MBP vid out to tv help needed

I just got the mini display port to vga for my new led screen 15" macbook pro. I have it on my tv and it works.
How do I get this setup to work with the macbooc screen closed? When I connect my macbook pro to my tv I want to close the macbook screen, but when I do the laptop goes to sleep and shuts off the tv. What I want to do is use the tv sometimes instead of the screen on my macbook pro and have the mac switch to use only the tv not using the led screen in the macbook pro at all.
The macbook pro sees the tv fine and identifies it fine too.

Hi, Daniel. To have the TV operate as a monitor with the MBP's display closed, you must have an external keyboard and mouse and the MBP's AC adapter connected. See this article for instructions:

I've created a PHP web application in Dreamweaver, which uses a MySQL database, containing 14 tables.
On one page, I use a an SQL query to select data from 10 of the tables in the database.
However, when I try to preview the page in a browser, a PHP warning stating that the MySQL engine has run out of memory.
Is there a way of increasing the Memory Cache of the engine, or a way to optimize the performance?

Is this happening locally?
If it is, try rebooting your system and see if this fixes the problem. If not then you have a problem with your code. If it works locally but not on the server, then you know it's not something in your code causing the issue, so you can confidently go to your host support and have them sort it out.
With any such situation, testing locally first is a vital debugging step.

Momentary punch in/out foot switch help needed

Hi all,
I'm looking to find a usb keyboard or device that i can use with LOGIC 9 to plug in a momentary punch in/out foot switch.
I have an M-Audio Oxygen 61 - but I can't tell if it has the input or not?

I might approach it like this..... Open your template song. In the environment, create a new transformer and check the box next to the icon in the inspector so that it shows up as a possible arrange track. Double click the transformer to open it and program it to transform sus pedal (cc#64 I think...) to some other unused controller. Select the transformer track in the arrange page, open your key commands and set the transformed cc data to the record toggle (delete the original sus pedal setting from the controller list). Save the template song with this transformer and arrangement with the transformer track in it. Now when you build a new song from the template, you can select the transformer track when you want to use the pedal for record toggle, and select the appropriate instrument's track when you want the sus pedal.
There are probably other (better?) ways of doing this.. one of the best things about logic..... Perhaps some one else will offer up a simpler way. It might just be easier to open KC window and delete the sus/rec. toggle setting when you don't need it and just reprogram it when you do.....

Java NetBeans IDE 6.1 Desing out of control, help needed!!! Please...

I have a problem positionning the components in the desing view in NetBeans IDE.
I see some tutorial, its look realy easy but still, I don't get the result I want.
Did it exist a way to fix(lock) my component using the desing view?
When I try to rezise or move my component, the others start moving to and rezise making a complet non-sense and it's the free-for-all help!
Anyone know a link talking of desing in the netbeans more that the basic?(English or french or anyway any other language it's will stay more easy to understand than the move of the components in my interface)
How to select deselect blue anchor when I rezising to select what components will affect another one?
I know it's suppose to be more easy but maybe I do sometinhg wrong when I use the desing view I consider using another ide now ...

Looks bad. I would strongly advise backing up the stuff on the other two partitions as soon as possible in case the rest of the drive goes wrong.
Beyond that, Disk Utility has limited abilities to repair disks, DiskWarrior uses a different approach and might, emphasis might be more successful. It has certainly done the job for me in the past when Disk Utility could not.

You need to return it to the seller and get your money back. You cannot reset or use the device with another AppleID installed unless you know the password for that ID.

System: Windows 7
Adobe CS5
Printer: Epson Stylus Photo 1400
Paper: Inkjet matte presentation paper with slight luster
Installed latest patch for Adobe CS5

After reading solutions online and trying them for my settings for 2 days I am still unable to print what I am seeing on my screen in Adobe CS5. I calibrated my monitor, but am not sure once calibration is saved if I somehow use this setting in Photoshop’s color management.
The files I am printing are photographs of dogs with lots of detail I digitally painted with my Wacom tablet in Photoshop CS5 and then printed with Epson Stylus 1400 on inkjet paper 20lb with slight luster.
My Printed images lose a lot of the detail & come out way to dark with a reddish cast and loss of detail when I used these settings in the printing window:
Color Handling: Photoshop manages color, Color management -ICM, OFF no color adjustment.
When I change to these settings in printer window: Color Handling: Printer manages color. Color management- Color Controls, 1.8 Gamma and choose Epson Standard it prints lighter, but with reddish cast and very little detail and this is the best setting I have used so far.
Based on what I have read on line, I think the issue is mainly to do with what controls are set in the Photoshop Color Settings window and the Epson Printer preferences. I have screen images attached of these windows and would appreciate knowing what you recommend I enter for each choice.
Also I am confused as to what ICM color management system to use with this printer and CS5:
What is the best ICM to use with PS CS5 & the Epson 1400 printer? Should I use the same ICM for both?
Do I embed the ICM I choose into the new files I create?
Do I view all files in the CS5 workspace in this default ICM?
Do I set my monitor setting to the same ICM?
If new file opens in CS5 workspace and it has a different embedded profile than my workspace, do I convert it?
Do I set my printer, Monitor and PS CS5 color settings to the same ICM?
Is using the same ICM for all devices what is called a consistent workflow?
I appreciate any and all advice that can be sent my way on this complicated issue. Thank you in advance for your time and kind help.

Regds.What tosh! "exec" is perfectly ok to use to call a procedure.
The problem is with the OUT parameter. You need to declare a variable into which the OUT value can be put.

Vid-Out Directly to VCR Help

After playing with a few things I got the vid-in on my video card to work .. I can play a movie and watch it on my computer. Now for the part I cant figuare out. I have the vid-out connected to the vid-in on my vcr. I set up the who dual display clone thing. I want to try and record what I am doing on my desktop to a VCR Tape. I cant seem to get this to work. If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.

If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.

Help needed with sending XML data out of Dashboard design/ Xcelsius

I did this a year back and got it right, but now am not able to get it, probably Ive made a small mistake which I have been overlooking.
I selcted Enable XML send in my XML data connection and dfined the connection name as "Range_1" and Range name also as "Range_1"
Now I worte this servlet in Java:

Deployed it to Apache Tomcat 6.
Also selected the required usage options in Xcelsius for sending data every 10 seconds.
Now the servlet gets called, I see it in the console.
But the request.getParameter("Range_1") is returning null.
Tried many things, not able to figure it out. Any help?

Hi,
Xcelsius/Dashboards will convert the range of values that you want to send into XML.
It then will POST the XML when it calls the web page.
For example, if you had created three ranges to send to your web page:
A (a single cell)
B (a single cell)
C (a row of three cells)
The data in the POST input stream for the web page will look something like this:

<variable name="A">
    <row>
      <column>10</column>
    </row>
</variable>
<variable name="B">
    <row>
      <column>15</column>
    </row>
</variable>
<variable name="C">
    <row>
      <column>1</column>
      <column>2</column>
      <column>3</column>

I don't have an example for ASP, but I do for a JSP (attached).
