MDG-F Replication Timing

I am confused by the parameters (options) used in Edition and Change Request.
During Edition creation, there are three options we can pick and use to control as to when we want replication to occur.
option 1 - Manaully started after release of Edition
option 2 - On final approval of change request.
option 3 - Selected in each change request
However, during Change Request creation, it has only two option 1 and 2. Option 3 is not included there.
Then my question is - What option MDG-F will really go if I choose option 2 in Edition and choose option 1 in Change Request?
Would there be any document that shows the difference across these 3 options and configuration steps of each option?
Thanks,
LUO

Hi Luo,
it is correct that there are three options while definining the edition. The part you miss is that the option you select for your edition surely has some impacts on the change request. This is best explained with some examples:
Edition A defines option 1 - manually start after release of edition.  Each CR that you create for this edition will use exactly this option. In other words, the related selection field of the replication will be read-only. You cannot distribute the data immediately after the release of the CR.
Edition B defines option 2 - on finall approval of CR. Each CR that you create for this edition exactly use this option. In other words, the related selection field of the replication will be read-only. You will always distribute the data immediately after the release of the CR.
Edition C defines option 3 - selected in each CR. Each CR that you create in this edition will have an enabled replication timing field. You can decide on the level of the CR, if you want to replicate the data of the CR immediately or after the release of the edition.

    Hi all,
if I grouped GL account in Chart of Accounts, GL account in CoCo and cost center, cost center group, profit center, profit center group, etc) into one Edition (E1), then I released the edition (E1), will everything included in this edition be replicated into ECC SAP successfully? I understand the GL account related won't becasue it will only be replicated when the valid from date in Edition (E1) has arrived.
    Correct?
    Thanks,
    LUO

    Hi Luo
In cases where the target system does not support time dependency for the relevant business objects, schedule the Replication from Edition-Dependent Source to Time-Independent Target (USMD_EDITION_REPLICATE) report, on or shortly after the valid-from date or valid-from period of the changes. Running this report ensures the timely replication of changes to edition-based business objects belonging to a data model .

  • MDG-F - Replication model for Cost Center Group

    Hello
We are trying to create IDOC replication model for Cost center group IDOC_COSTG for data model 0G (MDG 7.0).
When trying to assign "Outbound Parameter" = SEND_DELTA_INFO against outbound implementation 1112, we are getting error message saying : "Entry 1112 SEND_DELTA_INFO does not exist in DRFC_PARO (check table)".
While checking table DRFC_PARO via SE16, it shows all the entries for 1012 (GL mast), 1102 (cost center) but it is missing entry for 1112 (cost center group).
What are we missing? How to generate entry in this check table DRFC_PARO? which step is creating this entry?
    Thanks
    Luo

    Hello Luo
You have to maintain this entry in following table -
Go to SM30. Give table name - DRFV_PARO and click on maintain. You will get a pop-up for outbound implementation. Give 1112 and proceed. Add the send_delta_info in the table, save it and then add it in DRF. Do add package_data so that you can send multiple cost centers in your target system.

  • MDG - Data Replication to Legacy and ECC

    Hello All,
We are implementing MDG-M on a separate hub. Data Model is extended to support both ECC and Legacy system.
Material Master Replication has two scenarios based on the two different CR types. Requester will decide whether or not material is required for the Legacy System.
CR #1 Materials will only be replicated to ECC: It will be peer-to-peer.
CR #2 Materials will be replicated to ECC and Legacy:
ECC replication will be peer-to-peer. Only SAP relevant content will be replicated.
However, Legacy replication has to be via SAP PI. Some of the SAP fields such as Material Number, Lab Office will be mapped to Legacy Fields. There are also some custom fields which will be only replicated to Legacy System.
I appreciate if you can help me to figure out how to setup the Replication Model.

  • Replication timing

    Hi,
I wish to change my system times for all my master and replicas. I was wondering if replication will be affected as the csn does include a timestamp right?
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    Leon

I'm not sure but I would say if you don't set the time back then you don't have a problem.
I would suggest anyway to use xntpd to synchronize time.
If you are really afraid and need to change back time, say for one hour, then stop replication and updates for one hour, set time back and then re-enable everything....

  • MDG-F 7.0 future planned data replication

    Hello,
From what I have learned, valid from date in Edition can be used to control of timing of the data replication. In my data prototype in MDG-F 7.0, it is clear that GL change request will go with that. In other words, if the valid from date =August 1, 2014 (today=07/15/2014), GL change request won't come into ECC until August 1 2014 is arrived. it is behaved this way regardless of the choise of replication timing I have made.
Will the same behavior occur to cost center change request and profit center change request?
    Thanks,
    Luo

    Hello Luo
Yes you can do that but the real problem I faced is that in the edition screen you get the list of all the editions. Users get confused with this.
Best way is to connect your DEV / Quality systems with resp MDG Dev and Quality. Use automatic replication. Perform the testings in each system. Once you get the approval you can create master data in production a day before go-live. This is working well till now in my case.

  • Regarding Active directory configuration

We have one PDC and one backup PDC and 272 ADC in our Organization .all server will communicate to PDC for replication as per the design. we are facing the the issue in replication domain dns zone and forest dns zone is not replicating getting 1722 error.
we have created separate site link for all site and we put pdc site and local site in the site link. what is the best practice  for site link and cost and replication timing for 272 ADC from PDC.

    HI Amy,
please find the attached replication report here domain partition is showing as never replicated and domain dns zone and forward DNS zone replication failed with 1722 error, please suggest on the same.

  • Upgrades in Full Infrastructure Mode

    Hi there
I've been considering the Upgrade scenario for an application. To my knowledge this was handled better in App-V 4.6 but I would be very happy to be corrected. My question comes in 2 scenarios.
    Scenario A:
We have an application (EG: Chrome v30). The logged on user (or another user) is using that application in their shared VDI session when I add Chrome v31 to the App-V Management Server and publish it.
I want to be able to have that user close their app, re-launch the shortcut and have the new version automatically. Is this possible? All of my testing would indicate that they would need to logoff/logon in order for this to happen properly. I can't find any
MS documentation that it is possible. And certainly not without the logoff action. I (The customer) really wants instantaneous upgrades. :)
    Scenario B:
I have a shared desktop VDI environment. I publish app-v apps using full App-V infrastrcture. I upgrade an application on the backend.
    - What is the fastsest way of getting the apps to the users? (Ideally it's instantaneous but because of AD replication timing this will be difficult)
I would need to trigger both a Publishing server refresh (default timeout is 600 seconds so don't want to go beyond that). Should I run a Sync-AppVPublishingServer command on my management server? And then trigger a client refresh by running TaskSched remotely
    for all VDI hosts?
(I am *ideally* looking to rid us of the Logoff/Logon action and speed up the delivery)
    Thanks
    David Murphy

    Hi,
    Scenario A:
This is possible. From a timing perspective, that mainly depends on the following points:
your Publishing Server refresh interval (when the Publishing Server publishes the new information)
The interval when your Client synchronizes with the Publishing Server. You can enforce that either manually (Sync-AppvPublishingServer), with the App-V Client UI (it's an additional App-V package you can deploy) or you can set a refresh interval so
that Client synchronizes with the Server periodically. Look for UserRefreshInterval
    and GlobalRefreshInterval: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj687745.aspx
The old version of the app only gets replaced by the new version when the old version isn't "in use" anymore. You could enforce closing the app by powershell cmdlet.
    Scenario B:
You run Sync-AppVPublishingServer on the client and not on the server. This command checks if there is a change required on the client. How do you deploy your apps, globally (per computer) or per user? Note that an application doesn't get updated
when it's still in use. So when you want to update an app, it only gets updated when the older version isn't in use anymore. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to update a version during the day when users work with the app. If that's your use case, then you
could enforce the update by app-v cmdlets (that would enforce closing the app for everyone).

  • Data replication monitoring on MDG flex mode objects with Information Steward

    Hi,
I am exploring different options available to setup data replication monitors on SAP MDG custom objects(flex mode). Basically my requirement is to setup rules in SAP Information steward which identifies if there are any missing records or mismatch between the data in MDG system and the replicated systems.
The challenge I am facing is that the tables generated by MDG framework for flex mode are not consistent and they keep changing if we change some key information in the MDG data model. Also the generated tables are not the same in each environment (like development, quality, production). Appreciate if anybody can provide suggestions on handling the MDG generated tables in SAP Information Steward.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Goutham

    Hi Abdullah,
Thanks for your reply. I cannot write any ABAP code in Information Steward. As you mentioned I can always use MDG API to pull the active data from MDG but here I can only give the table names.
The other option as you mentioned, using DRF I can replicate the data in flat files to Information steward, but it is not making sense as I am validating with replicated data and not with actual data available in MDG. Other point is I don't think it is a good idea to replicate all the records periodically.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Replication issue in MDG-S

    Hello Experts,
We are trying to do an MDG implementation for Vendor master data. We are using the Data Model BP for this. Initially we have done all the configurations for master data BP. Later since we wanted the Master Data to be Vendor, we changed the configurations to Vendor instead of BP. Now we are facing issues in replication of Vendor master into the ECC system. MDG and ECC reside in the same system. We see the Access Class 'CL_MDG_BS_SUPPL_TYP2CHK_ACCESS' assigned in the Reuse area. We are a lot confused between the BP settings and Vendor master data settings. We have got the following queries, request your reply
              1. Whatever configuration that are given in the config guide for Vendor we have done that. Is there anything else needed to be done for the config?
              2. Do we require to do UIBB setting changes for Vendor and BP separately?
              3. Is replication required for Vendor Master Data?
              4. Does the reuse area Access class required to be changed for Vendor Master?
    Kind Regards,
    Thamizharasi N

              1. Whatever configuration that are given in the config guide for Vendor we have done that. Is there anything else needed to be done for the config?
you got the check the following
    General BP setting.
    Supplier settings
CVI integration setting under each node of MDGIMG
              2. Do we require to do UIBB setting changes for Vendor and BP separately?
Check out the changes mention in Config.doc if change needs to done do it.
              3. Is replication required for Vendor Master Data?
Replication of data depends on your business requirement whether you need to create them in SRM or visa-versa.
              4. Does the reuse area Access class required to be changed for Vendor Master?
currently we are using the access class with no issue ,hence continue using it if no issue

  • MDG Replication model required for MDGF with Co-Deployment?

    Hi MDGF experts,
We are implementing MDGF 6.1 and I am not sure if I have to set up a replication model if MDG should send to the same client(Co-Deploy) and if we need to perform Key mapping if we use the standard OG data model.
In another document I read that you still have to setup Replication model for MDGF if you post to the same client. http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6043b83f-1a37-3110-cd8e-f2dabb672019?QuickLink=index&… but this document is for MDG 7.
If, I do indeed have to setup Replication model do I use Replication via Idoc, services, RFC?
Your help will be highly appreciated
    Thanks and best regards
    Riaan

    Hi Abdullah,
Thanks for the document. In the document it describes settings for HUB and ECC client. To me it looks like you have to create 2 profiles for end to end communication for HUB and target. Thus if in my instance I want to replicate in the same client do I still have to setup 1 profile as hub and a second profile for ECC on the same client or do I use the same profile and add all the target and hub services definitions in the same profile or only the target system settings.
Also what do I do about integration scenario configuration in the MDG hub system and integration scenario configuration in the MDG target system or do I only have to do it for target system seeing in my instance it is the same system.
    Thanks and best regards

  • Replication of Hierarchies to target systems in MDG

  • MDG-F 7.0 Data Replication using SOA

    Hello,
There has been a kind of issue since MDG-F 7.0 is started. The issue is related to data replication results. Once master record data are successfully replicated over into ECC SAP 6.0, ECC is not sending anythhing back in to MDG-F for status update. We intended to put some custom development work done to fill the gap using email notification but we don't have a clear picture of what needs to be done.
Requirement is that once master data is successfully or unsuccessfully updated in ECC, we want MDG-F to generate an email notiication to tell the requester of what happens and we want the status to be updated by master record 1, 2, 3.. by change request 1, 2, 3, by Edition.
    Any thought?
    Thanks,
    LUO

    Hello Luo
You can configure the custom email notification after successful update of master data in ECC.
MDG-M: How To Send an Email Notification to the Requestor at Time of Material Activation
Another way out is - since you are using SOA, you can send the message back to receiver system. Check with your PI consultant. You can configure the messages after successful data update.

  • MDG-F Data replication for CCH using IDOC

    Hi
Can anyone explains differance between Cost Center Hierarchy and Cost Center Group in MDG? As per my KX CCH in MDG is Alternative CCH in ECC not Standard CCH in ECC as it is created in Customization for Controlling Are.We can able to create alternative CCH in MDG with single processing also but when trying to replicate in ECC
SLG1 logs says as per below
Here it says CCH uses SOA but we maintained IDOC,Is CCH replication is not possible through IDOC with message type COGRP1.
Secondally we maintained ZG replication model but it says DIRECTLY replication Model . Any Clue?
Also how to assign MDG alternative hierarchy to ECC Standard Hierarchy node in MDG or we have to do it in KSH2 only from ECC side?

  • Timing of Session replication

    hi,
In our application we use a different thread to prefetch some kind of data
to the HttpSession. This prefetching is done after the user recieved his
              response.
We noticed that the Session Replication does not replicate data that was not
placed on the session between the time of Request and Response of the user.
Does anyone know, if the Replication manager replicates the data to the
secondary machine after the user gets his response, and does data that is
put in the session after this time is not replicated, if so, can I change
              this behaviour?
              thanks

Session replication is not enabled by default.
To turn on session replication you would need to add a parameter in weblogic.xml (of your webApp) PersistentStoreType to "replicated"
By default session is "in memory" (no replication)
