  • Report for slow moving material.

    Hi friends
I want to create report for slow & fast moving materials..
I have to add following fields in the report
Material, Unit of Measure, Current Stock, Value, Last consumption date, Last movement date...
Now I dont have all these fields toghether in any of the datasources..
What I need to do? Should I create new Datasource with all these fileds..
Has anyone done this kind of report before?
    Please suggest..
    Regards
    Swati

    Hello,
For slow moving materials , use can use InfoSet to design the same. The infoset will have 0Material on the left hand side and the DSO which holds the transcation data.
    or
u can install the standard content 'slow moving material' query and multiprovider 0ic_mc01.
You can get some help from there.
    or
try searching in forums with the messgae "slow moving items".you will get useful info.

  • Reviewing Slow moving material and sign off

In our industry there is a lot of engineering type spares that don't move for 5 years + so everytime MC46 report is run these material are always at the top. We use MC46 report to give to the engineers to review the materials but they are sick of going over the same list and ticking them off to keep. Does anyone else have this problem?
I am looking at a way to ID those materials so they don't show up in the MC46 report so the engineers only get a recent (2 year no movement) report that can be actioned. Is there a way to add a "Review date" to the plant level of a material master and include the engineers username so we know who reviewed the material. We can then exclude these materials from MC46 to minimise the list.
The other option I was looking at was creating an new movement type called "Material review" and actually consuming and returning the material so it resets MC46.
Any comment to my problem please?

Your movement type idea could work but going forward it creates a false picture.
You could create a series of special ABC indicators and use these to classify the super slow moving items and set a review year (OK if they're that slow moving ?)
    For example:
    D - review in 2012
    E - review in 2013
    F - review in 2014
Another way to do it, a lot more intensive depending on the number of materials but gives you exactly what you want would be to create a prime variant, with super slow moving materials excluded and a series of balancing variants for these materials per individual e.g.  description = Joe Bloggs - review May 2011.
I think the ABC indicator gives you a broad brush, low maintenance, effective method.

  • Sample code for slow moving material report?

    Hi all,
I have a requirement to display slow moving mateial report on a particular goods issue date and material wise.
    The basic requirements are
    1. Movement type '261'  and material, plant are select-options.
2.last goods movement date based on  parameter.
    3. Display the quantity available
but here i am getting a problem that i couldn't find the last goods movement for that particular material with specific storage location as one material document containing more than one item. So please help? Also what logic i have to use to display quantity available?
Please specify the sample code or logic for above requirement?
Any custom slow moving report codes also very helpful?
    Thanks,

    Hi Piyush
Slow moving---Items on which inventory Trnx. has done..such as Gr..Iv..goods Issue In a given time span
If u check MC46 it will ask last posting days
Non Moving:-Items on which inventory Trnx. has not done..such as Gr..Iv..goods Issue In a given time span.
If u check MC50 it will ask period to analyze i.e.Dead stock in a period of time...Means items on which no Trnx. have been passed for given period
I hope it will clear ur doubt little bit

  • Transaction MC46 slow-moving items

    Hi,
Is it possible to use this transaction to analyze per storage location ? or is there any alternative transaction for this requirement?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
MC46 can not be used to analyse at the Storage location level as valuation is at the plant level,
You can try to customize a report to analyse slow moving items at the Storage location level,
The tables which can be used for the report MARD/MSEG.... the success of the report depends on how well the functional specifications are defined.

  • MC46: Slow moving items

    Hi,
Some one can tell, in report MC46, what is the days shown as "days since consumption" ?.
While analyzing the report,  i have observed for the materials  if no consumption, system is showing  the number of days  from the date of creation of the material. But if there is conusmption, the logic of days shown is not clear. Is there any configuration or setting to change to correct number of days since last consumption?
    Kindly advice..
    Regards,
    Sattuj

    Hi There
In OMJJ you can define that which are all the movements have to hit the Consumption posting,,,
    "BLANK"     No consumption update
    G     Planned withdrawal (total consumption)
R     Planned, if ref. to reservation, otherwise unplanned
    U     Unplanned withdrawal (unplanned consumption)
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

  • MC46 (Slow Moving Items) - Special Stock

    Dear All,
I have one query with report MC46.
Do this report MC46, considers special stock ( in my case, it is Project Stock).
I have checked with one case, and found that the issue against WBS element (Movt Type 221) is not considered while executing the report MC46.
Is there any other report, which have the same functionality as MC46 & also considers special stock.
Would really appreciate, if someone can help me in this regard.
    Thanks.
    Mihir Popat

    Thanks Chakrapani .
In that case, how can we get details which also considers spical stock movements.

  • Transaction code MC46 for slow moving

    Dear Experts
I need to take the list of slow moving material with last transaction date.I was tried with MC46 transaction and it gave me the list.
But i'm not able to under stand the logic , for example one part number shows Days since consumption is 417 days. And i checked up the transaction for that material , last transaction was 01.04.2006.It was correct. But many regular part number show 22 days , but even those parts are transacted daily.
If possible any can explain me the logic how the days are arrived and some parts mentioned as "no consumption"
    Thanks in advance
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh
It appears that the recent transactions were internal like sloc to sloc or qi to unrestricted etc - transaction that may not have had any accounting impact.
Please check the last date when any of your stock movement had an accounting impact like GR, GI etc and see whether the data tallies
Please reward points if this helps you

  • Non-Moving /Slow Moving stocks

    Hi
Is any Standard Oracle Report available which give
us the Sub_inventory wise/Item wise stock which are
not moved (i.e. No transactions are happening since a
    given date).
I hv check the Inactive Item Report available in
Inventory. What is exactly this report ?
    Can anybody help us.
    Regards.
    Navdeep

    hi,
The reports gives you an idea abt which stock is not used from many days or which is not even used or had no movements for the same...When you see the report you can give the periods in between which the system evaluates the materials movements...if the material has no movement in the given period it is called dead stock...and if the material is consumed out of it for given period then it is called slow moving stock..
Pls check both the reports carefully...
Check MC46 - slow moving items
MC50  - Dead stock(You can say dead stock as non moving stock )
If there is no selection shown by the system then it means that all the material/stock is used properly on time and is consumed properly...
