MDM Extractor problem

Dear MDM Specialists,
I am unable to find the std MDMGX extractor config. files for Vendor & Customer.
Where can I find them ?
Also Is there anything special to be considered while downloading fixed values from Domains from ECC 6.0 using MDMGX.
I tried giving the Domain name in the Table Name option in MDMGX and tried the extraction ( unique code ) .I filled the following fields :
CLIENT
SYSTEM TYPE
OBJECT TYPE
MDM PORTCODE
TABLE NAME = domain name ( with fixed values )
Process level = 0
I want to download the data to my local pc.
When I extract I get the following error messages :
Invalid customizing entry for domain DOMAINNAME
Invalid customizing entry for domain DOMAINNAME

Hi,
the MDMGX configuration for customer and vendors are available on SMP in the business content packages (where you can find the repositories and import/syndication maps).

How I see and change this server user ? As scenario is R/3>PI>MDM.
You need to look into your receiver Communication channel in Integration Directory (Integration Builder) where you have settings for defining MDM Server, Repository , Repository User and Password , Port Code of the Outbound MDM port etc.

There is no Server User ID but it is Repository User and Password along with other parameters in Communication channel.
Note: Make Sure that your MDM Import Server is also running.

SAP MDM Import Problems with Oracle

Hi,
I've installed the MDM 5.5 today in my system landscape. Server and Tools are all installed, no problem.
After importing data from MSAccess-databases, XML-sheets and excel-sheets, i tried to import data from a oracle-database. But the ImportManager couldn't establish a connection to the dbms.
Probably i got the wrong configuration values in the "connect to source" dialog.
DBMS Server: 192.168. *. * //Server ip where Oracle is installed
Database: addressesdb
User: * //has all rights
Password: * //verified it
Maybe somebody can help and tell me whats wrong. Do I have to add a port or complete Database URL?
I didn't find an example in the Import Manager Reference Guide.

I'm having the same problem as Andreas. I can connect to a specific Oracle database using several different client applications, but get the same errors Andreas did when attempting to connect via MDM Import Manager.
I also tried using the ODBC connector, but that has been just as fruitless. I have a dsn file that I use to connect to the above Oracle database from other client apps, but MDM IM gives the following error message when I ty to connect:
Login Error:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Message]Data source not found and no default driver specified.
I do not get this error in any other client apps. I tried both with and without the .dsn extentsion. I also tried giving the full path to the dsn file, but then I get a "source name too long" message.
Has anyone else successfully imported from Oracle -- either directly or through an ODBC connection?

BW Extractors Problem - Source System Is Incorrect

Hello,
I performed a homogeneous system copy of our BW system from our Production BW system to the Development BW system!
But now I´m with a problem regarding the extractors... when I go to transaction RSA1, I was trying to replicate data in a BWD extractor but it gives me an error. The problem is the Source Client that is not correct, it points to our ERP Production system (P70 client 100) but it should be points to the ERP Test/Quality system (T70).
When I try to perform a "Replicate Metada" it show me the following error:
Error during the retrieval of the logon data stored in secure storage
Can you help me please, how can I correct this situation?! How can I Change the Source System?

HI Samid,
Please have a look at SAP Note 886102 - System Landscape Copy for SAP NetWeaver BW. I think that Scenario B3 is relevant in your situation. Apparently some of the actions are not executed, e.g. Step 6.7 (rename of logical system using t/code BDLS).
Also note that nowadays there is Post-Copy Automation (PCA). Please refer to 1707321 - BW System Copy: Post Copy Automation (BW-PCA).

0PERSON_ATTR Extractor problem

Hi,
I am facing problem in running the extractor for 0PERSON_ATTR.
When i run it in RSA3 in the source system.It retrieves the dat but when I try to run it from the infopackage after assign it to an infosource It doesn't fetch any records.It gives meesage no data selected.
Please help.

Hi Umang..
1) Check at the RSA3 are u pulling it in Full mode or delta or init mode...
2) check ur IP are u pulling in delta or fulll...
if it is F ..mode in RSA3 change it to the D mode...
selcet ur source sytem like ur BW system to where ur loading...

MDM Catalog problem after SRM7 upgrade to EHP2

Dear Experts,
we start our project to upgrade our SRM landscape from 7.0 to EHP2. Now we are facing some problems with the MDM catalog connection. Nothing was changed in the customizing or parameters. The MDM catalog connection provided by SRM NWBC for HTML and customized as external services.
Releases:
MDM Server 7.1 SP8
MDM Catalog 3.0
Netweaver for MDM Server 7.01 SP3
Now when we are using the link we get an Server error 500 from MDM SAP Netweaver with the following description:
Of course we check the regarding note without any success.
Configured links in floorplanmanager
Any help is welcome

MDM iView problem from Business Package in Portals SR1

Hi,
I installed MDM Business Package 3.0 in Enterprise Portals 6.0 SR1. When i execute the iView in Portals, its asking me to download the security file. When i change the iView property from WebGUi to WinGui, its working properly.
Did anyone faced the same problem.

please turn off the Accessibility option in your portal personalization options (upper right corner, Personalize -> User Profile -> Activate Accessibility Features:
(Screen reader required) -> turn it off.
Does it work now as expected ?

MDM WebServices Problem while connecting to MDM repository

Hello,
we have installed the Web Services for MDM.
When I test the Services, say the MDMSearchRecords I always get a ERROR status and the Message:
id (String) WS_LogonProblem
severity (String) ERROR
text (String) Problem while connecting to MDM repository: z_Material on server: debmu416.server..... at port: 4000. Maybe the Repository-Information has not been set correctly at the requested query.
status (String) FAIL
The Repository Information I try to connect with is correct (Repository Name, Server Name, Port, data Language and schema Language).
Can you pls tell me where the problem could be?

you were right! The WebServices version was too old.
Now I can connect to the Repository in Test mode.
I get some other error Messages, like "Field Material_Number is not defined at Table Products." and "Repository Data is not available in the requested Language ." which isn' right.
Do you have a clue where this could come from?

MDM access problem

Hi experts,
Iam facing few problems while working with MDM console and data manager.
1. When i tried to access the MDM server of my neighbour which is in the same network connected through PPTP connection, i could not access it. It shows that the server is locked. How to resolve it?
2. When i tried to use data manager i could not get connected to my repository, it automatically goes to the repository which belongs to the server of my neighbour as a default one. What is the reason for it and how to resolve these problems?

hi kamalakannan,
if you want to access you neighbour server, you want to enter the you neighbour machine IP address in console when you are mounting to MDM server.
if it shows the server is locked, first check with version of your neighbours MDM server and yours version, if there is any version difference also it will show that server as locked.
check that whether server is running in your neighbour machine or not.
you said that your data manager is getting connected to your neighbour server as default.
check the following things
when you double click on the MDM data manager it will ask you to select server and reposistories on which you want to do maintance.while selecting the server and repository confirm which MDM server name and repository names you are entering, whether it is ur neighbour or yours
second thing confirm the version of your MDM data manager and your neighbours server.

MDM UWL Problem

Hello All,
I have recently deployed the MDM portal contents and all components are running fine. I am now trying to configure MDM workflow using UWL. As a part of configurations i activated the "MdmUWLconnector" and also registered a new UWL system. I also have a system that is connected to MDM repository and test is successfull. But in UWL config when i go to "Administer item types and view definitions", i am not able to see the MDM system in current configuration. I need to integrate the MDM workflow using UWL. How should i proceed here?

MDM Console Problem

Dear Gurus,
We have upgraded our MDM 5.5 SP06 Server to MDM 7.1 SP03. All the applications (MDS, MDIS, MDSS) are now running on the same solarix sparc box. We are able to start and stop these applications by command sapcontrol on the server. We have also installed the new MDM console 7.1 on a seperate windows machine.
But when we connect from MDM console and try to mount the MDM server, its get mounted and shows the status stopped, even though the server is running.
When we try to start the server from console, it asks for the user id and the password. We tried giving all the user ids and passwords includint <sid>adm. But it gives error saying "Call to SAPWebServiceStartInstance failed with error: Invalid Credentials".
Please help...

While connecting MDM server does we required to provide system numbers as we have three numbers 40, 42, 44 for MDS. MDIS and MDSS?
I tried to connect the MDS server with address hostname 40 but then also same problem.

In this case
It seems that MDM server discovered some tables having duplicate data, voilating the Unique constraint. In such cases it appends a field to the repository and sets it as Unique. This resolves the problem and enables you to load the repository. You then have to clean the table and then delete the field added by MDM server.
Try to repair the repository and load it again.you will get the solution.
and Uninstall your Console and Reinstall it again.
Stop MDM Server, Go to mds.ini file remove all enteries for Repositories and then start server again.Check your server version and console version compatibility.check the memory of machine on which server is installed. It may cause problem while loading or unarchiving repositories.
I guess it might help.

MDM Publisher problem

Hi all,
MDM Publisher shows only the main table fields and the attributes associated with Standard Categories Table.
If I have more taxonomy table the Publisher doesn't show me attributes. This is a vary big restriction..... and the MDM strong points (the logic on fields and attributes) are nagate if I can't show attributes, but only fileds.
Do you have any solutions? Thanks a lot.

I just know what you say.
The problem is that I have more taxonomy tables (not only one that is the standard) and I want the Publisher shows me the <u>Attibutes</u> for all taxonomies.
To do this, I add a table (type Families) in the Repository and in the FamilyField I write the name of Taxonomy. In this way the Publisher show me fields and attributes of that taxonomy. This is fine but everytime I have to specify the name of taxonomy.
I would like the Publisher shows me all the attributes regarding the various taxonomies.
Is it possible?

MDM Performance problems

Hi All:
We are suffering terrible connections problem when we tried to connect using MDM Data Manager to the MDM Server. To give an example, sometime we wait for more than 10 minutes to complete the connection and the repository load. This obviously would make sense if we would have all the records loaded and we would have an enormous repository to be loaded; however this is not the case.
Have you ever performed repository loading problems or any other sort of performance problem. How are you handling it? What sort of best practices have you implemented?

Have you sized your MDM Server properly?
MDM Sizing guide is available in Service Market place.
For running client applications, I would recommend atleast 2 Gb ram.
CPU Consumption is high when you are executing some matching strategies or Import Manager.
If the repository has lot of binary data(imange) then the archiving would take a lot of time. We are experiencing an hour to archive a repository and 20 to 25 minutes to load the repository.
This is after the fact that the sizing was done properly.

SRM MDM Installation Problem (.a2a file Unarchive issue)

I am totally new for SRM MDM, and need to install SRM MDM and configure the system.
Below are the steps what i have done till up to
Already SRM 5.0 Installed
Installed Oracle 10g ( with diffrent Oracle SID as I have already one Oracle installed for SRM)
1) Installed MDMServer- Version.5.5.41.70.exe
2) Installed SAP MDM Console
3) Installed SAP MDM Data manager
4) Installed SAP MDM Import manager
5) Copied .a2a file in -Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\SERVERS/Archive
Could you please explain....
1) How to deploy MDMJAVAAPI05_1.sca and SRMMDMCAT01_0.sca in the SAP WAS
Not able find "RemoteGui.bat" or "Configtool.bat" in Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5 but I can find these files in SRM
G:\usr\sap\ECC\DVEBMGS04\SDM\program\RemoteGui.bat and
G:\usr\sap\ECC\DVEBMGS04\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
2) How to Unarchive the SRMMDMCAT01_0.sca in MDM Console
In fact I am not getting any User folder under "Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5 "

1. Deploy MDMJAVAAPI05_1.sca and SRMMDMCAT01_0.sca in the SAP WAS using SDM.
For more information about installation and Configuration please refer SAP Note # 1057316
2. to unarchive repository steps are follows:
     1. copy .a2a file in the archive directory of MDM server
      2. open console and mount MDM server.
      3. right click on server and select unarchive repository. provide the DBMS connection details and Repository Name and specify the .a2a file. then click ok. This will unarchive your repository. For more details please refer to console reference guide.
