MCU Doesn't Communicate with LE 7.1.1

Hello --
I have my Mackie Control Universal connected to my Mac via UNO. Initially the Mackie immediately recognized LE. Then all of a sudden for no apparent reason, the Mackie stopped recognizing LE .
Since then LE has worked with the Mackie maybe 5% of the time. At first the Mackie recognized the tracks, but the transport didn't work. Now it doesn't even do that.
I sporadically get a window that tells me "port 1" no longer exists.(?) According to the LE set up, the out port was initially "any"; the input was "all." I've fiddled with these settings, deleted and manually added "Mackie Logic Control", restarted the computer and the Mackie, etc. all numerous times in various combinations.
My Mac's "Audio Midi Setup" recognizes the Uno (at least, I think it does). My Uno is admittedly ancient, so I downloaded driver 3.2.2 from the M-Audio site; at the time I ran OSX 10.4.8. I got the bright idea of reinstalling the UNO driver; I recently upgraded to 10.4.9. When I tried to open the 3.2.2 DMG, a window appeared telling me that the DMG was corrupt.

Try these steps:
1. Turn off your Mackie
2. Open Logic Preferences/Control Surface setup and remove the MCU
3. Go into you preferences folder/Logic and delete the file com.apple.logic.express.cs
4. After that turn on again the MCU and.. Good Luck!

AIR doesn't communicate with my server - PHP issue

Hello,
So I have made an AIR application where the file communicates with a PHP file in order to display data.
I have WAMP installed on my computer, and the application works when I test locally using WAMP but if I upload the php on an online server(I tried on two of my servers) and run the AIR application it seems that it doesn't communicate with the server so no data are displayed.

This is how I call for the php on AS3, like shown above.
Any suggestions?
The php file gives no errors when I browse it online so, I suppose there something else going on?

There are no errors, on either the php files stored online neither the flash swf.
The only file scalled from an online server are the PHP.
I suppose I don't need to pack these PHP when publishing the air file, since they need to be called from an online server?
Very tricky since there are no errors, I would appreciate any help since this is an urgent project.

So I just removed the http:// from the urlrequest to the site that the PHP is stored and I get this IO error:
Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: app:/test.com/test.php
at my_fla::test_1/setPHP()[my_fla.test_1::frame1:38]
Notice the app:/ ? why is it there? Could it be the issue? I am not sure, but if you link to a local file, like "test.php" it works, but when adding a URL it doesn't...

Hi, my Laserjet 1600 printer worked fine with my old pc. Now i have a new pc with Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and somehow it can't communicate with my printer. Printer does work. cable isn't broken. Driver won't install either. What can be the problem? I also tried the HP universal printing PCL 5

Help! My Mac doesn't communicate with my DV camera!

I need some help setting up my DV camera to my Mac Pro. I've done all the things that the help guide and manual tells you to, but it is still unable to communicate with the camera. I've tried changing my capture settings, capture pre-sets and my easy set-up. Please, any advice or guesses would be greatly appreciated!

If you've followed Randy's suggestions above, and you say nothing shows up on the camera's LCD when you're connected (like DV IN), then I might suspect a bad firewire cable.
Remember, the Easy Setup should be chosen first; then you should be capturing into the project with that Easy Setup. If you've chosen the DV NTSC setup, what happens when you open the log and capture window? Does it say "VTR OK" under the view window, or does it say "NO COMMUNICATION?"
If the latter, again, you may have a bad cable. If you're getting the VTR OK, then try controlling the camera with the transport controls in the log and capture window. It should work.

My macbook pro doesn't communicate with video projectors anymore

Since a while, I cannot use my macbook for video presentations anymore.
The video beamer doesn't "see" my laptop, and in the display screen, no other screens are indicated.
Anybody out there who can help?

Make sure the discs are free of finger prints. The optical drive cannot read a disc with smudges and dust.
Check Finder > Preferences > General
Make sure: CDs, DVDs, and iPods, is selected.

Messages Doesn't Communicate with AIM Server - Can't add/delete buddies, change privacy settings

This has frustrated me and I think I've diagnosed the problem but I need help!
The problem occurs in Messages for Mountain Lion. I've set up my AIM buddy list and everything seems like it's working. But, when I try to add a buddy, it doesn't matter whether they are online or not, they appear to be offline. Then, when I quit Messages and launch it again, that entry has disappeared from the buddy list altogether. The same thing occurs when I try to delete a buddy or anything else that involves a change at the AIM server.
The problem is the Contacts app. I know that. If I trash my address book, everything works perfectly! If I add cards back one by one, the card that breaks Messages is always a different one. There isn't one "culprit." I also know that it's probably because I have had these contacts for years and I have migrated them from platform to platform. It's not a local problem though: if I trash my address book and then sync with iCloud to get my contacts back, it happens again.
There's something about the way Contacts and Messages handle AIM that doesn't allow changes to propagate to/from the AIM server and I can't discern any pattern that would lead to a solution.
Does anyone have any insight here? Is this just a bug in Messages?

Note: These instructions are for OS X 10.8 or later. In OS X 10.7, the procedure is the same, but the application is named "Address Book" instead of "Contacts."
Step 1
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBookSourceSync
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash.
Log out, log back in, and test. If there's no change, go to the next step.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Step 2
A. If you use iCloud, uncheck the box marked Contacts in the iCloud preference pane. Press return to confirm, or click Keep on Mac in the dialog that opens.
B. From the list of groups on the left side of the Contacts window, select All On My Mac. If that group doesn't exist or is empty, skip this step. Otherwise, from the menu bar, select
File ▹ Export ▹ Export vCard
Save the exported contacts to the Desktop.
C. Quit Contacts. Triple-click the text on the line below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V), and press return.
A Finder window will open with a folder selected. Move the selected folder to the Desktop, leaving the window open for now.
D. Launch Contacts. Your contacts will be gone. If you took Step 2, then double-click the file you created in that step and confirm that you want to import from it. Your contacts will reappear.
E. Re-enable Contacts in the iCloud preference pane, if you disabled it. Test. If the issue is resolved, delete the AddressBook folder and the vCard file on the Desktop and close the open folder window.
Otherwise, quit Contacts again and put the AddressBook folder back where it was, overwriting the newer one that will have been created in its place. Post your results.

My iPod nano (1st gen.) doesn't communicate with my pre-installed iTunes

I've had my iPod nano for just over a year now. It worked fine, including with my computer and iTunes, until my hard disk blew last summer. Since then, I've had trouble getting my iPod to work. Now I'm able to load it up with the Dock, and I'm pretty sure it's working normally.
However, my problem is that iTunes, which I had already installed several months before I reconnected my iPod, as I had some free song vouchers which were going to expire, doesn't recognize my iPod. I'm pretty sure there's a way to connect an iPod up to iTunes when the latter had already been installed, but I don't know how. Also, I have a lot of music on my iPod which I no longer have anywhere else. MY question is:
How can I connect my iPod up to iTunes (which has already been on my pc for a while) without losing any of the music on it?

Make sure all the songs in i-tunes are checked off (small box to the left of each song in the songs list), and click sync, or apply.

CANopen: the PC doesn't communicate with the motor controller

Hi there,
I'm new with both Labview and CANopen and I'm trying to write a RXPDO on my Linmot motor controller(VI attached). I'm using a PCI CAN Series 2 card.
My VI worked just once ; I was able for example to move the motor with the JOG commands.
Now the VI runs without errors but any control word is not really sent to the controller.
Sometimes (don't know why!!) after the CANopen create interface.vi, the interface object results "Not executed" but even when it is regularly executed, the motor doesn't receive the command.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

NOTE: the linmot controllers need the count nibble to be incremented for each new command; I've set the auto-increment using the linmot software.

thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately I already know those labview VIs, they are well developed but they don't run over the CANopen protocol.
I think the problems I'm having in using my controllers with Labivew and CANopen could depend on the fact that the LV canopen library are not intended for use with the latest version of Labivew (which is the version I'm actually using).
(It's the only explanation I have for strange behaviours dealing with open / close / reset can objects)

Isight doesn't communicate with ImovieHD

I have an Imac G5 with a built in Isight. The isight works fine in chat but when I try a record live video in imovieHD it says that there is no camera connected (blue screen). I have brought quicktime pro thinking that this might help but it hasn't. Any ideas?

As Sue points out, your best bet is to get iLife '06 so that you can use iMovie HD 6 with your built in iSight.
Here's a thread that talks about some workarounds to get it to work with iMovie HD 5, but I don't think you'll find them satisfactory.

Safari 5.0.1 is running very slow and doesn't communicate with iPhoto

Hi! I recently downloaded the suggested update for Safari 5 and now Safari runs slow and can't import photos to iPhoto. It takes 3 tries to import a photo and a message comes up saying the file didn't make it to iPhoto. I know I can't go back to Safari 5.0 unfortunately, but is there any way to make my internet experience a little bit more enjoyable?

I've notice the last few days that "emptying the cache" is being recommended a lot on this forum for all kinds of problems with Safari. Ping works for Fieldpoint but Max doesn't communicate with fp

I have Fieldpoint 5.0 installed. I have windows XP installed on the PC. I have set up an address on the FP1601. I can ping the FP from my PC. When I go to NI Max, under remote systems and right mouse click and choose find devices, the communication fails. I have reset the 1601 several times and still I can not find the devices. I have a FP-RTD-122 and a FPTB10 with a FP-AO-V5.

ITunes doesn't communicate with Nano

I have tried forfive days to get my Nano to work... I always get the same error message saying that iTunes cannot comunicate with the iPod and that I have to install it again. I also get an error in the iPod updater. I already tried everything in the troubleshooting here and I called tech support too, I even exchanged the nano for a new one... still I get the same exact error message. I have no idea what to do! I've wanted an iPod ever since it came out and now that I have it it's such a big dissapointment! Please help

Mac doesn't communicate with Epson CX7450 printer

Couple days ago, while trying to fix a problem with my printer, I messed the settings for the printer. I don't know what I did, but there is no "Printer and Fax" icon in the System Preferences. When I press Print and get the printer setting I find the settings for CX7400 printer and not for CX7450. What should I do to correct this situation and get my computer talking with my printer.

You could do an Archive and Install - the important part is reinstalling parts of the system. Here are links that explain the various installs:
