Mdd vs AGP, replacing one over other

Hi all
I'm debating on replacing one og my G4s. Is the MDD better than the AGP machine?
I know the MDD has better features but with the fan and rising temp issues I was leaning toward keeping my AGP. Please share your thoughts?
I have the following: AGP is dual 500mhz, MDD is a dual 1.0 ghz

So disconnect my external devices and reset PMU
Disconnect all but keyboard mouse and monitor. Run the machine that way, and see if the shutdown works properly.
Many times, an external hard drive will be the cause,and disconnecting it will fix the problem.
A printer or even modem can cause such problems,
If the machine won't shut down, it mightbe good to open Activity Monitor, and see if some process (like mdworker) is running and won't quit.
There may also be clues in Console/Logs/System logs as to error or waiting processes.
I would thoroughly investigate this aspect before the PMU reset, as the reset is a different troubleshooting attempt.
Just hold down PMU button for about three secs?
A single, precise push is all it takes. A second or two is fine.
DON'T press more than once, and make sure the machine is off.

It seems that you have to choose one or the other, keep iMAcc addresses or iPhone.

Indeed you can merge the address book using iCloud. You can find the info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3998. I am not sure if you can de-duplicate though.
If that doesn't work or you want more out of your address book, you can always try connex.io (I work for the company). It's a service that automatically syncs, deduplicates, cleans and updates your address book across many different devices and services. If you want to try it out, you can get a free trail version at www.connex.io.

Replace one itunes account with another

I have the itunes application downloaded on my laptop but i recently made another itunes account and i want the new one to be on the Itunes application. So i uninstalled the application thinking that if i downloaded it again it would ask me for an account. Except all it did was restore the old account. I am wondering if anyone knows how to replace one itunes account with another. If you know anything that can be useful comment.

Generally best to stick to one account if possible. More so once you get to iOS devices as managing app updates over multiple devices is a chore.

I duplicated a picture and now iPhoto (11) is cloning that picture replacing all the other photos and only when I click directly on them I can see the real picture! How can I solve the problem without losing any saved picture? Shall I re-install? Thanx

I duplicated a picture selecting CMD and D but, suddenly, iPhoto (latest version '11) started cloning that picture and replacing all the other photos with it.
Only when I click directly on one photo I can open it and see the real picture it is.
But the preview is always the duplicated one...
I tryed to duplicate another picture just to see if it turned out ok but the only changement was the duplicated picture!
I started repeating the second duplicated one instead of the previous one but my issue remained the same.
So, how can you help me to solve this problem without losing any saved picture?
Shall I re-install iPhoto completely?

As Larry says, restoring the back up is the fastest and best solution. Otherwise:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Replace one view with another with animation

I'm clearly not following some basic principle here so I'd appreciate some guidance.
My intentions is to create a (quiz type) app with several screens (I'm assuming each of them will be a view that I will create in the Interface builder). The goal is to let user advance from screen 1 to screen 2 then to screen 3, etc. by answering multiple choice questions (presented as buttons). So when one button is clicked the current screen would slide to the left and the next screen would slide in. This animation is very much similar to the default Navigation-type app behavior, but in my case I do not need the navigation bar on top (since user should not be able to go back). By studying the latter example, I was able to find the following code that slides view controlers one over another:

Looks like you've made a lot of progress since your original question, so I'll skip the response I might have written earlier, unless you think it would be helpful to go back there. To your current question, I guess I should first ask "What initial UITableView?". 4) Double-click on the newly added View icon to open the IB editor window and populate that window with the subviews you want, returning to RootViewController.h and .m to add IBOutlet properties and IBAction methods as needed. Once RootViewController.h is saved you can make the required connections to File's Owner in IB.
Here's an example of how to hide the nav bar and transition to the next view from an action method:

Is it possible to replace one preset effect with another withouth having to undo a prior preset effect?
When I used Aperture, holding down the Option key would allow me to replace one preset with another.

Why is it so difficult to replace one element in an array?

Maybe I am missing something but it seems overly complicated to replace one element in an array.
I have a 3 Col 15 row array. Each column represents a board of IO and each row is a specic IO location on the board.
I have 4 arrays each that vary in lenth that represent 4 different IO types (i.e. AO, DO, AI, DI). I want to people to write them one by one in order to allow a map to be stored as a constant. In that way if the end user decides to change some of the IO around on me it is easy.
However I am not seeing an easy way to write to one specific element. Replace supset will only allow me to call out either row or column.. not both (this makes no sence to me).
I hope someone can help.

You can certainly replace a single element in a 2D array and specify row and column. Attach the code you are having problems with.

Replacing one NIDAQPad-6016 by another

When replacing one NIDAQPad-6016 by another one it is not possible to take over the once installed DAQmx-Tasks. Why?

That's expected and normal behavior. As long as you don't remove the first DAQPad from MAX another DAQPad will be recognized as a different device and the driver assigns a new device ID (Dev2). You need to go to MAX and change the name if needed or you need to make your software try various device IDs until no error occurrs anymore.

I have this situation: our company needs to use one variable instead of another for certain amount of queries.
Is there some way to automatically replace one variable with another for a certain characteristic in big number of queries ( like 150 - 200 ) ? Doing this manually would take lots of time)

you could try (at your own risk) the following:
1. search the technical id (ELTUID) of your variable in table RSZELTDIR
2. see where this variable is used in table RSZELTXREF (by filling RSZELTDIR-ELTUIID in RSZELTXREF-TELTUID)
3. add similar entries for your new variable
4. delete the entries for the old variable (they're part of the key, so you can't simply "change" them)

I want to replace one of my older Airport Extremes with the new model. Any tips?

I have 2 older airport extreems that are connected by a network cable. They share the same Netrwork ID.
I want to replace one of them with the new model as I want to use the old router on another project.
Any tips out there for a no-issue switch?
Should the newer and faster Extreme be connected to the Modem or does it nt make a didfference?

use the new router as your primary router with the modem - this will be a factory install from the default configuration - as long as you use same network name password and type a password that you used for the express in bridge mode, you should be able to plug it in and have it work like before. just make sure that you configure everything individually and then power all devices down and repower each one individually starting with the modem then the router in the express and that should work

I think you should use CardLayout manager.
With CardLayout you can switch beetwen JPanels without removing or adding.

How can I edit several lines to cut or replace one word

I am trying to import a CD of an opera. When I put my CD in the reader, I get this (screen copy):
I wish to erase all the ocurrences of "Wagner: Parsifal - Act 1:" and keep the rest of the line (the part written in German). How can I do this in one procedure, without having to erase these words line by line.
If I want or replace them by other indexes (i.e. numbers) like in iWork's Numbers, how do I do in one procedure ?

Sir i'm using daq6251.But Sir before implimenting it to my final application now i'm just trying to achieve 1millisecond time interval for timer in a vary simple programe i mean at this time no hardware (daq device) is involved i,m just trying to achieve minimum time interval of 1millisecond.
