MC50 - Dead Stock Report

Good day to all.
We use the MC50 report to identify obsolete stock. We use a one plant system with various storage locations dispersed throughout the geographical area of our company. The problem we have is that the MC50 report as input parameters requires the plant and cannot be run per storage location, thus identifying obsolete stock per such location.
We are considering a customization but have been advised that the development will require extensive development as result of the main program having several includes which contain SAP standard function modules.
We are attempting to establish if there are other SAP users who encountered the same scenario  and if so if there is not perhaps a simplified solution to extract the obsolete stock report per storage location as opposed to plant level.

Hi,
In this regard to my understanding, we may use BI reports to extract the Dead Stock per storage location.
The Plant having the SLoc data can be pooled in the BI Interface, wherein selection criteria will be there to select respective SLoc having the Dead Stocks. The tables can be customized according to the requirement of the user in BI reports.

We want to convert some LIS-reports, like "dead stock" and "Inventory turnover" to a BW report. I have activated InfoCube 0IC_C03.
Does anybody have experience to create a "Dead stock" report in BW(Dead stock is the part of your warehouse stock that has not been used for a certain period of time.)? Which info cube is used?

i.e. 6 months non moving materials list i want with stock values.
    kindly forward your suggestions.
    Giri

    Hi ,
The tcode which you have provided is useful.....but  i require the table and the field which required to generate the report....
My purpose is : basiscally i am generating the list off materials which is not consumed for more than six months..... )
do we have any table which stores data in the following format required by me ...
    Materialno,plant,stock,last_consumed_date...
For your information -we  can get this information from  Goods received table and  calculate it....   but this is a time consuming process....  that is why i am looking for a materialwise last consumption date.
looking forward to your suggestions further

  • Slow Moving/Dead Stock Report

    Hi Guys
BEsides T.COdes MC46 and MC50 what other reports that are available on SAP to give the same information and also their Current Stock Balances
    Vishnu

    Hi,
Why do you need other reports?
What is it that these reports cannot provide?
If we can know what you want from the report we can perhaps suggest options. But these two reports are designed to provide the information relating to slow / dead stock and so they should be very useful?

  • Mc50 dead stock

    Dear all
In transaction MC50 ,Key figure dead stock ,
for a particular matrial for a period of 13.12.2008 to 13.03.2009
it is giving GR,GI and stock level posting datewise say on 13.03.2009,stock is 25
In what angle system is giving analysis?
Please explain me the use of  MC50

    Dear GB,
    1. If you run MC50 for current date it will show you current stock as a dead stock. System considers all stock lying in system as dead as it is not used.
    2. If you run the report for previous period, system will dynamically calculates the stock by considering all receipts and issues.

  • Report on  Dead stock and Slow moving stock

    Hi ,
On of my cleints requirement is to see the list of Dead stock and slow moving stock
I tried T.COde Mc50 and MC46 but I could not understand the report fully
In case of T.code MC50(dead stock) the input criteria for the report is just Plant,Pur org and Sales Org.
How does system identify an item as dead stock.
Is there any setting to define an item as dead stock before running report MC50?
In case of slow moving stock ,i want to see all the material for which no posting
happened for 60 days.In this case what value I need to select in T.Code MC46
    Thx in advance
    Deva

    Hi,
While using MC46 report under Scope of ranking list, select the No. of days up to last consumption as 60 days.
And execute with the other selection parameters.

  • Dead stock MC50

    Hi  Expert
    Please Help Me ......
I think dead stock is non-moving for time of period but I don't understand MC50
    when I run MC50 in period of  time 02/01/2008 - 09/04/2008.
I find stock movements for material :
Posting Date     GR     GI     Stock level
    26.12.2007     2     1     1
    04.01.2008     2     1     2
    07.01.2008     3     1     4
    29.02.2008     0     2     2
    03.04.2008     10     0     12
    09.04.2008     0     0     12
I don't know why 's dead stock for time of period have transaction movement ????
    Thank.

    Hi,
Dead stock is the minimum stock maintained for the period you analyse.
If you keep change the period range the Dead Stock value may also keep change, because the min. stock qty. for each period range might have changes.
If a material was not used for 1 year ( ex: qty. 100), if you run the dead stock report for any of the last 12 months , system will show the same value...
    Hope it is clear.
    Thanks,
    Kumar Arcot

  • Dead stock

what is the logic of dead stock report that is MC50,
what is the logic of slow moving  stock report that is MC46,
and do we have any standard report for fast moving stock as well ?

    Hi Rahul
Materials that have been consumed little or not at all over a long period of time are referred to as slow-moving items
Dead stock is the part of your warehouse stock that has not been used for a certain period of time

  • Slow Moving Stock Report

    Hi All,
May i know the T-Code to list Slow Moving, Fast Moving materials & also for ageing of materials.
    Regards
    Rang

    Hi Rang,
MC50 looks at the stock level for a material over a period of time and
identifies the lowest level that the material reached. That lowest level is
the dead stock quantity as, in theory, that stock was not required. It
works on the principle that in an ideal world scenario you would maintain
zero stock sitting in the warehouse because you were able to plan such that
every day you receive / produce the exact amount that you require to meet
all customer requirements with no surplus. An example would be that if you
met all demand over a 3 month period and the stock level in that time never
dropped below 500 then that would be the dead stock level as throughout the
period you supposedly could have had 500 less stock and still met all
    requirements.
MC46 simply counts the number of days since the last issue against each
material - the more days the slower moving the stock.
Both the reports have value in that they can highlight problems which need
addressing - such as excessive stock or unpopular lines - but the results
they provide do need to be considered with a degree of caution...
Top-of-head examples could be that zero dead stock in MC50 is not an
achievable target if there is daily demand and the warehouse works on a FIFO
basis with a 2 day minimum to receive and then pick, and in MC46 materials
that are very seasonal will obviously show unfavourably at other times of
    the year.
    Hope its useful
    reward points if deserved
    Cheers!!!

  • Query related to Dead Stock

    Hi,
What is Dead Stock and How to determine the material, that is it Dead Stock or not???
If we run the Tcode MC50, it shows the Dead Stock data like: -
    Material...................Short text...................Dead stock value...................% ..................***.%
    10000001................TMT BAR 10MM..................0.00 INR.................0.00 %.................0.00 %
All the line items are showing like this with diff. materials...What we understand this???
Please guide and tell me the whole process...

    Hi,
