MD21 and MRP forecasting

Hello,
I am running MRP(forecast based) and found that system does make changes in planning file(MD21),
if there are changes made in GR/GI, scrap, Materials master and PO  etc.
But does not make change, if these changes are in Sales order, new sales order, creation delivery and picked by TO/WM etc...
My understanding is that if new sales  order created/deliveries changed, if should add made the entry in MD21 as all these changes and run with MRP as these are recorded in MD04.
Other thing is: Processing Indicator, after making PGI, it did not reset the indicator. I have checked fully may be qty was smal l!!
Please suggest.
Regards,
JPS

Hello
Please try to provide more details when opening a thread, so that people can understand exactly what is your problem.
I have searched for a functionality called "Interactive Graphics" and the only reference that I found was on Sales and Operations Planning (PP-SOP):
Sales & Operations Planning (LO-LIS-PLN) - SAP Library
Are these the same interactive graphics refered on your thread? If this is the case, there is no such functionality on MRP.

  • Forecast and MRP type

    Hi,
I am in the process of designing a system where there is one DC which gets all sales orders and one mfg plant whihc manufactures and then STOs the material to the DC. Would it be a good thing to have the same forecast for the same material in the same preiods in the DC and the mfg plant, with the sales orders consuming the DC forecast and the STO consumng the mfg plant forecast ? I cannot think of any other way for the DC to drive the demand to the mfg plant and the mfg plant working with this demand to begin manufacturing and component sourcing.
Also I ran a forecast with the MRP type PD. I was expecting VV to be the only MRP type which will allow forecast to be run but looks like PD allows forecast as well. Is that corrrect ?
    Thanks

    Hello GS
It is not necessary to define the forecast on both plants, only on the plant where the sales orders will be received. Then, on the material master, you define a special procurement type such as "production in alternative plant" or "stock transfer" and MRp will automatically redirect the requirements from the DC to the manufacturing plant.
Take a look on the following link for more details:
Multi-Plant/Site Planning - Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library
Yes, PD allows the forecast. If you want to know which MRP types allow the forecast, take a look on the MRP type customizing transaction OMDQ. There is a setting where you define if the forecast is optional, mandatory or not allowed for the MRP type.

  • MD04 Transaction and MRP related queries

    Hello All,
i have some specific questions regarding MD04 and MRP Run
    1. In MD04  for few raw material i am getting -ve available quantities , i am not getting why MRP didn"t run for the same before available qty become negative , we have a batch job schedule for MRP run .
what all the possibilites of not running the MRP ,
We don't have reorder level planning !  MRP type`is standard one PD .
    2. For some material we are not able to create a planned order, settings in Material Master MRP view is fine as we have another material with same settings are working , i am running the MRP through MD41 Transaction code >
Forecasting is done through MD61/62 active indicator ticked >
what else could be the reason .
Secondly one silly question does MRP take into consideration available stock during run , i mean if i run the MRP for a material with Tcode MD41 , will MRP create Planned orders , even if enough stock is available >
Thanks for coming back in advance  .
    Thanks and regards

Look for the MRP list as well (MD05), not only the Stock/Requirements List (MD04).
You can see there the date and time of the last MRP run, and if there was a termination that did not allow the proper run.
There may be a number of reasons why a material was not included in the MRP run, like what type of run (e.g. regenerative or net change), etc.

  • MRP Forecasting Run

    Hi Gurus,
Need your expert advice on one of our issues.
We have a requirement that AMC should be taken for the past 6 months regardless if there is any usage or not. Standard behaviour is that during MRP Forecasting run, zero values in the earlier historical values are not taken into account.
For instance forecast period is set to '6' however, only last period has a value of 19.17 and others are zero in the historical data.
When we execute the forecast run system actually considers as 1 month even if we defined 6 month.
If standard SAP doesn't  cater for the above,  is there a  way to twig the system to achieve the above objective? If yes, how can this address the zero usage and can it be restricted for a specific group of users?
    Thanks.

    Dear Poster
You have created a thread in the SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) area, is this correct? The issue reported seems like it should belong to an ERP or similar forum? Let us know of this issue refers at all to SMR_SERVER and we can proceed with assistance otherwise I will move your thread to a  more suitable forum if SRM is not your issue!

  • Interested in bringing Past Due forecast from MRP Forecast Sets to ASCP

We are on 12.1.3 (EBS and ASCP) and are interested in bringing a week of past due forecast from MRP Forecast set into ASCP. We are running EDD plan.
Following have been enabled but no luck yet, open to suggestions or explanations.
    1. Include Past Due Forecast = 5
    2. Spread Forecast Evenly = checked (as we are in weekly buckets)
    3. Demand Time Fence control = checked on plan options
    4. Item are enabled for Demand Time Fence days = 0
    5. Complete Collections and Plan have been ran.
Observation - Since the week start date is on Monday, when the plan ran from Tuesday, it brings the forecast for current week from Tuesday of that week onwards breaking into days. But it doesn't bring in forecast for Monday or prior week days.
Per ASCP guide, Include Past Due Forecast is useful only in case of Oracle Demand Planning.
Any help in this regards is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Inventory report for the selection of requisitioner and MRP controller

    Hello Experts,
Can someone please help me with a standard  Inventory report in which we can give input thr requistioner and MRP controller
    regards,
    YK

    Hi,
You will get the requisition no. from EKKO (provided PO has been created otherwise you won't get any record). Find out PO & item no. for the requisition item. Then you can check EKBE table whether GR has been posted or not. If GR has not been posted then there won't be entry in EKBE for that PO & item.

  • APO Constrained and unconstrained Forecast for a Product, Location

    Hi Gurus,
Please let me know the simple ways to get the constrained and unconstrained forecast for a product / location. I am new to APO, so please help me to send the detailed information. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your wonderful help.
    Best regards
    Nagarajan

    Nagarjan,
When you run the fortecast in DP you consider the sales history. Now, this sales history is actual sales. While forecasting all that is considered are these values of the past and not the present and future capability to actually meet this forecast. Its just plain statistically generated numbers. Now suppose based on your sales you generate the following forecastL
    Jan 1000
    Feb 1000
    Mar 1500
This is then released to SNP. Use the TX /sapapo/mc90. The idea is now to EVALUATE THIS FORECAST AGAINST OUR CAPABILITY TO SUPPLY, IN OTEHR WORDS CONTRAINTS!
After releasing to SNP you can do a finite planning taking into consideration constraints such as Capacity, vendor capabilities, procurement constraints etc... Its almost always the case that the exact numbers cannot be met and thats whgy we do all the replanninga and levelling and rescheduling etc etc...
In SNP you can run an unconstrained pla., You can then level this using SNP capacity levelling. Remmeber this process may span certain levels like DC- > FG Plant -> SFG Plant etc...
After considering supply capcbilities you can come up with a REVISED forecast:
    Jan: 800
    Feb: 1000
    Mar: 1600
Note that for March you are able to take an increased volume. You can now release this plan to DP back again to tell it that this is the demand I can meet and this is what should be planned. This can be done using Tx /SAPAPO/SNPFCST or /SAPAPO/LCOUT
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Blanket Purchase Order and MRP

    Gurus,
How MRP considers Blanket purchase Order - supplies..suppose i have a BPO for 100 Items/1 yr..that means roughly every qtr 25 numbers. But we are not asking the suppliers to supply the good until we ask him..this contract is to reduce lead time ..still buyer should be aware of the demand for this items..if BPO is not there..he will get requisitions..but now MRP will not recommond PR's as BPO is in place..pl advise..how to handly this case/
I couldnt find much documentation on BPO and MRP.
    Rgds,

MRP does not consider BPO as supply. Only blanket releases are considered as a supply.
So in your case, MRP WILL recommend PR whenever it sees the demand. And the buyer will be able to convert the PR into a Blanket release.
    Hope this answers your question

Please help me out because I am stuck in this issue.
    Thanks a lot,

Barbara, this may be tied to Strategy Group on the Material Master (I can't read enough into the detail)
Item Category determination + MRP Type for your schedule line type ties to a Sched. Line category(this you know)
New Rqmts class gets tied to a Rqmts Type
New Rqmts Type gets assigned to rqmts class
Strategy, assign the Rqmts Type to it
Strategy Group, Assign the Strategy  to it
MM02 [MRP3 view] strategy group should be the one that ties together (all the other ties
It may be something in this area that you need to trace through ?

  • Issue with Cash Management and liquidity forecast report

    Hello folks,
I am working with cash management and liquidity forecast reports. While running the report for Cash management, as I drill down to planning levels and induvidual GL accounts for the bank accounts, the figures for GL acounts in report does not tally with actual GL balances. As I drill down to last level, it shows the GL balance display which is different from the values in the report. Can anyone tell me why it does not pick up certain values. I find that certain document type "DZ" values are not picked up by the report. Any suggestions?
Also, I would like to know is there any way to cross check the values in Liquidity forecast report for sales orders, purchase orders and requisitons through any other report in MM and SD. Would appreciate if someone can respond to mu query.
    Thanks in advance,

  • MPS and MRP question

    Hi all,
There are two kinds of planning run (i.e. MPS and MRP). I have few questions on this.
1 - Do I need to setup two background jobs, one for MPS job, and another follow by MRP job, in the system?
2 - Can I just run MPS using MD40 (total MPS run) without perform MRP run (i.e. using any of the MD02)?
3 - Does MPS ONLY plan one level only? in another word, all the second level onward will require another separate MRP run to show all the subsequent level dependent requirement?
4 - if there is one FG, and it has 2nd level of semi-FG bom compenent, the semi-FG has another level of semi-FG and subseuqently Raw material level. In this kind of scenario with many level, it is good practise and it SHOULD use MPS to first plan for the first level  FG? and later subsquent level use MRP to plan? Am I correct?
    thanks.
    tuffy

    Hi,
    No,
You can MD40 and then MD02
Usually Only those materials which affect companies profit will be taken for MPS, hence few materials will be available for A importance, so you run level by level for MPS, rest will run under MD02, it depends on  the business process.
When running MRP using transaction MD02 and MD41, what the difference should be?
There is no difference in the processing logic as such. The only difference is that MPS only acts on materials with an MRP type relevant to MPS (e.g. M0, M1, etc...), and MRP acts on materials with an MRP type relevant to MRP (e.g. PD). How the materials are processed is exactly the same.
This functionality allows you to run MRP for 2 sets of materials separately (and with a different frequency).
For example, some businesses may do planning for their finished goods once per week, but would want to run MRP for their
components daily (although this is generally not necessary with SAP).  So, for this example, you would define all finished goods with an MRP type relevant for MPS, and all components with an MRP relevant.
Basically, MPS is a form of MRP that concentrates planning on parts or products that greatly influence the company profits or those that require critical resources.  Items marked as master schedule items can be finished goods, assemblies or raw materials.  These items are selected for separate MPS run that takes place before the MRP planning run.  MPS run is executed without any BOM explosion.  This is to allow the MRP controller to ensure that the master schedule items are correctly planned before any detailed MRP run take place.
As you can see, there are not too differences if you review MRP and MPS isolated, but lets think the BIG PICTURE, and can find the difference is just an procedure stuff:
1: RUN MPS (tcode: MD40). SAP do the planning run multilevel, also considering the  MRP materials.
2: Do the the necesary MANUAL changes in your MPS materials Planned Orders, remember that the planning run is  "JUST AN ADVICE" and never can replace the human decision. Here, you have your MPS Plan, and also the consumtion Plan (dependant requirements)
3: Then, with the dependant requirements OK (acording to MPS's Materials Planned Orders), do MRP RUN (tcode: MD01). The MRP run dont change the MPS plan.
The idea of MPS and MRP is to "separate" materials, in order you can run "masive process" in order. The algorith of mps and mrp are the same. Both work with the PlanTime Fences and Fixation types, rescheduling is the same,  and so on.
