MDM PUblisher - List of values

Hello All,
I would like to know if SAP MDM Publishers offers the possibility to restrict the proucts to be published (Paper publishing) using a list of values (xould be Product Codes) that would be uploaded using Excel or any similar format ???
The Business purpose is to create "Mini" catalog based on a restricted list of products.
Best Regards
Cyril S

Hi Cyril,
I would say, this is one of the best feature of SAP MDM. You can definitely create a mask.. you can add products to this mask using a list of products from a text file. and then you can use this mask to publish your mini catalog...This way you can restrict product to be being published...
In addition to this you can also further select records to be further published using the records tab in publisher...
hope that clears your question. Please revert if you have any further question..

    while crateing the parameters I selected the options: *1) can select all and all value passed*
    but in the view when I select 'ALL' option from the list, its showing the following error message:
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended.
    but if I select a particular tier and accnum it is worikg fine.
    I have used the following query in the dataset:-
    select ACCOUNT.ACCOUNT_NUM as ACCOUNT_NUM,

    ACCOUNT.ACCOUNT_NAME as ACCOUNT_NAME,
    ACCOUNTATTRIBUTES.DISTRICT_ID as DISTRICT_ID,

  • How to create parameters and list of values in BI Publisher

    Hello friends,
    I'm Using BI Publisher 10.1.3. I tried creating a report based on a column's data for ex: dept_no
    in the data model i specified the table name to select all columns
    I created the list of values taken as type-sql query. in the query I've written select dept_no from dept
    In the parameters section i gave it as integer and default value as * parameter type as menu then i selected the list of value name that i previously specified..
    now the problem is when I run the report I get all the data inspite of selecting the parameter from which I need that particular deptno's data
    What could be the reason
    pls let me know
    Thanks and Regards

    In your main data model query, have you used this parameter to limit the data to the selected department?
    Eg. select dept_name from depts where dept_no = :p_dept
    where :p_dept is your parameter..
    Thanks!

    Thanks prety much,I am using XML to upload data from there into RTF templete. I've already insert table through load data option, but my problem is, how could I select a value from a list of values and based on that value selected from the list, it should displaydata corrosping to it. For example, I have few codes like TTAG, AMAG, TOTOM and if I select TOTM, it should display the complete address of that hotel named TOTM. If above given scenario is not at all possible, then Is there any alternate method to achieve this?

  • How to change background color in List of Values (LOV) ?

    Hiya
    In Forms 10g, the background color in list of values (LOV) is White whereas it was grey in Form 6i. Also, the position of 3 buttons i.e. Find, OK and Cancel on LOV is different than what it used to be in Forms 6i.
    Is it possible to change the background color and the position of buttons of LOV in Forms 10g ?
    Cheers

    I would like to share the outcome of this issue.
    I had posted this same issue on Metalink yesterday. They (Metalink guys) have confirmed that its an bug in Oracle 10g DS R2 and it would be fixed in subsequent releases.
    Following is an official response from Metalink:
    This issue has been addressed to Oracle Development to be investigated/fixed in the published Bug:

  • Dynamic list of values in CR 2008 - request of login to database

    I am using CR2008 with VB2005. I created simple application which generate report on different SQL Server 2005 databases.
    Report uses OLE.DB connection to SQL Server, I pass logon information in VB using "SA" username and password. The same simple report works great on different databases with one exception: if parameter (dynamic list of values) is used in report it runs correctly only on database it was created (connection to this database is saved in report and can be seen in Database->Set Datasource Location). Changing connection to other databases in VB during runtime causes CR to ask for username and password (in standard parameter window). It looks, like Crystal have one connection for report and the other for dynamic list of values parameter. I pass connection information to report using ConnectionInfo(). I loop through alll tables in report and apply connection:
    For Each crTable In crTables
                    crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    I tried to pass connection information also to parameter but I couldn't find such possibility.

    This is a known issue (Tracking number is ADAPT01333806.) and a note has been written,  unfortunately it is not yet published. Below is the note content, including a work-around / resolution. You may also want to try FP 2.3, see that helps. (I'll break this post into two as I'll loose the formatting if I don't.
    Reproducing the Issue
    Use Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 to create a report with dynamic parameter(s)
    Use the following code from the Crystal Reports SDK for VS .NET
    Dim crDatabase As Database
    Dim crTables As TablesDim crTable As Table
    Dim crTableLogOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo
    Dim crConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo
    crReportDocument.Load("<path>")
    crReportDocument.Refresh()
    crConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
    With crConnectionInfo
         .ServerName = "<New Server Name>"
          .Password = "<password>"
    End With
    crDatabase = crReportDocument,Database
    crTables = crDatabase.Tables
    For Each crTable In crTables
         crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
         crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
         crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
    The above code works with Crystal Reports 2008 SP 1

  • Date Parameters and List of Values (error message date format cannot be nul

    I'm new to BI Publisher. I began with a simple report that has 4 parameters. The parameters are center code, sales date, customer number, and job number. I am trying to create a list of values on my customer number based on the center code and sales date entered by the user. My query for my LOV is:
    select customer_nbr
    from ticket
    where center_cd = :center
    and trunc(trans_date) = :salesDate
    salesDate is defined as a date parameter with a format of MM-dd-yy. It's default value is 04-10-07.
    When I attempt to view my report after adding the LOV, I receive the error:
    Date format can not be null.
    What am I doing wrong? Also, I would like the salesDate to default to the current date. I have tried using sysdate as the default value. This isn't working. The salesDate defualts to null when it is set to sysdate.

    "Date - allows the user to enter a date as a parameter. Note that the data type must also be "Date" and the format must be Java date format."

  • List of Values (dynamic parameter) times out once and then works.

    Hello.  First time posting here.  I'm having a strange (yet very predictable) issue with Crystals Reports List of Values.  The List of Values is used on a dynamic cascading prompt and is published to the BO XI R2 repository.  The prompt/list works fine when using Crystal Reports thick client, but when using the Crystal Reports viewer from InfoView the following happens everytime:
    1.  Any Report that uses the Parameter/LOV is launched.
    2.  After about 1-2 minutes, the viewer returns a "Timeout" error message.
    3.  The report is launched a 2nd time.
    4.  The parameters/LOVs display (takes about 8 seconds) and the report runs fine.
    Then anytime a report is run within a certain period of time it works ok.  But if no one runs a report for an extended period of time (i'm not sure how long, but it's on the order of maybe 30 mins.. to an hour), then it starts all over again.  In addition, if I restart the services/server this same thing will immediately occur.  (time out once, but work after that for a period of time).
    I initially did not schedule the LOV to get generated on the server and left it so that it's done in real-time when the report ran.  But then when I ran into this error, I tried scheduling it every 10 minutes or so, but the error continues to happen.
    I also restarted the server/etc to no avail.
    I saw another post on here that was kind of similar and that suggested that starting the LOV services as a domain user (that had admin rights on the BO server) helped him.  I tried this as well and restarted everything but that didn't fix my issue.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Scott

    Just wanted to update this.
    Because I use Business Objects OEM, I didn't have direct support with SAP/Business Objects.  However, because of this issue (and other issues) we purchased Business Objects Edge 3.0.
    After getting BOE 3 installed/configured, I migrated those reports and underlying Business Views over.
    And guess what?   The problem still occurred on the new platform.
    I then created a support incident and the person that initially tried to help me couldn't figure out what was going on.
    However, during that time, I did try re-creating the report using a newer version of Crystal (Crystal 2008) and the problem went away.  (note, I didn't recreate the business views.. just the reports).
    So bottom line:
    I created all reports from scratch instead of using the reports that I migrated from BO XI R2/CR XI and no longer had the problem.
    The techs never figured out the exact cause of the issue.
    So far, my experience with their support has been the same on all incidents.  They don't seem to be trained (at least at the 1st level) for actually using the debug/logs/etc to help quickly pinpoint/analyze issues.  They do basically like I do (the end user) and smartly poke around and do trail/error.  I have yet to get a support tech that knew the exact nature of my issue and could solve it without this kind of trial/error approach.

    Hi DrClap,
    I have a similar problem again. This time I am trying to extract a list of values from a xsd. Below is the code that I am using.
              try{
                   djxsd = new FileInputStream("djei-3.1.xsd");
                   XPathFactory factory = XPathFactory.newInstance();
                   XPath xpath = factory.newXPath();

  • Restrict the list of values retrieved by a model driven LOV

    hi all
    i'm try to restrict the list of values retrieved by a model driven LOV just like the article in this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/restrictlovlist/restrictlov.html
    and i'm using the jdev11.2 but i always get this error
    java.sql.SQLException: parameter IN or OUT is missing at index 1
    my code is :
    public void SetSchoolLovVar(LaunchPopupEvent launchPopupEvent)
    String var_val=getOt7().getValue().toString();
    System.out.println("++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++"+var_val);
    BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    FacesCtrlLOVBinding lov = (FacesCtrlLOVBinding)bindings.get("DeptCode");
    System.out.print("LOVE "+lov);
    System.out.println("+_+_+_+_+__+_+_+__+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_________+++++_+_+_"+lov.getName());
    lov.getListIterBinding().getViewObject().setNamedWhereClauseParam("Rejon_For_Prj_Dept",var_val);
    Rejon_For_Prj_Dept is the bind variable of the Lov Query.
    any good idea

    Hi,
    The error might be due to making the bind variable as required but not using it in the vo query. Edit the bind variable and make it as optional by unchecking the required checkbox.

  • LIST OF VALUES not Populating in BPS WEB INTERFACE ( LAYOUTS )

    Hi BI Guru's
    I have created a WEB interface for BPS in BI ( version 7.0) .  But when i execute this in internet explorer, I do not get the LIST OF VALUES for Material.
    When I click on "input help" the system open a new window for "Value selection".  When I specify the material code, it gives me blank LIST OF VALUES.
    But it is working for other fields like Customer, UOM in the same layout.
    Please suggest some solution.
    Thanks,
