified a copy of startWebLogic.sh to include the following -D parameters:
weblogic.management.server=127.0.0.1:7001
weblogic.management.password = <password for mydomain>
weblogic.management.username=system
When run, the 7001 access.log contains the following entry, so I know the reqest
is getting to the mydomain server:
127.0.0.1 - - [13/Nov/2000:14:06:13 -0700] "GET /Bootstrap HTTP/1.1" 200 125docs60/notes/issues.html
The terminal session that is attempting to start 'examples' barfs with the following:
<Mon Nov 13 14:12:25 MST 2000> <Error> <Configuration Management> <Error connecting to admin server to boo
tstrap via URL: http://127.0.0.1:7001/Bootstrap, user: system

Full Text is attached.
I noticed the post on 27-Oct by Sanjeev Chopra related to a known bug on this subject, but my
error text is quite different and I wasn't sure if this is the same problem.
Please advise.
Thanks

I noticed the post on 27-Oct by Sanjeev Chopra related to a known bug on this subject, but my
error text is quite different and I wasn't sure if this is the same problem.
Please advise.

Trouble starting managed weblogic server on another machine in acluster
Hi,
I was having trouble starting managed weblogic server on another machine in a cluster from the command prompt
I have following setup:
1) BEA weblogic is installed on 2 machines - local machine A with ip address 172.17.2.219 and another machine B with ip address 172.17.2.201
2)node manager is running on both machines
3)An admin server myserver on the local machine at port 7001
4)In the admin tree under Machines a new machine is created 'Machine1' with Node manager Listen Address: 172.17.2.201
5) The managed server 'BEAServerMan1 ' instance is created with listen Address 172.17.2.201 and port 7705. This Server is assigened to Machine1. The server also belongs to a cluster 'Cluster1' where the 172.17.2.201:7705 is part of the Cluster Address.
I can start 'BEAServerMan1 from http://172.17.2.16:7001/console/
But I am unable to start BEAServerMan1 from the console using the command :
startManagedWebLogic BEAServerMan1 http://172.17.2.219:7001
startManagedWebLogic.sh BEAServerMan1 http://172.17.2.219:7001
