MD export datasource not shown in MySelf (BW3.5) datasources

A user-defined (simple) InfoObject (NUMC-7), characteristic, has selected 'With Master Data', but NO texts.
It also does not have any attributes, compound characteristics or hierarchies.
So, it is a simple 'table of codes' without any text.
The object is defined as an InfoProvider and the InfoArea is set (and exists). We can see it there.
Also, the 'Characterist. is export datasource' is selected.
The M- and P-tables are generated, the object is activated successfully.
After (several) replication of datasources with the 'MySelf' system and activating the structures (ABAP program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL which we always use after replication), we can not see the generated export datasource (default: "8<objectname>M") in the list when executing RSA3.
Who can help us with this problem?
Did we do something wrong? Or is it not possible because there are no attributes (other objects that have real attributes and no texts are visible in RSA3)?
We need to distribute the values of this object to other BW-systems (which therefore require this export datasource...).

Hi Dinesh,
Yes I did, but as described in the initial description: the InfoObject is visible within the InfoArea defined in the InfoObject (so not in the Unassigned), that is not the problem. Activating an object that is defined as 'export datasource' should, according to my knowledge, be visisble in the RSA3-list.

BW Myself source system in ECC 5.0 while Export DataSource!!

Hello BW Experts,
When we do Export DataSource for a DataMart eg:ODS, we have to again select our Myself BW source system and replicate our datasource to see it visible in the infosource tree with our DataMart name starting with 8*.
Plz clarify these Qs:
1. Can we perform "Generate Export dataSource " for customer generated DataMarts and replicate them in Myself BW source (Other than Business Content DataMarts??)??
2. Which is the Myself BW system in the ECC 5.0 version as everything is integrated and used being the source system as T90CLNT800 with the client 800and with a single userID and password.
Note:I could not find my generated Datasource for my customer generated DataMart to replicate the same using T90CLNT800 context menu.
Plz throw some light on this!!

Hi,
You dont need to replicate the datasource after the generate export datasource. You can find your 8* datamart in the infosource by using any of these 2 methods:
1. Goto the top most of the info-source i.e. "Infosources" -> right click -> Insert lost nodes. You should be able to find your datamart.
2. Goto settings (menu) -> Display generated objects -> show generated objects.

Generation of export datasource - datasource does not appear

Hello Guys,
I hope you can help me. I searched half the day in the SAP system and also google but couldn't get any help for my issue.
Situation:
I have already generated, activated export datasources and loaded with them from a BW in USA to EUROPE some transactional Data and master data. No problem (sales data, materials, 0ustomer).
But!: When i try to generate a export datasource for 0SOLD_TO and 0Ship_To infoobjects i receive the usual message "Datasource succesfully generated", but i never receive the expected 80Sold_TOT/80Sold_TOM resp. 80ship_TOT/80Ship_TOM datasources entry in the datasources tree! They simply dont get created at all.
Of course i did the replication (first in the source BW and also in the Target BW) but they both never appear.
Interestingly i have only an entry for 0SOLD_TOH (for the Hierarchies). But as explained not for the texts or the attributes.
My thought was that it might has to do with the fact that 0Sold_to and 0Ship_to are referenced characterisicts to 0customers?! but this would be strange in my eyes because in that way i would not be able to extract the attributes which are only connected to Sold-to and Ship-to!
I hope my question is clear for you and someone can help me!

Ok, I did the test now and it confirms our theory: No, export datasource are generated for IO's which are based on referenc. chars.!
This brings me really to the question: What should i do now to extract the Z-Attributes which belong to the objects 0Sold_to and 0Ship_to? I am not allowed to change the reference char which is 0Customer.
I need the export data sources because we extract the data from a USA BW on 7.x to a EUROPEAN BW 7.x
For me there is no other way known than this to transfer master data and transactional data from the DSOs and Cubes. Right?

Transfer rules of export datasource will not activate

We are on BW 3.5
We have an export datasource from an ODS that existed that we are regenerating and ultimately pointing to a different cube. When the transport was created in development, the infosource, transfer rules, transfer structure and communication structure were all on the transport.
When it got to test, the transport got a '12'. The transfer rules said active, but the datasource was not. Runnint RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL yielded (and still does) the error: "No versioning for PSA table" Error Message: RSAR023
We tried regenerating the export datasource. That took the transfer rule reference out of table RSISOSMAP and made RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL fail because it couldn't find the transfer rules at all.
We have tried reimporting.
We have tried replicating.
We have tried regenerating.
We have tried sending the datasource replica and datasource.
Nothing is working and it's holding up a large effort underway.
Any thoughts???
Note - we had another ODS with the same situation and we did the same thing and it is active. The only difference is that for the problem export datasource the underlyingn ODS itself was also transported.

Hi,
First transport the ODS and Replica of the datasource to quality. Check whether the ODs and replica 8* object is active.
Replicate them and regenerate them.
Then transport the transfer rules and update rules in the next transport and try activating them.

DSO activation failed due to creation of the export datasource failed

hi experts,
i am activating DSO, but failed. Cause is "The creation of the export DataSource failed"
there are many threads in the forum saying restoring the BI myself source system can address it, I tried many times, but failed.
I used program RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE to activate an already activated DSO, it returned same error and the original activated DSO turned into inactivated. So I guess there must be something wrong with the setting.

As I read the system RESTORE option should resolve your issue. From RSA1 try to restore your source system and try to active your DSO again.

Are Export DataSources always 3.x format? Can they be migrated to 7.0 DTP?

I am extracting for a BW Export DataSource into a cube. It seems that when you generate an Export DataSource, the DataSource in 3.x format.
I first created the ETL using the 3.x scenario.
i.e Export DataSource->Transfer Rules->InfoSource->Update Rules->Cube
I then wanted to move the DTP for improved efficiency and so created a new 7.0 InfoSource and built the 7.0 scenario
i.e Export DataSource->Transformation->7.0 InfoSource->Transformation->Cube and all works well.
I'm now trying to remove the 3.x scenario, but it causing problems because the Export DataSource remains 3.x.
If I try to delete the 3.x DataSource, it wants to remove dependent objects (which are both 3.x & 7.0 scenarios).
If try and migrate the 3.x DataSource to 7.0 (Rightclick: Migrate), it gives me an Error Message no. RSDS163 - Export DataSource 8AUEQUIPMTM(CBW230ALE) in myself system: Object type RSDS not possible
I can't find anything on OSS, but I suspect Export DataSources are not supported in the 7.0 format as yet.
As such, I am required to leave 3.x scenario intact to process the 7.0 scenario.
This isn't a great problem, but it is a little messy and confusing for the person administering the loads.
Can anyone tell me if it possible to make an Export DataSource into 7.0 DataSource?

Hi,
when needed, you can indeed convert datasources from v3.5 to V7, and back, using transaction RSDS. Choose "with export". This "saves" the "other" version, and so it can be "restored" afterwards via RSDS again.
This is also true after DS replication from a sourcesystem, when the system asks whether you want the new replicated DS to be 3.X or V7. Either you choose, you can convert afterwards if needed.

Error in transporting ODS(Error when creating the export DataSource.......)

Hi All,
 When I try to transport ODS from dev to quality i m getting the following error.
DataSource 8XADDR1 does not exist in source system BQ1CLNT355 of version A
Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects
Error when activating ODS Object XADDR1

 XADDR1 is my ODS. BQ1CLNT355 is myself source system. When i checked the connection in the source system tab in Quality,it is ok.
Please Suggest solution,if any body encountered same problem. It is very urgent for me.

Replicate your source system in qual and then try to transport the ODS and the datamart object 8ODS ....

   I need to copy Cube content(0SD_C04) to (ZSD_C04) Cube.So generated Export Datasource from (0SD_C04) .I can view them (80sd_c04) under Myself   So urce system - Datasource Overview.But i cannot view them in INFOSOURCES..Under which Appl.Comp it gets placed??

   Check settings to display export datasources from Menu: Settings --> Display export Datasources --> Show generated ODS objects.
   Still not available ... then goto RSA1 --> Infosource --> From context menu(Right click) of Infosouce --> Choose "Insert Lost Nodes".
Refresh and check.

Hi Bhaskar and welcome to the SDN,
not quite sure about your problem, but I guess you need to replicate the datasources of source system myself after generating export datasources. Additionally you need to switch on 'display generated objects'. You can do that in rsa1->infosources by selecting Settings->display generated objects from the top menu. Don't forget to refresh the display after doing that.

Some background jobs not shown in SM37

Dear Friends,
Some of my background jobs are not shown or visible in SM37. But, it is available in TBTCO, TBTCP & TBTCS tables. These jobs are scheduled in daily basis. These tables having records for all days of missed jobs.
I dont know, why it is not comming in SM37. I tried in many search parameters in SM37 like prog. name, date and so on.
These missed background jobs are not comes in spooler (SP01) also.
Kindy, suggest me to find out the missed background jobs.

Normally this should not happen. Make sure the following in sm37:
a. The start date is : 01.01.1800
b. The end date is : 31.12.9999
c. All the checkboxes (six checkboxes) are ticked.
d. username = your username
e. jobname = *
SM37 gets records from the view V_OP (containing TBTCO and TBTCP)
and filters for username using the field SDLUNAME.
So you can basically cross-check if the count is atleast correct or the jobs were of different user (fieldname in the view/table) etc. (From SM37, you can export to excel and check the count)

Error while generating export datasource in Test and Prod system

Hi experts,
I tried to generate export datasorce on a cube in teh testing system so that i can use this as a datasource for another cube. I did this so that i can transport all teh relevnt objects from D to T. But Iam gettin teh following erro msg
System setting does not allow changes to be made to object ISTD 80CRM_PRI.
while Prod system produces teh follwoing error msg
Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted
Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'.
After i have done this and when i go to the context menu of teh infocube i can see maintain export datasource option.
Also I couldn't see the infosource generated in Infosources ( FYI I have already done display generated objects under settings)
Can anyone tell me how to proceed further.

Hi DV,
Generally export datasource are not included in the request from the test server. It gets generated automatically when (ODS,Cube) based on which the datasource s transported to production / quality .
I think solution should be try not to include export datasource, infosource ,transfer rules to request from dev server.

In APO while creating generate export datasource for a cube, I am getting the following error.
Creation of InfoSource 8XXX for target system BW 1.2 failed - Message no. RSBM 026
Diagnosis - Failed to create InfoSource &v1& for target system BW 1.2.
System Response -
The InfoCube cannot be used as a data mart for a BW 1.2 target system.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Now I am facing a different problem. The generated DM infosource is not available under InfoSource - DM.
I have changed the ODS setting from Hide to Show
also InfoSources - RC - insert lost nodes..
no luck.. any suggestion

The Creation of Export DataSource Failed Error while transporting ODS Cube

I am facing this issue from last 1 week.. i had developed an ODS cube in APO-DP BW which will fetch data from SAP R/3 and its working fine in APO Dev Server. But when i transport this cube into APO PAC(Prodn Server) the below error i am getting..
   Start of the after-import method RS_ODSO_AFTER_IMPORT for object type(s) ODSO (Activation Mode)
   The creation of the export DataSource failed
   Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
   Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
   Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects
   Error when activating DataStore Object ZANAUTSL
I also updated the transport conversion tables but still problem not resolved.
Immediate help is hightly appreciated.

Hi AJ,
Looking at your error, it seems that the RFC user's password is locked and hence connectivity from R/3 towards APO BW is broken.
You know the name of your export datasource (from R/3 to APO BW). Find out the name of your R/3 source system e.g. PACCLT000, by scrolling to the right against teh export data source.
Take help of your Basis or EAI team to identify the RFC destination corresponding to the connectivity from the R/3 source system (PACCLT000) to your APO BW system. (If needed ask for help from your BW team, I am not very sure how connectivity would be set up from R/3 to APO BW, I guess this would be independent from CIF connectivity)
For this RFC connection from R/3 to APO BW, see which RFC user is maintained in SM59 in APO and ask your security team to reset (or unlock) the password of this RFC user in R/3, and then if required update the user password details in SM59 in APO also.
After this, your issue should get resolved.

Why are the DNG Thumbnails of my Sony DRC RX100 not shown in the File Finder of my Mac?

When I first import the original RAWs from my Sony DRC RX100, I can see the thumbnails in the File Finder (so my Mac with OSX 10.9.1. is perfectly fine), but after reworking them with Lightroom and exporting them as DNG files, the pictures are not shown any more as thumbnails in the file finder, but as empty white boxes. The curious thing is that the RAW pictures shooted with my Nikon D5200 do not have any visualization problem after exporting them from Lightroom. The problem is very disgusting, as I can not search for pictures in the file finder. And Adobe did just close my open request on this issue (case #0180632682) without my consent and without any solution! Who else has got this problem and knows if there is any help to this stupid phenomenon? Does anyone at Adobe take care at all?

I think that this is a Lightroom problem because the original Raw files from the camera card are shown as thumbnails in the file finder, but after importing them into Lightroom as dng, retouching them and exporting them with Lightroom, the files are not shown any more. Obviously my sony RX100 camera is not the problem, at least not for my Mac. As Lightroom always needs to work together with a windows PC or a Mac, Adobe should ensure the compatibility of the functions with the host system. I think that is what all consumers logically expect from Lightroom. And a photography SW should be able to show fotos and export visible foto files...
The very same Dng files from my other camera (a Nikon d5200) do not have this problem at all, although I export them in the very same format as the pics from my Sony, which is not at all an exotic camera. This is very confusing.
I export dng files because this is the Lightroom own raw format that keeps the original quality of my raws. TIFF files are too large, and jpegs sensibly reduce the quality. So there is no option. I need to stay in Raw. Do I have any other quality options?
