MDM schema questions

I am using
MDM Version 5.5 SP4 (5.5.33.13) on Windows XP
Please help me with the following
1. "Create Repository from Schema" option is not available in MDM console
2. How do I use the Business Content that comes with MDM to create schemas and import and syndication etc?
3. How do I use a2a files?
Thanks

Hi,
1. "Create Repository from Schema" option is not available in MDM console
Here you can create repository  say Demo_Repo first  by right click on your MDM Server Once the Repository is created Right click on your Demo_Repo and try using Export Repository Schema which is nothing but Create Repository From Schema.
2. How do I use the Business Content that comes with MDM to create schemas and import and syndication etc?
You dnt need to worry after downloading Business Content say for Article  when you Archive this repository Everything you will get ready made except data means complete structure with required tables and fields, you have alredy created Ports etc.
3. How do I use a2a files?
Firstly you have to Place this .a2a files under your Archive folder as
C:\ProgramFiles\SAPMDM5.5\Server\Archives
where say C: Drive in which  you have installed MDM Server
After placing files:
In MDM Console Right click on Server then Unarchive Repository then give your DBMS server: , Login, Password Credentials then give any repository Name say Susalra_Demo_Repo and select the respective archive name from drop down list then Finish. then you could see an ew repository is created under your MDM server with Name Suslra_Demo_Repo it take some time during unarchiving let it complete itself once it done then Load your Repository again it will take some time to get load
Hope it will Help you,
Rewards if found Useful....
Thanks,

  • SSO SDK schema question

    Hello,
    I have question regarding Oracle Single sign-on and partner application. I have a Blackboard course management system as Oracle partner application using SSO. I have a "BBSSO" schema for Blackboard single sign-on. My problem is the "BBSSO" sessions are slowly growing, and eventually I have to restart Blackboard. I don't why "BBSSO" session grows?
    By using OEM, I see "BBSSO" are running with these SQL:
    begin wwsec_sso_enabler_private_java.encrypt_cookie(:1,:2,:3,:4); end;
    BEGIN wwsec_sso_enabler_private_java.get_enabler_config(:1, :2, :3, :4, :5, :6, :7, :8); END;
    When are "BBSSO" sessions released?

    This looks like what I need, thanks!
    I'm having an issue getting webpass to work with Oracle Application Server. I'm just trying to set up a dev server, with all components on it. I have a 10.1.4 Identity Management install working, and installed the Identity server successfully. I used Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_1_sparc-s2_OHS2_WebPass (only OHS I could find for sparc) and it installs fine. Then I tried to follow the directions to update the httpd.conf file manually since it doesn't work with automatic update. If I dcmctl updateconfig -ct ohs, I receive an error:
    ADMN-100015
    An exception occurred in the "apache" plugin provided by the "OHS" component while validating configuration files for that component.
    Resolution:
    The resolution information provided by the "OHS" component may be helpful.
    In addition, here are some common causes of problems:
    incorrect permissions on files
    configuration files are missing or invalid
    syntax error in configuration files
    Exception thrown by plugin "apache":
    oracle.ias.sysmgmt.repository.plugin.advanced.apache.parser.ParserIOException
    /opt/netpoint/webcomponent/identity/oblix/.apacheconfig.ohsPluginTmp (Permission denied)
    I tried setting open permissions to world, but didn't make a difference.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Document Style/Schema questions

    We are using Weblogic 8.1 sp1 and eclipse
    I have some general questions about Document style web services
    If I create a simple web service like
    public String getSomething(String xmlRequest)
              throws RemoteException, SomethingException
    then I can use servicegen, style=documentwrapped and everything works fine.
    The strings are actually XML documents. If I want to let my clients know about
    the schema for these documents would you suggest modifying the wsdl or publishing
    it elsewhere?
    Assuming I decide to put the schema in the wsdl how would I do that? (I am not
    using workshop)
    How does Weblogic know to convert the SOAP body into a String object? Should my
    interface be changed to use org.w3c.org.Document objects insead of Strings?
    Switching to the Client and consuming a document web services
    If I use clientgen on a wsdl that is document/literal style and has a full schema,
    I get a bunch of java classes representing the Document. The port object returns
    one of these objects (getSomethingResponse). Is there a way to have the port object
    return a an org.w3c.org.Document object?
    thanks for your help,
    Brit

    Hi Brit,
    If your business logic works fine just using strings then there would
    seem to be a little value in increaing the complexity of the message
    exchange pattern. If your client needs to know more about message where
    sharing the schema is desirable, then it is suggested as best practice
    to import the schema into the WSDL. The WS-I BP [1] clarifies use of
    the import mechanisms to keep them consistent and confined to their
    respective domains.
    For a org.w3c.org.Document, Manoj has an example here [1].
    The WSDL defines when to convert the SOAP to strings, using for example:
    xsd:element type="xsd:string"

  • Star schema question

    Hi,
    I have a question about the realization of the star schema. I have familiarized me with the basic concepts of dimensions and fact tables. But what I don’t get is how I “combine” the dimensions with the fact table. I know that the fact table includes the dimension-IDs and measures. But do I use the joiner-operator in the OWB to join the dimension-ID (IDs of the dims are the criteria for the joiner condition) to create the fact table?
    So my understanding is when I have for example 3 dimensions (product dimension, sales dimension, time dimension) and one fact table.
    The realization looks like this:
    product dim ->
    sales dim -> joiner operator = fact table with the IDs of the dims and measure
    time dim ->
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    If there is something that I can read to this subject of matter it would be very nice if someone could post it.
    Thx

    Hi,
    first you load the dimensions. Every entry has an id (surrogate key) and some business key (coming from the data source).
    When you load the fact, you use the business key from the data source to join (using a joiner or lookup operator) the dimension and get the id (surrogate key) from it. You only load the id and the measures into the fact table.
    Make sure to handle the case that the business key is null or no entry in the dimension can be found.
    If you query the fact table you must always join the dimensions.
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • Exception - Cannot Build Schema (Question)

    Friends,
    I have a quick question which is driving me crazy. New to SOA, please help.
    I defined a variable of type "element" by refering it to an pre-existing xsd. I know the xsd is valid. When I try to use the variable in an assign activiity it does not show the child element and gives error "Exception - Cannot build Schema". While creating variable I refer to element "FetchCustomerInfoResponse".
    Following is the xsd for your reference :-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://www.example.org"
    targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"
    elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xsd:element name="FetchCustomerInfoResponse">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="XYX_ONT_ACCOUNT_ORDERS">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="XYZ_ONT_ACCOUNT_ORDER" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:attribute name="ordered_date" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:attribute name="cust_po_number" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:attribute name="order_number" type="xsd:integer"/>
    <xsd:attribute name="header_id" type="xsd:integer"/>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>

    Hi,
    using the schema you gave, i was able to create a variable inside the BPEL by referring to the FetchCustomerInfoResponse element, and also i was able to do the copy operation inside the assign activity.
    Please try the same again, may be create the variable again...it should work...
    Thanks

  • Network Magic - Licensing Scheme Question

    I have a question regarding the licensing scheme.
    I believe that I am allowed a maximum of 5 installs of NM on my network.
    My wife's computer recently gave up the ghost. Given that I have had to replace her PC with a new one (the old one is toast - it will not boot) can I somehow transfer the license to her new PC ? or is the license installed on the failed PC lost forever meaning I only have 4 licenses left ?
    Thanks.

    Hi atari400, Do you have a Pro or Essentals license?
    I would call NM Customer Service about that so they can help you with this situation.
    Support Hours:

  • Authentiation scheme question

    I wrote my authetication scheme and need to use a value from the application. When I hard code the value in the authentication scheme, it works as expected. When I code it getting a value from a page in the app, it fails.
    Declare
    v_app_user varchar2(100) = lower(v('app_user'));
    v_app_name varchar2(100) = lower(v('p1_app_name')); <<< fails
    v_app_name varchar2(100) = lower(v('Customer App')); <<< works fine
    begin
    pkg_authenticate.auth_user_to_app(v_app_user, v_app_name, v_results);
    If v_results is null then true;
    else false;
    end if;
    end;
    My question is am I able to access a page variable in the authentication scheme ?
    Thanks,
    Gerald

    Scott:
    Here's the actual code from my authentication scheme. The scheme is a post authentication that fires once per page view.
    -- Call procedure that will determine if the user is authorized for
    -- the requested application.
    DECLARE
    v_msg VARCHAR2(100) := null;
    v_app_user VARCHAR2(100) := lower(v('APP_USER'));
    v_app_name VARCHAR2(100) := LOWER('Impromptu Customer Feedback');
    -- v_app_name VARCHAR2(100) := lower(v('P1_APP_NAME'));
    -- v_app_name VARCHAR2(100) := lower(:P1_APP_NAME);
    -- v_app_name VARCHAR2(100) := lower(&P1_APP_NAME);
    -- v_app_name VARCHAR2(100) := lower(v('P1_APP_NAME'));
    BEGIN
    htmldb_isud_user.PKG_HTMLDB_ADMIN.authorize_user_ldap(v_app_user,v_app_name,'HTMLDB',v_msg);
    IF v_msg IS NULL THEN
    RETURN TRUE;
    ELSE
    RETURN FALSE;
    END IF;
    END;
    The package that is called will return null if the user is authorized or an error message that is passed back through the error message when scheme is violated.
    When I hard code the value of v_app_name (as shown above), everything works fine. However, I'd like to have a hidden field in every app that is used to populate the v_app_name. That will allow me to have a single copy of the authentication scheme and copy/subscribe to any app that needs it.
    I hope that clears up my question.

  • MDM Syndicator Question

    Hi,
    I have a question on the MDM syndicator.
    Can the MDM Syndicator handle the following business case... or do you need to have XI in the middle ?
    MDM would need to send
    (a) New data to each of 3 connected systems
    (b) Changed data to each of the system for which there is an external key present.
    I know the  suppress unchanged records and suppress the records without a key option.. but these don't seem to be sufficient.
    Thx,
    Dirk

    Hello Dirk:
    As you ask about using XI, the answer is yes, MDM cannot interact (as syndication goes) with any system, it only exports the data either on txt flat files, or XML files, so XI, or any broker for that matter, is needed.
    Sending data to new previously empty systems is also posible, just set up a new Client System and create its correspondient syndication map.
    I hope that helps
    Regards
    Alejandro

  • Cisco ISE 1.2 MDM Integration Question

    I have a working Cisco ISE 1.2.1 install which I've performed the integration to our MobileIron server. The "integration test" reports that the integration is good, but whenever ISE verifies MDM compliance, registration, etc.. with MobileIron when a mobile device connects it always reports that all statuses are good even if they aren't.
    My test phone is out of compliance on Mobileiron because of an unapproved app, but when the phone connects ISE believes the MDM compliance status is good. I'm not sure if it isn't really checking with MDM or if the Mobileiron server is reporting erroneous results.
    I also saw in a video that the phone has to be registered with MobileIron through ISE. Is this correct? I don't plan to on-board devices with MobileIron through ISE, it will be done directly through MobieIron (not connected to the Wifi network).
    I only want ISE to check the compliance status of the device against MobileIron and quarantine if it isn't compliant or MDM registered.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Saurav and others,
    Unfortunately, on-boarding sets some attribute fields on the endpoints that will then allow them to participate in a policy. It is nice that we all have MDM integration working but we almost need another class of on-boarding for corporate devices that are already in the MDM of choice (where we prefer to manage them!)
    There is a little documented feature in ISE.
    It appears to me that;
    the on-boarding turns on the following states for the endpoint;
    BYODRegistration
    No   ( No becomes Yes)
    DeviceRegistrationStatus
    NotRegistered   (becomes Registered)
    ( The device is actually registered in MobileIron - this means did ISE register with MI. )
    No MI attributes will work without this magic. TAC engineers I have dealt with don't seem to understand this feature.
     This is definitely an enhancement that is needed.

  • AQ - XSD Schema Questions

    What I am looking to do is use BPEL for messaging (and manipulation of said messages) in the backend for data synchronization to disparate sources.
    Currently, we are investigating the following:
    Oracle 9i DB with a stored procedure that accepts a number of parameters (or XML Document in CLOB format), processes the document (updates, typically), and before returning, writing the output XML document to an AQ setup on that DB instance.
    BPM (installed on an OAS 10g server instance) would be utilizing the AQ adapter to dequeue this message for processing through the orchestration.
    This is where our difficulty begins. The message the SP generates is based on an enterprise schema (EBOD - currently), which is a relatively robust XSD. Currently, we're looking how to get the AQ adapter to pick up this message (should it be a clob?) off the queue and essentially cast it into our schema that we've imported into the BPM. We haven't had much success doing this so far. Implementing a ADT that is "typed" in the 9i DB by retyping the entire schema is unacceptable, for obvious reasons.
    I think what we're looking to do is take this clob and essentially "cast" it into a message format defined by our schema. Maybe there is a better way to tackle this problem, by using something besides a CLOB (XMLType isn't supported yet, but even then... would that solve our problem?), but I am unsure. We need the message in a manipulatable form in order to call additional web services (that have differing interfaces) by extracting certain elements and passing those. Additionally, we may wish to do some business logic, routing, etc.
    I can clarify what I'm looking to do, but basically 9i DB Stored Proc writes an XML doc to an AQ. BPEL is monitoring said AQ, picks up the CLOB (that type for now) and casts the message to it's schema that we've loaded (no transformation necessary, the schema is for the specific XML doc - ie. the doc validates to that schema) and we basically go forward and process the rest of the orchestration based on this message.
    Can anyone help me with this approach? Any other suggestions?

    Hi Todd,
    The AQ Adapter allows the user to pick a CLOB field within an ADT as the payload and supply a schema for its definition.(pick "Field within Object" for the Business Payload in the AQ Adapter wizard)
    Your 9i DB Store Proc would write to the queue which is defined based on the ADT, with xml payload stored in the CLOB field. The BPEL process would be able to pick up this payload thru the AQ Adapter.
    There is a sample illustrating this scenario in the installation.
    integration\orabpel\samples\tutorials\124.AQAdapter\ADT_with_CLOB_Payload
    Note the sample also uses payload header which is defined by the ADT structure to access fields other than the payload field. The use of headers is optional.
    Let me know if this is what you're looking for.

  • OInvoice Business Object XML Schema question

    I am trying to produce an xml file based on the oInvoices business object to use in an EDI translation.  I am running Sap Business One 2005 A SP:01 PL:03.  I used one of the sample programs in the SDK Samples folder to produce an XML schema of the oInvoices object.  The sample program is in the COM DI folder, program #06. ObjectSchemas.  When I run this program is produces an xml file that is really a schema for oInvoices, and it uses the GetBusinessObjectXmlSchema function for the oInvoices BoObjectType.  If I use the SaveXML function on the SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oInvoices, I get a different xml file that does not use the same table or fields names.  (See sample below - schema uses the table name, OINV, SaveXml uses 'Documents' in place of the OINV name, schema has a QueryParams tag set, SaveXml does not, SaveXml has a Version defined within the AdminInfo, the Schema does not have this). Why doesn't the oInvoices xml schema match the xml file produced using the SaveXML function.  Which example below is the correct xml representation of an Invoice?  I have copied parts of each file below.
    oInvoices file produced using GetBusinessObjectXmlSchema for oInvoices:

    Hi Nancy,
    I can´t find it right now, but I do remember reading that there were different XML definition versions for SBO objects. In the version 1, table names where used. In the version 2, object names where used. Looks like the schema defines version 2, but SBO is using version 2.
    I will check if I can found where I did read that. Try speaking with someone in SAP and about XML versions, perhaps they could help you with this info.
    Hope helps,

  • XML Schema questions

    Question 1:
    If I have a many to many relationship that I want to display within multiple tables.  Is there a straightforward way to bind that?
    An example would be an automobile that use similar parts (seats etc).  I dont think livecycle supports keys
    So the xml looks like
    <orderCatalog>
      <automobile>
         <modelNumber>auto1</modelNumber>
          ... year etc
      </automobile>
      <part>
             <partNo>part1</partNo>
      </part>
       <joinAutoPart>
              <modelNumber>auto1</modelNumber>
              <partNo>part1</partNo>
       </joinAutoPart>
    </orderCatalog>
    I would like to point this to
    Subform pointing to joinAutoPart
    Header field pointing to automobile (with model number and name)
    Table with part information pointing to partNo (with partName and partNo and price)
    That way I would have a table per automobile with all of the individual parts listed
    Question 2:
    Can reader load an xml file over the internet by pressing a button like loadXML?
    Question 3: non xml related
    Is there a way to save a link from a table row to another table row
    Using the above example if I had multiple auto tables with multiple parts.  The user selects a part which I add to an order table.
    I would like to highlight that field showing they have ordered the part and grey out the button.
    However, if they remove the item from their order I would like to add it back without having to search every field in every table to find the part number.

    Thanks again for the response.
    Q1: If I have a join table - given that I have a many - to - many relation with multiple autos and multiple parts
    How do I connect the partNo to the description in the table from the xml
    If I create a table that I want to have
    <orderCatalog>
      <automobile>
         <modelNumber>auto1</modelNumber>
         <modelName>Mustang</modelName>
          ... year etc
      </automobile>
      <part>
             <partNo>part1</partNo>
             <partName>Headrest</partName>
      </part>
       <joinAutoPart>
              <modelNumber>auto1</modelNumber>
              <partNo>part1</partNo>
       </joinAutoPart>
    </orderCatalog>
    Automobile Model #,  Make, ....
    PartNo |  Part Description | Order Button
    I can bind joinAutoPart table to the Automobile header, but how to I convert that to a text Model Name vs a number
    I can join PartNo to the entries of a table, but can I fill the descriptions of each
    I want to do select partdescription, colorOptions, etc from partTable where PartNo = part1 then use those values - using binding or xml syntax
    I can reform the xml from my data to be the following, but this requires a lot of duplicate data and is very error prone to have one part name or number that is one off
    <automobile>
        <partList>
             <part>
                     <partNumber>part1<partNumber>
                     <partName>partName</partName>
             </part>
        </partList>
    </automobile>
    Q2: ok
    Ideally, I would like to have a dropdown box where the user selects say a  model name.  Then it builds a list of tables from an xml file - so there are a few common tables - like t-shirts, coffee cups etc that would show up on every form and the rest are dynamic.
    For ODBC, am I correct in thinking that the link has to be established at the client to the server outside of reader before a connection can be made within reader?
    Q3:  I am doing the add programatically, but if I have a part number from a built xml with many tables - is there a way to identify which table it is coming from?
    I don't on the order form have  | ModelNumber | PartNumber, so I don't have an easy way to reference back. And if I did I would still have to do multiple linear searches.  I assume the performance wouldn't be too bad, but it is not pretty.
    i = 0;
    j=0;
    while(i < (ModelTableForm.count-1))
       if (xyz.resolveNode("foo[" + i + "]").modelNumberField.rawValue == modelNumber)
              j = 0;
             while(j< (abc.resolveNode("bar[" + i + "]").count-1))
                 if(abc.resolveNode("bar[" + i + "]").partNumberField.rawValue == partNo)
                         abc.resolveNode("bar[" + i + "]").addButton.prescence="visible"
       i++;
    I was hoping for an extra field or way to extend the row object I could add referringNode or something to that effect and just say OrderRow.refferingNode.button.presence = "visible"
    I think I found one way to get around this.  I think I can create 0 width colums for indexes to the tables
    That way I could say  xyz.resolveNode("foo[" + modelIndex + "]").abc.resolveNode("bar[" + partIndex + "]")

  • Value Mapping Table - XI MDM Design Question

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario as :
    When XI receives data from a sender system,before sending data to receiver system (in this case MDM),XI is supposed to check some fields in MDM and depending on the result XI should decide whether to send the records or not.
    Now,in this case I have two options:
    1.After recieving data from sender system ,from XI mapping call a webservice(webservice is supposed to go to MDM and check the fields and give the result),then depending on the result XI will decide whether to send or not.
    2.After receving data from sender system,from XI mapping access a value look table in XI from a UDF and then check the result,then depending on the result XI will decide whether to send or not.
    I have pointed out some glitches for every option:
    1.First considering volume of XI source message( approx. 800 records per message),then MDM database records (approx 40000 or 50000).Hence once XI receives message XI will have to go to MDM for every record and every time it will search among 40000 MDM records using webservice.
    This will effect performance as for every record webservice will be called and again it might face connection problems.
    2.In this option XI will have to store all the 40000 records from MDM in the value lookup table.Again,how to synch up this value lookup table with MDM database?
    This table has to be a copy of MDM database which changes everyday.
    Is it ok to store around 40000 records in XI's value lookup table?
    Considering above points can you please help me to find out optimum solution?
    Thanks,
    Shweta.

    >>Is it ok to store around 40000 records in XI's value lookup table?
    its advised to use value mapping for static values,not for dynamic values,since you will have changes everyday you should not use Value mapping here.
    now coming to your first approach,why not copy this table from MDM to XI(i know XI is not the owner of data,but if its an internal MDM server,you should be able to do it),once the table is copied in XI itself,you can simply use ABAP mapping to create the receiver structure.
    the above approach looks good to me as long as the MDM guys don't have any problem with XI storing the data as well and you sync up the table between XI and MDM periodically
    Thanx

  • Runtime schema questions

    Hi,
    I am using OWB 9.0.2 Is it necessary to install Runtime repository in all my target schema where I want to transfer data??
    Thanks
    DJ

    OWB 9.0.2 did not have the concept of 'runtime repository'. On the other hand, if you use 9.2, it is recommended to install a runtime repository for each target schema if you plan to have multiple target schemas from a single design repository.

  • Schema Questions?

    I was wondering if this RFI works. I am trying to link two tables together but each exist in diff. schemas
    //Schema1
    create tablename(
    JobOrderID Number(6) PRIMARY KEY,
    JobOrderNumber varchar(15),
    Location varchar(20),
    JobDate Date);
    //Schema2
    create tablename(
    SalesOrderID Number(6) PRIMARY KEY,
    JobOrderID Number(6),
    SalesDate Date
    FORIEGN KEY JobOrderID REFERENCES Schema1.tablename(JonOrderID));
    Is this RFI valid and will it be enforced. Basically I have two schema's and I want some tables to be linked between the two.

    Assuming that the owner of schema2 has appropriate object privileges on Schema1.tablename, I see no reason this won't work.
