Mcafee uninstall not working

i have tried unistalling mcafee internet security from the computer..   but something happened during the installation , i think the screen froze (happens alot !!)  and now i cannot properly uninstall teh program.
when i go to programs and features to uninstall, i am able to select mcafee to uninstall,  the normal pop for unistall comes up , adn says 'remove mcafee software.  select what you want to remove"  but there is nothing to select,  and the remove button is faded.
the mcafee warnign keeps popping up saying i am not protected.  however i do have kaspersky now so i am protected.
please help me get rid of mcafee

Hi :
Try using McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool - follow the document promptly.
Restart system after the uninstallation completes.

  • McAfee Scan not working

Tried to scan Mac this morning: got message "unknown errors received from scanners".
So tried McAfee's Virtual Technician (sort of automatic help service) which reported '1.0.0.2 - platform not supported' against Internet Security, Application Protection, Desktop Firewall and Antimalware.
So then tried to get McAfee's email support, but it doesn't seem to be available to us here (in UK).
Then tried their 'Live Chat' - got a Live Chat reference number, but no prompt / invitation to actually initiate 'discussion'.
Is anyone else having McAfee problems and does anyone have any ideas on what else I can try?

    Thank you so much :-)
I did hesitate for a bit (I'm a Mac newbie!), but finally bit the bullet & uninstalled.
Then my problems really started !!!  Couldn't re-install (Download from McAfee not working).
So have spent 3 days trying to get some sense out of McAfee Helpdesk (a misnomer if ever I heard one ........).
Problem seemed to be that the only link (to them) available to me took me to their Windows dept. They appear to work in complete isolation from their Mac dept: just kept replying that I'd have to contact their Mac people.
Had just about reached tantrum stage when, this evening, I tried downloading McAfee yet again & - whey-hey !! - this time it worked.
So its scan is chuntering away in the background, even as I type. I'm none the wiser as to why it went wrong in the first place, nor why it was so difficult to reinstall. But all's well that ends well :-)
    Many thanks

  • Elements 10 not working and uninstall not working either help please?

Elements 10 does not work and I have tried to uninstall it with the intention of re-installing.   When I press un-install it tells me it is still uninstalling or changing the program but this has been happening for three hours?  Windows installer is saying 'cancelling' the same for two hours.  I am stuck please help.  Many thanks in advance from a well qualified luddite!

Update - I am manually un-installing because as I can't get photoshop to work - (it says it is scanning for updated and never stops -)  I assume it is corrupt.  I have selected it and then uninstalled - had no further options offered to me and now it is saying ' please wait until the current program is finished unistalling or being changed'  I am totally confused.  Now I am getting the message 'Install server not responding'  Please help.

  • McAfee is not working with OS x 10.10.1 - do I need it

    OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1
I have an iMac (27 inch, Mid 2011)
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Start up Disk Macintosh HD
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB
This is my 1st posting for help, so please excuse me if I am not following the correct procedures.  Yesterday I installed the latest update for Yosemite and at the end of the process I was advised that the McAfee security software would not work with the update 10.10.1.  My question is do I need McAfee, or does my iMac have it's own Firewall and other security systems already in place.  I would welcome any recommendations on alternative security packages, that members use, if they are working with this latest update.

Hi All... Long time Apple user and have enjoyed many many years without a thought about malware, virus' and trojans. However as this dialog progresses I would like to share an unfortunate reality... Life was fine and then one day my MacBook Pro started to labor when opening apps/managing multiple documents/etc.. the spinning wheel - and when I pulled up the option to Force Quit - each time it would show me that one or another of my apps was 'unresponsive'. (when I did not force quit the app - it did finally become responsive after a number of minutes) Next... noticed two things; at the same time that a mac app was unresponsive - the fan in my macbook was kicked into overdrive... and the casing above the keyboards had become super hot. Researched the issue that pointed me to the possibility of malware... Chose then what was best option McAfee to scan my computer.... and yes you guessed it - two cases of malware and a trojan. McAfee put them in 'quarantine' and I restarted my laptop... Like magic - no unresponsive apps - the fans were calm and the case was no longer excessively hot. This was great for about a month and then it happened again... ran the scan (with McAfee and Sophos) and found a new case of malware that was found in my email database and dated as received that day - once the virus was quarantined - my macbook was happy again. Now I run realtime virus scanner - seems like about 3-5 weeks and something will show up and - 99.9% time imbedded within an email - but computer is running as it should fast, cool and quiet.

  • Deskjet F4180 - uninstall not working. . .

Hello - I'm hopeful that someone can help me.  I downloaded and installed (more like updated) my printer.  It was working fine before (with the exception of showing the status of ink levels).  However, since the update I started getting an *.msi error, TrayApp, DJ_AIO messages. (since last Wednesday)  It wasn't until troubleshooting, that I realized it was my printer.  I had to uninstall and reinstall my anti-virus and other tools. . .some were through special uninstall on their sites.  I've tried several ways to uninstall. . .the disk, Control Panel (Programs and Printers), CCleaner. . .nothing has worked.   I've even tried to use the disk to recover these missing items .
How can I uninstall?  Once that is done, then I'm hopeful I can reinstall and the printer will work successfully!
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

On the installation CD navigate to the util directory, then the ccc directory under this directory.  Within the util\ccc directory will be a series of files, uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L4.bat.  Run the uninstall_L1 file, then uninstall_L2 and uninstall_L3.  You should not run uninstall_L4, it may remove items that are needed.

  • Patch uninstall not working properly developed using InstallShield

Hi i have created a patch for my product using installshield , when apply the patch product files gets updated successfully when trying to uninstall the patch it unisnttall or removes successfully newly added dlls to the patch from the target m/c but somehow
some dlls or exe which got modified due to the patch are not reverting back upon uinstallation of the patch.
As because when I see date, time and version of some of the dlls are the date on which patch was applied after uinstallation of the patch. that means dlls are not getting reverted back.
Can someone help me to understand why some of my dlls are not getting reverted back upon patch uninstallation . I have followed the patch Uninstall rules properly.

This is not related to SCCM, SCCM does what you told it to do nothing more or less.
You should ask in a forum for installshield

  • ClamXav uninstall not working - clamd engine still active

    Hi Folks,
I had before ClamXav as antivirus, removed it uncorrectly by only deleting the program and have now the issue that the engine is still active and takes a lot of CPU / Memory.
I downloaded the engine remover script from ClamXav, put it on my harddrive, ran it from there, rebooted but the clamd is still active and using most of my memory. I don´t know any more what to do ...
    Any idea?
    Thanks

First thing to do is quit ClamXav Sentry (if you use it) and make sure it's not set to launch at log in. You will then need to find the ClamXav disk image which you downloaded when you installed ClamXav (or download the current one again) as you will find an uninstaller application on that disk.
The uninstaller will remove the engine and any schedules you've got set up. All that's left is to drag ClamXav.app to the trash.

  • MCPR.exe is not working, how can I delete McAfee Antivirus?

Hello - I am lost. I need to delete the McAfee Software completely. I need to install a different antivirus for business reasons. I removed the software in the programm list. But the new Antivirus was not working probably. So I deinstalled the new antivirus and I downloaded MCPR.exe but if I try to install as Admin nothing happens. What can I do? Many thanks for help!!

Download AppRemover then run it, it will uninstall any security app on your PC completely and get rid of all its registry entries to avoid future conflicts when installing a new Antivirus
Additionally, if you had already uninstalled the previous security solution, it has an option to simply clean out any left overs
This is a must have app I say! It saves you from formatting your computer just to install a new antivirus without any conflicts

  • I've just updated my iPhone to the new iPhone OS and now it won't work and iTunes won't recognise that it's there.  I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled twice and it's not working.  Please help.

I've just updated my iPhone to the new iPhone OS and now it won't work and iTunes won't recognise that it's there.  I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled twice and it's not working.  Please help.

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

  • Windows error: iTunes crashes (uninstall and reinstall does not work)

    Hello all.
I (and another user) have had a problem with iTunes crashing when trying to open it. Windows just generates the typical vague error message that explains nothing as to what the problem is. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work, and using the "Repair" option did not work either.
This was the solution. Hope it works for you. Cheers.
    C ;o)
Here are the steps, some might be redundant, but still follow them to try and get iTunes to work.
    1. *Extremely important* Close the QuickTime launcher in the tray on the right side of your Windows TaskBar (right-click on the blue QuickTime "Q" logo next to where you have the time and date and select "exit".) The QuickTime logo should disappear from the tray.
    2. Go to where your iTunes library folder is, copy it and put it elsewhere on yoour hard-drive. This is where you asked your iTunes to point to and keeps the full repository of the files sync'ed to your iPod. If you don't do this, you will have to re-create the full library of all the music and files you have put into iTunes.
    3. Unistall iTunes and reboot your PC.
    4. Go to c:\Program Files\Quicktime and delete this whole folder.
    5. Go to c:\Windows\System 32 and: delete the Quicktime FOLDER there; then (ii) scroll down and delete all other QuickTime related files (there should be 5-10 of them, I didn't count, some will have a name like QuickTMvr whatever).
    6. Empty Recycle Bin.
    7. Reboot your PC.
    8. Go back to Apple Website and download: iTunes, and (ii) QuickTime installation only (without iTunes).
    9. Install QuickTime FIRST (use newly downloaded version)! Check it works OK by opening it.
    10. Close QuickTime lanucher from tray, as explained above in step 1.
    11. Install iTunes (use the newly downloaded version).
    12. Open iTunes. If it opens fine (clap your hands and say "hurray", and actually I said out loud to my PC, "Please work" and it did - I don't know if this step helped at all. ;o) ), then close iTunes FIRST BEFORE DOING THE NEXT STEP. Go to where the new iTunes (and library) folder is, rename the new iTunes folder (as you might notice when/if you open iTunes, that it is all blank), and copy the old iTunes folder (from step 2) to the same location. Re-open iTunes. It should be the way it opened the last time.

    Btw.
Don't forget that, from my experience, most iTunes errors comes from malfunctioning instances of QuickTime.
