MBP Overheats. What now?

Hello Everyone.
My 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro overheats. I've had this problem for about a year now. What I use to control it is smcFanControl, but that causes the fans to run constantly (which becomes annoying due to the loud noise). I have actually taken my whole MBP down to the logic board to reapply the thermal grease, but that didn't help at all. It still runs too hot. By overheating, I mean that the computer will get up to about 160-170 degrees fahrenheit and just reboot. This even happens when I have it on a flat surface, partially elevated. Can anyone help me fix this very annoying problem of mine.
My warranty has expired a long time ago, so I am willing to do almost anything to fix my baby.

here is the solution, I had excellent experiences:

that´s an UNDERVOLTING utility (don´t worry, harmeless).
Basically the coreduos have different tempers, most of them can be driven by
much lower voltages than what is delivered by average.
And average is mostly the uppr limit, thus heat.
My MBP now runs a good ~10° cooler, the fans are quiet, and it
actually runs faster (coolbook reacts faster to frequency switching)
than before.

Have they tried connecting the iPods to their computers? I have mine set to sync with my MBP and when I connect it to the comps at work it tries to sync with them too, but I don't let it. So, there should be no problem with the iPod being detected by their comps. Report back if they cannot sync after connecting to their own comps.
Did you register the iPod with Apple?

Crashed meaning it will not start now? Try resetting the iPad and go from there.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Give more details as well for better instructions from the community.

I have an iMac G4 PowerPC with OS 10.5.? After deleting 17G of music files to make room on the 74G drive, The iPhoto and iWeb updates seemed to load okay, but the OS 10.5.8 update failed - message opened said the computer encountered an error and must shut down. Now I get the blue screen. Startup with 'V' pressed shows multiple lines saying: error-can't find IntelCPU Power Manager. What now?? I reset PRAM, I think.....?????

I am concerned that you might have applied a system updated intended for an Intel iMac, while you have a PPC (non-Intel) iMac. Your PPC OS should not be looking for an "IntelCPU Power Manager."
Have you tried booting from the 10.5 install DVD/CD and repairing the hard drive, plus repairing permissions?
If you done the repairs mentioned above, and your problem still persists, you can also try doing a safe boot. (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 ) Then, if none of these things worked, if I were in your shoes (it's hard to diagnose these things without being there in person) I would first check that there is adequate disk space, then I would boot from the 10.5 DVD/CD install disk and reinstall the operating system. There is an option to do an archive and install preserving user files/settings, that would be the option you want, as it will save your files but install a new OS. Make sure you have a good backup of your files first. If you do not have one, use "target mode" to copy all your files before embarking on an new OS install. Assuming that you do succeed with this install, then use Software Update to get the right updates for your iMac.

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file.

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

Mozilla was slow and i have reset it! Now, all my bookmarks are gone and when I try to recover it, it says not possible to process the file! WHAT NOW?

Today my Mozilla was slow and as the solution i was offered below is reset to its default settings and Mozilla would like to keep all the old data! Of course, that I did that and for a minute an unpleasant surprise!
No bookmarks, no history nor can add Bookmarks in the toolbar or the back button works (works with backspaceom) nor offers page while typing in adressbar.
I find a bunch of online tutorials recovery but nothing! Firefox is saved on the desktop folder "Firefox old data" but when I go importat says "file can not be prosecuted."
What now?
Bookmarksi are very important to me and I am now as one eye!
Now Mozilla is not remembering browsing history neither!
OS is W7 Pro 64
Comp is HP8710w

Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.

Ok, Below is what worked for me somewhat.
Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems. It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn. Looking still for this fix.

Fallout75, good catch on the eXo plugin. To remove it, in the Finder click "Go" on the menu bar and pull down to "Go to Folder" and then type ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
When that Finder window opens, you should see an "eXo" subdirectory. Just delete that "eXo" folder and iTunes should start without the error.
