MBP Mountain Lion Cannot read or recognized Micro SD Card and SDHD card
I recently did an update on my MBP and imac (both are mountain lion: OS X 10.8.2 ). Now both cannot read or recognize my Micro SD card (inserted using adapter**) or my SDHD card when inserted in SD slot. I could not see the card in Disk utility either. I started having the problem today after I did the update earlier this week, but last week it was working fine. Can someone please help me? I do not know what else to do. Your kindness is highly appreciated.Thank you.
** I tried 4 different micro SD adapter, nothing happened.

I cleaned and reauthorized my macbook air for resale. But I had upgraded to Yosemite before deciding to sell. (I bought a new machine). When I went to reboot it it asked for my authorization, and in order to bypass this I reset the internet connection. Now it won't recognize the wireless internet (I tried resetting the internet and even tried signing on as guest---?! was the symbol that produced). I did notice that when I upgraded my system, it recognized my computer as a macbook pro, not a macbook air. I also have a pro and wonder if the wrong operating system was installed in my macbook air and that's why it's giving me grief. I need to sell this computer and need to be able to reboot it to show. You should follow these guidelines when preparing a Mac for sale:

In your situation, try this: Boot the MBA with the OPTION + COMMAND + R keys down.
The result should be a display of a revolving globe.
By following the instructions, you will be connected to the Apple servers.
Erase the SSD and you will be able to install the original OSX, Lion.
When completed, that should allow you to sell the unit.
Note: you will need a solid Internet connection.

After upgrading to Mountain Lion I am not able to access "security and privacy" button under "system preferences". I like to activate "find my mac" but cannot access privacy setting after upgrade. Kindly advice.

Bookmarks are not syncing to ONE of my Macs, but showing up on other Mac (work), iPhone 4 and iPad 1. Macs are on Mountain Lion. Tried all of Apple's suggestions - and the one Mac is still not updating/syncing Bookmarks or Reading List. What's going on? Do I have to wait to OS update? It seems lots of peolple were having issues before ML, but I as fine. Since ML, I am having all kinds of issues!
Yeah, I literally have tried everything except deleting my iCloud account (I'm close, but that would require so many changes that it is way too painful to consider at this point).
I am still waiting to hear back from Apple Support. Hopefully something can be done, or they can do a reset on their end.

In Mountain Lion, Safari Reader recognises fewer webpages than in Lion. Do you experience the same?
In Mountain Lion, Safari Reader does not accept webpages than used to work with Reader in Lion, for example Wikipedia entries.
Do you experience the same? I find the Reader Function very useful for reading and saving webpages. Please expand its compatibility with more websites again, Apple.Me too. On a article web page, more often than not, the Safari reader button is greyed out. What is even more strange, i can make it appear after 2 or 3 refresh of the same page, or if I play with the safari windows width or height. It seems more stable when Safari is full screen. Very weird.

I have a 2010 MBP with Lion installed as the current OS. I have downloaded mountain lion, but when I go into the install and it promps you to sign in, the whole thing is blank with just the two text bars. Which won't let me type in them. Any help??
And the 2nd installation would not require internet connectivity? Except , of course during the set up and the configuration of iCloud and location based services, which I can skip at the time

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 with Mail 6.2 and the "Use Autodiscovery Service" checkbox can't be found in Preferences. Any ideas?
Cannot connect to Hover mail server unless I login to my webmail and then the messages magically load in Mail and then it goes offline again.Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off. -
I have an 11" Air with lots of remaining capacity running Mountain Lion. I also have a digital point-and-shoot camera. I have never downloaded images from the camera to this Air. However, if I just connect the camera to the Air's USB port, with the camera's available cable, and the Air is open, will a program like ImageCapture or iPhoto, auomatically come up, and I can begin to download wanted images? Or, will this sort of connection delete or fry everything on the Air? Do I need any other software on board? Will current Apple onboard programs allow me to download images from my camera and not destroy everything else?

I recently attempted to re-install Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro late 2012 model and the internet recovery is failing. I have absolutely no clue what to do here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
- Currently if I boot it up there is a flashing folder icon with a question mark in it. I am assuming this means there is no OS because I wiped the SSD and tried to reinstall Mountain Lion
- When I hold Command+R, it prompts me to Choose Network... the problem with this is the wifi constantly is disconnecting. The Retina 2012 does not have an ethernet port so i have considered buying the attachment then returning when done.

Best.There is nothing to do if you don't have a reliable Internet connection unless you have a copy of the Mountain Lion installer application from when you first installed it.
Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -

An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again. Can anyone help?Well, I'm trying to figure out how you're doing this from a recovery disk. The only way to reinstall Mountain Lion is through the Recovery HD in the computer. Hold Cmd/R as you are starting up the computer and keep holding it. Eventually you'll get a screen asking you to select the language. Hit continue to select english and you'll get a Mac OS X Utilities Menu with the second option down being reinstall OS X.

Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new ssd and upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this? A backup run did not install either photos or songs. Graham
Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

I have installed mountain lion on my early 2009 macbook (not unibody) and it is terrible, it's like owning a windows pc again (almost) What can I do? I paid for mountain lion, is there any way of giving it back and getting a refund? obvisoulsy after unintalling it. I couldn't see any reason why it would be bad for my particular macbook, and it downloaded without a problem.
In what way is it terrible? Mountain Lion is pretty stable. If you are having problems, most likely they are unique to your particular system and can be fixed. If you don't like some of the new features, that does not constitute reason for a refund.
If that does not suit you, you will have to discuss a refund with Apple, as they are the only ones who can say. Note that the App Store terms do say that all sales are final, so you are not guaranteed a refund, especially since whatever problems you had are not due to defective software.
