MDM DB Views - Can we create in SP08?

MDM DB Views - Can we create in MDM 7.1 SP08? Please share the steps to be followed for this.

Hi Ganga,
DB Views is not part of the standard shipment of 7.1. However it could be provided to customers by an SAP consultant on a project basis.
DB Views in SP08 aren't officially supported, you can however generate the views using a standalone java utility described in SAP Note 1556213, again please note that since It is not part of the official released MDM product it will not be supported by SAP. No enhancements or bug support will be given so my recommendation would be to upgrade to SP10+.

Smart View - can't create private connection

Hi,
I'm trying to establish a private connection with SmartView to Essbase 11.1.2.0. Upon entering the URL (http://myhost.13080/aps/SmartView) I get to the next dialog displaying an empty server node upon clicking '+'!
I've seen others running into the same issue in this forum but can't find the right solution for me. Have to say that I'm anything but an expert in this field, so I may be leaving out things.
Here's what works:
Essbase server is up and running. Administration Services Control works. Could create application. http://demo.us.oracle.com:13080/aps/APS comes back with "Hyperion Provider Services".

Hi,
Please check your access first.
go to Native directory and check for the user name and then see the groups that you are assigned to.
For those groups i would suggest to check the provisioning and let me know.
Also i would suggest you to Unregister Smartview addin and then register and see if it works.

Can this UI rendering can be created in DynPro?

I would like to create the following UI:
A table which will contain X Rows.
Each row has a title and a liitle triangle at it's side. Pressing this triangle will open Y Rows, pressing the triangle again will hide these rows and show the title again.
I know this view can be created in .NET environment, my question is if it can also be created using the DynPro UI tools.

u can do that using a UIElement in Table.
in table uielement Insert MasterColumn -> TreeByNestingTableColumns.
create a node that should contain a recursive node.
now in TreeByNestingTableColumns property, map the necessary fields like :
childrenLoaded - tells if the children are loaded.
expanded - if the node is expanded.
isLeaf - whether its the last node.
with the value attributes in value node.
now create an event and map it to onLoadChildren property. and include a parameter of type NodeElement in the onActionEvent()
eg: public void onActionTestLoad(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, com.satyam.treetable.wdp.IPrivateTreeTableView.ITestElement element )
populate the table with initial values by creating node elements of the node in doInit() or supplyFuction().
the triangles that u where talking about are created automatically.
onclicking the triangle onLoadChildren is called. create node elements and add it to the invoking element.
now the sub nodes are populated under this invoking element. clicking on the triagle helps you to expand and collapse the subnodes.
write this code in "wdDoModifyView()"

Can't create data analysis views in windows 7/project server 2007

In Project Server 2007, when trying to create a new Data Analysis view or edit an existing one, we get the following error: "An error was encountered in loading the page". Using the F12 developer tools, I tracked it down to the following line:
"cn = new ActiveXObject("ADODB.Connection"), and in javascript the more specific error is "Automation server can't create object".
I assumed it was a browser permissions issue, and so I ensured the site is in trusted sites, and set the security level to low, but the same error is still occurring.
This error only occurs for users who are on Windows 7. This page works fine for users on Vista. The Windows 7 box has IE 9, the Vista box has IE 7.
Is Project Server 2007 supported in Windows 7/IE 9? Is there another security setting to look for?
edit: I have also checked the registry on the client and confirmed that adodb.connection is registered, and the dll exists.

Hi Mike,
If you refer to
this link, IE9 is supported by PS2007. Anyway, in the F12 developer tool, try to set the default browser to IE8. Also add the PWA url to the compatibility site settings in IE.

How can I view my photos in "Events" like in iPhoto? How can I create events? I have 55,000 photos and 1700 events so the only way I can possibly manage my photos is using events that are one slide in size.

I have 55,000 images organized into about 1700 events. The only reasonable way to view my library is using events in iPhoto where each event has one image That still leaves 1700 images to sort through but that is a lot easier than 55,000 images. In the side bar is a folder with "iPhoto Events" but those views still show all of the slides. How can I create events and view my photos as events as in iPhoto? Events are critical for large libraries and has been my primary way to sort images.

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) . I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha! I should have paid attention and read between the lines! My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do! I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy. I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events) ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

Do you want static screen captures or motion video of slides as titles, bullet points, and the like are presented?
Run the Keynote slide presentation in full-screen mode, then...
Static full-screen captures - use Command+Shift+3.
Static partial-screen captures - use Command+Shift+4 and use cursor to select the area of the screen to capture.
If you want motion video as builds occur, why not use Keynote's built-in Share, Export function?
(I'm on iLife '09.)
Also understand that the default slide format for Keynote is 1024x768, not full-screen MacBook 1280x800 screen size, so you'll have wide black borders unless you change the default size or crop the finished screen captures.

As far as I tested it, it is not possible either with PS2010. The URL only contains the PDP name and the projUID.

A view is a stored query. It gets executed at run time. A view does not occupy any physical space in the database (other than the insignificant amount of space required to store the query in the data dictionary).
A materialized view actually materializes the results of a query in a separate table structure, so it consumes physical space in the database. It also has to be refreshed at some interval, either synchronously with DML or asynchronously on a set interval.

you have not mentioned where do u want the " I " information button ,
1. If u want for a report , u can get the information button on selection-screen only .
if u goto se38 on the mail screen u will find a radio button for documentaion ,
when u select it and click 'create' or 'change' , an editor will open and u can document anything there ....
2. Or specify where u want info button .

Hello!
Can I create constraints "Primary key - Foreign key" on materialized views like on tables?
My purpose - is to make DB schema "COPY" with set of materialized views or tables, which take data from time to time from other tables situated.into another schema "ORIGINAL".
Also - I want to use reporting tool, like Crystal Reports, to make nice reports from schema "COPY". To make nice reports, I need primary-foreign relationships between materialized views or tables in schema "COPY".
Is it possible to use materialized views?
Or I should use only tables to get such result?
