MBP late 2013 and TP-Link Archer C7 at 5Ghz

My MBP late 2013 is unable to establish a stable connection with TP-Link Archer C7 AC 1750 at 5Ghz. The connection is working fine for some time and drop to nothing after that. The only way to restor it, is to reboot the router. At same time the Apple TV is working okay at 5Ghz and there are no problems.

try OpenWRT.
I'm ordering the same router and am planning to run it with OpenWRT. Depending on the hardware revision of the router, openwrt will (or will not) run.
Hope my router will arive this week and will be able to share my success report.

  • Yosemite slow on MBP late 2013, did several clean installs

I've got a MBP late 2013 which I upgraded from Mavericks to OS Yosemite. When I did it, the impact was bad: all applications and OS is slow, to write an email or to  open simple files have to wait more than 30 secs. i have read all the topics here, have done clean install several times with time machine restore of only apps.
Still MBP is slow, have done PRAM, MCC etc.
    how to solve this?

  • MBP late 2013 won't connect to TV with HDMI cable

Yesterday I connected my MBP (late 2013) with a SCEPTRE TV using an HDMI cable and it worked perfectly.
I wake up the next day and try to connect it again but the TV says "No Signal"
I didn't touch the set up in any way so nothing changed physically.
    Please help

  • A solution that works for Windows 8.1 on MBP Late 2013

Here is how I could successfully install Windows 8.1 on Mbp Late 2013 running Maverick:
Follow precisely these steps and you will be done in 30 minutes:
1/ Using BootCamp Assistant, create a USB stick and select all three options including Bootcamp updates, etc.
2/ Set your partition size when asked.
3/ IMPORTANT: When reboot, Hold the Option key and Boot again on Maverick (do not boot on the USB stick)
4/ When back on Maverick, run Disk Utility, select Macintoch partition and choose Partition tab.
5/ Select the BOOTCAMP newly created partition (the one at the bottom) and press minus to remove it.
6/ Apply for changes. At this point, BOOTCAMP partition should be gone.
7/ Press + to add a new partition that will likely be called Machintoch HD2 or so.
    8/ Rename it to BOOTCAMP
9/ IMPORTANT: Change the partition type to ExFAT.
    10/ Apply again for changes.
11/ Reboot your Mac and Press Option again. Select WINDOWS (Orange USB device)
12/ Windows installation process should start and bring you to the partition selection.
13/ Select the BOOTCAMP partition (the one at the bottom) and FORMAT it.
14/ Press Next and get going through Windows 8.1 installation.
15/ IMPORTANT: Each time a reboot occurs, press Option key and select WINDOWS Drive (NOT the ORANGE USB stick)
16/ Finally, Windows 8.1 will get installed and will ask for BOOTCAMP drivers to get installed. Just follow the instructions.
    17/ You are done.
    P.

Ohhhh, Silly, silly moi. Ok, got it. Now I see "Partition". Thanks! Will try again. Downloading Windows support software as I type.
    Thank you.
One more thing - while attempting installation the first time (before I stumbled on this thread) - I looked up YouTube re how to create a USB bootable ISO (which included editing the info.plist file in Boot Camp Assistant).
When I tried installing 8.1 from the ISO, the installation aborted saying "cannot find resources" (something like that) - this occured after the first stage, i.e. while "preparing files to install Windows".
Assuming I get this again (I hope not!), is it because of a corrupted ISO?

  • Have Memory DDR3 instead of DDR3L, Mbp late 2013, 13" is this OK?

Have Memory DDR3 instead of DDR3L, Mbp late 2013, 13" is this OK

As long as all of the specifications are the same, there should be no problems. The DDR3L just stands for Low-Voltage. Pop it in and see if it boots up. Worst that can happen is it doesn't boot. Then you just pull it out and put the old RAM back in. It should work, though.

  • I have Windows 8.1 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013) and it keeps on crashing with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD error

I have Windows 8.1 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013) and it keeps on crashing with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD error. Is this an issue with the bootcamp driver not compatible with Windows 8.1? or is there something I can do to fix this.
I also keep getting WHEA-Logger Event-ID 19 warning events in the Windows Event Logs with the following details.
A corrected hardware error has occurred.
    Reported by component: Processor Core
    Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
    Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
    Processor APIC ID: 3
The details view of this entry contains further information.

likely win8.1 dont have official bootcamp support yet
1/3 of my logins into win8.1 result in a fatal bluescreen
was the same deal when I installed win8 before official support
and when the drivers with official support was released the issue went away

  • New Mac Pro (Late 2013) and CC 2014

Ok, I've been working on one of the new Mac Pro's from late 2013 and using CC 2013 with R3D footage quite successfully (though without great debayering performance on the R3D - I know it's supposed to be improved in CC 2014).
    I'm running 10.9.2 Mac OSX.
When football season here in the states starts in two weeks, I will have a VERY deadline intensive 30 minute television show that I have to turn around from Saturday night at 2am until 8am Sunday morning.
I have purchased CC 2014, but have read in the past few weeks about the headaches the combination of OS 10.9.3 (and .4) and CC 20014 have caused.
My question is, where do we stand with those issues, and what would the community / Adobe moderators say about me heading up to the latest OS and CC 2014 under these circumstances? Thanks so much for the insight everyone.

That's what it suggests to you, in the limited scope of your vision and knowledge, and without your having provided detailed specs about your hardware.
Due to the current unavailability of clairvoyants and mind-readers in the forum, we respectfully request you supply sensible, complete details.
We don't even know what your specific issues are, and for all we know you may be running the pathetic, buggy Yosemite OS—which Apple is giving away for free.
In this case, you have been enormously fortunate in that you received a reply from none other than Gµrµ Chris Cox, a top Adobe engineer who has been writing Photoshop code since the last millennium.
It's hight time you drop the attitude and avoid further embarrassing yourself in a public forum.  Just my two cents.

  • Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013) and support for two external monitor

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro Retina 13" (Late 2013) and are looking to buy two DELL U2414 monitors. But after searching the web i´m a little bit confused if my MBPr will actually supports connecting two montors from one single Display port.
I will be using this montors at work where I use my MBPr with Windows7 (Paralllels).
I want to set up these two monitors with extended desktop not mirroring. The reason of using just one DP on my MBPr is that the other one is used by my wired ethernet connection. Will this work under OSX10.9.2 or 10.9.3?. Does my MBPr 13" support DP1.2a MST that is needed for daisy chain multiple monitors?

The hardware supports DP1.2 and MST but unfortunately at present OS X Mavericks does not.

  • Cannot connect between a Mac Pro (late 2013) and a MBP and vice versa

Cannot connect to Macbook Pro from Mac Pro late 2013. I have tried via ethernet and wifi. I can screen share either way. I have tried to connect to other MBP's on the same network with no luck. I try and connect as a registered user, as I usually do, with no luck. When I enter the Username and then Password the box vibrates as if the details are incorrect, they are definitely correct however.
I have no firewall on. Both devices are using the most recent OS.
    Thanks in advance

  • MBP late 2013 i7 2.3gHZ restart problems and major input lags

Since I've updated my MBP i7 2.3 Ghz late 2013 to OSX Yosemite (10.10.1) I can't restart the macbook with my promise harddrive and apple cinema display still connected via thunderbolt. When I restart it keeps hanging on the grey screen without the apple logo. When I unplug the thunderbolt and usb cable, hold down the power button and turn it back it everything is fine. Just the restart won't work.. Any ideas?
Further more, I receive major input lags in different programs. For example I use Final Cut Pro (10.1.3) a lot for my job. I use managed media library all stored on the promise harddrive via thunderbolt. The footage I use is raw of the SD card from a Nikon D800 (h2.64 mov), of course i let everything import first before editing. Though I get major input lags (0,5-1,5 sec) when pressing the spacebar to play for example. Ive used this workflow exactly the same on my previous MBP (17" late 2011 I think) without any lags.
    Specs of my MBP:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Processor 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
    Storage 512 GB SSD
    Hope anyone can help me.

Your original configuration is an HDD. Have you considered replacing it with an SSD. It helps quite a bit.
The current 2013 (and now the 2014) MBPs are excellent machines, and can run Bootcamp via native EFI (Win 8/8.1 - Win7 has some driver challenges), rather than the CSM-BIOS layer and you will get very good performance. I would recommend a 16GB MBP. If you do a lot of external display work, dual GPUs may work better for you.
I use the TB-to-FW for accessing external disks, not sound cards, but the storage works fine. This machine can support 8GB RAM, which may also be worth considering.

  • VMware Fusion 6 (v 6.0.2), 15" MacBook Pro Retina (late-2013), and Windows 8.1

Does anyone the best recommended settings for the items listed in the subject line?  Resolution looks so small.  I installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my late-2013 15" MacBook Pro (MBP) via VMware's Fusion 6 (version 6.0.2).
    Thanks.

If you used VMware Fusion to install Windows, first make sure you have installed VMware Tools in Windows. Read > http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=display KC&externalId=1003417
Then, you will be able to change the Windows resolution as usual. In Windows, right-click in the desktop and select "Screen resolution". There are other ways to do this > http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor.
There are not best recommended settings because it depends on the hardware of your computer: for example, if you have got 8 GB of RAM, you can assign 4 GB of RAM to the virtual machine (depending on the applications you use), or if you have got a Quad-Core processor with Hyper-Threading, you can assign more processor threads to the virtual machine so you can improve performance.

  • Yosemite - Sleep Wake Failure - MBP Late 2013

    Hi,
I have the following MBP which is currently running Yosemite V10.10.2
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite I get persistent crashes when the machine wakes from sleeping. It's very intermittent, sometimes it'll be fine for days and others it will happen a few times per day. Either way it's very frustrating.
It results in the laptop simply being switched off when I reopen the lid and I have to start again by pressing the power button. Or it has rebooted already and is back at the login prompt. Again, there is no clear pattern when either of those happens though.
The applications I run every day and are usually open when it happens are Chrome and VMWare Fusion 7 running a single VM with Windows8. I also have iPhoto and Eclipse open more often than not.
I've searched the forum and a few people seem to be experiencing similar but not exactly the same symptoms. A search on the reported code doesn't return any results. I've tried a PRAM reset but I get the same behaviour.
Is there any way of diagnosing exactly what's causing this?
    Many thanks,
    Lee

  • Resolution issue with macbook pro 13 (late 2013) and dell u2711

I have a Dell U2711 (native resolution 2560x1440) that I use without issue with a macbook pro late 2007 (running 10.10.x), various iMacs and Macbook air 2011 running 10.10. When I say without issue, the display works at its native resolution.
Last week we got a MacBook Pro 13in, late 2013 model.
If I connect this macbook via either thunderbolt connection to the u2711 using either DVI port on the dell, the maximum resolution that I can use is 1920x1080. I am using apple mini displayport to DVI adaptors (I have tried 2 different ones and 2 different DVI cables, with no improvement). Clicking option + scaled in sys prefs does not give the native resolution as an option.
However, I just discovered that if I use a DVI to HDMI adaptor and I connect the macbook to the display I get the full native resolution without issue (2560x1440).
I have zapped the pram, powered down the display etc etc etc and it made no difference.
I would prefer to use the mini DIsplayPort to DVI adaptor rather than HDMI, any suggestions appreciated.
    TIA.

  • 15" MacBook Pro (Retina, late-2013) and Microsoft Office 2011

Is there a known issue with Microsoft Office 2011 and the 15" MacBook Pro (Retina, late-2013)?  Specifically, is there an issue with how MS Office (e.g., MS Word) displays one the Retina screen?
    Thank you.

  • Why isn't Photoshop fully optimized for the Mac Pro (Late 2013), and when will this happen?

On the new Mac Pro (late 2013):
Currently, Photoshop CC 2014 seems to lag behind iMacs and Macbook Pros (even older ones) for some tasks.
I assume that this issue is related to either multi-core processing but seems more likely to be a problem with the ATI GPUs not being optimized as the Nvidia GPUs are.
Why is this the case, and when will this be addressed?
Any feedback from Adobe official would be appreciated.
    Thanks
