MBP won't boot. When starting there's weird video artifacts, but it never makes it past the apple logo.
My MBP is an early 2011. At boot the screen is full of a strange video artifacts and never usually makes it past the boot screen. I tried this in windows with the same result. I've reset SMC, PRAM, uninstalled and reinstalled my ram, etc with no luck. I had this problem before and luckily was able to make it to the recovery menu to reinstall OSX and they did the trick. But this time I can't even get that far..... Check out the pic below. It's kind of crappy but you can see the artifacts if you look at the apple logo closely.
That clearly indicates that your computer's GPU is damaged, and you are not the only one.
If you have got a 15-inch MacBook Pro, Apple has started recently a free replacement program for all MacBooks Pro affected by defective GPUs like yours. You only have to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get it fixed for free. However, if you have got a 13-inch MacBook Pro, there is no replacement program, so you will have to pay for the repair.

Here is what you should do turn the device on hold the home button and the power button until the device turn off keep holding and when the device reboots release the power button but hol the home button until it shows the iTunes logo then restore it

Hi! For a while now, my iPhone has been a pain in my butt. I dropped it whilst out for a meal in April and it cracked the screen and did damage to the bettery which means that the iPhone turns off randomly when not connected to a power source (An Apple Genius has told me this).
But when out today, my iPhone shut off and it wouldn't turn on past the Apple logo. After about 30 seconds, a little circle like thing pops up on the bottom of the logo and starts to 'swirl' and it does nothing when connected to a power source.
I've hard reset it, connected it to iTunes and nothing seems to work. I tried restoring it in July and that didn't do anything to the phone at all.
Any help at all will be hugely appriciated and if anyone else has had the same problem as what I have, how do I fix it?

But the next step is a DFU Mode Restore. If this does not work your iPhone is telling you it needs major most likely expensive repairs, or outright replacement.
DFU Mode Restore, with iTunes open connect iPhone to your computer, hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release Power button continue holding Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually about 20 seconds longer. If the screen is blank, black this is DFU Mode. Restore the iPhone Firmware. DFU Mode again is iPhone in Recovery Mode per iTunes but has a blank, black screen. If not successful keep trying to get DFU Mode, it can be a bit difficult even for experienced users to get, keep trying. -

Power Mac G5 wont boot past the Apple Logo

Last week, I formated this computer and reinstalled OS X 10.5. I updated everything, reinstalled all my applications and replaced my documents. Everything was good for a couple days. I have and HP 1350 all-in-one printer (which HP no long has mac support for that model, so I can only use the scanner as a photocopier, but that's not the issue, it prints fine and I have printed files since the formatting) The printer is connect via USB to my Power Mac and then shared on my home network, wirelessly, with 2 other MacBooks and a 27" iMac. My roommate was trying to print something from his MacBook. In the printer queue on the MacBook, the file would say it was printing, but nothing would actually printer. When I went to the printer settings on the Power Mac, the dialog box said the printer was "in use." I reset the printer, nothing happened. I restarted the Power Mac, properly, and now the computer wont boot past the Apple logo. The spinning gear appears and spins for a minute or 2 and then it will just reboot on its own. It will just keep doing this in a continuous loop.
I've tried to boot into safe mode (holding shift) but it still does the same thing.
I manage to get the CD drive open by booting into open Firmware. I restarted the computer and was able to boot from the Leopard disc. I ran disk utility, and repaired the drive and the permission but everything was ok.
I've unplugged any USB device connect but to no avail.
I really don't want to reinstall Leopard again. it took almost 8 hours to install all the applications (such as Logic, Komplete 5, etc) and I had not setup time machine. There are some document files that I would prefer not to loose, but could deal with the loss.
any suggestions?Ok, so I reinstalled Leopard, all my documents were in the "Previous Systems" folder, and the applications where present. I went to Software Updates to download all the need updates, which included 10.5.8, itunes, security fixes, etc. It notified my that I would have to restart. I click ok, everything was logged out and the updates started installing. As the computer restarted itself after the updates, i had the same issue again, where it would go to the Apple logo and then restart itself. The second time around, it just froze and the warning "You need to restart your computer" with the power logo in the background came up. So I manually restarted my computer and everything logged in correctly. I restarted it a couple time to see if I could duplicate the errors but everything keeps working properly. Now I'm kind of scare to restart my computer.
Any suggestions as to why this would be happening? Is this most likely a software issue or a hardware issue? This never happened before I formatted last week. The last time I formatted the computer prior to that was less than a year ago. -

Tried to restart, but it stays stuck on the apple logo (with the wheel turning) for ages. Restarted in recovery mode, ran disk utility, repaired permissions and verified disk. no problems found. Restarted again, still the same thing - won't go past the apple logo.
If reinstall is the only way to go, is there a way to access this hard drive to back up files (it is a recent computer, still hadn't made any backups...)

Ooops you've been there, done that. You can use Target Disk Mode if you have another Mac.

I'm presuming my old iPod id dead meat, but after 24 charging a get the Apple Logo followed by an image that looks like a file folder with an exclamation point. Is there anyway we can resurrect all trhe music on it & transfer into a new iPod?
You can try putting it into Disk Mode

If that works, you can see if the computer will recognize it when connected, either in iTunes or by the system.
NOTE: You can also try putting it into Disk Mode WHILE it is already connected to the computer.
If the iPod is recognized, you may be able to use one of the third-party methods or utilities to transfer song files from iPod to computer. You can do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer" to get some links (add "mac" to the search if your computer is a Mac).
Once the song files are on your computer, add them to that computer's iTunes library, then sync it to the new iPod. -

My iPad3 has suddenly stopped working, it won't charge up and the screen is blank I have tried to reboot the device by holding the top and home buttons but I don't even get the Apple logo. any advice?
Plug it into the charger/wall socket and let it charge for at least an hour. It just might start charging. If you have already tried charging it for a fair amount of time and it didn't work, try restoring the device with iTunes.

My iMac wouldn't boot up past the Apple logo, so I tried to boot up from the install disk. Now all I have is the icon for a folder with a ? Mark on it and it is flashing. Now I can't get my disk back out. Any suggestions?
You cna get the disk out by holding the left wired mouse button and/or the option key down on a wired (not wireless) keyboard while booting up the machine and then pressing the eject key when Startup Manager loads.
The flashing icon on the folder is the firmware can't find the bootable volume assigned to it. Could be a software or hardware problem, could be it forgot or can't find it.
If you booted with the option key held down, then if you see your OS X boot volume then select it and hold the Shift key down for Safe Mode, set System Preferences > Startup disk again.

Can someone please help with my issue listed - My ipod 4G wont go past the apple logo when I turn it on - it will stay on the apple logo for few min, then blanks out and back to the apple logo. Any tips are very much appreciated.Place the iPod Touch into DFU mode. This will be similar to what the factory would do to install the iOS onto new iOS devices.
Placing it into DFU mode will allow you to "format" and install the current iOS for that device.
To place your iOS device into DFU mode.
First connect you iOS device to you computer.
Open iTunes if not already open
Now turn off your iOS device using the power swipe.
Press the home and sleep button on your iOS device for 10 seconds.
Release the sleep button but carry on holding down the home button. For another 10 seconds.
Your iOS device should now be on DFU. Click on restore and iTunes will download the latest iOS for your device.
Hopefully that sorts it if not, you will have to go to a service centre or call Apple Care up and get them to collect it and repair it. (replace it) Or go into an Apple Store. -
