MCOD install stuck

This is what i was doing...
1) Installed Central instance(Unicode) for ecc 6.0,
2) Started installing Unicode version for the database instance.
3) Failed due to disk space at the database load final step.
3) Fixed failure and restarted sapinst.
4) Accidentally hit the reset button...
5) Restarted install for Non-Unicode accidentally ecc..which obviously failed and nothing seems to have been done as the install log is full of errors about catalog not found.
Question then is....Can i restart the install for the Unicode and will it auto detect the completed steps if i specify the same parameters as in Step 1 ?
Or would i have to drop the schema for the previous install before i restart.......
Or are there any other options as to what can be done to remedy this..?
This is a MCOD install with BW and XI already installed and running fine as instance C12. The ECC install was with instance of PRD !!

Have this exact issue.
Let it run overnight for 8.5 hrs, on the 'Installing OS X' screen with 18-minutes remaining, at 0%, and after that 8.5 hrs, it was still at 18 minutes with about 1% completed. Logging showed that it had checked integrity of the 3TB Apple Fusion drive on the iMac 2012, but found no problems. This was my 4th attempt.
I've created a bootable Yosemite USB drive, and it booted to a O with a slash through it, in middle of screen. Tried three other 8GB USB 2.0 and 3.0 flash drives, with all of the same results.
So now, after having Time Machine AND manually backed-up Documents, Desktop, Pictures, Movies, Music -- I've performed a OPT-CMD-R (internet recovery), formatted the Fusion drive, recovered OS to Mountain Lion (arghhh!), and decided to not restore data from my TM backup. Didn't want to restore whatever it was having issues with. On boot-up of Mountain Lion, entered basics to get to desktop, went straight to App Store, re-downloaded Yosemite, launched from Applications, rebooted, and it went to same 18-minutes progress window. LOL. Just about had a fit. But, within a few minutes, it started to count down and progress up! (btw, Recovery boot with Disk Utilities, Repair Disk on Macintosh HD, never found problems with the Fusion drive.) However, for some odd reason, Format/Clean-install from Internet Recovery to Mt. Lion and then 10.10 was the only way I could get this new OS on this iMac 2012 27-inch i7 32GB RAM, 680MX. Yosemite install on my 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2011 was a breeze - why on Earth did Yosemite barf on my 2012 - the Fusion drive? Will be a fracking pain to manually restore my music, pictures, movies, apps, docs, etc etc.

  • NW2004s MCOD install not detecting existing Oracle instance

We are attempting to perform a distributed database installation for
NW2004s AS-JAVA. We wish to use an existing SAP/Oracle database
called "JB1" running on Oracle/HP-UX using MCOD. The JB1 database instance
already contains a functioning NW2004s SAP AS-JAVA system.
We execute sapinst on the UNIX database host and
choose a Distributed Oracle DB installation. We enter the SAP SID
as "PD2" and the database SID as "JB1". However, it appears that
sapinst is not recognizing that the JB1 instance is already in
    existence.
In our first attempt, sapinst removed all the redo logs and re-created
them, then attempted to perform a "CREATE DATABASE" command. This did
not seem to be the behavior we wanted for simply adding another schema
for the PD2 system. We restored the JB1 database from backup and are
now trying to run sapinst again.
I am seeing entries in the sapinst_dev.log that indicate:
    "Oracle database exist: false"
Also, it appears from the ora_sql_results.log file that sapinst is not
correctly connecting to JB1 as sqlplus returns "connected to an idle
instance".  It appears the subsequent SQL script which selects from V$INSTANCE comes back with no entries which then causes sapinst to think there is no existing JB1 instance.
The JB1 database is running when we start sapinst and we are able to
connect as sysdba from the orajb1 account.
My assumption is that sapinst should not be trying to re-create the JB1
database and that it is simply unable to detect that it already exists
and should be doing an MCOD install. Can anyone assist in determining why
    sapinst cannot connect with sqlplus?
    Regards,
    Mike Tarr

I have determined that if the JB1 database is shut down when I start
sapinst, then sapinst will attempt to start it and detects the instance
successfully. Should the existing database not be running when SAPINST is started for an MCOD install? It seems that there is still a problem with SAPINST connecting to the running JB1 instance.

I installed Firefox 6.0.2 on a Windows Server 2003 box. This box is a terminal server with 9 users that are going to use Firefox. The other users are going to use IE. When asked to reboot now or later, I chose Later. After sometime I rebooted, the message "you need to reboot in order to complete the install" reappears. Over and over again. Can not uninstall (same message) Can not open Firefox (same message) Many reboots using various users, the same results.

  • Install stuck: SBS 2011 Essentials on a Virtual Box

I’m trying to do a test install of SBS 2011 Essentials on a Virtual Box virtual machine running on a Win7 64-bit machine. I put the install partition on an external
    drive.
The install stops on a window that is titled Installing Windows. The screens says: “There was a problem during the installation. To restart the installation
click Restart. You can also view the installation error logs.”
When I open those installation error logs, I see no error. (It does have Info and Warning lines.)
I’m stuck there. If I could paste in the the contents of the error logs I would, but I can’t copy from the VM until there is an installed OS.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hello Rob,
There may still be a problem with two things.'
    1) Installing it on your external hard drive.  If it is a 'usb' drive, then it seems at times the software\drivers still causes some type of conflict depending on what type of system you have.
    2) Your network interface card is configured set.
Going off the assumption that you have the latest virtual box software, your problem may be point number '1'
Solution that works for some: Installed the virtual machine locally. (Remember, you can still set the disk dynamically to 160 whether you have the space locally or not)  Then transfered it to an external drive after everything  was installed and
    working.
Caveat: Shame to say, you may  not have local storage  large enough to hold the vm. This is why you probably bought the external drive in the first place.  Hope this helps. Just find a machine that will allow you to create the vm locally first
    if you can.

  • Windows 7 install stuck on "completing installation"

    Hey guys,
Iv been trying to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro 13'' mid summer - 2010 from bootcamp. Im running 10.7.3. Everytime I try to install windows It gets stuck on "Completing installation" Iv left it running for hours (4-5 hours) and nothing is changing. I have an image if it helps..

Oddly enough, I have had windows 7 installed on this Mac before but then I deleted and now I am looking to get it back (I am using the same disc I had used the previous time). Iv looked  around for days for any solutions that have been found but nothing has worked so far. If anyone can help me it be great!

My 2006 is also liist on the uncompatible list.  So there is an extra step to reburn the DVD.
Round about way of saying you bought System Builder? rather than retail which costs more but has both.
You might also have been better with pre-SP1 if you could find it. That does get mentioned from some users.
For free there are Windows 8 CP edition (and release candidate in June) to try, those you do burn from ISO to DVD. Try that.
ALL the support docs, faq etc and manual: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp
For 2010 iMac there is a driver for ATI. By not telling us what model mac, or whether Lion or not - so you downloaod Apple drivers from BCA

  • EA6500 won't work with Windows 8.1--Firmware install stuck in restart...

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 about a week ago, and everything was fine.  Then my cleaning lady unplugged my modem, which normally results in the internet no longer working, and necessitates me resetting the router, then going to 192.168.1.1 to set up passwords, etc.
I decided to go the old route, but when I tried to pull up 192.168.1.1, I was told that my browser (Internet Explorer) wasn't supported.  So I used my laptop, and was able to log into it, then went to check for a firmware update; the software told me there wasn't a new one, but I was able to find one on the website, so I downloaded it and ran a manual firmware update.  Everything seemed fine, as the install bar slowly filled up, at which point I was told that I needed to wait for my router to restart. Unfortunately, 45 minutes later, it had not restarted, so the screen was frozen.  I unplugged the router, then tried to go online, but was told that I wasn't connected to a router at all. I reset the router by pushing the button with a paperclip.  Everything happened the same way... the firmware was reset to stock, but showed there was no new firmware, so I manually installed it, then it got stuck and never restarted.
When I say it's stuck in restart, I mean that the light keeps flashing... normally, when restarted, it flashes for 10 to 20 seconds, then becomes solid.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?  As of now, my desktop PC has no internet connection.
    Thanks!

    Hi earwicker7,
Did you turn off the Windows Firewall when you did the manual firmware upgrade?
You can try doing a hard reset again and that is done by pressing the reset button for 10-20 seconds  while the router is powered on. Unplug the device after that.  Once plugged in, do the manual upgrade again with the firewall turned off. Hope this helps.

  • Install stuck

I downloaded Yosemite from the app store. Started the install and then it gets stuck. I make it through picking my HDD and hit continue and agree. NowI see the Install OS X white box with a blue progress bar that goes away when i move my mouse. nothing but a dark grey screen. I opened the log and this is the last entry in the error portion: "keyboard layouts: keyboard layout identifier -16900 has been replaced with -28674" and when I goto the apple, and click on services it says Building... I left it from 8:30 PM till 6AM this morning with no change, in fact I had to wake it up, it wasn't doing anything at all.
so do i leave this running? is there something I should have done prior to upgrading? is there something wrong with my iMac or what?

This is caused by bash and not by sed. Bash 3.1 shipped FC5 is buggy.
So download bash-3.0 from FC4 and install it using "rpm -ivh ... --force" command.
