MD04 Overview Tree

Dear Gurus,
I have a stock transfer scenario in my project.My problem is in MD04 overview tree I see all the bom items of stock transfer components of issuing plant.Please tell is this standard and how we will restrict to users in receiving Plant.I have given authorizaton for the T-Code in receiveing plant but still by mistake user can change the MRP element of issuing Plant in MD04.Is there any setting so that the MRP element of issuing plant in receiving plant will be kept for display only.Means the MRP element cannot b converted to prod order or purchase order in reciving plant.Hope u get my question.Waiting for ur reply.
Kind Regards.
Srajane

Hi,
You have to maintain roles for creating/changing each MRP element on the basis of plant or order type whichever parameter possible. Do not think of restricting in t-code MD04, but organize authorities for each MRP element one by one and create different roles for the people in different plants.

• MD04 overview tree problem

Hi SAP experts i hope you can help me on something, i need to know the requirements for the Overview tree to work with my materials, i have a group order that i would like to view in the overview tree but i can only see the FERT material, i cant see the other two HALBs, i hope you can help me out, if you need more info please tell me.

German ,
It does not matter if your MRP type is M0 or PD. You should be able to see the entire Order structure if you have the MRP element (planned order/ production order ) for that material.
If there is no such MRP element either due to no requirement ( sale order /dependent requiremnt) or Excess Stock (stock more than requirements) then you cannot see the Order Tree in the Overview screen. The Order tree will display only if there is a order( plan or production).
Hope this explains your issue. If you have further questions please come back.
Thanks,

• MD04 Overview tree issue question

Good evening,
I have an issue where my overtree in MD04 is going a bit funny.
I explode the selected order and it displays all the lower level (as you would expect) but for the Semi Fin (sub assembly) I am get 2 or 3 entries for the Semi Fin items!!
Can anyone tell me why this is happening or how I can correct it?
Kind regards

Hi,
Please check stock requirement list of the semi-finished( sub-assembly) itself.
Check how many dependent requirements are generated which are pegged for the finished good which is in question, if there are multiple dependent requirement for the same finished good, then you are expected to see as many number of segments for the SFG in order tree report.
Best Regards.

• Md04 not showing Overview tree

In my case MD04 is not showing the overview tree.
First case
For material x if i put Plant and MRP area same then its not showing the overview tree.
Second case
When i put MRP area (as per configuration ) and plant in this case it is showing the overview tree.
please suggest.

Dear Amit,
system is giving correct results,
if your order will show the tree in which mrp area it is.
now suppose you dont put any MRP area in the intial screen and put plant only. then system will consider that plant same as mrp area.
now if you put the the MRP area and the respective plant.
orders in that MRP area will be shown. and order is is only shown when there is pegged ordes to that order.
in your case there may not be dependant orders.
and you cant see the same orders in 2 cases you told.

• MD04/ MD4C-Overview Tree

HI,
Client has a requirement which goes as: There are BOMs with BOM usages 1,5 & R (R is copied from 1, used for lower components). Now in MD04/ MD4C, when we navigate to the Overview Tree, the client wants that only those users, can see the components (which have BOM usage R), who have the authorization for BOM usage R. The authorization object is there but it only restricts the users from change/ display of BOM.
How to make the lower components with usage R not visible for users not authorized to use BOM with usage R in MD04/ MD4C?
Please advice.
Thanks.

Hello
On the standard system, this is not possible. Transaction MD4C is builded based on the planned order dependent requirements (table RESB), not on the BOM itself. Therefore, there is no authority check for the BOM usage.

• Document overview tree in ML81N is blank

Hi All,
User has reported an issue that the document overview tree in ML81N is blank. It is not showing any recent POs. Is there any setting through which this tree can be populated? Or this is related to some authorization issue?
Thanks In advance.

• Clearing overview tree in Monitor

Hi,
I want to know how to clear overview tree in monitor . (Info package Load Monitor Screen)

Hi Arshad,
You cannot do that. What you can do is delete the request itself. In case the request is errored then goto RSA1 -> PSA -> find the request and delete.

• Multiple BOM Explosion in MD04 for the same material

Dear PP Gurus,
Scenario is make to order. BOM is created for production usage (1) & sales usage (5) for a Header material. Routing also exists for the same.
Once i run MRP at plant level or material level after creating sales order , BOM is expoded multiple times i.e. 3- 4 times but proposals ( planned orders) are created as per requirements.But BOM explosion when we click on show overview tree is happening multiple times which should not happen.
Our client business is not getting hampered by this but still he doesnt want explosion multiple times and to be precise it should not happen.
Can anyone pls. throw some light on this .
Thanks in advance . Answers will be rewarded for sure.
regards,
Nagraj Vasmate

Hello Nagraj,
In MD04, On overview tree, it explodes all possible BOM for the header material.
System will explode all valid BOM's with usage 5 and 1 for that specific material.

• Zig zig red color light in MD04

Dear all,
When i check the MRP through md04 and when i do show overview tree and then i click order report that time on left side of dependent material code system shows a zig zig type red light box.
This light system show when there is shortage of stock in plant.
But when the stock come in plant the light changes to green and also light changes to green when the date of planned order is after the availability receipt of dependent material which has been defined in material master.
So i want to set this red light only if their is no stock or shortage of stock in plant and it should not change to green considering the availability date mentioned in material master.
Kindly help how to set this.
Regards,
Phalgun Patel

Phalgun,
In the same overview tree you see Define traffic light option. Configure it as per your requirements.

• Mrp run and seeing the stock in md04 with green traffic light showing green

Hi,
i am running a mto scenario in which sale order is created and mrp run is done and i checked the stock md04 of a finished product in that the rawmaterials and semifinshed products are showing the traffic light green light of show overview tree in md04 when it is first time created there is no stock of the rawmaterial and semfinished product.
with out any stock why it is showing the traffic light green and what is the procedure to show the light red when stock is not there.
rawmaterial is of consumable like paint in which it is not supporting in the bom and it is giving the message it is of process material can any body pls help me how paint is created as a consumable in bom creation.
regards,
muralidhar.t

Hi muralidhar,
MRP is a planning tool, not an availability check one.
It means that you are getting a green light even though there's no stock because the lead time to procure is shorter than the requirement date.
Regarding consumables, I'm not sure what you include in that, but you can either define them as non stock items in the BOM (in which case they will be specifically purchased for the production order), or maybe you meant that these materials are planned using consumption based planning; in this case they are defined normally as a stock item in the BOM, the difference being that they are not exploded in MRP, and the requirements are not triggered by the higher level.

• Bsp htmlb:tree

Hi,
I created a BSP application with dynamic htmlb:tree using TVIEW2. Everything works fine BUT... when I navigate to another page and I return to the page containing the tree-object, my tree is no longer displayed, although the internal table TVIEW2 is properly filled. Anyone experienced this problem also??? Possible solution?

Layout:
<myhtmlb:gridLayoutCell columnIndex = "1"
rowIndex    = "1" >
<%-- Overview tree --%>
<myxhtmlb:overflowContainer height = "495"
width  = "350"
mode   = "SCROLL" >
<myhtmlb:tree id               = "TREE_PROP"
onTreeClick      = "OnInputProcessing"
restoreViewState = "TRUE"
height           = "495"
width            = "350"

title            = "Personnel Overview" />
</myxhtmlb:overflowContainer>
</myhtmlb:gridLayoutCell>
internal table i_tree is filled in OnInitialization event. The table is proporly filled.

• Reading the Stock requirment List

Hello Every one,
I had some questions reading the stock requirement list. When I am placing the curser on a planned order and expanding the overview tree for the lower levels, system breaks down the requirement to the lower levels. Agreend But why does the system repeat the same set of materials more than once in the overview tree showing the dependent requirements twice in both the lists? Is there any standard sequence in which the Stock requirement list can be evaluated?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Aji

Dear Dogboy,
I am facing the same problem. Let I will explain in detail...
I am using AFS material. There is a requirement for Pant large size 200 quantity and small size 100 quantity. When I run system raises
For one line item of pant large size system create planned order no 1223 for 200 quantity
and for another line item pant small size system create planned order no 1223 for 100 quantity.
Now, in MD04, when i place the cursor in planned order 1223 of first line item and expanding the overview tree, system shows requirement as 200 quantity.
When I place the cursor in the second line item and expands the overview tree, system shows requirement as 200 instead of 100.
Is this happening due to AFS material?

Hi Shanto,
I too faced the same problem when I implemented this. The problem was with the spelling of paramater "Url".
Check the spelling of the paramater "Url" in the exit plug. It is case sensitive and it should be "Url".
Following is the steps for creating an exit plug:
Step 1: Open the node WebDynpro → Web Dynpro Components → Your Component → Component Interface → Interface Views in the overview tree of your project. Double-click the interface view Your InterfaceView.
Step 2: Select the Plugs tab in the Plugs area.
Step 3: Choose New next to the outbound plug table. Enter a descriptiv
outbound plug, for example, GotoUrl, and choose Exit Plug.
Step 4: Select the new outbound plug GotoUrl and choose New next to the parameter table. Enter the name Url (the correct spelling is important) for the new parameter and choose string as the type.
Step 5: Open the view in the View Designer and select the Properties tab. Choose Add next to the Required Controllers table and add Your InterfaceView controller.
Step 6: Write the following code in the button action of the view:
String lnk = "";
try {
lnk = WDURLGenerator.getAbsoluteWebResourceURL(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(),"Exit.html");
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess(lnk);
} catch (WDURLException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
wdThis.wdGetCase1WindowInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugGoToUrl(lnk);
