MBP Retina Battery Percentage Issue

I use istats pro for my MBP Retina and I noticed yesterday that the battery percentage was 99 percentage on there but the percentage the laptop was telling me was 100%. So I noticed it again this morning and I unplugged my charger and I noticed how the istats pro percentage was going down and laptop was staying at 100%. Eventually the laptop percentage went down but so did the istats pro percentage.
Like I have 2 battery percentages and not sure which one is correct, I'm assuming the laptop one. On my old 17 inch MBP the istats pro battery percentage and the laptop percentage were always the same but with my Retina they aren't.
Can anyone else me out please.

My late 2013 MBP Retina battery gets only about 4 hrs. What might be wrong?

    I found a solution!
Perhaps this is just temporary, but I have my display up and working again.
Although the symptoms are different were a bit different, the solution here worked:
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/120259/grey-screen-after-login-blue-scr een-of-death-from-cmdr
As I was able to connect to my HD via an external monitor, in the finder, I went to:
    1. Macintosh HD --> System --> Library --> Extensions
    2. From there I moved all of the files that started with ADM and ATI (19 in total for me) to a folder on my desktop. (You will need to enter your admin password for this)
    3. Next was a restart.
    4. Then my display started working again.
    5. After that, I transferred the files back into my Extensions folder.
    6. I then did another restart with my fingers crossed and breath held. It worked.
Also... During the last few days of trying to find a fix, I restored a Mavericks backup to my computer away from Yosemite.
I'm very sure this problem occurred when I put my MBP to sleep, disconnected the power in its sleep, while something was connected to a USB port and unplugging the USB device (for me an iPhone charger) while the MBP was closed.
I hope this helps the next person.

  • Late 2013 MBP w/Retina Battery Charging Issue since update to 10.10.2

I don't know if this is due to the update to OS X 10.10.2, or if it's just coincidence, but ever since updating, my battery has had issues charging.
When I plug into an outlet, the indicator in the menubar shows that it's plugged in, light on the power cord doesn't light up (not amber, not green, nothing) and the percentage estimate for power remaining doesn't increase at all, no matter how long I'm plugged in for.
I thought it maybe had to do with more things being plugged into the powerstrip, so I tried plugging into an directly into a wall outlet, but that was no use.
The only way to get the battery to start charging again is to restart AND zap the PRAM; clearly this isn't optimal...
Is any one experiencing this type of issue as well? Any hints or ideas as to how to fix it?
    Thank you!

  • Retina MacBook Pro Battery Percentage issue.

    Hi,
I got a 2.3Ghz Retina MacBook Pro and have noticed that the battery indicator tells me (currently) I have 75% charge remaining. However, when I look into iStat widget, it tells me it's 72%.
I ran into System Inormation under 'Power' tab and divided the total capacity by the one left and it does come out to 72% indicating that the iStat is indeed correct.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? I just find it quite weird. I had to exchange the laptop once for batch of bad pixels on the screen. I really don't want to go to the store again and deal with setting up a new device if it's just a software glitch and not a battery issue.
    Thanks,
    Paul
    ALSO,
I've checked the display for ghosting etc and no issues here. I've noticed that some of you have that problem. Just wanted to give an update on another rMBP.

    I'd start with http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html

  • MBP Retina Random Power Issue

My Retina MBP will randomly go black then say it needs to be charged even with 30-40% left in the battery. What is going on? I also get graphical glitches in the top portion of my screen when watching full screen video. I want to take it into the apple store but the 30-40% problem can't be replicated easy because it doesn't happen every time. The second issue can be replicated but I'm worried it's gonna cost a lot.

  • Iphone 4s jumping battery percentage issue - please help!

Hi, I was just wondering, does anyone else have this problem? i recently updated my iOS to 5.1.1 Now my phone's battery indicator jumps from 24% to Zero, it automatically shuts down right after 24% no warning, it will just give me the "Please Charge" graphic on the phone. I did a Restore on the phone, but still the problem persits. as soon as i charge it, it automatically powers up, back to 24%. software problem? or hardware problem? please help!

It seems like all IPhone 4(S) users have this problem eventually.
    Nonsense.
Does anyone have suggestions or ways to fix this issue? I
Do the basic troubleshooting steps.  If they don't work, there is a hardware problem.

definitely cannot afford a new phone right now and i will definitely not be looking into another IPhone when i get an upgrade.

  • My wife and I both purchased iPhone 5's 14 months ago after being loyal iPhone users since the first model. However, our battery percentage began jumping around on both of our phones and they would randomly shutdown at above 50%. Can anyone else relate?

My wife and I purchased iPhone 5's 14 months ago and both began having the exact same battery percentage issues where the phone would shutdown at above 50% and would only turn back on after getting plugged back in or waiting 5 minutes. We took it to the apple store and they said we need to pay $140 to have them replace our batteries in order to fix it. We have been loyal customers of Apple for years with a purchase of almost every iPhone model. However, I'm dissapointed we are not even able to get two years out of our batteries anymore without having to pay extra for it. I'm seriously considering other phones when we upgrade this year. Is anyone else having this problem and just as frustrated as me? Is this a systemic defective battery issue?

  • Retina MBP 13 Battery Issue? Please Advise

Just bought a new late 2013 macbook pro retina.  Everything is sweet, but the battery seems a little off.  First i charged it to 100 percent then it said 20:00 hours left, then it dropped to 13, then 11, then settled at 9, then said calculating for a little while.  I downloaded coconut, it shows correct battery discharge and everything is good.  It seems mavericks drops the battery percentage about 5 percent slower than the actual.  Ive left it on, with the screen on all day to just see if it would stablize. It seems to have but is anyone else having this issue?  Is there anything i can do? Ive already clean installed mavericks.
    thanks

    If so.....
Youve been abusing your battery without doubt, thats why it wont hold a propper charge

  • Problem with MBP Retina Display battery

So, I'm on my second MBP Retina Display. The first one had a dead pixel. However, other than the dead pixel I was pleased with the laptops condition.
I got it replaced. The new model seems to be having issues with burned in windows on the display. Also, the battery life seems to go down much quicker than
    the one I had originaly.
I took my laptop into the genius bar and was told the battery was completely fine but because I used migration assistant something was draining the battery life.
A month has gone by since I cleaned out my laptop and didn't use migration assistant. The battery had been lasting longer than before. But now it's draining rather rapidly again. I don't know why.
Also, I hadn't noticed the burn in's until now.
Can someone tell me if there is a way to fix these issues? Or if I should take my laptop in again?
    Thanks for the help!

    0. Forget coconutBattery.
    1. Doesn't seem like a lot.
    2. Recommended? No. Can it hurt? No, as long as you stick to 3.
    3. It is better to discharge, at least a few times per month, to about 40%.

  • What is the diff in term of fastness and performance between retina and last mbp version in percentage ?

What is the diff in term of fastness and performance between retina and last mbp version in PERCENTAGE ?
Ty to not give links i want an answer here and now by someone who knows what hes talking about.

But old mbp is not available with ssd you have to buy the option right ?
Anyway, outside reboot speed is there a speed difference between retina and old version in term of general processing  ?
I have a 2009 MBP that originally came with a SATA drive. Recently, I swapped drives; now, it has 512GB SSD. In other words, you can easily increase the speed of a standard MBP. There is going to be an increase in general processing with the Retina MBPs, but the significance depends on the application. For example, booting Photoshop used to take just over 30 seconds with a SATA drive; with an SSD, it's just under 10 seconds. But controlling for the SATA vs SSD, the differences are smaller and incremental.
Ok you speak about a diff with the retina in term of better graphics when zooming but will this advantage be relevant also on my external  giant monitors ?
I can't answer that, so I'll leave that to someone with more expertise in this area.

  • MBP Retina display issue

The best way of explaining my issue is with a picture. As you can see the image on the left has issues with orange, almost like a sunburst effect? The [icture on the right is normal and okay.
The left is on a brand new, newly opened MBP Retina 15" and the right is on an old 17" MBP I've had for years. I did nothing to the retina, haven't changed any settings, this is new out the box. I looked at calibration settings etc but it's all on default.
I really have no idea what's going on!! Does anyone have any ideas or should I take my newly delivered MBP back the the Applestore for a genius appointment?

I have the same problem with my MacBook Retina 13... my LG monitor loose signal. Please help!
