MBP. Stuck in standby/sleep loop.

My Work MBP keeps getting stuck in a loop of being in standby/sleep (the white LED is pulsing).
If I press the power button it wakes up briefly, may show the login screen greyed out with progress bars across the bottom, but then goes back into standby/sleep.
If I press the power button long enough for the rapid LED flashing it seems to recover to the blue screen with Apple logo and progress wheel, but then returns to standby/sleep. Eventually doing this long button press repeatedly the MBP recovers.
This seems only to happen when I connect an older MagSafe charger at home.
Any suggestions ?

Is the Magsafe the correct model for your computer, there are 60W and 85W models.

Airport Extreme "N" does not reconnect after MBP wakes from standby/sleep

I have a closed network and do not have any problems with the new AirPort "N" base station except this one. When I open the lid on MBP the computer does not pick up the signal. I have my closed AirPort network in my list of Preferred Networks and yet I have to choose "Other..." from the drop down menu and type in the network name and password before to get it to connect. I do not have this problem on my PowerBook so I have only to assume that I have an incorrect setting on my MBP. Any suggestions? Thank You in advance.

I had this problem on one of my Airport N units. I deleted the base station from the preferred networks and also from the (I think) two locations from the keychain.
I then connected again and had the Airport added to the keychain again and since then I haven't had the problem.

I have a Toshiba Equium A300D that has suddenly decided to not power on - I have held down the power on/off button, held down control alt del, turned
it over to look for a reset button and found no button at all on the back - do not know if there is any other key command I can use to get it to boot up -
Can any one out there suggest what I can do?
Its like as if it is trapped in sleep mode.
The equium light is not on either or the touch pad stuff will not light up...

Try this:
Remove the battery, disconnect the AC adaptor
Then wait several minutes (~30min) and connect both parts again.
Then try to power up the machine.
Check it out and post the results.

N9 Stuck in a Reboot loop

Hey ppl
My N9 is stuck in a reboot loop
Havent done any kinda mod to the phone just installed some apps.
When the phone starts and boots up to home screen, the screen goes blank then re appears then again goes blank n re appears n then the phone restarts. In that short period when the home screen is available if i go in to settings then the phone becomes stable and works fine. But if if it goes in to sleep mode then again it restarts.
I have no clue whats wrong here. I guess i need to reflash the phone now.
If any one has done that can u plz guid me stpt by step how it can be done.
Also if you know any alternate fix.

Firstly, have you tried using Nokia Suite Beta from Nokia Beta Labs to try re-installing existing device software as device put into test mode to re-install so hopefully would not go to sleep?http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/nokia-suite-beta
Whislt it may not be appreciated if I spell out chapter and verse how to carry out this procedure upon the forum I have recovered my own N9 from "Boot loop", although in my case homescreen was never available!

Time Machine wireless setup failed, now stuck in an endless loop...

Oh dear!
I've had my TM up and running, backing up my main iMac and MBP without problems. I've had it configured to "join a wireless network".
This evening I decided to change this so that the TM would "create a wireless network", with the intention of retiring my existing modem/router.
Something went wrong somewhere along the way and I'm now faced with a Airport Utility message box reading "Airport Utility was unable to find any Apple wireless devices. Make sure ... then click rescan to try again".
I don't understand what this means. Which "wireless device" is being referred to here? The TM or the iMac itself? Having tried rescan a couple of times I thought I'd give up, close down the Airport Utility / Time Capsule setup dialog boxes and revert back to my original configuration.
However, this doesn't seem to be possible. When I reopen the TM part of system preferences and choose "Setup Time Capsule" it seems to jump straight to the "Airport Utility was unable to find any Apple wireless devices..." message. There are buttons for revert and update whilst the "discovering" swirlygig is playing, but these are greyed out. Likewise the manual setup button that appears thereafter. In fact, the only button that is clickable is Rescan, which takes me straight back to "Airport Utility was unable to find any Apple wireless devices...".
So I am stuck in an endless loop with no apparent way out.

Could you be a bit more specific, and drop a few pronouns? What I'm understanding is this:
1. You have a Time Capsule
2. Time Machine was functioning perfectly
3. You wanted to create a wireless network (??? You lost me here. Shouldn't Time Capsule create a network already?)
4. You cannot set it up through System Preferences. (You're using so many terms that I can't tell what you're trying to say in the "However" paragraph.
Try using Airport Utility in the Utilities folder, found in the Applications folder.

Facebook and add-on page does not open stuck in a infinet loop

I am able to use other ssl enabled sites like gmail from Firefox, but when I try to login to Facebook after the first page, It does not open. Have tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested for Facebook errors and https errors, no luck.
I get stuck in an infinite loop on the next page. This is the security page which asks to setup a machine name.. (https://www.facebook.com/loginnotify/setup_machine.php?next)
Please note there is no error displayed, the page just loops endlessly and does not display the Box which should ask me to set the device name for Facebook.
The same thing happens when I try the Add -ons page via the Tools menu. I am able to use Facebook in Chrome on the same system system.
Willing to work with the community to resolve this. Can also provide Wire shark dumps if required. Thank you for your time. Hope this gets resolved soon.

I was told by itunes my phone needed an update to 6.1.2. I did it, and now my phone is stuck in a reboot loop, and no wifi, phone, or bluetooth.

I connected my 3gs to my computer, and got a popup from itunes saying there was an update for my phone. Well i like to keep everything up to date, so I did the update. After it completed, I no longer have phone, Wifi, and bluetooth. It also is stuck in a reboot loop. I really do not know what I can do. I tried to restore it as a new phone, since i had all my data backed up.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

No problem; it's just that many people buy what they think are "factory unlocked" phones, but the "factory" is the back room of the shop where they bought it.
gs.apple.com should not be in the hosts file (the only reason it might be there is if some hacking tool had been used on the computer in the past; not just jailbreaking tools, but tools to downgrade the OS and perform other unsupported functions).
You cannot restore back to 6.1; you need to resolve the problem with the latest version. Even if you could revert it would not solve the problem. You need to figure out why iTunes can't communicate with the activation servers. If you have another computer, try restoring on that, or take the phone to an Apple store and let a "genius" deal with it. Or, if your antivirus is Kaspersky, delete it completely, as it's impossible to turn it off completely, and it has taken a dislike to things Apple.

Here is what happened: I added music to it using the latest version of iTunes, the colored bar at the bottom of the summary tab in iTunes showed my that I added it and I disconnected it to listen to the music. Nope. Turns out that even though I have two Macs running 10.9.4, the one in question doesn't get the SMTP settings changed by iCloud settings when the password is changed, so I had to "Edit" the account in Mail, plow down to the password settings for the Apple SMTP server, and change the password myself. Nothing in the System Preferences iCloud setting tab lets you change any settings on the local machine. Apple is sure they are controlling everything when you make changes in iCloud, but they are wrong. Identical versions of 10.9.4 are configured differently on two different Macs.

How do I cancel a sub vi stuck in an infinite loop?

I am attempting an implementation of the Constrained Nonlinear Optimization sub vi. It works perfectly 99.9% of the time but gets stuck the other .1% of the time. It is supposed to time out when it cannot find a solution, but it is failing to do so. Consequently my VI regularly crashes.
Apparently this is a known issue with this subvi. The NI whitepaper mentions that this is caused by a subvi while loop that can get stuck in an infinite loop. The work around is suggested to be to add a counter to the loop and exit it after a certain number of iterations.
I can find the infinite loop occuring in the subvi. But the sub vi opens as a clone and will not let me edit it. How do I work around that?
Failing that, is there a way from the main vi to cancel the optimization vi after a certain time so that the program can move on?
Suggestions would be appreciated.

Abort the program. Press ctrl+M when you have VI opened as clone. This will open it in edit mode.

Igxprd 32, device driver stuck in an infinite loop

Just attempted to reset a hard drive on our T61 to its factory settings (Windows XP) using the "Recovery CD Set" (rescue and recovery cd, supplemental product recover cd, and 6 product recovery cd's). During the final step, the computer reboots itself; however, Windows can't load. I keep getting an error on a small blue screen, referencing a problem with "igxprd32" and that the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. How can I fix this issue. (Product ID 6465CT0) Thank you!

Kindly try to boot the system into Safe mode and then uninstall the display driver.
After this you should able too boot the system into normal mode. Download the latest driver from lenovo website
