MDB Maximum concurrent beans for Weblogic on Linux

Has anyone noticed that the formula for determining maximum concurrent beans in use for MDBs for WL/Linux platform does not work. However, it does work for WL/Windows. The number of bean in use keeps growing (not bounded by either the number of worker threads or <max-beans-in-free-pool> settings. I have noticed the number crossing 1000 when <max-beans-in-free-pool> is set to only 40 and ThreadCount on the default execute Queue is only 100.

if your MDB is using the default Execute Queue with 100 threads, the max instances of the mdb should be 51.
I am surprised that this should be different on Win and Linux.
Are your beans getting destroyed due to exceptions being thrown from the onMessage method ? this would be reflected in the DestroyedBeansCount.
which version are you using ?
cheers,
Mihir

    Here's a good free e-book but without Netbean. It covers everything you would need to know about EJBs.

    The question is too vague to be answered. It's a design decision that needs more details.

  • Maximum concurrent task load for UCCE/ICM multimedia/media routing

    Is there a place In ICM to configure the maximum concurrent load for multimedia (such as email, chat) for MR? I'm trying to find out such a paremters but I can only find out the 'interruptable' settings for the media routing domain/media class. I thought to use MR to route email/chat there should be somewhere to decide how many tasks one agent can receive and that should be configurable. Anyone can help, please?
    Thanks.

    Thanks, Geoff. I understand we can set the load in EIM/WIM since I've done a few EIM/WIM projects and implemented such settings. However in a case where another third party application instead of EIM/WIM needs to be integrated with ICM over MR interface, do you mean we will need to implement that load settings on the third party application side? I'm trying to understand how it works here. I think that ICM router has to have the knowledge about the agent's current load and the number of load it's allowed for the channel to do an accurate routing. If that's not defined in ICM then it might be passed by over MR interface? I don't see how the third party chat/email application can manage that settings all by itself without ICM's involvement.
    So if the third party application  is passing the MAX load setting to ICM then is there a default value ICM can use if that value failed to be passed from outside?
    Thanks.

  • Best SQL Challenege: TSQL Query Maximum Concurrent Connections (Participants)

    Hi All,
    I have a table called dbo.PhoneCalls with below columns
    PhoneID |PhoneNumber| Callstarttime| CallEndtime|
    1 |111-111-1111|2013-04-01 05:13:03.000|2013-04-01 05:13:03.000
    1 |222-222-2222|2013-04-01 05:15:12.000|2013-04-01 05:16:52.000
    2 |333-333-3333|2013-04-01 05:17:29.000|2013-04-01 05:24:08.000
    2 |444-444-4444|2013-04-01 05:21:50.000|2013-04-01 05:22:31.000
    2 |555-555-5555|2013-04-01 05:22:41.000|2013-04-01 05:23:11.000
    2 |666-666-6666|2013-04-01 05:23:20.000|2013-04-01 05:23:46.000
    1. PhoneID is nothing but the participant in the call. PhoneID = 1 is twice from above. Which means 2 particpants (Same call
    )with 2 numbers with their callstarttime and callendtime. Similarly for PhoneID =2, there are 4 participants. And the list goes on for a day and then for a month.
    2. For example a phone call P1 with 2 participants is going on for a particular day. We should not consider the same phone
    call having 2 participants involved. So that the concurrency would be 2. We have to ignore that here.
    3. Only to be considered is other Phone calls for that day. Lets say P1 having call with 2 participants, P2 having some 4 participants
    which fall in the time period of P1. Then we should consider P1 and P2 the common period
    4. In order to find number of concurrent calls happened for a day basing on callstarttime and callendtime. What would be the
    query?
    5. Should consider the Timeperiod or the bucket with 1 hour as the period.
    6. A Phone Call P1, Phone Call P2, should have matching (common) time ( keeping all the scenarios) is required for this query.
    Result for Concurrent calls for a day should be like below. Should get all the concurrent connections happened for a particular
    day.
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|Concurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-01-2015|11 to 12|2
    Jan-02-2015|04 to 05|5
    Jan-02-2015|12 to 13|13
    ii) So once the above is achieved.
    Have to find the Maximum concurrent connections for day from the above.
    For below Maximum Concurrent connections are '3'
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|Concurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-01-2015|11 to 12|2
    Hence the Result for Maximum Concurrent Connections would be
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|MaxConcurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-02-2015|12 to 13|13

    Thanks George.
    That was fantastic.
    But
    But I don't want  the participants to be concurrent in the same call. And should consider the different call.
    Lets say Phone Call P1 having 2 participants , obviously they are concurrent according to that call.
    Only the Phone calls with more than one participant should match with other phone call with more than one participant.
    A Phone call with any number of participants not matching with the time slot of other phone call should be ignored.
    There might be a different call say P2, having some 3 participants at the same time or atleast fall in P1's time slot.
    So
    P1 --> 2 participants ---> start hour 10:00am  ; End Hour 12:00pm
    P2 --> 3 participants ---> start hour 10:30am ; End hour 12:30 pm
    P3 --> 4 participants ----> start hour 11:00am ; End hour 11:10am
    So the concurrency should ignore for P1 and should consider for P2 and P3. From above P2 having 3 participants, P3 having 4 participants. So the common time for all P1,P2,P3 is 11:00am - 11:10am.
    Concurrency should be
    Starthour    EndHour  ConConnections
    10:00am    11:00am   (2+3+4) ---> 2 for P1, 3 for P2, 4 for P3, because at exactly 11:00am there are 4 participants. So the time bucket or the slab for 1 hour will give us that concurrency at that particular slab. Except that independent
    participants to that call.
    So Result should be
    Start Hour     End Hour            Concurrent Connections
    10:00am       11:00am                      9
    11:00am       12:00pm                      9
    12:00pm       01:00pm                      5

  • My problem in Weblogic and Message Driven Bean for Topic

    Hello to all
    I used this page (http://www.ecomputercoach.com/index.php/component/content/article/90-weblogic-jms-queue-setup.html?showall=1)
    for setup JMS Server, Queue, Connection Factory on Weblogic Server
    and I created a Message Driven Bean ,I used those Queue , and all things was OK
    But I wanted to setup a Topic and use it in this manner
    I created a Topic like previous steps for setup Queue
    (http://www.ecomputercoach.com/index.php/component/content/article/90-weblogic-jms-queue-setup.html?showall=1)
    Except in Step 3  ,I selected Topic instead of Queue
    then I created a Message Driven Bean in JDeveloper , my Message Driven Bean is like this:
    @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jndi.testTopic")
    <p>
    public class aliJMS1_MessageDrivenEJBBean implements MessageListener {
        public void onMessage(Message message) {

    Could you try adding a activationconfig to the message-driven bean, for example,
    @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jndi.testTopic", activationConfig = {
            @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationName", propertyValue = "jndi.testTopic"),
            @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Topic")
    public class aliJMS1_MessageDrivenEJBBean implements MessageListener {

            }catch(Exception ex){
              ex.printStackTrace();

  • Possible to create a JAX-WS, session-bean-based webservice for WebLogic 10?

    All,
    sorry - but I'm going a bit crazy here. I have been unable to figure out the secret hand-shakes for developing a session-bean-based web service that will run properly under Weblogic 10.0. There are examples out there on how to create webservices that exists within a war file - but none that I can find that reside within a session bean (an ear file).
    I can't even figure out how to do with this Bea Workshop for WebLogic Platform 10.0! Is this possible? I can't find any examples anywhere on how to do this. I must be missing something...
    Does WebLogic 10.0 support web services within session beans? I've figured out how to do this with JBoss, Sun App Server, and Glassfish - but no luck so far with WebLogic.
    If anyone can please point me in the proper direction it would be very appreciated. My company likes WebLogic, but we have to be able to do this in order to continue using it.
    Thanks,
    -john

    Yeah - I've tried that. Everything builds fine - but when I deploy to WebLogic 10, I get the stack below. It looks like it is looking for the class examples.webservices.jaxws.jaxws.SayHello - but there isn't such a class in the example...
    Any thoughts? I'm completely stuck!

  • Oracle support for Weblogic 7 under LINUX

    Hi,
    Does anyone know what happened to oracle support in weblogic 7.0 for linux platform,
    as it seems that the drivers are not included? Are there any discussions on that
    topic anywhere?
    thanks.
    Zlatko

    It DOES appear that there is support for WebLogic jDriver for Oracle on Linux:
    see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/certifications/certifications/redhat_linux.html#39532
    The strange thing here is that, apparently, the Oracle drivers located @ lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoci38.so
    and lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoxa38.so are "Type 2" ODBC drivers which
    require an Oracle client to be installed on the WebLogic machine, but Oracle doesn't
    support installation of the client on RedHat 7.2, which is required (according
    BEA's doc) for installation of WebLogic 7.0. Can someone reconcile this apparent
    conflict?

  • BI 4.x : guideline for "Maximum Concurrent Jobs" in Adaptive Job Server

    Dear all,
    What is the guideline in BI 4.x for the property "Maximum Concurrent Jobs" in the Adaptive Job Server (eg in the Web Intelligence Scheduling Service)
    In the XI-versions it was 5 concurrent jobs per CPU.
    Is that guideline still applicable in BI 4.x ?
    Many thanks
    Hans

    Default value is same for BO 4.0 also. You can adjust based on your requirement.

  • Need to write start up scrits for weblogic admin server on Linux

    Hi,
    I am new to weblogic i have Installed wls1035 on Linux Created Managed servers,but i want write start up and stop scripts for weblogic admin server please let me know how to write.
    My weblogic server is Running on Linux..please help me its very urgent for me.....

    Put something like this into a startAll.py file (excluding the ---):
    startNodeManager(verbose='false',NodeManagerHome=localWlsHome + '/common/nodemanager',ListenPort=5556,ListenAddress=localhost)
    nmConnect('weblogic','password','localhost','5556','domain_name')
    nmStart('AdminServer','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmStart('my_server_1','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmStart('my_server_2','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmDisconnect()
    exit()
    source /path-to-domain-dir/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    $JAVA_HOME/bin/java weblogic.WLST startAll.py
    Similar for stop (stopAll.py):
    nmConnect('weblogic','password','localhost','5556','domain_name')
    nmKill('my_server_1')
    nmKill('my_server_2')
    nmKill('AdminServer')
    stopNodeManager()
    exit()
    source /path-to-domain-dir/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    $JAVA_HOME/bin/java weblogic.WLST stopAll.py
    You might have issues with the Nodemanager having an autogenerated username and password. That can be fixed like this:
    In the AdminServer console, click on Lock & Edit
    In the AdminServer console, go to <domain> -> Security -> General -> Advanced and update the Node Manager username and password to use the same values as the WebLogic server.
    In the AdminServer console, apply the changes.
    Start WLST: $WL_HOME/common/bin/wlst.sh
    Connect to the AdminServer: connect('weblogic','password','t3://<adminserver-hostname>:<adminserver-port>')
    Enroll: nmEnroll('/path-to-domain-dir')
    Exit WLST: CTRL^D
    You might also look into customizing the nodemanager's property file:
    Edit $WL_HOME/common/nodemanager/nodemanager.properties
    StopScriptEnabled=true
    CrashRecoveryEnabled=true
    StartScriptEnabled=true

  • Which version of Workshop to use with WebLogic Server 10.0 for 64-bit Linux

    I've downloaded and installed the 64-bit version of WebLogic Server for Linux. It is running on a 64-bit Xeon RHEL 5 machine with 64-bit Sun JVM.
    During the install, I selected WebLogic Server and Weblogic Workshop but it appears that Workshop was not installed. Apparently, only the Runtime for Workshop was installed. I'm not really sure what good that does for me.
    We need to use the Workshop IDE to develop apps. Is there a 10.0 version of Workshop for 64-bit Linux?

    Hi Anup,
    Maybe you should be a bit more specific about what you want to do. Coherence is just Java and has been supported WebLogic for years in the same way most other third-party Java libraries and APIs are. I first started using Coherence about four or five years ago with WebLogic 8.

  • Maximum concurrent call connections for our Call Manager v7.15

    Hi everyone,
    Hope you can help! I was just asked one question I should have known how to answer...
    We are using CM 7.15. Have 1 publisher and 1 subscriber. We have 2 pri T1 (24 slots).  One connects to 1 2821 Voice gateway and another one is connection to another 2821 voice gateway in another location. I do not think we use SIP trunk...but I am not sure if we are using mpcp or H323.... so how do I check which protocol I use?
    The most important question is... I would like to ask how I can find out what the maximum concurrent sessions of the call connections are? How do I find it out?
    Please help...thank you very much for your help.
    Takumi

    Hi Bobson Lam,
     in CUCM Administration > Device > Gateway, you have a list of configured Gateways ... in this list there is a column called 'Device Type', this column shows the 'H.323 Gateway' or the Gateway Model (for ex.: 2821) if it's MGCP.
     For Maximum Concurrent Sessions ... have you try RTMT (CUCM Administration > Administrations > Plugin > RTMT for Windows)? There are some System - Performance, that shows, for example, Call Active for H.323.
    Hope this helps.

    # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    # whole (the 'global environment').
    # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    # These directives also provide default values for the settings
    # of all virtual hosts.
    # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    # same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/opt/IBMIHS" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/opt/IBMIHS/logs/foo.log".
    ### Section 1: Global Environment
    # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache,
    # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it
    # can find its configuration files.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available
    # at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>);
    # you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.
    ServerRoot "/opt/IBMIHS"
    # The accept serialization lock file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK.
    #LockFile logs/accept.lock
    # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    # identification number when it starts.
    PidFile logs/httpd.pid
    # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out.
    Timeout 300
    # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than
    # one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate.
    KeepAlive On
    # MaxKeepAliveRequests: The maximum number of requests to allow
    # during a persistent connection. Set to 0 to allow an unlimited amount.
    # We recommend you leave this number high, for maximum performance.
    MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
    # KeepAliveTimeout: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from the
    # same client on the same connection.
    KeepAliveTimeout 10

    ### Section 2: 'Main' server configuration
    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
    # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
    # All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
    # in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
    # virtual host being defined.
    # If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run

    # suggested workaround is to create a user www and use that user.
    # NOTE that some kernels refuse to setgid(Group) or semctl(IPC_SET)

    ### Section 3: Virtual Hosts
    # VirtualHost: If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your
    # machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations
    # use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about
    # IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below.
    # Please see the documentation at
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/vhosts/>
    # for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.
    # You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host
    # configuration.
    # Use name-based virtual hosting.
