MBP reboot after sleep when connected to thunderbolt screen
I work on a macbook pro retina connected to thunderbolt screen. I've set it up to go to sleep after 5 min and go to the lock the screen for security prupose.
But when the computer is connected to my screen, it very often reboots after going to sleep. Any idea why and how to avoid that?

Printer Reboots at 75% when connected to Cisco 2960

Xerox 5745 Printer Reboots at 75% when connected to Cisco 2960
Hi,
We are having a problem with our Xerox 5745 multifunction Printer...
This problem had been forwarded to Xerox, but they claim that a problem was caused by a power surge on our Cisco router.
We are having a total of 8 CiscoCatalyst 2960 Series in our IT Communication rooms.
We are also having 2 Xerox 7120, 4 Xerox 5745, 6 HP5200 and 300 computers - PC (HP Desktop) and Laptop (Samsung).
Network : all connected to CISCO Catalyst 2960 Series
Printer Setup:
IP Address: Manual IP Assignment (DHCP Disabled)
PC Setup: TCP/IP –RAW on Port 9100 – SNMP Status ENABLED
The two machines has same firmware software and configuration settings.
one machine just been installed with latest firmware
Problem:
On 3 Xerox 5745 display panel shows: "Network Controller booting"
at 75% the system restart and go on again and again.
This happens when cables are connected to CISCO Catalyst 2660.
Testing done:
•1. No problem, Connecting directly to laptop using (crossover cable), accesss to printing is normal.
•2. No Problem, Using other switch - dLink (not CISCO Catalyst 2960), the printing is normal.
•3. Not work, changing ip address; disabling all protocol; changing speed to 10MBps.
•4. Not work, Switching to other port on CISCO Catalyst 2960.
•5. Not work, Re-starting the Cisco Catalyst 2960 s.
•6. Not work, Changing cables.
HELP! Please ...Ferdinand,
at least you're not the only one who's experiencing this problem:
http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Hardware/Workcentre-5135-network-controller/td-p/5086
http://www.fixya.com/support/t556616-network_controller_unavailable (read the comments too!)
In case of your c2960 supports PoE, did you test to disable power inline (I know, PoE normally can't be the reason - but this is a really strange problem)?
What happens when you boot a printer without network connectivity (or with the dLink) to 100% and connect it after that to the c2960 switch? -
Were any reboot after sleep problems NOT fixed by the EFI firmware update?
The subject says it all. I wanted to get a read on whether this EFI update really did solve the reboot after sleep problem for all 2008 Mac Pros. If have an early '08 Pro that had the problem before the update and it didn't go away after the update (and it's not due to some other problem like kernel panics, etc.), then please post details in this thread. thanks!
We have 4 total systems (all had the issue, all slightly different configurations) and the reboot-on-wake issue has disappeared on all 4 of them.
Looks like a definitive fix to me. -

Starwin,
Try an SMC reset:

Follow the directions that apply to you battery you should not remove yourself, or battery you can remove.

MBP shuts down after sleep when 2% battery left
Sorry guys if u find it irritating to see the similar question again n again but i couldnt stop myself from asking this...
i have my mbp just 3 weeks old and i tried to callibrate the battery just few hrs ago...i continuously used my mbp until the battery level reached to 2% (the warning message showed when it was 6%)...just then i had to received a phone call. When i was busy talking, i noticed that the mbp has gone to sleep mode...but when i returned (2-3 mins later), i found it shut down...
well, i think it should have remained to sleep mode but it didnt...then after an hour i connected the power cord and switched on and noticed a progress bar which i saw for the first time....i have been charging it for 40-50 mins, now...
also the health of my battery keeps fluctuating between 95-100 %...istat shows this...is this normal???
So what i want to know is, Is this normal for mbp to shut down when the battery reach that low?? OR there is some problem in my MBP???
if there is should i be going to my mbp reseller shop for service or it is something i can handle myself????
thanks in advance..then how am i supposed to callibrate if it shuts down before completely draining the battery???
and what about the battery health % being fluctuating? my battery have completed only 9 cycles and the health shown at the moment is 97% -
Yesterday I noticed that my mbp 2011 dos not sleep when closing the screen cover. Today I Turner my laptop in. However the fan was working loudly and stayed loud. After Start I noticed an X on Battery symbol. Clicking on it, it showed 'no battery.' I found out that a potential solution for this problem was SMC reset. I also noticed that the leds on magsafe was not lightning. Despite this I tried to execute the smc reset as described on apple support site. Switching off, plugin the magsafe connector, pushed the buttons shift + alt+ ctrl + power. Then i pushed the power button, but my mbp is not turning on. I pushed several times on the power button but nothing works. The magsafe is also dark meaning the leds not lightning. Can anyone here help me on this ?
Problem solved by my own. But do not how :) magsafe again working and the laptop tooo

MBP Won't sleep when the screen/lid closes...
I have had my MBP for almost a year now and my AppleCare is about to expire...
Recently when I close the screen the computer will continue to run and operate as if it was never closed and will not sleep. I took it to the Apple store and they did an SMC reset which sorta helped for about 5 hours. Now it goes to sleep but will take almost a minute at times or won't sleep at all. I was told I would have to send my computer out for a couple weeks but I can't do without a computer. Please help me fix this or help me convince Apple to give me a new computer.Run /Utilities/Console and click 'All Messages' top left then close the lid and try and put it to sleep.
If no dice open the lid and look at the Console messages - in particular look for lines including "sleepimage" and see what it says ?
I suspect there's not enough space left on your hard drive, or it badly fragmented, and the RAM sleep image can't be created or stored properly ... -
Very loud fan sound after sleep when Ram is upgraded.
Recently I have upgrade the Ram memory from 1Gb to 5Gb with (2x2GB) FB-DIMM DDR2 667MHz from Ondamatica. Memory works perfectly, hardware tests were OK and i didn't notice any issue except one: after sleep, fans start to spin faster and faster (seems like a vacuum) to what I supose Is the fastest speed they support, during arround a minute or 45 seconds. That generates an intense noise but happens only when awake afer sleep, not when restarting.
I've done almost everything: reset pvram, reset SMC, change memory slots... And the issue only stops when I remove the new two Ram modules.
I've read about it in some forums, but no one solved it. ¿Any suggestion before I return the Ram to the store?. Could be a software problem?.It will or can happen but you can reduce it somewhat maybe using SmcFanControl (2.1.3.1 - wwww.macupdate.com ) to keep the fans above default by 200 rpm. And run Hardware Monitor to monitor temps as well. They may be running much warmer than they could/should/ought to.
1GB and your system was on starvation express! ouch. 4GB is more of a normal minimum even. 4 x 1GB is nice balanced setup. 2GB DIMMs might be warmer, run 70C perhaps. And they use about 15W each. -

how to fix ipod touch if it hungs/ does not turn on and stays only on the apple logo when you press/hold the keys home and sleep/wake. and when connected to the computer, it does not appear in the itunes that the ipod is connected or simply the computer does not recognize the device. i barely need you help guys! please...
I found this possible solution on another support thread, so I tried it.
turn off iPod
hold Sleep and Home buttons to start it.
When Apple appears, let go of Sleep button, but keep holding Home button.
When screen goes blank, let go of Home button.
Connect cable and check iTunes to see if it has conencted.
This did not work for me.
I then turned off the iPod, restarted the Mac, and restarted the iPod normally.
I connected them with the cable, and it works like normal. :-) -
MBP keeps waking up when connected to monitor
Greetings, my MacBook Pro keeps waking from sleep when I have it plugged in to my 24" Apple Display. Doesn't seem to wake from sleep when it's not. Anyone else having similar issues? Thoughts? I did turn off the option to allow network access to wake it to see if that would help, but alas, this morning she was awake. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.Yes, that does happen to me. The only thing that works for me is that after you plug it in to press command-option-eject and that will put your laptop to sleep. Hope that answers your question.

My 15" i5 MacBook Pro won't sleep when charging; a reset of the SMC solves the problem temporarily, but it always recurs. Interestingly, the sleep indicator light pulses as if the machine is sleeping, but I can clearly hear hard drive activity; the drive sounds like it keeps spinning up every 10 seconds or so. This is not an issue when trying to sleep when running on the battery only. Any advice?
I would just buy a wall charger for the touch and leave your MBP alone. If you really only wanted to charge it from the MBP, just make sure it doesn't sleep when plugged into the power adapter.

MBP won't sleep when shutting lid
For about a week now, my Macbook Pro won't go to sleep when I close it.--It stays running, and gets hot.
However, using the power button to put it to sleep or choosing sleep from the Apple menu works fine.
Any suggestions? This issue has been covered extensively in Macfixit.
I would make sure though that you aren't running any applications in the background or have any third party peripherals connected when you close the lid. Make sure also the Energy Saver System Preferences Options has Wake from Sleep for administrative access unchecked. It is found in your Apple menu -> System Preferences.
If you find that you aren't able to stop it from happening, make sure your firmware version gets up to date, and your hardware test tests fine:

Regardless of the Hardware Test results, call AppleCare:
