MBP low voice output

Hello,
I've got a macbook pro for almost a year with lion.
Suddenly a few days ago the voice output (via the bluetooth device) became very low.
From the iPhone the voice is great so it's not the bluetooth device.
What can I do?
Thanks a lot.

It's funny... I'm still trying to figure that out. There is one program that says "Quick Message" when you get one. At the same volume level as previous laptop, it is quieter. But with volume full up I believe things are a loud as they were before.
I just played a stored mp3 that I am have played before. I think the mid-volume is softer than it was. From there down I don't hear the song at all. But from mid to above I believe I can get the song as loud as before.
I did notice something but it wasn't conclusive. As more people chime in maybe there will be a consensus.

  • MacBook Pro 2009 - Window 7 - Low Volume Output

I am experiencing low volume output on the internal speakers and slightly better volume on headphone output under BootCamp with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. And of course the red light emitting diode is one constantly in the audio output jack.
I have seen fixes for the Windows XP folks over time and on my older MacBook (2006) with Vista x64, I found a fix. I have seen some thoughts on installing RealTek HD Audio drivers and that DID NOT work for Windows 7 x64 on my MacBook Pro 2009. I also tried reinstalling the CirrusAudio x64 from the BootCamp 3 drivers on my Snow Leopard DVD.
So I am left wondering if a driver update is forthcoming or if there is a fix that has been discovered and not reported online yet?

I'm going to leave this message for reference to other users...
As of October 22 2009 there is no known fix for the broken Cirrus Logic driver that comes with Bootcamp 3.0 under any 64bit Windows OS (including Windows 7 and Vista).
Apple seriously ***** for not doing anything about this for MONTHS and has lost a customer forever. I was going to get a 17in to complement my 13in MacBook Pro but this kind of driver issues is just plain unacceptable, and goes to show how you can't rely on a company like Apple for mission critical systems, period.
If they want to make ANY inroad in the corporate world the better get their stuff together and start delivering, the famous "excellent customer experience" for me is nowhere to be found. Lacking that, mac computers are only pretty although non-functional machines.
Sorry for the rant... I hope somebody from apple listens, but I doubt it.

  • Reader X: Read Out Loud function not working; no voice output

I was using this function in the Reader 9.4 but the voice got the text a bit garbled at times, so I thought I'd try the latest version of the Reader and see if the passage was less garbled.  Reader X has no voice output at all, even after setting and confirming accessability config.  I messed with all 3 options of text buffering.  I know the pdf file I'm viewing is ocr not image (at least Reader 9.4 could read it w/ a bit of it being garbled).  Not sure what else to try; Text Aloud voices still work in that application.

I'm just now bumping into the problem again.  I've got choices in "preferences - reading" of 3 AT&T voices and the default MS voice.  I prefer the AT&T Voices that I got from text aloud.  But they don't work even if I can point to one of them via preferences.  But the default MS voice works I found out, eventaully.  I guess I'm OK w/ just that voice available to me rather than "enabling protected start up" and reinstalling the AT&T voices (think that's what you suggest to do).  BTW, "enabling protected start up" is already set so maybe this would not work.  Also not sure I have the voices on disk so... can I even reinstall them?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Bad sound and low subwoofer output on Audigy 2 zs with 5.1 5

    Hi,
I am getting very very low subwoofer output on my Audigy2 ZS with 5. 5200.
To test furthter, i did the follownig
    play mp3,
2 output is from front speakers
3 very very low subwoofer output
4 to confirm, removed green (front) black (read) cabled from sound card and can confirm a very very low subwoofer output
earlier with Li've! 5. every thing was working great.
    what could be wrong?
i think Audigy 2 zs is a bad card and is a marketting hype.
is it that we need a different kind of cable to connect Audigy2 zs with 5. 5200? ( i am using the cable which came with my 5200 ofcourse)Message Edited by kotecha on 2-3-2004 07:23 PM

    Hi Jeremy,
    Thanks for the response.
I have tried all the thx console setup and bass levels.
Its not affecting the subwoofer output very much.
<Infact the subwoofer output is so low that i have to go and put my ears on the subwoofer to see if its producing sound.
<FONT color=#333399>Remember that with Li've! 5. (SB0220) which also i have with me is giving all the great results. so the problem is not with speakers but with the sound card and i want my costly card (zs) to work.
(i still believe the 5. 5200 3 pole cables (green, black, yellow) which we attached to the sound card and speakers are not compatible with Audigy2 zs as zs needs 4 pole cables - but i have not verified this still as it will be a long time consuming exercise - purchasing 4 pole pins and soldering here and there on cables and poles and testing testing)
Also, why the bass boost controls (level and cutoff frequency) in bass boost are disabled? how to bring them to enabled state?
Also, in thx console setup (calibration page) , its not SAVING the changes which i make to Distance, Level and Angle. Why is that so?
To help you further in understand my problem please note that i HAVE updated all the software to its latest versions by doing the software AutoUpdate from creative support site.
So i am having atleast 3 issues now
<. VERY VERY low subwoofer output while playing mp3 on audigy2zs with 5. 5200(this is my major concern)
<2. Bass boost controls are disabled (how to enable these controls?)
<3. its not saving the changes i make to thx setup console calibration page for Distance, Level and Angle.

<FONT color=#cc0066>though the issue in that link is with audigy (2zs) and 5. digital, if you go through that whole thread, you will realise what we go through. THE SUBWOOFER OUTPUT IS A BAD PROBLEM WE ALL ARE FACING WITH AUDIGY AND RELATED.
<EM>I think i am hopeful of a solution as i was always an admirer of creative sound cards (the reason i purchased this costly audigy2 zs). but looking at the issues i am facing, it makes me feel it was a bad bad decision to purchase this costly card.</EM>

  • IDT High Definition Audio CODEC v. 6.10.6395.0 Upon installation I have very low audio output

    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC v. 6.10.6395.0.  5/21/ 2012
Upon installation I have very low audio output!   Screen Shot    Screen Shot 2
        I have tried:
    un-installing and reinstalling the drivers.
Installed the original drivers via HP's website sp53222 for my particular model.  HP  Pavilion HPE  h8-1070t
Any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated.  It would appear IDT who I also emailed and they never responded is responsible for a codec pack that is not fully functional with this motherboard.
was wir lieben meistens nicht kriegen

Did you access the Catalyst Control Center in programs and look at the latest updates for your graphics card and make sure you didn't download the audio drivers they self install and are checked automatically each time you attempt an update for the card.
Did you right click on the speaker in the system tray and go into recodring devices make sure everything is setup propper there sometimes they too can change.
I'm familiar with cakewalk but never used it on Win7 its been many years since I played around with that. If you are using the onboard audio card and it has worked before and not now if I were in your situtation I would attempt to reisntall the dirvers via device manager they do sometimes become corrupt especially if you picked up any malware that was removed by your antivirus software due to the drivers and malware both reside inwindows\system32.
After the reisntall of the drivers if the issue is not resolved I would upgrade the audio card with a  PCIe x1 component such as:
Creative Labs SB1040 PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
     http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-SB1040-Express-Blaster/dp/B000W7PNZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357...
After I paid for a real soundcard with Recording: 24-bit/96kHz and Sound Output Mode - 7.1 and bypassed my onboard audiocard I never had any issues again. My onbaord worked too in the begining for certain things than stopped mysteryously and the reinstallation became ineffective after a while so I decided the money for the tower was invested mainly in the CPU i7 the RAM and HDD.
*** Note if you did install the audio drivers for the graphics card you will have to change the onboard audio in the BIOS from automattic to enabled. Otherwise you will have no sound at all. So never take the audio drivers for the graphics card unless you need them for DVR recording or something. The PCIe audio cards are never effected by this however only the onboard audio. Another reason onboard is a cheap way to go and HP bundles it as cheap as it can my friend.
    Good Luck again!

  • Headset Mic Voice Output to 5.1 Speaker Unwan

Hi. I have a Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer PCI Soundcard that I have configured to output to a Logitech z-5500 5. Surround Sound. which works fine.
I have the motherboard on-board soundcard to output to the headset speakers.
I have also got a headset mic set that I am using with Ventrillo. The setup I am trying to get is that voice speech only comes out of the speakers of the headset and not the logitech 5. speakers. And the game music to come out in 5. surround sound.
    Hardware Setup
    Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer PCI
Asus P5K Premium Wi-Fi/AP Onboard Soundcard Analog Devices HD Audio SoundMax
    Logitech z-5500 5. Surround Speakers
    Seinheisser PC-66 Headset/Mic (/8" Headphone Jack + /8" Mic Jack)
    Wire Config:
    SoundBlaster
    3x output? to 5. Speakers
    x Mic Input from Headset
    Onboard
    x output to Headset (green)
    Software Config:
    Vista x64
    Soundblaster Driver (latest)
    Soundmax onboard Driver (latest)
    Ventrillo Latest
    World of Warcraft
I have got it configured (i think) and it seems to all be working fine but I have noticed that when I am not in game or Ventrillo and in the standard Operating system Vista x64. I notice that I get my voice output to the 5. speakers from my mic if I speak or move the mic. I am trying not to get any interference or sound output from the mic to the logitech speakers.
Did any of you receive a similar problem.. and if so how did you resolve it. As I only want whatever comes IN from the MIC to only OUT to headset speakers.
    Thanks

  • Spa3102 low voice

good day, I'm having problem with our voice with our SPA 3102. When we call using PSTN line, the other party will always complain that our voice is too low, they can hardly hear our voice. But calling through our SIP numbers, we have no problem dealing with this kind of call. Another thing is that our SPA 3102 ring but there is no callee. I mean when our SPA3102 rings and we pick it up ,we can only hear busy tone. Hope you can help me with my problem.

Try adjusting the PSTN to SPA gain and SPA to PSTN gain hopefully this should help you with your low voice problem on PSTN. For the ghost ring , try  setting MWI Ring Splash Length to zero.

  • Baffled by My Low Res Output on FCP7

I'll admit to not being an expert but I'm not a beginner either. This one has me stumped. Producing two minutes videos on DVD with FCP7. Output DV NTSC 720X480 anamorphic. Up until yesterday DVDs looked fine on a 720 widescreen. Then... suddenly... DVED playback resolution is low and credits screen fonts at the end (LiveType Movie) were abysmally low res and fuzzy. Everything seems the same as my previous projects... which all look great! Have tried different codecs, QT , Compressor etc. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone. It's probably something really stupid... but eludes me. Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

    Hi Tony,
I've tried several things. I set my in and out points and exported via Quicktime Movie. I've exported via Quicktime Movie Conversion with several different settings. I've placed my QT export directly into Compressor and tried several methods there... including adjusting frame motion. I'm just totally baffled by the awful low res output. I've done this soooo many times in the past and now, all of a sudden, the output is atrocious.

  • No voice output - only in navigation

  • Low audio output - Speakers advice

    Hi,
I am a proud owner of Lenovo A600. The only drawback seems to be the low audio output. Though the sound quality is fabulous, I cant hear a lot of videos on the internet them from a reasonable distance.
I m assuming that supplementing the audio with speakers is the solution. I have no idea of the type of speakers to buy. Researching on the internet makes me more and more bewildered of the choices, so I decided to ask in the lenovo forums as the people here might have a better idea.
    Here are my goals :
A reasonably portable speaker system that increases the sound output so I can hear it from a distance, in a big room. I have a few dumb questions :
    1) Is it possible to connect speakers that supplement the speakers of Lenovo?
    2) Is it possible to connect a 2.0 system but still use the built-in bass?
    3) Is a 2.1 system the minimum needed to maintain the same clarity?
    4) Is it a bad idea to consider USB speakers like Logitech Z-5?
Apparently, I have no idea about sound systems and this is my first exposure to these and I m thoroughly confused by a lot of terminology like bass, woofer, sub woofer, tweeter etc.. and dont really have the resources to cut thru the jargon. So guys, can anybody please help/advise?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Most likey the audio out connection will sense the input of headphones/external speakers and it will turn off the internal speaker.  If the opposite was correct, using headphones to not disturb people around you would be useless.
    2.  Read above.
    3. Most decent external speakers will outperform any internal speakers.  Internals speakers are cheap and bought from the lowest bidder.  Right now you are using ta .1 system.  2 meaning the number of speakers and 1 meaning the subwoofer.
    4.  I cant give you info about USB speakers, but it might be possible to use both the USB speakers and the internal speakers together.  USB speakers will also allow you to use 5.1, or even 7.1 speakers systems.  More speakers the better.
Just remember to get amplified speakers.  The more watts the speakers can handle, the louder they will be.  Logitech is one company that I know have good quality speakers.  I am sure there are more.   i hope this helps.  Goodluck.

  • Voices output from Creative Recon3D PCIe are low

    Hi all,
I had been using Creative Audigy 4 on windows XP for 4 years.
Recently, I bought a new PC running windows 7 ultimate and with Creative Recon3D PCIe installed.
After the software installation for Creative Recon3D PCIe was done, I tried to play a music track in Window media player.
I could hear the bass, but I found that the human voices (singer voices) were too low to be heard. I needed to turn up the volume to 53db before I could hear the voices.
The problem that the voice was low never happened on my sound blaster audigy 4, but it just happened on Creative Recon3D PCIe.
I have tried out all possible methods, including doing the setting in windows 7 for the two speakers, but with no success.
    Please give me some help.
    Thank you.
    Kitty

I have fixed the dropout and stuttering problem. It was not Creative fault but instead it was caused by the malicious site blocker package that was loaded by Malwarebytes in February. I loaded DPC Latency Checker and watched it's real time graph and the latency was through the roof, something was eating my computer alive and it was not my SB Recon3D PCie card that was doing it Turning off Malwarebytes fixed the problem. Before I dumped the MWBS I checked in at it support forum and they where getting flamed over the malicious site blocker and locking up XP machines so I turned it off on my Windows 8 machine and instantly fixed the problem now my new Creative Sound card sounds great like all of the other SB card I have had over the years. Anyone having this problem load DPC Latency Checker, it is freeware, and see if you have a latency issue that is causing your problem.

  • Low Volume Output on 17" MBP

I just got my 17" MacBookPro last week to replace my 17" Powerbook G4.
I have noticed that the sound coming out of the built-in speakers is significantly lower than on my Powerbook. For instance, when adjusting the volume, I lose the "spit" sound after only 5 bars from full volume (5 bars black, all other white).
When I have headphones plugged it, it is not like this. I can hear the "spit" sound all the way down to only 2 white bars.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

It's funny... I'm still trying to figure that out. There is one program that says "Quick Message" when you get one. At the same volume level as previous laptop, it is quieter. But with volume full up I believe things are a loud as they were before.
