MBP-Retina / USB:  150mA mouse doesnt work

I am on Lion 10.7.4, USB3 drives dont seem to work. Applied 7/18 patch doesnt help.
Razer Abyssus USB mouse, 150mA
* Utilities --> Mouse doesn't find it
* System report shows Hi-Speed hubs only (Super Speed hub is missing from the list....) Mouse doesnt show up there
* Mouse lights up fine
* Mouse works fine on 2008 MBP
Just to check the USB port, plugged in an old Logitech  100mA USB mouse:
* Mouse works, System report finds it in Hi-Speed hub

Hi,
My mouse doesnt show up in teh device manager, its plug and play and seems to have no drivers.  I can see that the USB busses in device manager have it set to allow computer to turn off device to save power.
You have to switch off the feature, not allow it

  • MBP Retina- trackpad and mouse click unresponsive

Just got a brand new MBP retina, 15" 2.6Ghz Quad, 16GB Ram, 500 SSD.
Been working with it for two days absolutely no issues, working fantastically with both trackpad and a wireless magic mouse.
Used it this morning for several house, took it to work, turned it on and the mouse is working ie the cursor moved over the screen but i am totally unable to click anything! Forced it to restart (holding down power key as that was all that worked), hasn't cured the problem.
The trackpad physically clicks so doesnt appear to be stuck, i tried plugging in a wired USB mouse, again can control the cursor but unable to click.
Running 10.8.2, no new software was installed this morning when it worked fine, so cannot figure out what is wrong with it?
    Any suggestions?????

Finally got it fixed. Make sure you guys call Apple Support. The first tier tech support is not able to help you because they have not been trained for that You will have to speak to a senior advisor. There will be a lot of deleting of caches involved while in safe mode. After did all that my trackpad and keyboard is working again. Hope you'll get yours working too!

  • Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse doesnt work with mac os x 10.4.5?

I just bought a Logitech® Cordless Optical Mouse in japan to use with my powerbook running os x 10.4.5...the mouse doesnt seem to work with the native bluetooth system. so I plugged in the supplied reciever and could get the mouse to move the cursor, but only that. buttons dont work. I down loaded some kind of device manager from the logitech web site but just as the apple bluetooth manager it does not "discover" the mouse.
I noticed that the system requirements for the logitech device manager is osx 10.3 - 10.4.2 so im wondering if my system is to new for this product.
all this i found out after i bought the mouse, and it is a little irritating...it said it was mac compatible on the box...
should I be waiting for an update from logitech or apple concerning this problem.
or is there an easy fix/ anyone else have this problem?
    thanks

Hi, © !       — or do you prefer Ulfur?
What model?   "A Logitech® Cordless Optical Mouse" covers a lot of territory. For example, I have a CordlessOptical11 mouse that's several years old — and IrDA, not Bluetooth. This Logitech page contains a chart defining the name and "device model string" for each product, based on the M/N stamped into the bottom of your mouse. Better safe than sorry: Logitech's support — particularly for Mac folk — can be somewhat challenging. [1]
From there, you might try to confirm that you have the correct driver from Logitech's Support »» Downloads »» Mice page —
                         — but, Oops! — unfortunately, it may only link to Windows-compatible drivers.
Logitech has used their own patented RF technology for years — and some of their "Bluetooth" products "may not" actually provide Bluetooth functionality in Macs. (OK, that was tongue-in-cheek: I really mean "do not.") The mice usually work, though.
AFAIK, Logitech Control Center 1.6.2 is their latest driver for USB mice. (They have other mouse drivers, too.)
However, as this page explains, their V270 Bluetooth mouse supposedly doesn't require a driver separate from what's provided by Apple.
You may want to search this forum for differing views on this. Also, go to this Logitech user forums page and click to select the Macintosh forum. I won't deny you the (dis-?)pleasure of reading about others' experiences...
[1]  Sorry, I don't mean to be as discouraging as I've probably made things sound. Most Mac folks have actually had pretty good experience with Logitech USB and Bluetooth mice — but Logitech Support's attitude toward Mac users could be improved. Please check things to confirm what's what — then post back, and I — or someone else who's using an MX900 or MX1000 or V270 or whatever Logitech mouse — will try to help further.
Looking forward to hearing back from you,
    Sincerely,
    Dean
[2]  The links I've provided all work within Logitech's US website (I just tested). If appropriate, you may want to start fresh from the Logitech home page and find comparable international pages.

  • D800 tethering on MBP retina, LR 4.2 not working to me

D800 tethering doesn't work on my MBP retina, even with 4.2 version.. Am I the only one?

Lightroom 4.2 should have no problems recognising and importing Canon 5DMk3 files. Actually, I imported around 200 such files late last night. So, there is something else going on with your installation. Have you tried deleting the Lr preference file ? More info where it's located can be found at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358041?tstart=0

  • Magic mouse doesnt work with new macbook air

    Hey guys,
Just bought the magic mouse and it pairs just fine to my new 13" macbook air. But it only moves around and clicks and nothing else. Does not scroll or do any multitouch functions. I have checked all software is up to date and all settings are correct.
    Thanks in advance.

I was having the same issues as Cawlin and called up AppleCare. They suggested resetting the PRAM, and then a SMC reset. That didn't work, so they had me do a re-install of the OS and system updates. None of that worked, and then it suddenly occurred to me that I had installed USB Overdrive a little while back and turns out that it was the culprit. A quick uninstall and everything's back to normal. The mouse preference panel is now displaying the correct options for the magic mouse. So if you have any 3rd party software for a mouse or keyboard installed, I would suggest uninstalling or disabling it and see if that does the trick.

  • Mouse doesnt work when logging in

A couple of days ago I turned on my computer, and there was another profile, labeled "Guest Account" next to my name. My mouse will move around, but will not click on anything. In order to log in, I have to start typing my name, and then hit enter to select my profile. Once I am logged in, my mouse works just fine. I did not tell it to activate the "guess account", and it wont let me turn it off. I also dont know why my mouse randomly chooses not to click while Im on this screen. I am running OS Lion. Any thoughts?

    Any thoughts? :-/

     Welcome to the WD Community.
Those results are for a samsung drive.
We don't have many information about third party drives.
As far as I can see, that unit is experiencing a bad sectors issue.

  • I have a MBP with retina display and my trackpad doesnt work, why does this happen?

the problem was suppost to be fix by an update but it was not, my mouse doesnt work after i put my computer to sleep and turn it on again. Its like it doesnt wakes up with the computer

MBPr's are very recent machines.  The oldest ones are from this past summer.  Mine has a quad-core i7 2.6 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5, along with the Retina display.  This is more than enough system power to display HD movies, per the article you reference unhelpfully.

  • After Update to Lion I can't use USB-W mouse

After I Update to Mac OS X Lion (on my MacBook Pro) and I plug in my USB - wireless mouse. This mouse doesnt work, but on Mac Os X snow leopard works with no problems :-( (note: I dont use Mac Mouse, because Iam used to use my mouse...)
    thx for answer
    Jan Strnadek

I am having the same problem with my mouse, it is a Logitech not sure what kind. Really annoying because my macbook is a older one and the trackpad is not the multi touch one so i tend to use a usb mouse from time to time. And my mouse is a must when playing games, for example when playing Minecraft. You really need a mouse. I am convinced that this is one of many bugs that will be found in Lion. (loving it so far! exept for this bug) and I think/hope it will be fixed in the first coming software update!

  • Can (mighty) mouse buttons work w/Lion?

My wired USB Apple Mouse (aka Mighty Mouse) worked fine with 10.5.8 - Sys Pref / Mouse let me assign functions to the left, right, top/scroll, and side buttons.  I just upgraded to 10.6.8 and immediately to 10.7.5 Lion, and although the Sys Pref / Mouse window provides similar settings to 10.5.8, three of the five functions don't work.
The Left button is ok, and the Scroll ball (on top) scrolls ok.  But the Right button acts just like the Left button, and the Top ball/button push and the Side buttons push don't do anything at all.  Thankfully, there are no bizarre problems like the cursor leaping around, and I can hit Control - Left (Primary) button and get the Right (Secondary) button action.
I like my old Mighty Mouse and hope I don't have to get a newer / aftermarket one.  Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry for the duplicate post, I am on two different threads concerning this problem. I had contact with Apple Support through the complimentary support for purchasing Lion. They took note that the wired mighty mouse worked with my Macbook air running Lion 10.7.4, that my Wacom pen and tablet could be programmed to right click on my Macpro running 10.7.5 from the App store but seemed stuck on the requirement for a clean install even though I related clean installs from this discussion forum have not worked.
Out of curiousity I tried the USB Overdrive shareware:
    http://www.senlick.com/html/01.01.html
My wired USB mighty mouse now works with Lion as it did with Snow Leopard, again to me this points to the release of Lion on the app store.
I am going to write the Apple support case handler again and let her know, I have not heard back from them since November 1, hopefully they are working on the problem.
