MDB help  with regards to naming of topic?

I am preparing for SCBCD and the EJB3.0 book from oreilly fails to mention how to configure a MDB to listen to a specific topic?
Lets say messages are being sent to topic "myTopic" how sould I configure a MDB bean to lsiten for that topic?
Many thanks

No. I seem to be looking at the actual book here and the link you posted does not cover the crux of my issue which is:
"How do you configure the MDB to listen to a specific topic?"
The actual book (Have it in front of me) on page 268 of the 5th edition only defines the activationConfig attribute of the @MessageDriven() annotaion as follows:
@MessageDriven(activationConfig = {
                @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Que"),
                @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "messageSelector", propertyValue = "MesaageFormat='version3.4'"}),
                @ActivationConfig(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-Acknowledge"))Ok so we have a MDB that listens to messages from a QUE but which QUE? all Que's?
I also found this in EJB 3 in Action book:
@MessageDriven(
    name="ShippingRequestProcessor",
    activationConfig = {
        @ActivationConfigProperty(
            propertyName="destinationType",
            propertyValue="javax.jms.Queue"),
        @ActivationConfigProperty(
            propertyName="connectionFactoryJndiName",
            propertyValue="jms/QueueConnectionFactory"
        @ActivationConfigProperty(
            propertyName="destinationName",
            propertyValue="jms/ShippingRequestQueue")
)Here they use destinationName hich I think is what I am looking for but unsure on how this maps in xml? Jboss uses destination but shoudl it not be destination-name?

    ,Welcome to the Forums! I saw your post about the troubles you're having with setting custom sizes and having them stay permanently in your settings. I will do my best to help you. Please start with telling me what exact custom sizes, or settings you are selecting to use, and which program you are using. Also try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting your PC, and then reinstall the printer by running the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. Try your custom sizes again! Please check the specifications sheet for your LaserJet M126nw to make sure you are using supported sizes for this model: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125 and M126 Printer Series Product Specifications Good luck

  • Immediate help with regards to grouping and decoding

    Hi all
    I have got a problem recently where I was asked whether this can be done using a single SQL statement.
    The table data is from a flat file like this.
    SITE TOOL PROD TOOLPROD
    ABC DEN_01 15 DEN_01
    ABC DEN_01 15 DEN_01|01
    ABC DEN_01 15 DEN_01|02

    DEF DE_03 17 DE_03
    DEF DE_03 17 DE_03|07
    DEF DE_03 17 DE_03|08
    and the sumarized result set should look like this from above info i.e grouped by site,tool,prod columns and the last columns toolprod concatenated as shown below. There is lot of data like this and hardcoding cannot be done since there are millions of rows like this.

    Sys_connect_by_path is a 9i feature that provides the path from the root to the node in a hierarchical query. For an 8i workaround you can use the folloing hiearchy package by Solomon Yakobson. I know the package works in 8i, because that is what it was designed for and I used it in 8i, but I do not know if it will work in conjunction with the rest of the code, as I do not have 8i to test with anymore, and there were some restrictions as to what you could do with hierarchical queries in 8i. You may have to add some additional nesting of inline views or some such thing.

  • Help with regard to flex and flash

    Hi
    I am a newbie to GUI developement... I would like to create a GUI for my application which is in C for an android platform. I did get a few suggestions which says Adobe Flex is suitable for doing the same. But I am still not clear as to what would be the best tool I can pick on for doing the same. Will flash serve the purpose as well ? I need  a GUI with good animation and look and feel.
    Thank you !
    Reshma

    You can have an inner class. If you have problems using more than one class you are severly limiting yourself.
    Are you using JDK 1.4.2 or 1.5
    Try this code, you only need one java file.
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    public class SimpleExample {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            List list = new ArrayList(100);
            for (int n = 0; n < 100; n++) {
                list.add(new Data(n, n * n, n * n * n));
            // add 1 to j and k.
            for (int n = 0; n < 100; n++) {
                Data data = (Data) list.get(n);
                data.j++;
                data.k++;
            // print out all values.
            for (int n = 0; n < 100; n++) {
                System.out.println(n + ": " + list.get(n));
        public static class Data {
            int i, j, k;
            public Data(int i, int j, int k) {
                this.i = i;
                this.j = j;
                this.k = k;
            public Data(String text) {
                String[] nums = text.split(",");
                i = Integer.parseInt(nums[0]);
                j = Integer.parseInt(nums[1]);
                k = Integer.parseInt(nums[2]);
            public String toString() {
                return i + "," + j + "," + k;
    }

  • Help with online support

    I've 3rd generation iPod Touch, bought in September. Now the right headphone isn't working anymore, and i'm trying to follow the process described on https://selfsolve.apple.com/ , but on the last page i receive the error message:
    +"We're sorry, the transaction cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later"+

    While there's very little we fellow users here on the forum can do to  help with regarding a refusal by Adobe's servers to activate your license, it might be helpful if you'd define exactly what you mean by "not accepting license".  It's possible you're having a basic installation problem, and not a problem with activation.
    What error message do you get, when?
    markonius wrote:
    tech support was very little help
    I'd like to make a public editorial comment on what seems like a bad recent trend...
    Adobe really needs to continue to support the reactivation of prior versions!
    Activation is not a feature that helps the customer, it's a feature that protects Adobe.  It comes at an ongoing cost - both to the customer and to Adobe, and it's simply not acceptable for them to choose to stop paying that cost, and not allowing people to continue to use the software that they legitimately licensed.
    Providing technical support for an older version is something that's completely different than providing activation support.
    We fall a bit into gray area where someone has trouble installing an old version of Photoshop on a new computer, but if the problem is just that the user has exceeded the allotted activation count then there's no excuse for being put off by Adobe Customer Support.  The activation technology is capable of continuing, as it has, to ensure the user isn't running the software on too many computers.
    I really, really hope that I'm misinterpreting what sounds like a bad trend based on recent comments on this forum about Adobe Customer Support not supporting people in reactivating their older software after a failure or computer replacement.

    The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet.  Are you still using the same wireless router.  The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace.  For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio.   I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and do not speak for "Apple Inc."
    Some basic printer troubleshooting steps before worrying about a printer driver:
    1. Have you tried turning the printer off and back on?
    2A. Is the printer attached with a cable?
         If yes, have you tried unplugging and re-plugging both ends of the printer cable?
         If that does not help, can you test the printer with another cable?
    2B. If your printer is not connected to the computer with a cable, have you tried restarting your printer (assuming wireless connection)?
         Have you tried restarting your wireless router?
    3. Have you tried restarting your MacBook? (Be sure to save your work first.)
    4. Does the printer have ink? (Doesn't usually generate a 'communications error' though)
    5. Have you updated OS X or the program you're trying to print from recently?

    Hallo I can not restore my iPhone with the computer any more. Error 1015 comes up. Any help? Regards Christiane

    Your only hope is to place your phone in to DFU mode and restore it using iTunes (if iTunes allows you to).
    Search in Google "Force iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the instructions precisely.

    Hello Creative Cloud Illustrator Community:
    Help Please!
    This is with regard to creating a compound path:
    I have set some white type on a circle and then created outlines. I then placed the outlined type on a black stroked ring which I then selected "outlined stroke." I then put both "outlined" graphical elements on a separate solid bkg. (all 3 are on the same layer). Lastly, I then selected the top two elements and went to "make" a "compound path" (because I want the type to be the "holes" so I can see through to the background). However, the only effect I get is the white outlined type turning black (the same color as the black ring). What am i doing wrong? I can achieve the desired result with simple boxes but it won't work with a circular type path, a stroked ring and a solid bkg.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank You!

    Thanks for the response Jacob.
    Unfortunately, I tried your suggestion with no success. BTW, minus front is now Subtract. Apparently, by clicking option>subtract, it works in the same way as minus front. I tried this to no avail.
    Let me reiterate please.
    I have 3 graphic elements-all on the same layer:
    1. Background: Gold circle with a fill and no stroke.
    2. Middle: Black ring (Stroked) inside gold background circle.
    3. Top: White copy set on a circular type path and placed directly on top of middle black ring.
    Both the middle black ring and top type path HAVE BEEN CONVERTED TO OUTLINES.
    LASTLY, I select the Middle and Top, go to Compound Paths and choose "Make" and my white copy turns to black. Wrong!
    WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: I want the white copy to become HOLES, so the GOLD background shows through.
    Any solutions would be very much appreciated!

  • Help needed Regarding Project Server - 2013 Workflow

    Hi All,
    I am new to Project server 2013 Workflow, hence please help me regarding this. Pardon me if this question is too trivial.
    I have created a project type associated with a workflow and my workflow is as follows :
    So I am not doing anything here, I am just testing the workflow as mentioned by technet site : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn458865(v=office.15).aspx
    But it is mentioned that, after a minute or 2, the workflow state will change, also they have mentioned to press the Submit button.
    But in my case, the workflow is not moving to next stage [It just says 'The workflow is still processing - which never changes after hours] or I am getting the submit button (Submit button is disabled on the ribbon). Below is the state of my workflow :
    PS : I have made the user added to Portfolio managers group as well. But still I am having this same issue.
    The Workflow manager is installed properly, and it is working fine in case of List workflow. I am facing the issue only wrt Site workflow for Project server 2013.
    Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    shanky

    Hi Kiran,
    I am now facing issue while assigning a task to a person in the workflow.
    I am having a person named say 'John' , who is included in Project Manager as well as Portfolio Manager.
    And I am using a workflow as :
    Stage : Conceptual
    Assign a task to John (Task outcome to Variable: Outcome5 | Task ID to Variable: TaskID3 )
    Transition to stage
    Go to Approval
    But this is again giving issue as :
    Workflow Internal status : Cancelled
    Details: System.ApplicationException: HTTP 401 {"error":{"code":"-2147024891, System.UnauthorizedAccessException","message":{"lang":"en-US","value":"Access denied. You do not have
    permission to perform this action or access this resource."}}}
    PS : I have used the same Sharepoint admin account for 'Account Name' in ‘User Profile Sync' , Is this causing the issue? Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Shanky

  • Need help with overlapping divs!

    Hey everyone,
    I'm working on another website and I have come up against a common problem for newbie designers from what I hear, the dreaded overlapping div problem!  I have a 2 column fixed layout with a floating left div.  My left div has my nav bar and various images.  When my main content div has more content than the left floating div, the left div border does not reach the footer!  Until now, I have gotten by with just hitting return in my left column div until it reaches the footer.  I am sure it is not the right way to do it but it has worked so far.  The problem is, now one of the pages has the left column div overlapping onto the footer!  I did some reading and I am guessing it involves either the box properties or clear float which I am not too familiar with.
    Any advice would be stellar!  I know this is just another stumbling block to get over but I would feel so much better if I was doing it the right way.
    Here are screens of my issue,
    And here is my code for the page in question.

          <h5>What Is Radon?</h5>
          <p> Radon is a cancer causing radioactive gas. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. </p>
          <div id="apDiv1">
        <div align="center"><a href="http://www.epa.gov/radon/video/epa-epu.wmv"><img src="_images/psa_revised.jpg" alt="What Is Radon?" width="200" height="172" border="0" /></a></div></div></div>
        <p>If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, you're at high risk for developing lung cancer. Some scientific studies of radon exposure indicate that children may be more sensitive to radon. This may be due to their higher respiration rate and their rapidly dividing cells, which may be more vulnerable to radiation damage. </p>
    <p> </p>
        <h5>Why Is It Dangerous?</h5>
    <p> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) and the Surgeon General's Office have estimated that as many as 20,000 lung cancer deaths are caused each year by radon. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon-induced lung cancer costs the United States over $2 billion dollars per year in both direct and indirect health care costs.</p>
    <p>According to the US EPA, nearly 1 in 3 homes checked in seven states and on three Indian lands had screening levels over 4 pCi/L, the EPA's recommended action level for radon exposure.</p>
    <p>The alpha radiation emitted by radon is the same alpha radiation emitted by other alpha generating radiation sources such as plutonium.</p>
    <p>A family whose home has radon levels of 4 pCi/l is exposed to approximately 35 times as much radiation as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission would allow if that family was standing next to the fence of a radioactive waste site. (25 mrem limit, 800 mrem exposure)</p>
    <p> At the 4 pCi/l EPA action guideline level, radon carries approximately 1000 times the risk of death as any other EPA carcinogen. It is important to note that the action level is not a safe level, as there are no &quot;safe&quot; levels of radon gas.</p>
    <p> </p>
    <h5>How Does It Get Into My Home?</h5>
    <p> Radon is a radioactive gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.</p>
    <p> Radon from soil gas is the main cause of radon problems. Sometimes radon enters the home through well water. In a small number of homes, the building materials can give off radon, too. However, building materials rarely cause radon problems by themselves.</p>
    <p><strong>Radon gets in through:</strong></p>

      <li>Cavities inside walls</li>
      <li>Surrounding water supply</li>
    </ul>
    <p> </p>
    <h5>What Can I Do?</h5>
    <p> Radon is a national environmental health problem. Elevated radon levels have been discovered in every state. The US EPA estimates that as many as 8 million homes throughout the country have elevated levels of radon. Current state surveys show that 1 home in 5 has elevated radon levels.</p>
    <p> Testing is the only way to know your home's radon levels. There are no immediate symptoms that will alert you to the presence of radon. It typically takes years of exposure before any problems surface. </p>

    <h5>Radon Myths</h5>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Scientists are not sure that radon really is a problem.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Although some scientists dispute the precise number of deaths due to radon, all the major health organizations (like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Lung Association and the American Medical Association) agree with estimates that radon causes thousands of preventable lung cancer deaths every year. This is especially true among smokers, since the risk to smokers is much greater than to non-smokers.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon testing is difficult, time-consuming and expensive.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Radon testing is easy. You can test your home yourself or hire a qualified radon test company. Either approach takes only a small amount of time and effort.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Homes with radon problems can't be fixed.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> There are simple solutions to radon problems in homes. Hundreds of thousands of homeowners have already fixed radon problems in their homes. Most homes can be fixed for about the same cost as other common home repairs; check with one or more qualified mitigators. Call your <a href="http://www.epa.gov/radon/whereyoulive.html">state radon office</a> for help in identifying qualified mitigation contractors.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon affects only certain kinds of homes.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT: </em></strong>House construction can affect radon levels. However, radon can be a problem in homes of all types: old homes, new homes, drafty homes, insulated homes, homes with basements, and homes without basements. Local geology, construction materials, and how the home was built are among the factors that can affect radon levels in homes.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon is only a problem in certain parts of the country.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> High radon levels have been found in every state. Radon problems do vary from area to area, but the only way to know your radon level is to test.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> A neighbor's test result is a good indication of whether your home has a problem.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> It's not. Radon levels can vary greatly from home to home. The only way to know if your home has a radon problem is to test it.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Everyone should test their water for radon.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Although radon gets into some homes through water, it is important to first test the air in the home for radon. If your water comes from a public water supply that uses ground water, call your water supplier. If high radon levels are found and the home has a private well, call the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791 for information on testing your water.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> It's difficult to sell homes where radon problems have been discovered.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Where radon problems have been fixed, home sales have not been blocked or frustrated. The added protection is some times a good selling point.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> I've lived in my home for so long, it doesn't make sense to take action now.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT: </em></strong>You will reduce your risk of lung cancer when you reduce radon levels, even if you've lived with a radon problem for a long time.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Short-term tests can't be used for making a decision about whether to fix your home.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em> </strong>A short-term test, followed by a second short-term test* can be used to decide whether to fix your home. However, the closer the average of your two short-term tests is to 4 pCi/L, the less certain you can be about whether your year-round average is above or below that level. Keep in mind that radon levels below 4 pCi/L still pose some risk. Radon levels can be reduced in most homes to 2 pCi/L or below.</p>

    Please if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong please please let me know!  Since I am learning, I really want to get main concepts like this down so I am not constantly doing things the hard way!  Thank you!

    1) Regarding validation, what does it do?
    It validates by telling you where your code isn't er... valid.  Sometimes the results are a bit jumbled but if you work through them one at a time and revalidate, it's a good way to learn.  If you fix all of the errors shown up through the validator you should end up with standards compliant code.  Not necessarily the best, most efficient code you can write but at least it will be valid and it helps you spot errors that hours of code-staring never seems to find.
    I don't use the DW validation tool because I find the W3c one easier.
    The W3c validator has a check box of HTML Tidy which can tidy up your code but it's not always as easy to see what changes.
    2) I know the <p> tag for spacing is wrong, I could just feel it in my bones.  I just didn't know what else to do.  If I <br> all the way down won't the code be just as cluttered?
    You're obviously a born web coder!
    <br> will bloat your page if you use them to position elements.
    Here you need to get used to a) the Block Model and b) CSS positioning.  Once you crack these, CSS opens up for you and becomes a little more intuitive.
    if you have two elements on top of each other rather than push them apart with other elements you do it with padding and/or margin.  There are things to watch out for here namely, collapsing margins but if you start to read up on the above, you'll get it.
    I just thought of something.  If I add a div in main content, align it to the bottom center with CSS, use a line break between it and the text above, and add the image in question in the new div, will the spacing between the text and image work itself out?  I just really want to get out of the <p> bad habit.
    Keep thinking!  Web design is not like desktop publishing or print.  Elements on a HTML page don't behave like paragraphs on a page.  Once you begin to figure out why not it all gets a little easier.
    If you want an image at the bottom an element you put that at the end of the content in that element.  Then you need to ensure there is no margin, padding or border between the img element and the next element (your footer).  HTML elements come with some styling that is applied by default in the browser.  Many web developers include a rule like this:
    body {
    margin: 0;
    padding:0;
    This sets the margin and padding to zero of course and it's purpose is to override the defaults.  Some people advocate applying similar rules to all elements and if your interested try googling Eric Meyer who has written about it online.
    One of the key purposes of CSS is to take styling out of the page.  It's leaner, more efficient for the viewer and the coder and helps with site management.
    3) AP divs are weird, and I did only use as a last resort.
    See? You're a natural!
    The reason is I am confused by the float and clear float classes.  My left column is floated left and that element is what I was having problems understanding.  I tried to make new divs and float right but I screwed it all up.  I am sure I am just not applying the clear float in the right places.
    Getting the hang of floating is key to CSS positioning.  You use a float if you want two elements to sit side by side on the page.  It disrupts the "document flow."  Ordinarily HTML elements are rendered one after the other, on top of each other.  Floating an element takes it out of the document flow and allows other elements to occupy its space.  When you float an element it should always have a width.  If the element below it also has a width, that width has to be sufficiently narrow to allow it to occupy the space.  In short, floated elements can't be wider than their containing element.
    The clear property is used after a float to stop an element occupying the space left by a floated element.  It works but confuses the heck out of me!
    So that leads me to my final point.  I am a novice too!  I might have fluffed a few of the technical points above but it's pretty much there.

    Martin
