MBP - screen is grey-shaded and it is not possible to click on any link. Any ideas why and how to solve this problem?

So, only on certain web pages, eg newspapers on-line, the screen appears grey-shaded. It is just possible to read the content. But I cannot click on any links. And sometimes the screen opens at the bottom of the page.

The top picture is what my Desktop 1 looks like. And the picture below is what my desktop looks like after clicking mission control. Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

I found a way to fix it. Simply restart the dock by using "killall Dock" in the terminal.

Go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings. the connecto to iTunes and restore as a New phone. Do not restore any backup. If the problem persists you have a hardware problem. Take it to Apple for exchange.
This assumes that the phone is not hacked or jailbroken. If it is you will have to go elsewhere on the internet for help.

When did this start? What was the last thing you changed before problem started?
Have you tried sending the attachment from a different account. Have a friend send you an attachment. Get a gmail account.
Send the email with attachments to two different accounts one to your ipad and the other to a gmail account in a web browser and not on an iPad. See if you can read the ones to the gmail account.
You did reboot your ipad?

If you have a data only plan for the iPad with your carrier, if no change after powering your iPad off and on you will need to contact your carrier.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.

If by the "screen asked to upload" you mean you see a message to upgrade Numbers, then probably what is happening is that you have two versions of Numbers on your Mac, the new version in the main Applications folder and the old one in a subfolder named 'Work '09. This is as intended.
Try opening your document with the new version of Numbers that is in the Applications folder, not the Numbers that is in the subfolder.
