Md02,md01 and mdbt

Hi, pls advise my understanding is correct or not.
1. md01- instead of running md02 for individual header finish materials, we can combine all finish mat planning thru md01. aslo it covers all the materials of a plant for all types of requirements (pir's, s/o etc).
2. the difference between mdbt and md01 is background planning and fore ground planning. other than that there is no difference.
3. manual re-order point mrp type can also generate procurement proposals while running md01 or and mdbt run.
pls advis whether above undestanding is correct.

Hi,
we can combine all finish mat planning thru md01. aslo it covers all the materials of a plant for all types
of requirements (pir's, s/o etc).
MD01 / MDBT / MD02 will plan not plan for materials with MRP type MPS (M0/M1/M2/M3)

  • Detail diffierence between MD01 and MD02

    Dear all
Detail diffierence between MD01 and MD02
one material under Plant 1000, material master all ready
currently  we have one planed order against this materaial as following:
    25.12.2009     PlOrd.     0242458238/Stck          0050          7.400,000      3.000,000-     4491     23.12.2009     23.12.2009
    run MD01
    Parameter setting in MD01
    Scope of planning
    Plant                     1000    **********
Processing key              NETCH   Net change for total horizon
Create purchase req.      2       Purchase requisitions in opening period
    Schedule lines               3       Schedule lines
Create MRP list             1       MRP list
Planning mode              3       Delete and recreate planning data
Scheduling                    2       Lead time scheduling and capacity planni
    Planning date                23.12.2009
after run MD01, I guess the planned order number should be changed since I setting Planning mode as "3", also scheduling of planned order should be carried out, but the planned order number and scheduling are not changed.
but, I run MD02 by single material,  the parameter setting as MD01 screen.
This time, planned order number changed as well as scheduling of new planned order is carried out.
so I confused what the exactly diffierence btw MD01 and MD02
    Thanks for your suggestion
    Benny

    Benny,
MD01 requires a planning file entry, MD02 does not.
Check/create appropriate Planning file entries in MD20.
To create planning file entries for all materials in background, use MDAB. Depending on the history of your system, you might also have to fix inconsistancies using MDRE.

  • MRP MD02 and MDBT

    Dear Experts,
In our organization planned orders are getting generated through MD02 for a particular plant, but not getting generated through MDBT.
Please suggest what could be the reasons.....
    Rgds

    Hi ,
Usually the cause is that the corresponding planning file entries are not set for the material (transaction MD21). You can find further information on planning file entries in notes 205681, 371016 and 553746. In order to check which materials the total planning run plans, it is recommended that you set the 'Display material list' parameter in the planning variants. The spool list for the job then lists the planned materials.

  • MD01 and MD02

I've encountered a problem that I'm hoping will help me understand the MRP process a bit.
I have a material with an independent requirement with no existing inventory.  If I run MRP using MD01, MRP doesn't plan the material.  However, if I use MD02, it plans it correctly, creating planned orders for it.
I'm hoping someone can tell me what's going on.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ross

    Ross,
Display is MD21.  If you are a planner, you should probably have access to MD20 Create planning file entry, MD21 Display planning file entry,  MDAB  Set up planning file entry in background, and  MDRE Check planning file entry
You might have access to view the table that contains the planning file data.  The name of the table is usually MDVM for regular MRP(not planning area MRP; not long term planning MRP).  Use the table browser SE16N or SE16, enter the table MDVM, and execute.  You are looking for a lack of an entry against your material/plant.

  • MRP Run in MD01 and MD03 is different

    Dears,
I am new to MRP processes. Maybe the problem is trivial maybe not.
We have a 9 000 spare parts and would like to use a limited MRP to help operators to know which number of spare parts is coming to shortage.
I set material master and made some settings in customizing for the plant I use.
After that I choose one material which stock is below reorder point.
I run MD03 and system works fine - it creates a planned order.
However when I run MD01 (or se38 ->RMMRP000) with the same parameters as for MD03 , the system creates nothing. Only telling that MRP was run and which parameters I choose.
I run MD16 to see maybe there are some planned order that system created and did not tell me, but nothing as well.
Only MD03 works if I choose the material. However, collective run MD01 is not working.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Zhargal,
Could you pls provide some more info on MRP control parameters you use while running MRP with MD01?

  • Problem in MD01 and MD03

    Dear Experts,
Please guide me to understand the following issue:
When I run MD01 for a plant, there are no materials planned. No purchase reqn. are generated.
However when I run MD03, the MRP results for the given material (in the same plant) are coming and purchase reqn. is generated.
Shouldn't this material (used in  MD03) be reflected in the MRP results generating in MD01 also?
Pls guide me, where I am missing something.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohit.

    Dear Sir,
But it is not happening, I am running MD01 after ticking the "Display Material List", then also the material is not reflecting in the results.
However when I run MD03, by giving the material code, the purchse reqn. is generated there.
    Pls guide me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohit.

  • MD01 and MD03

    Dear Experts,
I have run Total Planning using TCode MD01 , it has created a lot of PRs for a lot of Materials , BUT some materials where not listed in those PRs however when I have run TCode MD03 for a Material it created A PR , So what is the reason of not creating it using MD01 ????
    Please Advice
    Best Regards

    Hi,
This may be due to the problem with planning at plant level MD01 id the planning at plant level and MD03 is the planning at material level. Planning file entries will be created for the newly created materils. Please check in MD20/MD21. For detailed analysis please go through the link. This will definetely resolve your issue. Thanking you.

  • When MRP run through background process in MDBT open PR and PO not comming?

    Hi,
When MRP run through backgroung process in MDBT open PR and PO not coming in MDBT result.
    Pls advise accordingaly.
    Regards
    rk

    Ram,
Either I am totally misunderstanding your statements, or your business people are misinformed.
The output of MD01 (MRP total run in foreground) and the output of MDBT (MRP total Run in Background) ARE IDENTICAL, provided you have selected the same parameters.
Neither output contains a discrete listing of open Purchase orders and Purchase requisitions.
Standard output of both MD01 and MDBT are:
    1.  List of materials processed, with exception messages
    2.  Statistics
In addition, both of these programs also write MRP records to the MRP databases, provided that the "Display Material List" parameter is set.  In this case, both of these programs will produce data that can be further reviewed and managed in MD05 and MD06. MD06 is the tool that most planners use to process the MRP database info.
If you wish to see a listing of the entire MRP results (either MD01 or MDBT), then execute transaction MDLD.  This will produce either a spoolfile or a printed document.
For the PO or PR listings, review my earlier suggestions.

  • MRP in Mode 3 not running

    Hello All,
While running MRP in background with mode 3 the proposals are not deleted & recreated or even not rescheduled with the changed lead time in the master recipe.
But with the same parameters MD02 is perfectly behaving as expected.
I have even ran the Planning file entry & consistency , Still not solved.
    Please help me...
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh
I think the material does not have planning file entry flag...
Different from MD02, MD01 or MRP background job (MDBT) always require planning file entry flag to schedule certain material.
(In MD02, it does not require planning file entry flag to carry out MRP.
So even you delete planning file entry flag that exist in table MDVM / DBVM<In
case of MRP area is used>, you can still carry out MRP to material).
However MD01 and MDBT (program RMMRP000) always require planning file entry flag. So if certain material does not have any flag, this material is not scheduled during MRP.
Planning file entry flag is set when certain action is carried out.
    -Creating Sales order
    -Adjust PIR
    -BOM change
-Material master change (but not all field change. Only MRP relevant area change)
*If you change routing or Master Recipe change, this does not update planning file entry flag.  So in this case, this material have to wait other action that trigger MRP or schedule this material from MD02 or carry out MRP with NEUPL mode.
(For this behavior please check SAP Note  88669)
    Best Regards

  • MRP - Background Processing

    Dear Gurus,
From where I can get the list of materials that System has plan after MRP run in Background
    Ishwar

    Hi,
MD01 and MDBT are same only. These two are at Plant Level or Scope of Planning Level (MRP Area)
You can schedule the Job for MDBT, when the System resources are free i.e in the Mid night.
MD01 can not be used for regular purposes, it will chockup the system.
As you know that MD02 is for Single Material & Multi Level and MD03 is for Single Mat. Single Level.
I prefer MDBT in the Night Run. in rare cases we can use MD02.
I am really surprised to hear that with SM37 you could not get the Material List. But I can not verify now to suggest some thing....
    Hope this helps..

  • Problem with Back ground MRP Run (MDBT) or MD01

    Hello SAP Experts,
Issue :- Material is not considering during Automatic back ground MRP run ( MDBT or MD01)
But when we run MRP in forground (MD02) system is considering the material.
we have checked both the selection parameter are same for MD01 and MD02 .
can you help us on this issue ?
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi,
Problem is due to entry in Planing File is missing for that Material.
Go to MD21 and check whether Planing File entry is maintain for that Materiel.
If not then maintain it by T.code MD20 (Manual) or you can do it by using back Ground JOB - OMDU.

  • MD01 isnot generating PR

    Hi,
When I run MRP with MD01 or MDBT, the particular component is not getting planned, howver when i try with MD02 transaction, PR is getting created for safety stock, please suggest me why PR is not getting generated with MD01/MDBT.
    Regards.
    Santhosh

    Hi,
When you use the MD01 the system will look for the planning file entry and for the materials which have planning file entry will only be included in the planning run.
KIindly maintain the planning file entry in the md21 or mdab. and rerun your md01.
it is working in md02 or mdbt since you are giving the input as material.
    Hope it will help.

  • Automatic production order creation and confirmation

    Dear all,
I am in a situation where i have to configure the SAP system in the following ways:
    1. From the planned orders automatically production order should be created today for the next day production and the end user will re-declare the quantity if there are any changes in the production order.
    2. If there are no re declarations to be done SAP should automatically release production order and save it.
    3. After the goods are produced the confirmation of the order should happen automatically from the measuring points.
    4. In the order confirmation, the storage location for goods issue should be automatically captured from the goods issue slip.
5.After the confirmation of the order the goods receipt should happen automatically.
Please suggest me whether these are possible in SAP or not.  If yes please tell me the procedure.

    HI,
I hope this will give you the clear picture
    actually my scenario is:
    Finished good= x
    work centers involved = WC1, WC2.
HERE BOTH THE WORK CENTERS ARE IDENTICAL, INPUTS ARE SAME AND OUTPUT IS THE FINISHED GOOD "X"  FOR BOTH THE WORK CENTERS.
I HAVE A ROUTING FOR THE FINISHED GOOD "X" WITH TWO GROUP COUNTERS AS (1)WC1 AND (2) WC2
When i create plan in md61 for 1 month and when i do mrp run in md02 it will create the planned orders and we can see the stock requirements in md04 and when we double click on the planned order we can convert them into production orders.
But my users requirement is, he want to run the mrp in md01 and after that automatically each day the production order should be created.
example with the above work centers and materials:-
i have done the mrp run for "x" for November and December months
i want to produce "x" of 200 kg on 30.11.2011.
so SAP should generate production order for WC1 AS 100KG AND WC2 AS 100KG on 29.11.2011 at 5 pm automatically  and the user will release the order.
    similar example:-
i have done the mrp run for "x" for November and December months
i want to produce "x" of 400 kg on 03.12.2011.
so SAP should generate production order FOR WC1 AS 200KG AND WC2 AS 200KG on 02.12.2011 at 5 pm automatically and the user will release the order.
Please suggest me how to do the configure settings for my users requirement.
    Thanks,
    Aravind.C
