Try a reset, which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.

  • MDM Adapter supporting PI 7.0 released with MDM 7.1

    Hi,
I have imported the MDM adapter which supports PI 7.0 and is released with MDM7.1 to facilitate Syndication/Import of data from/to MDM and configured the sender channel in PI for the same to fetch the file from the outbound port of MDM server.
I observe that when file is syndicated to outbound port and is ready for PI processing, the adapter do not instantly fetch the file from outbound port even for hours but when i make a dummy change in Communication channel and again activate the same then it fetches the file and processes it in PI but after that if any other file is syndicated in the outbound port i have to again manually make a dummy change and activate it in PI and so on.
I found one Sap Note 1452509 which is relevant to this but want to know if the settings mentioned in SAP note are to be made on MDM server or PI and if there is any other setting which i have to make in channel or in MDM so that file is processed instantly/near real time manner.
    I am on PI7.0
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hey Amit,
If you are talking about "Restart the MDM ADAPTER java component" then it will be done on PI server. MDM system does not have any java component.
This is a common error which we also faced, it happens often right after the restart of MDM server.
I have seen cases where when MDM server was restarted, we had to come to PI and restart the MDM Adapter services to make Sender MDM Adapter pick files from Ready folder.
    >>if there is any other setting which i have to make in channel or in MDM
    No other settings are required
    Thanks

  • MDM adapter Non-XML Inbound Messaging

    Hi all,
I have a scenario where I transport a csv file via PI (NW711_05_REL) to MDM using the File adapter (sender) and MDM adapter 7.1 7.1 (receiver).
The message is sent through to the MDM port fine, and it seems to choose xml as default file type and PI MSG ID as file name.
This results in an xml file with csv content.
As I want to put the file on the port with its original file type (csv) and name, I need to tweak the MDM adapter a bit. For this I have tried to find MDM specific modules, but have been unable to do so.
I have found a u201Cwork aroundu201D by using u201CSet Adapter Specific Message Attributeu201D on the sender file adapter u2013 described on help.sap.com
Configuring the sender file adapter as described in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/48/9854884d3217cee10000000a421937/content.htm i am able to set the "FileName" attribute in dynamic configuration.
This enables me to get some of the desired effect, as the file on the MDM port is now a csv file u2013 half way there!! However the file name remains PI MSG ID...
Am I missing something here or is the adapter not working as intended? I donu2019t understand why it should only use the file type when the entire filename and type is there. I would assume that the entire filename and extension would be used in the MDM port.
I have tried achieving the desired result by using the "AF_Modules/DynamicConfigurationBean" on a JMS adapter, but the result is the same.
I would like to avoid developing my own custom module to handle this, as it seems like it should be possible to handle in a more standard way.
I hope someone out there can help me out, and hope to see a lot of good replies.
    Best Regards,
    Jesper

have you gone thur these settings?
    Non-XML Inbound Messaging
When the backend system uses the PI File Adapter sender as the communication channel to deliver messages to the PI server, and the receiving MDM channel corresponds to an inbound MDM port of type other than XML (for example, Flat text file), then you must enable the File Adapter Specific Message Attribute named File Name as follows:
           1.      Edit the corresponding File Adapter sender communication channel.
           2.      In the Advanced tab, choose Set Adapter Specific Message Attribute.
           3.      Choose the File Name.
           4.      Save and activate the changes.

Is there an issue with our receiver communication channel and the MDM Access Parameters? We are using the Port code and Remote System code provided by the MDM team.
    Anyone experience this same issue?

We are no longer seeing the MDM Port Not found error, but we are still seeing the UnknownServer error. Looking at RWB Message Monitoring it appears that the message is successfully sent to the MDM server, but nothing is coming into the Ready folder. Any ideas on where the message is going, and why it is not showing up in the Ready folder?

  • Issue with Receiver MDM Adapter - Integrated Configuration

    Hi Experts,
My scenario is I need to pick a file from PI Directory and push it into MDM Ready folder.
The source file structure is ~ delimiter text file and at the receiving end , I need to push the same file as it is.
At the receiving side I have used MDM Adapter.
The issue at receiving side is:
I am receiving file with .xml extension with the same content as of source file but my requirement is .txt file.
    Please advise on this.
I am using SAP PI 7.31.
P.S.- I have not used FTP at the receiver side due to some other concerns.
    Thanks,
    Vivek Jain

    Hi Amit,
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes we had tested successfully via SOAP UI as well (forgot to mention that). We are getting back the expected response in SOAP UI without using any credentials. We got the same response when we tested it through OS commands from PI server.
The WS is hosted by the target system and they haven't maintained any credentials at their end. So when PI is trying to access, we don't need to provide any credentials. My question is, whether the target system should keep any credentials to send the synchronous response back to PI (java stack). We have tried that as well but since there aren't any logs, we are unable to verify whether the credentials are coming correctly.
The service interfaces are correct and PI configuration are OK. I will try the XPI inspector for logs as you have suggested.
    Thanks
    Justin

  • MDM Adapter dynamic configuration

    Hi All,
The scenario is, PI picks up a file from ECC using sender File adapter and sends it to different MDM ports using the Receiver MDM adapter.
The only difference in the different receiver MDM communication channels sending the data to different ports is the
    MDM Access Parameters-->Port Code.
So we have decided to use Dynamic Configuration of the MDM communication Channel to avoid using many communication channels.
Please help with the steps/ blogs that I can follow to do the above
    Thanks,

  • Deployment of MDM Adapter For PI 7.1

    Hi,
I deployed MDM Adapter (MDMADAPTER01_5-10005240.SCA ) in PI 7.1 Server through JSPM and the deployment has been completed successfully. But when i tried to create a communication channel, i am not able to see the MDM Adapter in the Adapter type selection box, so i am struck in this step and not able to proceed further.
Please let me know, is there any stpes to be performed after deploying the MDM Adapter in PI.
    Regards,

    Hi,
....And there is MDM Adapter 7.1 available in SMP, when i click on SAP MDM, it is giving "no data available".....
Usually, this is caused by the S-number that you used to login to SMP, does not have authorization to view the data..
By the way, coud you please tell me the path ?

    Hi all,
how to import seeburger adapter and mdm adapter in sap pi 7.3

    Hello
To import the Seeburger adapters, follow the instructions in the Master Installation guide and the individual guides for each of the adapters. These are available with the Seeburger software downloads.
Regarding the MDM adapter, this is the wrong forum for that question. Try the MDM forum (but first, try searching the forum as this is a very basic question).

  • MDM Adapter query

    Hi Experts,
My scenario is MDM to JMS(MQ). MDM side sends file in a MDM adapter, now the problem lies in the part that PI has to send files based upon timestamp order and syndicate them to Mainframe. Now, for File Adapter there are options in which we can do so but I do not have an idea how it can be done in a MDM adapter.
    Please let me know.

  • Capturing Errors in Acknowledgements in MDM adapter - PI7.11

    Hi Experts
I am working on a File to MDMadapter in PI 7.11 , I am sending a request to MDM adapter and receiving the acknowledgements back to PI, but in failed status.  I have configure the Alerts to capture the erros in runtime work bench.
However whenever there is a failure on the Acknowledgements the alerts are not being sent. How can  I capture the errors in Acknowledgements from MDM adapter.
    Thanks
    PR

    Hi PR,
can you tell us what exactly do you mean by receiving acknowlegdements in error status?
Do you mean you there was an ackowledgement from MDM saying that the load was un-succesful?
Or do you mean there was an acknowledgement which went into failed status, because there was no configuration done in PI to handle that acknowledgement?
If you mean 2nd point, then you should have a scenario to handle the acknowledgements and then have the alerts configured the normal way.
    Best Regards,
    Ravi

  • MDM adapter : what is meant by the database server ?

    Hi all,
we are testing MDM adapter on PI 7.1 (no eHp). The adapter config requires an MDM server but separately a database server entry as well.
Does anybody have a working MDM adapter ? if so, what did you fill in in the "database server"
parameter of the adapter ? is it a URL ? JDBC name ? JNDI name ? IP address ? and to which database ? Í'm assuming the database of the MDM server, but that one is installed on the MDM server
(for which we configured an IP address in the "mdm server" field).
additionally, can somebody explain the reason for that separate Database config parameter ?
I have found no explanations in the documentation so far.
